5-0 out of 5 stars its getting better and better
firheart and thunderclan return for a new kinda mellower book. tigerclaw has been exposed and booted out of thunderclan, making firheart new deputy but he can't shake the felling that his old enemy is still out there, waiting for the chance to strike. as if he had enough problums he has to deal with his stubborn nephew and apprentice cloudpaw with a dark secret, the lose of his best friend graystripe who left the clan to be with his kits in riverclan, and his strange fellings towards sandstorm. unawair of his suroundings, the forest grows drier and hotter every day and every one prepares for the rising storm

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Warriors Book Yet!!!!!
This is definately the best Warriors book yet. This time, Tigerclaw is banished (finally) from ThunderClan, but FIreheart knows that he's out there somewhere, waiting to strike. But that isn't the new deputy's only problem. Bluestar isn't as strong as she used to be, and Fireheart has to hide her weakness from ThunderClan. On top of all of that, Fireheart has to deal with a disobediant Cloudpaw, and learns from Cinderpelt that Sandstorm might like him a little more than Fireheart thought she did...
Plus, the forest is burning up from heat, and its only a matter of time until there's a fire!

4-0 out of 5 stars Not as good as I thought
I thought this book would be the best book I ever read but it actually wasn't as exciting as I thought but it is still very good. The end was a real cliffhanger.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best book on earth!!!!!!!!!!!!
Right when I read the prologue of the first book, I instantly fell in love. I have read the whole series, and each book just keeps getting better and better. They're better than Harry Potter, and any other book you can think of. Most people think it is stupid because they're talking cats! Take my friend for example. She made fun of me because i love the books, but when she started them she became just as obsessed as i am ( well, i don't think anybody can love the books as much as i do ). You have to read this book. you will love it. Almost every thing happens in this book. but read the first 3 before you start, or you won't understand it and you won't know most of the things they talk about.

5-0 out of 5 stars Review/spoiler
Great! Fireheart has responsibilities of deputy now Tigerclaw was chased out. Yet danger still lurks in the forest with Tigerclaw andBrokentail's fellow rogues. But Cloudpaw is mysteriously getting fatter and when Fireheart learns he was going to Two-Leg place for food, Cloudpaw is kidnapped! Fireheart goes alone to find Ravenpaw and talk to him. Ravenpaw tells him that Cloudpaw was taken as a kittypet to the two-legs. They rescue Cloudpaw. Later, Fireheart realizes a fire broke out in his camp. Many escaped, but still cats died. Halftail had breathed in too much smoke. Yellowfang tried to save Patchpelt. But he died as well. Fireheart talked to Yellowfang in the last moments of her life. The rest of the camp got shelter in RiverClan territory. Graystripe, Fireheart's old clan mate that had gone to RiverClan to be with his kits, wanted to come back. But Bluestar didn't allow him, for she had seen her kits grow up in another clan. Rain breaks out and the cats go back to their home. ... Read more

Instinct told them that the way home lay to the west. And so the doughty young Labrador retriever, the roguish bull terrier and the indomitable Siamese set out through the Canadian wilderness. 3-0 out of 5 stars This book was good
The courageous journey of three animals running away from home in search of their family. A young Labrador retriever, the roguish bull terrier and a indomitable Siamese cat set out no a journey though the Canadian wilderness in search of the family that loves them dearly. The three house pets must survive without being eaten buy bigger animals, starve to death, and exposure.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is the best book ever
The Incredible Journey is the best book I have ever read. It is the best suspense book, too. I think Sheila Burnford is the best descriptive writer I've ever read. This book is about two dogs and a cat . They have to go two hundred and thirty miles to find their owner at a river canoeing . The owner left them home and had somebody look after them . The person showed up late and the animals went to find their owner. The animals have to deal with wild animals like bears and porcupines. They also nearly starve while trying to be with their owner at the river. All in all, I think you should read this well-written book. You will find out how much animals love people and it teaches us to work together. There is so much more in this book. So, if you like suspense this is a great book to read!

4-0 out of 5 stars Super cuddly
This tells the story of the daring escape and heartbreaking trials of three ultimate cyborg assassins: a dog named Bandit, a cat named Tinker, and a rabbit named Pirate, armed with missiles, poison gas, state-of-the-art computer technology, rapid fire chain guns and unbreakable exo-skeletons. Wait, that might actually be We3. The stories are somewhat similar.

3-0 out of 5 stars A Cat and Two Dogs
I came to the book by way of the Disney movie. The book is better than the movie. Dog and cat lovers will enjoy the book most. There isn't much in the way of action.

1-0 out of 5 stars Very Boring Book!
This book stinks so bad. I had to read it for school and I would never read it if I had a choice. It was very boring because it had very little action. If I had it my way, I would have stopped reading this book after the first page. It starts out with a guy on his rocker with three animals by a fire. The animals are supposedly not his and they go out searching for their original owners. I would not recommend this book to any human beings alive. This book is very boring. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Painful to read
I must agree with several of the other reviews. This book was translated with no thought to rhyme or flow. That's part of what makes Dr. Seuss books attractive to kids. It is a joy to read the translated version of "Green eggs & ham", but the "Cat in the hat" is positively painful.

2-0 out of 5 stars I agree with Ms. Denise Caramagno
The spanish version of this book is pathetic. We also have "Huevos verdes con jamon" (Green eggs with ham) in spanish and it is delighful to read it.

At least, in this edition you still have the english version to read.

I think this book needs a re-edition with a more accurate translation.

1-0 out of 5 stars El gato en el sombrero/The Cat in The Hat
When I first bought this book in Spanish (many years ago) the translation was so awful that I wrote the publishers begging them to improve future editions. I recently saw the book again and not a word has been changed-it's still a abomination.

2-0 out of 5 stars What good is Dr. Seuss if it doesn't rhyme?
The Spanish portion of this book doesn't rhyme. I have seen other Dr. Seuss books in Spanish that do. This one is a direct translation of the English. I think it would have been a lot more effective to stray from the English enough to make the Spanish rhyme too!

5-0 out of 5 stars I'm teaching my children Spanish . . .
(...) The point was made that the translator could have done a better job had he used a little license to play with the words and make it read with an improved cadence and rhyme. However, I really wanted a literal translation! My kids speak English and are learning Spanish -- they know the English version well. It is helpful to have a direct translation because the kids can pick out the words they do know and fill in the rest because of the context --- this only works if the translation is exact/literal. The English version is also written on every page to help with that process of word-deciphering. For me, this was a very good choice. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars My little one loves it
Okay, *I* may think it's boring and *you* may think it's boring, but my child ... loves this little book. It is frequently the one he chooses to have read to him, perhaps because each page is interactive.

One, of course, must pat the cat. Then you can extract money from the ATM and later put it into daddy's wallet. You can imitate mommy making a list, scratch and sniff the gingersnaps, help Neddy and Martha see-saw and play peek-a-boo, and squeeze the little bear before going to bed.

It is a fun, quiet little book that your child will enjoy. And you will too -- not because it's exciting, but because the time you and your child spend looking through it will be happy and peaceful.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is my toddler's favorite book.
At first glance, you may not be impressed because the illustrations are a little dated. However, it is a great interactive book for toddlers. My daughter loves this book (and that's what it's all about). We also have Pat the Bunny. I'm buying Pat the Puppy tonight. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Reading Rainbow Classic!
I first saw this book on PBS's Reading Rainbow. I purchased it immediately and have been delighted ever since. The detailed illustrations are absolutely terrific and on some pages you could actually spend hours counting the millions of cats. This book is a true classic as it has been around for generations. An old man sets out to bring back a cat for himself and his wife. Instead, millions and millions of cats return home with him. Their home is soon overrun with felines and some drastic action has to be taken. All of the cats leave except one small kitten. And they lived happily ever after. The Reading Rainbow books are wonderful. After reading this book, I hope you agree. Highly recommended.

Millions of Cats Book Review

I think you should read this book by Wanda Ga'g because it is a very good book. It tells that some ugly things can be cute. This story is about cats. A man has a hard time deciding which one he wants. They are all cute. After they drank the water, they left. Then he saw one left behind a plant and it was the cutest of them all. So he took it .
He and his wife gave it love and took care of it...

5-0 out of 5 stars A TERRIFIC BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!
"MILLIONS OF CATS" TELLS THE STORY OF AN OLD WAOMAN AND AN OLD MAN THAT ARE VERY LONELY. THE OLD WOMAN TELLS HER HUSBAND TO GO AND FIND A NICE CAT FOR THEM. SO THEM MAN SETS OFF. BEFORE LONG, HE FINDS A WHOLE HILL COVERED IN WONDERFUL CATS. HE CAN'T DECIDE WHICH IS THE BEST, SO HE TAKES ALL OF THEM HOME TO HIS WIFE. WHEN HE GETS HOME HIS WIFE AND HIM ARE FORCED TO DECIDE WHICH IS THE BEST. SO, TO DO SO, THEY ASK WHICH IS THE BEST AND RUN INSIDE AWAY FROM THE CAT FIGHT. WILL THE CATS DESTROY THEMSELVES?
THIS IS A TERRIFIC BOOK WITH LOVELY ILLUSTRAIONS. IT TEACHESA LESSON: nOT ALWAYS THE TALLEST, SMARTEST, OR PRETTIEST IS THE BEST. NO WONDER IT WAS A 1929 NEWBERY HONOR BOOK!! FOR AGES
3-12.

4-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful illustrations -- odd story
The illustrations more than the text make this story. If you stop to think about what happens to all the cats it's a bit disturbing. A similar and more delightful book is Cats for Kansas.

5-0 out of 5 stars Millions, billions, and trillions but not gazillions?
I'm ashamed to say that prior to a children's literature course I took, I was completely ignorant of the works of Wanda Gag and her elegant, "Millions of Cats" until the ripe old age of 25. As it stands, the book is amazingly timeless, accompanied by beautiful pen and ink drawings illustrating each and every scene. There are plenty of details per page for kids to point out on their own and the words will not tax the average child. The daughter of a Bohemian painter, Gag was a superb artist in her own right. Nowhere else will you find this as evident as in "Millions of Cats". It remains one of the best American classic picture books of all time. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Fire and Ice
Firepaw, now a fully fledged warrior, is back for more. His best friend, now Graystripe, joins him in warrior duties. Together they find WindClan and bring them home (Hint: Along the way they meet a long-lost friend). Also, Fireheart and Graystripe get apprentices. Fireheart is overwhelmed with training the she-cat apprentice, Cinderpaw, and trying to convince Bluestar of Tigerclaw's treachory. As a result of Cinderpaw's eagerness, Graystripe nearly drowns in the river. A silver she-cat, Silverstream, rescues him, which leads to love. As Fireheart gets more and more frustrated with Graystripe's breaking of the warrior code, he feels extremely lonely with his best friend turned against him. Meanwhile, Fireheart finds his long-lost sister, who is about to start her kitting. After a horrible accident, Cinderpaw is nearly trampled to death. Fireheart's sister, Princess, hears the sadness in his voice, and gives Fireheart her first-born kit to take back to ThunderClan. He took the kit back, and ThunderClan almost denied the kit a home because of the greencough and whitecough sickness raging through the camp. The kit is named Cloudkit, and remains with ThunderClan. As Fireheart and Graystripe try to find where their loyalty lies, a battle is creeping up on them. At the end, Graystripe forgives Fireheart for letting Silverstream go in the battle. Tigerclaw, unfortunately, also saw Fireheart let the she-cat go, and is now watching Fireheart with hatred and mistrust. Will Fireheart reveal the truth about the evil deputy? READ THE DARN BOOK!

5-0 out of 5 stars I LOVE THIS BOOK AND THE ENTIRE SERIES!!!!!
This book is the best book in the WORLD!!! Better than Harry Potter, better than Gardians of Ga'Hool I LOVE it! It has about 300 pages and I read it in one day! I have read EVERY book 5 times!!! I have pre-ordered every book available. It is for ALL age groups.(k-4 have a parent/gardian read it to child. 5-aduld will love it too!)
Thank for reading my review!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Sequal!
I picked up the first book a couple days ago beayse I felt I should read a variaty of books including books with animals as the main characters. So I therefore bought the first book - and was pleasently supprised. So I bought the sequal the next day and I'm glad I did. I thought the first one was good and I should continue reading the series to have something to read. But this is so much better than I thought! I thought that this was a really good book even though two things really annoyed me.

First let me tell you what this book is about:

Fireheart is a new warrior in the Clan. And the Clan really needs some new warriors. The rivilaries between the tribes are growing feircer. And there's still that one question: Where's WindClan?

But that's not the only problem. Loyalities have began to switch. Fireheart became reunited with his long last sister. And she's pregnet. And that's not all! Here's the coolest part: Fireheart gets an apprentice! Oh! And I almost forgot! There's a member of the Clan... who cannot be trusted... dun, dun, dun...
And the Clan needs all teh trustworthy warriors they can have especially since NoLeaf (winter) is coming and there are new kits to feed...

There are two things that annoyed me in the book: One thing is that the secret of Tigerclaw still lingers on throughout this book and it still wasn't solved. Also. I wont give away the plot but... the author does something which makes me so mad at him! You'll see when you read it. WHICH YOU WILL! ITs a good book! Go out and get it. Hard covers worth it. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars The first "Hairy Maclary" book
This is the first of the "Hairy Maclary" books. And while it's not the best "Hairy Maclary" book (my favorites are HAIRY MACLARY'S RUMPUS AT THE VET, HAIRY MACLARY'S CATERWAUL CAPER, and SLINKY MALINKI), it's an essential "Hairy Maclary" book; it's the one where all the major characters are introduced. In fact, that's pretty much all the book is, an extremely entertaining introduction--and that's not a bad thing at all! We meet among others, Harry Maclary "from Donaldson's Dairy" (some sort of terrier), Bottomley Potts "covered in spots" (dalmation), and Muffin McLay "like a bundle of hay" (English sheepdog). Once the dogs are all introduced, they head to town where they run into Scarface Claw, "the toughest Tom in town", who frightens them all away. My son, who is two and a half, really loves this book. He is always on alert for Schnitzel von Krumms (dachschunds) and Muffin McLays when we go out for walks. Also, we've been inspired from time to time to make up our own rhymes about these dogs. Bitzer Maloney, for example, "loves to eat baloney". And Hercules Morse "eats roast beef, of course". It's hard not to love a book that can do all that for you!

5-0 out of 5 stars You'll love it too...
Kids love this "building" story - Hairy Macleary from Donaldson's Dairy (a tangley little black dog) goes for a walk, and is gradually joined by lots of other dogs with impossible rhyming names. The dogs increase until Disaster! - they meet Scarface Claw, the toughest tomcat in town. (A screetchy meow is necessary at this point.)

Lynley Dodd has a wonderful tumpity-tum rhythm throughout the book that makes it great fun to read. It also makes a good flannelboard for storytimes (not too many pieces to make, either).

The only caveat is that if you buy this book you will be made to read it over and over - although it's fun to try and remember all of the dogs' names: Schnitzel Von Krum (with a *very* low tum), Bottomley Potts (all covered in spots), Hercules Morse (as big as a horse)...

Ignore the editorial reviews above - they relate to "Hairy Macleary : rumpus at the vet" and "Dragon in a wagon"

5-0 out of 5 stars hairy maclary
As an expat New Zealander now living in the US I am delighted to finally be able to get these books here.
I have been reading them to kids for 15 years and now have a son of my own and he already has the entire collection of Hairy Maclary related books (14 and Counting....)
This is one of my all time favourite books. Every child I have read or given these to has become addicted to that scruffy black dog. His is an everyday New Zealand kind of life. The illustrations are typical NZ scenery, great for those who have been there and remember fondly the backdrop to these great tales.
Lynley Dodd has also written several other great kids books, so check her out on the web. The other reviews tell you how great the book is, I wanted to let you know that if you love this book there are many more to discover.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hairy Maclary from Donaldson's Dairy
My sons - 4 years old and 18 months both adore this book. The rhyming text keeps them engrossed as I animatedly read about the adventures of Hairy Maclary and his friends. My 4 year old asks lots of questions about the different dogs that are introduced, so it is also very educational.

4-0 out of 5 stars Straight back home to BED!
Our toddler WILL NOT GO TO BED until we've done Hairy Maclary from Donaldson's Dairy, or more recently, some of Hairy's other exploits (especially Hairy Maclary's BONE and the CATERWAUL CAPER).

Unfortunately for yours truly, these are pretty dull books to read night after night, so you have to be very imaginative about how you read them: I find allocating each of the dogs a different accent (sometimes rotating accents each night) or spoonerising the text as you go along keeps the old fellow happy as the young one is still entranced.

On the other hand, the rhymes kick along quite nicely, and the illustrations - which are an unintentionally dead-on representation of the mind numbingly mundane world of semi-rural New Zealand - are great.

The final line - I don't think it's spoiling anything to reveal that it's "straight back home to bed!" - is an unfailing cue for young sir to lie down, close his eyes, and refrain from screaming the neighbourhood down should father deign to switch off the light. As there is nothing else on this dear earth I have found which will do that, Lynley Dodd has truly earned my heartfelt gratitude and respect.

My one literary nitpick is that Dodd has wholesale nicked the character Scarface Claw off the great New Zealand cartoonist Murray Ball, whose long-running newspaper strip "Footrot Flats" featured a timid sheepdog and its travails with a truly ferocious, semi-feral tomcat by the name of Horse.

And as for being the "toughest tom in town" - pshaw - Horse would have Scarface, any day of the week. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Book!
I had to read this book as an assignment in my Children's Literature class at West Virginia State College. I am so thrilled that I picked this book to read. This book is a delightful story of a dog/cat relationship. It tells of a unique friendship that out of the ordinary. This illustrations in this book are excellent. I would recommend this book for every child to experience.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Bedtime Read!
A delightful little book about charming pets in a series of natural and daily life "adventures" that are sure to please and calm a child. The illustrations are interesting and will hold attention. The narrative and illustrations are calming and will quieten the active child at any time of the day especially at bedtime.

5-0 out of 5 stars Another winner from Mr. Putter and Tabby
Cynthia Rylant and Arthur Howard have created a winning combination in the Mr. Putter and his cat Tabby along with their quirky neighbors, Ms. Teaberry and her good dog Zeke. This latest offering in the series is laugh out loud funny. Mr. Putter and Tabby try to make soup while they are continually pestered by Zeke in his desire for a little attention. Yes, it is a simple story but it's timing is great and the illustrations as always are great. My four year old daughter loves this book and it leaves her in tears of laughter.

This is about the 6th book we bought in the series and they have all been great. It is nice to see stories that involve older people and have such winning story lines. I cannot recommend these books strongly enough. With the holiday season still in mind, check out Mr Putter and Tabby Bake the Cake - A great Christmas book ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Comforting during the time of loss,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Although this book does provide comfort to young children during the loss of a pet cat I am concerned about the authors choice of words which seems to imply reincarnation. I do not know if this was the intent but it does concern me.

Our little Digit was a part of our family for 12 years and she will always be my "forever cat"; but, when she came into my life I never felt that we had "been together before, in a far away place and a long ago time ".

My daughter seems to be comforted by this book at our time of loss but I do not think I would have purchased this if I had known this before hand.

5-0 out of 5 stars Forever An Angel
I bought this book after losing my best friend of 15 years, Munchkin.
After reading this book, it helped me feel that my Munchkin is still with me in spirit and that someday I will meet up with her again. During these grief-filled days, something so simplistic brought me So much comfort. I read it over and over again. I recommend this book to anyone who has lost a dear feline friend, it will comfort you and held solidify your belief that the kitty you lost is really not gone, for she is forever in your heart and truly your forever friend.

5-0 out of 5 stars A wonderful book for those who have lost a friend.
After losing my 1 year old cat to FIP, I was having a very difficult time dealing with my grief. My veterinarian gave me this book, and although reading it brought even more tears, it's eloquence in describing the eternal bond between a person and their "forever cat" really does aid in the healing process. It's a simple story, one that is familiar to every cat owner, yet you'll find yourself reading it over and over, and each time you close it you'll feel a little bit better than you did before. Highly recommended for those grieving a feline friend.

5-0 out of 5 stars A GREAT BOOK AFTER LOSING A KITTY!
Our kitten who was 10 months old recently died of an untreatable disease. I have two children (ages 6 and 10) so I was looking for a book to help them. Well this book also helped me. WOW! This book describes how every kitty has a guardian angel and the guardian angel helps it find it's "forever person". But, the day comes when kitty is at the end of their earthly life and then it becomes a "forever cat" and rejoins it's angel. The part I liked most was how the book describes how your "forever cat" wants you to be happy even if it means bringing a new kitty into your life. And the "forever cat" will be happy because you still have so much love to share. This helped because my children were afraid to get another kitty because it might make our "angel kitty" mad. It goes on to describe how the angel takes care of it until the day comes when the "forever person" and "forever cat" meet again across the angel bridge. I know the review says for 6-8 year olds but I think every adult pet owner will find comfort in this book. Blessings be with you!!

5-0 out of 5 stars A BEAUTIFUL, INSPIRING BOOK!
I firmly believe that not only cats and dogs, but people, have an angel watching over their shoulder. No one ever promised us that life would be easy or forever happy and free from pain, disease, heartbreak and loss. Those aspects make up our life, but somewhere deep inside we must find the strength and courage to go on. The universe in its mysterious way is telling us that there is something better in store for us, a light at the end of the tunnel not yet seen.

This book is an inspiration for everyone. Just like the feline kingdom, we will travel many roads and overcome many obstacles before we find a place where we feel we truly belong. It is often said that when someone we love dies and move on, they will watch over us from a world beyond ours. It is that same Guardian Angel who will guide us through the times when we feel we cannot go on, and show us that life with all its unexpected twists and turns can still be beautiful.

I highly recommend this poignant, touching and inspiring book. It is highly deserving of far more than five stars. ... Read more

I used to play Catwings all the time. Because winged cats are truly a fantasy you can't miss. There are colorful pictures too. The stories and their adventures are really heartwarming. If you read the whole series, you'll watch them grow and you'll grow to love them. Full of wonderful words, Catwings are the best!

5-0 out of 5 stars The very best of Margaret Wise Brown
At Last! A reissue of this outstanding book, and most importantly, with the original illustrations! This book cleverly incorporates the concept of color mixing, but the lyrical verse and captivating pictures are what made it a part of our family's fabric. (our 4 adult children are now ages 35-45 and still remember every word) I had about given up ever finding it again. Our family copy, which is well over 30 years old, has been loved to loose paged pieces. This is just in time for our newest two year old grandchild, and I am getting multiple copies, JUST us case it disappears again! Oh wonderful kittens, oh Brush and Hush!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Primary Colorful Classic
There is this storybook. It's the one you always want your parents to read aloud, over and over again. When you go to sleep, you want to become part of the poetry, and help the two kittens, Brush and Hush. Carelessly, and by no fault of their own, they transform the world by haphazardly dumping and mixing the colorful paints from their endless supply of cans. The pages in my old book from the 1950s are becoming brittle and yellow, but it still hold a special place on my bookshelf. The imaginative illustrations and charming story are an endearing part of my childhood. It brings back wonderful memories to this day.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Color Kittens
The book The Color Kittens is about these two kittens Brush and Hush together they are the color kittens. The color kittens love to make different colors, and they love to paint everything with these different colors. The lesson that this book teaches is how to identify the different colors and what colors to mix to make even more. This book is for ages two through five. The reason that this book is for ages two through five is because those are the ages that kids are learning their colors. I think the book was good because it teaches kids their different colors. I t also teaches what colors you need to mix together to make more colors. Which I think is important for kids to learn at these ages. I personally enjoyed the book when I was younger and now that I older.

5-0 out of 5 stars A little-known classic!
My 4 1/2 yr old son says that this is his favorite book right now. I also remember having this read to me as a child. We've owned it now for a couple of years, and I never get tired of reading it over and over. Definitely one of our better children's book purchases.

5-0 out of 5 stars tears in my eyes
I had forgotten all about this wonderful book. I just came across a copy in the library, and it brought tears to my eyes. I took it back to my office and made all my co-workers listen as I read. I cannot convey the joy that is in my heart. I have found my long lost kittens. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A perfect book for all Pembroke Welsh Corgi lovers
Anyone who is fortunate enough to live with a Pembroke Welsh Corgi will appreciate this book. The love the author has for her Corgis shines through in both the writing and the wonderful drawings. I'm so pleased that it is coming back into print.

5-0 out of 5 stars So glad to see it's still in print
This was my all time favorite book when I was a child. I went on line, hoping to at least find a used copy for a friend's baby... and am thrilled to find that it is still in print! It's a great children's story, full of wonderful characters, with great illustrations. Very charming. I loved it as a child, and am glad to get to replace my old copy with a new one for my son.

5-0 out of 5 stars Another winner from Tasha Tudor
Nothing pleases me more than to open the pages of "Corgiville Fair" and marvel at Ms Tudor's ability to create a magical, mythical world of corgis, goats, cats, bunnies and boggarts. The story is so dear, the illustrations are truly inspired, and the boggarts are personalities a reader will never forget. This is a treasure for any child's or adult's library; as a child I wanted nothing more than to be able to live 'west of New Hampshire and east of Vermont' in the wonderful, cozy world of Corgiville.

5-0 out of 5 stars Tasha Tudor and her beloved corgis
Not merely one of the finest children's book artists, but one of the finest naturalist artists period. This book well showcases her sense of whimsy as well as her eye for detail. Add to that her obvious love for her corgis, and you've got a book that is a can't miss!

5-0 out of 5 stars funny story, talking animals, and an old-fashioned fair
The book states that Tasha Tudor writes as if in an 1830s timeframe. Indeed this is an old-fashioned country fair. But this fair is in a town populated mostly by corgi dogs, cats, rabbits, and boggarts, a fictional type of troll. This is a large format book and some of the illustrations go across both pages. Illustrations are very detailed and beautiful. It takes much more time to look at the pictures and analyze them than it does to read the text. This is set in an agricultural rural setting and the annual fair is said to be the biggest activity of the year. It is apparent this was written a while ago as a few of the characters are smoking--this is something that just caught my eye. Tudor adds some funny text that will go over the children's heads but will give the adult a laugh. I love that it is not politically correct as it mentions the Corgiville Congregational Church: modern books probably wouldn't mention religion at all. There is also a scene where the not-so-nice character feeds the racing goat lots of food and tobacco to make him sick so he can't race--today that would be painted as animal cruelty and again probably wouldn't be allowed to be printed. Anyway, it is great fun, entertaining for the adult to read and beautifully illustrated. A must have for fair lovers. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars What an Amazing Read!
Wow, this was such a great book! It's about Mia, a 13 year old girl who can see colours in words, letters, and sounds. She has to deal with normal things like fights with her friends, and annoying siblings. She names her cat Mango because the colour of it's purrs is mango.

I don't usually cry when I read books, but when **something** happened (read the book!) I cried... that part was really sad!

5-0 out of 5 stars The "Space" Between Us
Every turn of the page offers another peek into the mind of a 13-year-old girl named Mia. She sees colors related to numbers, letters and sounds but has kept this a secret ever since she was little and realized that other people do not see things the same way.

Once she finally admits this to her family, and after she sees a series of doctors, she realizes there is a name for her condition: synesthesia. This eye-opening book accurately depicts the condition, explaining how it is different for those who have it (called synesthetes) and that it is not a disease so it is not "catching" nor can it be "cured."

I was truly moved by Mia's story and Mass' writing. I -- a well-read grown woman who rarely if ever cries while reading books, listening to music, or watching television, movies, or plays -- cried in the middle of a store while reading this book.

If you are a pet owner or sensitive to animal storylines in books, you 1) will need Kleenex; and 2) should not read full reviews or summaries of the book which spoil the ending.

If you enjoyed this novel and wish to further your education / read more stories for children and teenagers about afflictions, I highly recommend Multiple Choice by Janet Tashjian and Kissing Doorknobs by Terry Spencer Hesser.

5-0 out of 5 stars 5 STARS FROM A NOT SO AVID READER!
As you sit in front of your computer screen, observing the slew of reviews posted on this popular website, I urge you to stop for a minute and please read what I about to share with you. I don't even know you, but I would be thrilled if you could read and absorb the experience I had when reading, "A Mango Shaped Space" by Wendy Mass and hopefully this will encourage you to pick up this book and enter a more colorful world. Now, I am not an avid reader I must admit, but when I find a great book...I am sure to share the title with as many friends as family as possibly. For they know when I say it's a wonderful book, it is! My beloved French teacher has the beautiful gift that Mia shares with us, in "A.M.S.S." My teacher told us the first day of class, she saw our names in color as she read from the class roster. We all thought she was kidding, you know those "first day of school teacher jokes" But when I read this book, the respect I had for my French teacher grew and I was more than curious to hear about her experience of living in a world more colorful than the average person. I gave her my copy and she told me as tears rolled down her cheeks that this book portrayed the world she lives in so vividly and accurately. So come on, read this book, from the first page to the last your eyes will glide across the black words and your heart will be encompassed with colors you never knew existed. Happy reading!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Book
This book is my favorite book! It's a must read for all realistic fiction and fantasy lovers. It's really cool. Mia sees all these different colors and shapes and when she's 8 she figures out something's wrong with her. When she's 13 she tells her parents...

5-0 out of 5 stars wow!!
i loved this book sooooooo much! untill i read it i had never heard of synesthesia, but learning about it through mia's eyes was amazing!like the book says, synesthesia is not a disease or problem.
this book had such an impact on me that i have now read 2 other books on the topic(not even half as good as A Mango Shaped Space). often when i read someting i try to imagen how the boaring black and white font would look for someone like mia. for days after reading this book i felt that this world that i live in is so plain. ... Cam Jansen has another mystery to solve. This time it involves catnapping. Cam and her family are on vacation in the city. Esther Wright, an elderly lady, informes the bellhop that her luggage and her cat, Tiger, are missing. A bellhop had taken them and said he would deliver them to room 613. However, her luggage and her cat never arrived. Mrs. Wright just has to find her beloved Tiger. Cam has another mystery to solve. Will her photographic memory help her?
This is an excellent book for the young reader making transitions into chapter books. The ink sketches are wonderful and help the reader keep up with the story's plot. Also, an added feature to this book that young readers will enjoy is a questionaire at the end of the book which tests their photographic memory based on one of the sketches in the book. This is number 18 in the Cam Jansen adventures. I would recommend this book for use in the classroom and at home reading.

5-0 out of 5 stars Sweet Kitty!
Whether you're teaching your kids to tell time or not, this book is so charming! The illustrations are beautiful, and perfectly capture the lazy/hungry/cuddly nature of cats. It works as a picture book for younger children, with not too many words on a page, and I imagine it would be a good teaching tool as well.

4-0 out of 5 stars Cat lovers delight
This pleasantly simple picturebook features a nicely illustrated cat who describes her day. A foldout moveable clock allows children to match the hands of the clock with the time of day being described by Mother Cat. The pictures are soothing and the work is both comforting and fun.

5-0 out of 5 stars Warrior #1 Into The Wild
The Warriors books are the best!!!! The first book is my favorite, but the others are just as good. The best part about these books are there's alawys something exciting happening. Well, it all starts out with a kittypet named Rusty, the one day he is tempted to go into the forest and does. Then he meets a couple of wild cats and they want him to join their clan(Thunderclan). Then he becomes a apprentice and trains to become a Warrior. This book is exciting because my favorite animal are cats and when I was reading this book in couldn't keep my eyes off of it. It can also be sad, but I can't tell you why because you need to read the book. I have read book... #1 Into The Wild, #2 Fire And Ice, #3 Forest Of Secrets, and right now I'm reading book #4 Rising Storm. I love reading these books and I hope you enjoy reading them yourself!!! I LOVE ERIN HUNTER!!!!!!!!!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing
This book overwhelmed me with passion for Rusty. One day Rusty was sitting on the fence of his home when his curiosity got the better of him, and he ventured into the forest he endlessly stared at his entire life. Suddenly a wild cat attacked him as he was stroling along. Using all of his witts he eventually through him off and sat starring at his opponent who lost all of his aggresion at once. The cat introduced himself as Graypaw, an apprentice warrior. Then the clan leader, Bluestar, of those wild cats came out of her hiding spot. Obviously she witnessed the entire thing. Suprizingly she praised Rusty for his good fighting, in spite of his origin as a housecat, and asks him to join the clan. Throughout the book, Rusty (or known as Firepaw when he joins the clan) is faced with difficulties from his past and present. He strives to shut out the jokes about him, and tries his hardest to become a warrior to protect his clan. As I read the book I was litiraly jumping with excitement. Anyone who loves cats will at least like this book.

Have you ever wondered what goes on in the ouside world? What wild cats are really doing when they are not being raised by twolegs? If you are wondering, I have the book for you! Warriors: Into the Wild is a fascinating work of fiction! Children more than nine years of age will love Firepaw in this story as a roll model! Yet, do not read to younger children, the deaths and violence may be to much for them. I love this book, and plan on reading the next one. 'Till next time!
