5-0 out of 5 stars A must have if you want to get published!
I STRONGLY disagree with the reader from Sammamish, WA. Of course it doesn't sound as refined a studio recorded audiobook. It was recorded at a LIVE workshop! The recording is so good that it does pick up the occaisional audience cough, but it's better than most live recordings, such as Zig Ziglar or Anne Lamott. But enough about the sound quality.

Dr. Weimer gives advice on finding marketable ideas, proposal and query writing, and promotions that I've never read anywhere else. His advice advice on agents and publishers is down-to-Earth and very practical. Like the other reviewers, I found him to be very funny and the material to be really accessible. I can't imagine how anyone could listen to this tape and not get published. He just lays it all out for you in one, neat 90 minute package.

1-0 out of 5 stars Terrible Audiobook - coughs, sniffles, slurred speech
This is the worst audiobook I have ever listened to. The author is the speaker, and from now on, I will shy away from audiobooks that are not read by a professional narrator. The author seems nervous during the first half of the book, so you hear his every breath and sigh, and he even slurs his speech at times. You also get to hear coughs and sniffles. It was very hard to focus on the content due to the distractions on the tape. My biggest complaint is that the author does not annunciate when he speaks. If you must have this book, by all means get the book and not the audiobook! I was very dissappointed and would return it if I had the time to do so.

5-0 out of 5 stars Most useful writing information ever! Highly enjoyable!
I learned more from listening to this 90 minute audiobook, than from reading dozens of writing books. Books -- for whatever reason -- only take you so far. Most writing books only present the mechanics of writing and not publishing your work. Most books on publishing are discouraging.

Weimer's tapes cut through the B.S. to showed me, step-by-step, what I needed to do to get published: how to write a saleable proposal. And he's funny to boot! But best of all, he's positive and encouraging about your chances of getting published.

I found this extemely helpful and recommend this audiobook HIGHLY! Now if I can just find a good book on typing accurately!

5-0 out of 5 stars Informitive, useful and FUNNY!
This guy is a total hoot! But beyond the humor in this audiobook was a ton of very useful information that is completely unavailable in audio form. Excellent for snuffing out writers-block. I really enjoyed this audiobook. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Superb selling process for serious sales professionals.
Getting Into Your Customer's Head is an excellent compliment to SPIN Selling and Xerox' Buyer Focused Selling. Understanding the buying process from the customer's point of view is critical to a sales rep's pocketbook as we approach the Millennium. The old sales processes are not working in the information age. Kevin Davis does an excellent job identifying the new criteria and psychology of today's customer. This book is a must for serious sales professionals who are committed to excellence

5-0 out of 5 stars An ABSOLUTE "Must Have" book!!!!!!
Mr. Davis thoroughly outlines the key roles that all sales professionals should play daily. This book captures the very basic principles of buyer behavior at all stages of the buying process. Through "real life" examples in a variety of industries, Getting Into Your Customer's Head pinpoints the contemporary way to sell and to keep the customer.

5-0 out of 5 stars Business Development Coordinator - SPSI
Everybody TALKS about "Putting the customer FIRST", but Getting into Your Customers Head is a blueprint to do it best.

Kevin Davis' work is strictly for those who truly strive to attain the level of "Solution Provider" and Business confidant; the highly regarded "Go To" person to whom customers are comfortable in divulging all the intimate details.

"Getting into your Customers Head" eliminates the "Commission Breathe" that all prospects and customers smell a mile away, and turns them off from the moment you open your mouth.

Forget the rest. "Gettting into your customers head" is SPIN Selling, Strategic Selling, Consultive Selling, Visionary Selling and Solution Selling all rolled into one.

It's a methodology to operate at the highest level of sales productivity. Better yet, it's easy to read, easy to learn, and easy to use.

BUY IT, absorb it, "walk it", "talk it" and "OWN IT", and you'll generate more business than your company can handle.

5-0 out of 5 stars Drop all the other sales method books, NOW.
I wish I had read this sooner! No more sales cycle for me

5-0 out of 5 stars The book was great!
After 20 years leading sales organizations, both large and small, I thought there was very little new that I could learn about selling. And I was right! What I had been missing until I came across "Getting Into Your Customer's Head" was understanding how customers buy. "Getting Into Your Customer's Head" provides sales representatives with the ability to act like a consultant who is working in the best interest of his/her customers. A tremendous book which can help the entry level sales rep all the way up to the President of the company. ... Read more

Book Description

Completing The Equation For Extraordinary Selling Performance
The Most Comprehensive Development Program For Sales and Business Professionals
Used by top selling professionals worldwide, the Innovative Selling (TM) audio tape program is the most innovative selling system that delivers step by step, the skills, tools, techniques and actions which build sales champions from the inside out. This is accomplished by uncovering and building upon each person's natural strengths and talents that complement and enhance their personal style of selling.

The selling community is evolving. Where conventional selling programs never fully considered the personal abilities and values of each salesperson, reorienting the salesperson's selling approach around their strengths makes the selling process more natural, enjoyable and attractive to their clients.

You will be introduced to and shown how to develop the essential characteristics that the most successful salespeople posses, reinforcing the notion that who you are is more important than what you do.

You'll discover how to attract more clients by uncovering and eliminating the barriers that prevent peak performance. This will enable you to achieve desired results quickly and efficiently with less effort, further accelerating your level of awareness, growth and achievement.

Additionally, you'll learn the little known, yet essential skills of result oriented communication, beginning with effective questioning (Collective Questioning Process) (TM) and active listening, making the selling process more of a natural conversation.

Salespeople learn how to ask the kind of questions that get to the core of customer needs, their objectives and how to satisfy them, creating a deeper trust and lasting partnership that leaves each side victorious.

This provides you with the edge over your competitors, enabling you to align your selling approach with the buyer's preferred buying strategy and communication style, instead of having to push, manipulate or rely on generic selling strategies that have lost their effectiveness in today's rapidly changing marketplace.

The Innovative Selling (TM) program is the blueprint for extraordinary selling performance, mapping out the right path to success with the least resistance so sales professionals can dramatically increase their income, level of fulfillment and sense of balance in all areas of their life. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!! I wish I had followed these ideas years ago.
These tapes are literally filled with example after example of how to set and commit yourself to goal setting. And this is not boring, dry stuff. Greshes has a unique talent for making the goal setting process fun and straight forward - no punches are pulled. I had to listen to the tape over and over again because I suddenly realized how much of life I have missed because I had not defined exactly what I wanted out of life. Greshes inspires you to figure out "what you want" out of life, and then he shows you the real secrets of getting what you want - hard work, committment and perseverance. He inspires you to hang in there after your competion has dropped out.

His section on how to handle roadblocks is simply the best, the most entertaining and true to life story I have ever heard from a motivational speaker. Thank you, Warren, for the ideas and truths that I have begun to put to work into my life!! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great autobiography *and* how-to guide
If the rather egotistical title of this book doesn't put you off, you'll find a fascinating story that's really two books in one. Ron Popeil's infomercials are the stuff of pop culture legend; if you never got a chance to see them during the '60s, '70s or '80s, you surely have seen their parodies. But what's the deal behind Popeil and his "as seen on TV" success?

The first part of this book is Popeil's inspiring autobiography. Surviving a childhood filled with abuse and neglect, he discovered his gift as a salesman as a young man and went on to make a fortune. At the dawn of the television age, he saw TV's potential as an unparalleled marketing tool and grew his marketing empire even further. Ron Popeil's great contribution to retail, therefore, wasn't the myriad of gadgets he sold, but his style of selling on TV -- namely the infomercial.

The second part of the book is essentially a how-to guide for starting a business similar to Popeil's. Even if you have no intention of starting a retail business, the details of how such a business works are fascinating. Topics as arcane as patent protection, TV time buying, negotiating with retail stores for shelf space and financing (which forced Popeil into bankruptcy at one point) are all covered.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great insight!
Ron's book gives one a good overall insight into what it takes to get a product to market. His insights into selling to retail chains..., Infomercials, and getting a product on QVC are invaluable.

It's a great read with many pictures and short stories about his past hit products like The Pocketfisherman, Mr. Microphone, and GLH9 etc.

It also includes a great overview of his early life going through the school of hard knocks. ... Read more
