Book Description Celine Dion -- My Story, My Dream is an unforgettable true story of courage, perseverance, dedication, and devotion -- told with the wide-eyed honesty of someone who has basked in the glowing adoration of millions of fans but has never lost touch with her working-class roots. Here is a book for anyone who has ever wondered about the real person behind the magnificent voice. Touching and funny, fascinating and uplifting, it is an exquisitely detailed portrait of a remarkable woman who has never backed away from any challenge...even the most daunting challenges of the heart. It was so interested to learn of the role that David Foster had in her American recordings. David Foster is a master with talent. He also has introduced the world to Josh Groban. It is my utmost hope that Celine and Josh will do many duets and shows together. It isn't just their voices - it's their personalities. They are both confident, but they are both so unpretentious as well. I was awed by the strength of Celine and her family. What a unique environment to grow up in! Additionally, Celine seems so honest about her life - both the good and the bad. I was amazed at the details regarding her husband, Rene. Amazed that Celine had such a love for this man that it triumphed over YEARS when he repeatedly "rejected" her. She was famous and could have had any number of boyfriends, but instead her heart wouldn't allow her to love anyone but Rene. I believe that Rene was MEANT to be with Celine and her family; that he truly didn't begin to live until he met them. Likewise, I think that Celine is everything that she is because of Rene. Not just her voice, but her looks, style, education, etc. Celine, a "homewrecker?" Give me a break! She was 14 and mesmerized by a cultured, attractive, genius agent who put her first in his life. I don't think that any marriage could have survived when one woman becomes such an obsession as Rene wanted the whole world to hear Celine. And in all fairness, the marriage had been over for a long time before he finally made love to her at 20. To me it is one of the greatest love stories of our time!! Rene groomed Celine to become the woman she is. And he is her whole world. What man could resist this? Personally, I think he should feel as though he is the luckiest man in the world to have the love and loyalty of this gifted, funny, and amazing woman.

Each section of the book has a bunch of great, moving photos, following Celine down her long road to success. Each photo tells her story in chronological order. It makes me think of a blossoming flower, going from stage to stage. There is also a story of what Celine has done, in preparation of her "Falling into you" tour. Georges Hebert tells the every stress Celine has felt on given days. I was amazed about how she is so loved in foreign countries. The book has skyrocketed into great success, either in french or english. I am looking forward to buying her latest book. My likes for her are not finished, even though she is on her sabbatical. Buy the book and read it carefully. It's the type of book you won't put down! Did my review help you?

Book Description No book can be used as an ultimate reference tool for the facts around one of the most extraordinary careers in the show business history. No book can be picked up by a fan or a reporter on a deadline and serve as the reference for all the achievements of "la p'tite québécoise". That's the objective of that book I'm proposing. I want to create a book that will be able to serve as a reference and tool with confidence that the facts are reliable. * A book for the average fan to get fully impressed by the achievements of Céline * A book for the die-hard fan to check up and improve his knowledge on Céline facts * A book for the collector to check out how to improve his collection with reliable reference numbers * A book for the journalist in need of a unique and reliable source for his work * A book for music professionals to do serious research work * A book for record sellers to better evaluate the value of different items * A book for the Awards fan to compare Céline distinctions with other artists * A book like no one else has done for any artist. * The concept seems to be ambitious, and when you see the page count, you'll think it's impossible to do... yet I have more than half of it already done and ready to publish. About the page count... who would consider seriously a "reference" book that is a hundred pages thick? Céline had a very rich career of 21 years, she started from nothing and ended as being #1 in two languages at the same time around the world. That cannot be related and expressed completely in a small book, at least certainly not with the factual reference it has. Reviews (4)
I do not understand why the Author goes on and on about his education, his affiliation with Dion, and the work he put into his self proclaimed "Best website ever on the singer". This indeed does not sell the book, it only builds up to what I have found to be a pointless factual boring book. This book is great if you are interested in chart performance and album sales. If you are looking for a great read on Dion's life stick with the Authorized Biography or the book that Dion wrote herself, much more entertaining. This book is much hype and leaves the reader totally dissapointed and confused about why they purchased it. Please don't waste your money!

Knowing that, I would recommend it to any fan with a real sense of humor, because believe me you will laugh your (...) off. Some highlights include the chapter about Michael Jackson (just the mental picture of Celine screaming out "He is too sexy for me!" about the plastic one is enough), another great story is about her and Rene getting it on in the hot tub with the video camera on. Just imagine Celine and Rene...or actually don't it's quite scary. Too bad his "informants" missed the time Celine tried to "commit suicide" by shoving a whole ball of wasabi mustard in her mouth while in Tokyo (official bio), that was a good one. In short Halperin is [lousy] at writing the facts, but boy is he a terrific creative writer. Definately worth reading but take it with a conspiracy sized grain of salt.

Book Description This revealing biography details the international phenomenon that is Celine. Born the youngest of fourteen children, she began performing at the tender age of five. At twelve, she made a demo tape that was brought to the attention of a respected personal manager named Ren Angelil, who was so impressed that he mortgaged his home to finance her debut album. His gamble paid off beyond anyone's wildest expectations. Their relationship blossomed, and they were married in December 1994, an event the Canadian press dubbed the "Royal Wedding." Jean Beaunoyer goes beyond the myth, beneath the tons of press releases and official biographies, and delivers the real stories, interviewing those who know Celine best. The result is a seductive biography that will fascinate Celine fans everywhere. Reviews (1)
