5-0 out of 5 stars My Son LOVED These Books!!!!
I have a 7 year old son who really only read when he was required to do so for school.
That was until he started reading the Captain Underpants books. HE LOVES THEM!!!! When he was told it was time to go to bed he said "can't I just stay up until I finish this book". The next morning the first thing he did was pick up the book and finished it.
Your kids (boys especially) will get a kick out of these books.
It is so great to hear your kids reading a book and laughing OUTLOUD!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Nevermind Harry Potter, Captain Underpants RULES!
Captain Underpants has been a blessing! My son would not read regardless of the title of the book. Until Captain Underpants! All boys love toilet humor! My only regret is that there are not more Captain Underpants books out yet. Dav Pilkey keep them coming!

5-0 out of 5 stars MR. booger boy
Captain underpants and the big bad battle of the bionic booger boy part 1: the night of the nasty nostril nuggets is one of Dav's best books of the captain underpants series. My favorite character is Harold he's funnier and braver when the fighting the booger boy. My favorite part is when booger boy is snot bad and senses all over the teacher Mrs. Ribble she didn't seem to mind. Have a good laugh with this book its fun

5-0 out of 5 stars These books are laugh-out-loud funny!
George Beard and Harold Hutchins have a little problem; they just can't help being themselves. And being themselves means pulling pranks at school, writing comic books that make fun of authority figures, and changing the lunch menu marquee to make rude comments.

Captain Underpants is a super-hero they made up in one of their comic books. Through a series of so-ridiculous-no-one-could-believe-it events, their school principal BECOMES Captain Underpants, and it's up to these two class clowns to make sure CU doesn't endanger himself. Incredibly bad puns abound. Each book has a copy of one of the boys' "Treehouse Comics." And there are plenty of gross jokes that grade-school kids love.

This is the sort of book that will get kids to read even if they otherwise hate reading. Enjoy!

5-0 out of 5 stars I can' wait to get it
I can't wait to get this collection. These books are the best books ever I'm on the fourth book, but I've read the rest of the books though. I can't wait for the next book. I have a friend that likes these books. I wish they made some games, toys, and a show. Lots of boys like this book at my school. If you like crazy books then you should buy these books. But you should buy them at amazon.com. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Students love this book!
The Adventures of Captain Underpants by author Dav Pilkey is one of the silliest books this teacher has seen. Both girls and boys enjoy this book. The story is about two charactors named George and Harold. The two are best friends and enjoy stirring up trouble around their grade school. George and Harold also enjoy writing a comic they call 'Captian Underpants.' Mr. Krupp is the principal at the boy's school. One day George and Harold pull some pranks that get them into a lot of trouble with Mr. Krupp. Mr. Krupp punishes the boys by making them do extra work and behave. The boys do not like this so they devise a plan to hynotize Mr. Krupp with a hypnosis ring. To make a long story short, the two boys hynotize Mr. Krupp into Captain Underpants and that's where the real adventures in the book begin. Readers will find themselves laughing outloud. Some of the funny things in the book include Dr. Diaper, flip-o-rama, and the pranks that George and Harold play. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has a sense of humor.

Bonus: there are plenty of gross jokes that grade-school kids love.

This is the sort of book that will get kids to read even if they otherwise hate reading. My 2 kids (1st & 3rd grade) just love this entire series. It's obvious that author Dav Pilkey had a lot of fun writing this book. Highly recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars The First In A Series Of Humorous Novels
First off, Dav Pilkey is a funny guy that writes great books. Probably his most popular novels are the Captain Underpants series. The Adventures of Captain Underpants is the first one in this kid-popular series. Here's the overall scoop:
George and Harold (two 4th graders) have a problem. They have a 'silly streak' a mile long. Sometimes, that 'silly streak' gets them in trouble. Big trouble. I'm not going to ruin the surprise, but I'll tell you that what's ahead has action, thrills and laughs.

Captain Underpants is funny and is a way to waste a half hour. Yeah, you can finish this in 30 minutes, 20 if you're fast. That's my only complaint about this book. It's unbelievably short, even if it is 121 pages. The chapters can't even be considered chapters because they're about 4 pages long. The pages have 1-5 sentences each, so the book isn't long at all.
You won't grow attached to the characters, but you won't hate them either. Another cool aspect of the book is the Flip-O-Rama pages where you get excitement just by flipping a page. I'm pretty sure you'll like this book, but if you're 20 years plus, you may find it disgusting and dumb. Because you don't think kid humor is funny. All in all, The Adventures of Captain Underpants started the series off good and grew into a series that enchants kids.

5-0 out of 5 stars A convert to potty humor
Potty humor has never been my thing but after reading a poll of children's authors naming Dav Pilkey today's funniest children's writer I broke down and bought the book. I was laughing so hard I could barely read it to my children. Okay, I'm exaggerating, but that is almost true.

Pilkey actually uses wonderful vocabulary words and intelligent humor along with his doo-doo words and diaper jokes. The mix is fantastic and shows that intelligence does not preclude silliness and the lack of intelligence may cause you to miss out on a lot of fun.

The illustrations are integral to the story beginning on page one. There are pictures (very amusing pictures) on every page which keep my 4-year-old interested and the flip-o-rama action is genius (in a low-tech sort of chapter book way.)

Don't be afraid to check out this book...you may actually enjoy it or even love it like I do.

4-0 out of 5 stars Undie head
The main characters of the book are George, Harold, and Captain Underpants. These characters are all very cool and funny. George and Harold always start the book out with funny. George and Harold always get in trouble for dumb reasons. Then in the middle of the book Captain Underpants comes in and (Well Mr. Krupt turns into him) and saves them or what ever is in trouble.
Teachers hate them two boys. They are always pulling pranks on the teachers. They find something dumb and make it funny like putting stuff in the drinks to make them grow...dumb stuff like that.
My opinion of this book is that it is really good book. The author Dav Pilkey did a really good job with the characters. He made them say the right things at the right time. ... Read more

Move over, Captain Underpants! There's a tiny new superhero in town.Undaunted by Principal Krupp's insistence that their essay assignment on goodcitizenship not be another comic book about the briefs-clad warrior, fourth graders George and Harold decide to invent a new superhero. Super DiaperBaby is born! It's up to our fearless infant hero to save the planet fromdiabolical Deputy Doo-Doo and his reluctantly evil pooch, Danger Dog ("I'm notreally evil. I'm just in it for the kibbles."). Several robotic battles, intergalactic digressions, and "flip-o-ramas" later, Super Diaper Baby has donehis duty, and George and Harold are in trouble yet again with their principal.Still, it was worth it, as any fan of Dav Pilkey's lowbrow, scatologicallyinclined "epic novels" (TheAdventures of Captain Underpants, Captain Underpants and the Wrath of theWicked Wedgie Woman, etc.) will attest. George and Harold's spelling isatrocious, their humor is straight off the grade school playground, and kidslove every page of it. (Ages 8 to 12) --Emilie Coulter ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars This book is hilarous!
I have read this book several times, and I laugh out loud every time I read it. Dav Pilkey has never written a book which didn't make me laugh. I like how the villain was trying to steal super powers, but instead he got turned into poop. When Super Diaper Baby 2 comes out, I'll be sure to read it.

5-0 out of 5 stars This book is recommended for everyone seeking a laugh.
Once again George Beard and Harold Hutchins, the boys responsible for the hilarious comic-book series involving the adventures of Captain Underpants, are up to their old antics. One day they're happily playing in the school gym, squishing ketchup packets under their skateboard wheels, and who should come by but that mean principal, Mr. Krupp. For punishment, the boys have to clean the gym floor and write a 100-page essay on "Good Citizenship," with strict instructions not to turn in a 100-page "Captain Underpants" comic book. As they mope over this assignment, George is struck by a great idea: Why not create a new super hero and write about him? The boys go home and create the greatest world protector ever known to potty training, Super Diaper Baby.

Fans of the toilet humor seen in the previous "Captain Underpants" books, or anyone who's a fourth-grader at heart, will laugh out loud at the villain that gets turned into a piece of poop and his newborn nemesis, the only one stopping him from world domination. The pages are packed with gross jokes, Flip-O-Rama, and subtle humor especially appreciated by older readers. While this book is recommended for everyone seeking a laugh, it should come with a warning: Read this book in private or only around people who know you --- anyone else might think you're crazy for laughing out loud, seemingly at random.

5-0 out of 5 stars Super Diaper Baby Rules!
This book is hilarious! This is a great book to read, and you can't put it down. I laugh everytime I read it. It may have some crude humor about human waste but what they show on t.v. these days is MUCH worse. A great book and worth many reads. A+++++

5-0 out of 5 stars The Funniest Book Ever
The Adventures of Super Diaper Baby is action-packed, funny ,and quirky. The character fight many foes such as the Robo Ant 2000 and Deputy Doo-Doo. The characters weren't that bright and they kept on making mistakes. The characters did nonsense things such as the spanking of life and switching signs. I think that you should read this book it's hilarious and exciting, and a little strange.

5-0 out of 5 stars Super diaper baby kicks butt!
I suggest this book for kids who like comedy. I think it's by Dav Pilkey but it says George & Harold. It's about a baby who becomes a hero by getting spanked. Also he has a arch enemy, Deputy doo-doo (If you ask me it sounds yucky). I think its awesome because of the story & how it goes. I enjoy it and I hope you do to!
P.s. It also has the world famous,Cheesey animation, Flip o rama! ... Read more

In the fourth "epic novel" by the wildly popular Dav Pilkey, young troublemakers George and Harold are back with Mr. Krupp, the Jerome Horowitz Elementary principal they previously transformed into the superhero Captain Underpants with their 3-D hypno ring. This comic adventure begins in New Swissland, where everyone has a silly name. ("Just ask their president, the Honorable Chuckles Jingleberry McMonkeyburger Jr. or his lovely wife, Stinky.") New Swissland, just southeast of Greenland, is the home of the inventor of the Shrinky-Pig 2000 and the Goosy-Grow 4000--Professor Pippy P. Poopypants. When the professor decides to pitch his inventions in the United States, he is laughed out of every institution of higher learning because of his unusual name. Frustrated, he decides to become an elementary school science teacher where the innocent children will, he assumes, be accepting and loving.

This is where his world collides with George and Harold's, who are not accepting of his funny name, but instead explode with laughter and promptly craft a new comic book called "Captain Underpants and the Pied Pooper of Piqua." This hilarious book will crack Pilkey fans up with tiny toilets of truth, evil gerbils, and even Cher's greatest hits. (The children--not notoriously good spellers--note: "All animal cruelty was simulated. No actual girbles were forsed to listen to Cher.") And what becomes of Professor Poopypants? He gets even, devising a method to convert all names into silly names. He creates a chart in which everyone has to use letters from their own first and last names to create a madcap moniker. In the end, George and Harold learn that it's not nice to make fun of people: "'Wow,' said Harold. 'I think this is the first time one of our stories ever had a moral!' 'Probably the last time, too,' said George. 'Let's hope so,' said Harold." --Flunky Pizza Chunks (Ages 8 to 12) ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Captain Underpants and Perilous Plot of Professor Poopypants
I am six years old. I liked it because it's funny and George and Harold are 2 kids and at the beginning they're always changing this sign! The sign one time said "Pick your own roses," and George and Harold turned it to "Pick our noses!" There's something called flip-o-rama, which makes it look like a cartoon! You see, Captain Underpants in the book, he's usually a teacher, but if he snaps his finger he turns into Captain Underpants. He only wears underpants and a red curtain with black spots! I think you will like it. That's all for now, folks!

3-0 out of 5 stars Captain Underpants
Gorge Beard and Harold Hutchines are trouble makers that could not go on the field trip because they got in trouble. Both of the boys had to clean the teacher's lounge and it had to be spotless by the time the children got back. George and Harold wanted to get even with the teachers so they did some mean things. And the teachers quit teaching. Then the children got a new teacher and when the teacher told his name, Professor Pippy P. Poopypants, the children laughed. He showed them the Gerbil Jogger 2000 to try to teach them science. After that Professor Poopypants got so mad he made a shrink ray and shrank the school. Then Captain Underpants flew down and fought against the robot. I like this book. Because the lauphter is so much. Anyone who likes fun books like it.

5-0 out of 5 stars This book was great
As you all know most of the Captain Underpants books have been great. Like in all the book something silly happens to one of the "soon to be villian", like in this book how Professor Poopy Pants gets made fun of for having such a silly name. So in order to get back at everyone he shrinks them all to itty bitty size so he can control them, changing all there names to something really silly. So that they can all share his horrible fate, But not if Captain Underpants can help it!

5-0 out of 5 stars Captain underpants
This book was my favorite book because Profesor Poopypant only trys to raise money but he looses money.
My favorite part is when the professor chages everybody's name to funny names and shrinks the whole school .
If my name was changed it would be Lumpy Gidget.
This was my favorite book.

4-0 out of 5 stars Revenge is sweet!
According to his website, Dav Pilkey did not like school. The
teachers kept sticking him in the hall, where he wrote and drew
to his heart's content. They told him he would never amount
to anything. Well, he has, and also got some really good revenge! Said revenge exists in every one of his books, which
are about idiotic principals and various retarded teachers. Hmmm...wonder where he got the models for his characters? The plots of all of Pilkey's books are goofy and bizarre, and involve the antics of two boys who...you guessed it...write and
draw comic books about their adventures in school. These books
are supposedly for children, but any adult who didn't like
school (which is probably the majority) will smile at a world
in which toilets chase and eat teachers, and principals who,
when hypnotized, chase bank robbers in their underwear. ... Read more

I bought a used copy of this book marked "in good condition," but when it arrived, all of the puzzles had been filled in. There was tons of writing. I had meant to give the book as a gift, but I ended up throwing it away. I was very disappointed.

5-0 out of 5 stars A++++ Material!
This book is great, including that it has ideas to make a comic book, ideas to make FLIP-O-RAMA, and a whole new Captain Underpants Comic Book "Hairy Potty." This is A++++ Material.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hey at least they are reading? Right?
My 8 yr old is usually glued into one of these books, I have read them and I guess you really have to be young to get into them, they are truly silly to the point of no return.
But, hey, as long as they are reading! She gobbles every Captain Underpants book she gets her hands on and the charter school she attends hands them out for reading so many books per term.
Good reading for kids!!!

As an activity book or comic relief, this book is purty good. As CU or a novel, forget it. Withoutta doubt, no plot, no humor, no CU!

Puzzles involve characters of CU books. There's even a create-a-comic! These puzzles are, well, fun!

BUT! Beware, CU fans, the series is falling, and I think we should cherish the CUs we have

Clearly one epic novel could never contain the hugely disgusting tale of the Bionic Booger Boy; it makes perfect sense that his story would spill out into Dav Pilkey's seventh epic novel in the Captain Underpants series, Captain Underpants and the Big, Bad Battle of the Bionic Booger Boy Part 2: The Revenge of the Ridiculous Robo-Boogers.

It all started in the sixth epic novel when Melvin Sneedly, a nerd, invented a "combine-o-thingy" that morphed Melvin, a robot, and (accidentally) mucus from his sneeze and created the monstrous Bionic Booger Boy. Unfortunately, in the chaos that ensues, the school principal Mr. Krupp's brain switches to Melvin's body and vice versa (making for a very unhappy school secretary). The diabolical Melvin becomes power-hungry when he realizes that he might be able to keep Mr. Krupp's Captain Underpants superpowers for himself! Can George and Harold stop Melvin from tyrannizing the school--and the world--in his new guise asprincipal and superhero?

Pilkey's heavily illustrated books with comic-book inserts, "flip-o-rama" animation, and loads of gross-out humor are guaranteed to delight elementary-school boys. (Ages 8 and older) --Karin Snelson ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A Guy In Underwear
This captain underpants is about a little boy and an adult that wears underwear. These two boys name George and Harold switched their prinsiple and some dorky kid name Melvi. George and Harold switched their brains accidently. So now Mr. Krupp their principal has his brain in Melvin and Melvin has his brain in Mr. Krupp's.
In this book I liked how George and Harold reacted when Mr. Krupp act's like a little kid, and how Melvin act's like is that he is mean all the time to others.
I would rcommened this book to others becaues to me I think this book is funny and very interesting.

5-0 out of 5 stars stop snapping your fingers?
Do you like captain underpants? Or do you unlike captain underpants? Either way I will still get you to like it even more. First you need some information if you have not read the books before. It is about 2 boys who get into a whole mess of trouble with captain underpants.
The book is about two boys named George Beard and Harold Hutchins remember that now. In a few books ago the two boys bought a hypno-ring. They hypnotized there principal to do anything they wanted, but the threw water on Mr. Krupp (the principal) and without reading the warning it said WARNING: do not throw water on anything
after it has been hypnotized by this ring. Because if you snap your fingers he/she will turn into captain underpants. On the other hand one of the teachers came into the office and snapped her fingers then the horror happened he tuned into captain underpants.
The two boys are not really good students because they get side tracked from anything dealing with school. All of the teachers think they all have a symptom like A.D.D.
You might be wondering who the main characters are well they are Harold Hutchins, George beard, and captain underpants. Some of his books are dog breath for young readers and captain underpants 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and many more books. Most of this book takes place at the school and outside. Some of the weak points in this book are when they have you read the comics because they just repeat what happened I would encourage anyone to read this book. Also if you like funny then this is the book for you.
Will you get hypnotized by two boys and turn into captain underpants?

5-0 out of 5 stars Revenge of the Ridiculous Robo-Boogers
In the second book, George and Harold told the robot never to come back. In this book, the people in the space shuttlesaw the talking toilets and the huge plunger robot. I liked this because the plunger-robot had killed all of the talking toilets.

5-0 out of 5 stars chuckles galore
This book is soooooooooooooooo funny I thought I'd split my side laughing. The one thing that makes it a little(just a little) worse than other C.U. books is the fact that it does not contain an INCREDIBLY GRAPHIC VIOLENCE CHAPTER(IN FLIP-O-RAMA!). But this book is still funny and really good. Parents might find the humor offensive but it is still hilarious and the toilet stuff is kept at a minimum. There is one part where George says (spoilers!), "Big BMs have always made me think of you," but that is practically the only joke of its kind in the book. One more thing: Those of you who have recently finished Nostril Nuggets and think this will finish off the saga, it won't. It leaves you hanging yet again with the prelude for what is shaping up to be the most exciting C.U. book yet! Stay Tuned!

Hooray for Captain Underpants! Everybody's favorite waistband warrior is back, ready to fight for Truth, Justice, and all that is Pre-Shrunk and Cottony. If you've read Dav Pilkey's first two comic epics, The Adventures of Captain Underpants and Captain Underpants and the Attack of the Talking Toilets, you already know the brave Captain is really just crabby old Principal Krupp, hypnotized into becoming the world's greatest superhero every time someone snaps their fingers. And of course you know the trouble-making hypnotists are none other than Jerome Horwitz Elementary School's two most notorious tricksters, George and Harold ("We rule!" "Me, too!").

Well, George and Harold--surprise, surprise--are at it again. The cranky lunch ladies quit after George and Harold fool them into baking super-volcanic krispy kupcakes that flood the school with gigantic green globs o' goo. Mr. Krupp finds replacements and fast, but he unwittingly hires the tentacled alien trio of Zorx, Klax, and Jenniferin disguise! Will they turn everyone in school into evil zombie nerds? Can George and Harold save the world before it's too late? All seems lost untilthe diabolical Zorx snaps his... um, tentacles in front of Mr. Krupp, and the power of wedgies comes to the rescue once again.

Captain Underpants's third outing is better than ever, with patented Flip-o-Rama animation and wacky bonus comics like "Captain Underpants--Wedgie Wars" and "Captain Underpants and the Night of the Living Lunch Ladies." (Ages 8 to 12) --Paul Hughes ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A Great Third Grade Book!
Captain Underpants and the Invasion of the Incredibly Naughty Cafeteria Ladies From Outer Space (and the Subsequent Asault of the Equally Evil Lunchroom Zombie Nerds
By
Dav Pilkey

This book is about three aliens who try to take over the world. The aliens are Zort, Klax, and Jennifer. The aliens pretend that they are lunch ladies. They go to work in the cafeteria of a small, Midwestern elementary school. These new lunch ladies begin serving strange things to the kids in the school and the new food begins to make the kids look and act strange.
George and Harold who are students at the school, notice that something weird is going on and they decide to investigate. They begin spying on the lunch ladies and they suspect that they are aliens. The tell their principal about what they think is going on, but he doesn't believe them. They take him to investigate. When they get to the cafeteria the lunch ladies grab Harold. He tries to get away, and he ends up pulling off the lunch ladies' gloves. They all see the ladies have tentacles not hands. Accidentally, one of the lunch ladies snaps her tentacles that made the principal turn into Captain Underpants. The rest of the story is about how Captain Underpants battles the evil aliens.
I think the author wrote the book because he has a crazy imagination and he wanted to share it with others. He also wanted to have his readers use their imaginations and be entertained. This book makes you laugh.
I liked the book because it was very funny. The events were exciting, too. The author was really good at giving a lot of descriptions. I could see, in my head, what was happening. I thought Dav Pilkey did an especially good job at describing the villains.
I would recommend this book for others to read. I'm sure anyone would have a good time reading it. I think this would be a good book for kids who are in second or third grade.

5-0 out of 5 stars Warning! This book is very exciting book
Captain Underpants And The Invasion of the Incredibly Naughty Cafateria Ladies From Outer space (and the Subsequent Assault of the Equally Evil Lunchroom Zombie Nerds) by Dav Pilkey is a fiction story with exciting characters that keeps you reading until the end of the book. The main idea of the involves George and Harold who tricked the Cafeteria ladies made them mad. So they stopped making lunch and went to other school. Then an evil cafeteria ladies started to make lunch and made the students into zombie nerds with their potion. But George, Harold, and Captain Underpants destroy the evil and helps everybody. You should read this book because it's very exciting.

4-0 out of 5 stars THE MAN IN UNDERWEAR
I think this book is cool it first I was bored. But when I read more I felt that I got into it. The book is about a principal that turned into Captain Underpants, when someone snapped their finger.
The setting is in school in the present day. The character is Captain Underpants, Harold and George. My favorite character is Captain Underpants because he fought bad guys.
I recommend this book to every funny books. I especially recommed this book to people from 11-15 years old.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good book
I like Captain Underpants because he always gets in trouble. But sometimes he helps people. I like the book because I have it but it is not that funny. The flip-o-rama is very bad because I always rip the pages.

Two kids named George and Harold made up Captain Underpants. In this story Jerome Horwitz Elementary's lunch ladies quit. Then three evil aliens from outer space took the job. They planned to take over the world. They turned everybody into zombie nerds. Then Captain Underpants came and he was surrounded. He went to the top of the roof where the spaceship was. He went into the spaceship. You would have to read it to find out the rest. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars You'll have to read the book!
George and Harold haven't changed much since the last Captain Underpants adventure: they still wish school could be just a little more lively. When their truly evil teacher Ms. Ribble announces she will be retiring and forces the class to write identical sappy cards to mark the occasion, the boys have a better idea: they'll write one of their comic books featuring the heroic Captain Underpants instead, and demonstrate their amazing creativity.

In the comic strip, Ms. Ribble becomes the Wedgie Woman. She wreaks havoc by bestowing extremely painful wedgies on her enemies until she is undone by the valiant but tubby Captain Underpants. Needless to say, Ms. Ribble does not appreciate the boys' creative efforts and they're sent off to the principal's office once more.

But the adventure certainly doesn't end there. It just so happens that in the office, the school secretary has left an unfinished draft the school's schedule on her computer. The opportunity to liven things up by rearranging the schedule proves irresistible and the boys make a few minor changes while they wait to be reprimanded. They also talk Mr. Krupp, the principal, into signing a blank card. The schedule changes and the card come together (as do Mr. Krupp and Ms. Ribble). Before they know what's happened, Mr. Krupp and Ms. Ribble are engaged, despite their objections. The wedding is a disaster and suddenly The Wedgie Woman, who started out as a figment of George and Harold's collective imagination, becomes real. Will Captain Underpants be able to vanquish his foe once again? You'll just have to read the book to find out!

5-0 out of 5 stars Funny & sloppy epic novel
I love this book. Captain Uunderpants shows that not all authors have to be boring and dignafied. Dav Pilkey has a way of taking toilet paper and turning it into the funniest, most comical thing you ever read. George and Harold are not your average 9-year old, trouble-makin kids. They make their own comic books and have an unusually great variety of crude toilet humor. I love the mispelled words and crummy, unbalanced, and uneven sketches of comics. George and Harold also have a secret, they once hypnotized their principal [Mr. Krupp] and turned him into Captain Underpants. With each comic book that George and Harold make Captain Underpants becomes stronger. If in their Comic book Captain Underpants gets a knee injury by falling dow a flight of stairs, when Mr. Krupp turns into Captain Underpants, he will be limping. This book was a perfect, well blended, humourous Dav Pilkey book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Captain Underpants and the Attack of the Talking Toilets
I read some of the other reviews and one stated that this was not a book for adults - true, it's not one I would have purchased solely for my own enjoyment - but enjoy it I did. My 7 year old son and I bought the book at the book fair and this is our second go round with it as a bed time book. We enjoy it as much or more each time we read it together. My 4 year old daughter can't wait to get her own Capt Underpants book. Thank you Mr. Pilkey for a book the whole family can read together - I am waiting impatiently for the next Capt Underpants adventure, I may even let the kids read it when I'm done...stay tuned................

5-0 out of 5 stars Totally outrageous and ha ha!
This book is the greatest book I have ever read because it is very amusing. When I heard that they made the toilets come to life I was laughing like crazy. I can't believe that George and Harold glued everyone to their seats and everyone was stuck. I liked the Pasty 2000 because all you have to do was put in a picture and the machine makes the picture come to life. I felt sorry when someone snapped their fingers and the mean old principal became Captain Underpants because Captain Underpants ruins everything. I give this book five stars because it is one of the greatest and funniest books ever. The best part was when George and Harold got to be principal for the day.

5-0 out of 5 stars captain underpants
George& Harold are back in an epic challenge to stop evil talking tiolets destroy earth.this book is so funny with lots of adventure.
I like it and so do the kids at school.

5-0 out of 5 stars "More Flip-O-Rama!"
"Their teacher, Ms. Ribble might say that George and Harold were 'disruptive' and 'behaviorally challenged.' ...But if you ask their parents, they'd probably say that George and Harold were smart and sweet, and very good-natured...even if they were a bit silly at times. I'd have to agree with their parents."

Dav Pilky's affectionate, "epic novel" further chronicles the adventures of George and Harold and their principal, Mr. Krupp, who turns into heroic "Captain Underpants" whenever someone snaps their fingers. Pilky unapologetically presents toilet jokes, body part jokes (the boys switch a sign from "pretty armchairs" to "hairy armpits"), and brazen disobedience at school. That's a warnng to potential buyers who can't stand this kind of juvenile humor.

But the book is for juveniles (and those in touch with their inner juvenile). Pilkey's silly jokes, gimmicks (FLIP-O-RAMA), and self-referential chapter titles are inspired insipid fun, and not nearly as violent as the Three Stooges. More mature children will appreciate Pilkey's skewering of the traditional kids' book and his celebration of low-tech, non-glossy gimmickry.

Oh, and not that it matters, but the evil Talking Toilets are defeated by the "Photo-Atomic Trans-Somgobulating Yectofantriplutonic-zanziptomiser" (or PANSY). 139 pages of fun and lowbrow humor. By the way, just in case you need to defend this book from literary watchdogs, tell them that "Publishers Weekly" called the first book in the series ("The Adventures of Captain Underpants") "the funniest book of the year."

5-0 out of 5 stars TRA-LA-LAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! AGAIN!
"Captain Underpants and The Attack of the Talking Toilets" is a good book, and I heard that there's two new movies called "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets," and "The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers," well if you are going to make these movies you should make this great book with satire of a movie too, and i'll give it 5 stars, just like I give this 5 stars. ... The sixth "epic novel" in Dav Pilkey's hugely popular series explainsthe awful truth about Captain Underpants (he is really the schoolprincipal), details "the night of the nasty nostril nuggets," offers up"the unnecessarily disgusting chapter," and even explains how "you can'thave your cape and Edith, too."

George and Harold are "C" students (and bad spellers), but they are verygood at "saving the entire planet from the nasty forces of unrelentingevil" and also at ketchup-toilet pranks. Unfortunately, they can't saveMelvin Sneedly from getting paddled by his bionic hamster. But, frankly, they wouldn't want to, because besides being the school brainiac, Melvin is also a tattletale. When his robot-making hobby backfires horribly, Melvin transforms himself into the Bionic Booger Boy instead of a bionic superboy. Can Captain Underpants save everyone from this "greenish, glistening behemoth?"

Pilkey is the superhero of boy humor, stuffing his heavily illustratedbooks with comic-book inserts, "flip-o-rama" animation, and all thegross-out jokes an elementary-school kid could stomach. Fans will wantto get their hands on Captain Underpants and theBig Bad Battle of the Bionic Booger Boy Part 2: The Revenge of theRidiculous Robo-Boogers as well. (Ages 8 and older) --KarinSnelson ... 5-0 out of 5 stars This book will get your son to read!
This is the book that got my 7 year-old son to love reading. What more could you ask for? It was a great reading experience for both of us to share. We took turns reading out loud together, and thoroughly enjoyed laughing at all the silly adventures of the characters. I think part of the charm of this book (to boys) is the language--words like "booger" and "poopie" are hilarious when you're 7. The Captain Underpants series of books is great because it lets boys be boys while they learn that reading can be fun.

5-0 out of 5 stars Smart satiric humor
First, specifically regarding The Night of the Nasty Nostril Nuggets: Our whole family loves Captain Underpants stories, and we were afraid no more were being written, so it was great to discover the Big, Bad Battle of the Bionic Booger Boy, and realize we'd get to read a part 2 later on. This book tells a typically outrageous story of the boys' good intentions gone awry, when a silly nerdy character named Melvin (hey, not disparaging nerds, been called one often) accidentally turns himself into a pretty icky monster, and the usual twists and turns occur, leading to a cliffhanger that is resolved in Part 2, The Revenge of the Ridiculous Robo-Boogers.

The whole Captain Underpants series is wonderful. I was happy to discover it a couple of years ago, as my son was a very good reader, but completely uninterested in books. This series changed that completely. And I appreciate the gentle pokes at sexist principals, well-meaning but myopic school librarians and slightly suspicious cafeteria ladies; just a few of the personal memories that led me to homeschool my own children. George and Harold get into all kinds of trouble, but they really are kinda warm and sweet, especially as you get to know them throughout the whole series. Anyone who sees these funny, well-thought-out books as negative or subversive is really not getting the message at all.

5-0 out of 5 stars WAY grosser than the others...my son just LOVED it :)
My son has been reading this series from the beginning and even though he is beyond this reading level he loves these books just as much as he ever did! I like to let him read things just of the fun of it and he sure thought this book was fun...with a capital *F*...

He wanted to read the book out loud to me so I was able to get the full effects of the *nasty nostril nugget* theme... I hadn't heard him laugh out loud so much, in a long long time. It was very nice to see.

The book is set up like the others in that george and harold write cartoons through out and my son just loves the cartoons. The main characters were all included although some of them were a bit different than in prior books. Some of them also had more or less involvement in this book.

I think this book was very heavy on the whole *nostil nugget/mucus/gross out theme. At times it was a bit much for me but for him...it was total and complete enjoyment. He was roaring with laughter the entire time.

There are so many books that are hard or painful for him to read in school. So many books he is required to read that are either a challenge or quite sad... I think it's important that he read books like this to remember the simple joy of reading... and this book, for him, was joy.

1-0 out of 5 stars Captain Underpants Lost Its Humor
I'm a huge fan of the Captain Underpants books. Ever since the fifth book came out, I've been dying for the sixth one to come out. When I finally got to read it, I was disappointed. First of all, George and Harold's teacher is now extremely nice. She was much funnier when she was extremely mean. Second of all, Melvin's hamster is now a regular in the series. New characters always make things worse, even if it is a hamster. Third of all, the book focused too much on Melvin. Not enough George and Harold.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best book ever!!!!!!!!!
This is the best book ever. I also own part 2. I own #1,3,,and 5. I can't wait for the next book. You can find more Dav Pilkey books like Ricky Ricotta's Mighty Robot. Let's get back to the book. This book is funny. I like the Flip-o-rama in this book. After I get all the books I am going to read them again. After I read all the books I'm going to start reading Ricky Ricotta's Mighty Robot.I am going to get the collection of the books. 4-0 out of 5 stars I love Captain Underpants
I love the activities in this book. The comics made me laugh until I wet my pants. The jokes and comics are hilarious. It's not my most favorite Captain Underpants book but I still love it. Though the jokes are a lliittttlle overoffensive.

3-0 out of 5 stars Captain Underpants books contain free spelling lessons!
I shared the concern of a previous reviewer about the multitude of misspellings in the Captain Underpants books. However, instead of forbidding my 9-year-old son from reading the books (which he loves), I turned the Captain Underpants books into a spelling lesson. I have my son mark the misspelled words and then write them correctly. If he's not sure of the spelling, he looks it up in the dictionary.

1-0 out of 5 stars A BIG concern
I am not a parent or a teacher. I heard good things about this series of books from public radio. However, I was surprised and distressed when a 10-year-old I know with significant learning disabilities was reading the book with me and I discovered that many many words in this book are spelled WRONG. I can only imagine this was intentional, a style of writing, I guess... Perhaps giving the book an urban "edge"??!!! But I found it quite distressing. In my view, parents and teachers should be warned about this... I see it as very questionable in a book for school aged kids still learning to read. ... Read more
