What great ideas!
As a K-6 computer teacher, I am always looking for new ideas to share with my students. This book has great computer ideas for kids, especially those in K, 1st, & 2nd grades. Best of all the project instructions can apply to any wordprocessing & painting program! OH MY GOSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
John Peel did an amazing job on this series, more importantly this book. The action, suspense, everything was amazing. He has his own unique view of the future, and he turned it into a book!! This was awesome!!!

An amazing conclusion to the amazing 2099 series...
The final battle. Clone versus clone. Good versus evil. The entire world's fate hangs in the balance for both Tristan and his evil clone Devon. One of them will get out of it alive. But will Earth?

John Peel spins off the last threads of this amazing and thrilling series that have sadly been a mere 6 books. It's amazing, though, how such a short series could be one of the best series out there. 2099 is one that won't be forgotten ; the entire saga, is one that anyone must own. From

the amazing first book DOOMSDAY to the suspense- driven TRAITOR to the astonishing and surprising end of FIRESTORM, the series has its twists and turns that are unforgettable. I hope Mr.Peel continues this series somewhere later on, at least to write Books 7 and 8 which anyone can be sure they'll be amazing. What happened with 2099 is special ; only a man like Mr.Peel, and his imagination, can do that to a series.

Greatest Book!
This was definitley my favorite book of the 2099 series! It is also my favorite book, ever. I hope Mr. Peel writes a 7th book! I am currently looking for his address to write him, but back to the topic, his book was wonderfull! It had every characteristic a great book should, action,hate,retribution,happiness,and love. I definitley recomend all readers to read this not sci fi, thriller!

An excellant conclusion to the thrilling 2099 series.
2099 is possibly my favorite science fiction series right now, and I am sorry that this is the last book currently planned. Fortunatley, the ending leaves it open for there to be more books, if the author decides to write them. This book opens with Tristan and Genia trying to stop Tristan's evil clone, Devon, from completely destroying all life on Earth. Tristan is also threatening the moon, which has been colonized, and the government there must find a way to save everyone. And the evil organization of Quietus is trying to take over the Mars colony, where the other clone, Jame, lives. Tristan and Genia temporarily stop the destruction of Earth, but then Devon comes after them, and Mora, Tristan's ex-girlfriend, turns traitor and joins Devon. Tristan and Genia are now in the final showdown with Devon, as the fate of the world hangs in the balance. I highly reccomend the entire 2099 series. It is one of the best young adult science fiction series out there. John Peel is an excellant writer, and if you liked 2099, you'll like his other series, Diadem and The Outer Limits (inspired by the television show). ... Read more

I love to read this book because you get so pulled into the book. This book also teaches a little bit of internet chat safety rules. So if you like cyber space you should read this book.

The third book in the thrilling P.C. Hawke Mysteries series.

Bezo's is a Bozo
This book is horrible. It completley leaves out how Jeff Bezos doesn't have a clue about customer service. It is this reveiwer's belief that Mr. Bezo's is a self absorbed turd that shows no concern for his customers.

Amazon's customer service is a joke.

short and to the point
I picked up this book from the library for a research paper about Amazon.com for my Microeconomics class. "Amazon.com - Get Big Fast" was on order so I decided to see if this could help me get started. The writing is easy to follow (as this is a children's book) and gives background about Mr. Bezos (his youth, etc.) as well as information about the beginning of Amazon.com. My favourite bit was the struggle to choose the name for his company -- "Abracadabra" was deemed too long and "Cadabra" was thought too similar to "Cadaver." There are black and white photos in the book (images of Bezos, the Amazon River, etc.). I enjoyed the book and think that it (and others in this series) are a perfect foil to the dusty biographies that kids (including myself) had to read in the past. Sometimes one has to wander into the children's section of the library (or bookstore) and take a break from long-winded books (not that I don't enjoy them as well). Besides, all the basic ideas from big management books are in here -- like the idea to emphasize customer service. :) ... Read more

This book is about an assignment that uncovers the truth.
Joan Lowery Nixon's novel, Search for the Shadowman, is a book that I liked and recommend for others to read.The novel is well wrighten, is easy to understand and, keeps the readers intrest and has a well devoloped main character. The main character, Andy Thomas, recives a class assignment to explor his family's history. He isn't to thrilled about unearthing his deceased realitives backrounds. Using the easist reasource possible, his computer, Andy logs on as "Hunter" and begins his search. Soon his queary sent on the internet changes to a pursuit to know more about his infamous realative, Coley Joe Bonner. Andy's quest for the truth about Coley Joe acquants Andy with DrPR. The sharing of an old newspaper article by DrPR. invesulls Andy's discovery of the buried truth about Coley Joe. Andy's school assignment results in his discovering amazing information about the dead as well as the living.

Search for the Shadowman,is a faboulous book!
In Search for te Shadowman by Joan Lowery Nixon the main character Andy Thompson gets an assignment from his history teacher and begins a search for a fellow in his family tree known as Coley Joe. A mystery surrounds Coley Joe's being crossed off the family tree by a betrayal of trust. Only trouble is Andy doesn't know think Coley Joe is guilty and sets out to prove his innocence, with some tough research.

I liked this story 's use of the computer,E-mail,library research and detective footwork to help Andy solve the mystery about Coley Joe. More than the research I enjoyed learing about Andy as a person by the way he handled his assignment. Andy showed his and faithfulness to his research, his family and his friend by achieving his goal of clearing Coley Joe's name, making his family proud of their ancestor and still honoring his friendship with J.J.

Even when Andy's research could have given him fame and fortune, it would have also hurt his bestfriend and his family. Andy chose the only honorable way to end the long lost search for the shadowman.

A fun way to learn to do research
An excellent mystery for 10 to 12 year olds. It shows how to research via the Internet as well as libraries. In addition it is a great introduction to genealogy.

This book rocks
This book is filled with suspence. Andy's search filled me with many questions. Joan Lowery Nixion ties the book up with an extrodanary ending. This book mixes a little history into a mystery. I would recemend this book to anyone who loves reading mysteries. GREAT BOOK

Our children's librarian recommended this book for my 9 year old. I read it yesterday. (He hasn't read it yet.) I really liked the book. It made me really want to know the truth about Coley Joe. An excellent book for the young reader.
Join the net force explorers in their latest adventure when something is amuck at the local fencing studio.

This series of books is aimed at the younger reader and as such tend to be easy books to read. Even so they keep you coming back for more and it's hard to put them down once you start.

This was a good paced book, easy to read, yet captivating at the same time. This one is worth the money, buy it today you won't be disappointed.

GREAT!
This book was, once again, a great Net Force book. Maj, a net force explorer, gets a visitor from a different country, whose dad works for the government. to keep his invention of a microp that destroys harmful micro-organisms out of the wrong hands, he sends it to america with his son. Now, the people who are trying to capture his dad, reverse the programming of the microps through the net. now maj and the other net force explorers are in a race against time to save their friend from the harmful microps. this book is a lot of fun and i highly reccomend it!

The future of the Net we know?
These Net Force books are all short, easy to read, and interesting. Like the others that I have read, this one fulfills the promise of the creaters. In this book, Maj's life becomes even more interesting than usual when a younger visitor comes to her home - as an escapee. Her interaction and work with other Net Force Explorers adds character and excitement to the book. Creative design on the Net and action-adventure combine to make this one more in a good series to get and read, for both parents and children. If this is how and what the 'Net' will become, I am all for it. I especially like the values transmitted by the authors in these books. I only wish that I had, again, a younger child to share these with now. I plan on keeping them for my future grandchildren. Maybe by then these books will read like 'history'. An Outstanding Resource for Teachers and Parents

Although not intended as a teacher's aid, I actually like it just as much as "Hit Enter", which was designed for teachers. Both books have been a big hit at our school (Marymount, Paris).
