Women and Work
The book focuses on the problems that face women everyday in the workplace. Whether one is actually referring to the labor force as the workplace, or the home as the workplace is a huge part of this book. Our society accepts that women should automatically take on the responsibilities of child care and housekeeping in addition to a regular job (if they wish to even have a job on top of all these tasks). It's not easy for women, and Hesse-Biber uses several examples and hard data to back up this book.

Not only is the "average, white American supermom" discusses, but also the differences in race, class, and other factors that can influence women's place in the "working world."

The book is very useful and Hesse-Biber always takes a strong feminist perspective. One fault would probably be that she doesn't show both sides as best she could, but overall, the book is an enjoyable one. ... Read more

Often a relatively simple foreign currency option valuation model is used to address issues related to the pricing and hedging of such options. The results of many empirical studies document that real-world foreign currency option premia deviate from those predicted by the baseline model. In the first part of the book, it is shown that a noise trader model can help to explain the observed mispricing of the baseline foreign currency option pricing model. In the second part of the book, it is studied how policymakers can exploit the pricing errors of the baseline model. Excellent book about the exchange rate policy.
The exchange rate policy in Europe gained increased importance by the European Monetary System. This book examines the different ways of exchange rate determination in Europe, based either on fundamental forthe longrun relationship (cointegration methodology) or on purely statistical/econometric methodology for shortrun forecasting. Also, other objective of the book is to analyse the implementation of the exchange rate policy in Europe in accordance with the European Monetary System.
