Rock the Best
Linda Kranz has created a virtually new art form for families. Of course, rock painting is an ancient art, but how many families have been having fun lately creating stone pizzas, footballs, and messages of love? The color photography and multiple examples are great and very appealing. No one could ask for directions that are more clear and precise.The best part of the volume may well beall the great patterns at the end of the book. This is a terrfic family book.Highly recommended. BOTH kids and parents will love this one!

I really love this book!
I love this book! It's great! For those people who ran out of clay, try White Rose or Michaels for Sculpey III, or any well-stocked craft store would have it. BYE!

Started an obsession!
I received this book 3 years ago as a Christmas gift, and it sparked such an interest, that I began making gifts for every occasion, and then branched into selling my creations. There's plenty in this book to keep an adult interested! By the way, to the reviewer who expressed dismay at the difficulty of finding replacement clay, look for Sculpey III at your local craft store - that is the type of clay used in the book.

I really like the activities in this book but I think that most of them are to hard for anyone below the age of ten. I still have trouble with the details even though I am thirteen. you also need to find a different red color. It stained my clothes and all I did was drop it on them. Other than those complaints though, you did a good job. You need to make another book of things to do with the clay. Sincerely, Alicia LeCroy

This book is really great . It keeps me busy for hours .
I have made a lot of the things from this book . I thought the authors were really great . They made everything specific and really down to the point .The ideas were wonderful . I love making things for my friends with this book and they love recieving them ! I just run out of clay too fast ! I have enjoyed many of your other books including Braids and Bows . It was also one of my favorites . I think you have a really great selection of books . Keep up the good work !

An absolute winner!
I had no idea how much fun clay could be until I purchased The Incredible Clay Book! From beads to food to wizards, even finger puppets- this book has it all! It also takes you through detailed instructions of whatever object you're trying to make and gives you helpful hints and techniques along the way. Beginners or master builders of clay will love what this book has to recommend because it offers simple projects such as bug tacks and even some advanced projects like millefiori beads. Although there aren't lots of designs to choose from (15) they are well-chosen with full-color pictures and easy directions. Be Matisse for a day
This is a wonderful book to get the children close to the artist. It gives a very clear overview of the author and the key features of his technique. It also offers a hand's on project for the children to become Matisse for a while. Simple instructions, a short and wonderful review on the artist's life and work make this book easy and enjoyable. My children (8 yr old, 5yr old and 3 yr old) and I had a smashing afternoon composing a work of art to show papa, grandma, and the teachers. Amazon, I'm returning it!
I wish someone had written a review on this "Activity Pack" before I bought it.This is a disappointment and I can't believe that itcosts $9.95 at regular price.The pack has a 10 page brochure on Renoirwith beautiful pictures by the painter and very few words at all.You cando better if you just go to the Library and check out a book on Renoir.Anybody can just copy a Master's paintings and make the pages of a booklook beautiful. As far as the activity notebook, it is worthless.Don'tbuy this book! Unfortunately I bought two of these books, Renoir and Monet. Do not Waste Your Money. Buy Construction Paper Instead.
What a dissapointment! The text is a boring compilation of well known facts. There is no instructional leflet on creating collages as has been claimed in the book description. The art set includes only 6 sheets of construction paper. Get Ernest Ruboff or Mike Venezia books to introduce children to the greatest artists. Boutan's book has no originality to it and should have not ever been published. I have ordered most of the books in Boutan's series of 'activity' books and will be returning all of them. Get a set of construction paper at a dollar store and do not waste your money. There are better choices.

Art Activity Pack-Picasso by Mila Boutan
This was a fantastic book! I shared it with my children (ages 7 and 10) and they both enjoyed it. It includes a biography of Picasso and also pictures of his work. It also includes a collage activity. This has been very helpful to me being a volunteer "Picture Lady" at the elementary school. I can share information about the artist and also share an art activity with the class. There are other artists in the Art Activity Pack Series as well. I have purchased all of them! Excellent Book, Even for Adults
This is a great book. I originally picked it up at the library, not realizing (when I logged on via modem) that it was for kids. It has some great, fun projects, colorfully and appealingly illustrated, which makes it great for kids and informative for adults as well. I went out and bought a copy shortly afterwards. I've made one project in it (the jester hat), which turned out GREAT, and have others planned. Good, simple, fun and appealing book--well done!

Draw beautiful spirographs
What is a Spirograph?

A Spirograph is a curve formed by rolling a circle inside or outside of another circle. The pen is placed at any point on the rolling circle. If the radius of fixed circle is R, the radius of moving circle is r, and the offset of the pen point in the moving circle is O, then the equation of the resulting curve is defined by:

x = (R+r)*cos(t) - (r+O)*cos(((R+r)/r)*t)
y = (R+r)*sin(t) - (r+O)*sin(((R+r)/r)*t)

For examples of spirographs and how they are affected by R, r, and O check out the website: wordsmith.org/~anu/java/spirograph.html. Using the Java applet at the site, you can vary your spirographs by changing R, r, and O.

"The Spiral Draw Book" is accompanied by a fixed circle template called a 'frame,' and four moving circle templates called 'wheels' that have many offset points (holes within the wheel), so you can draw many different sizes of spirographs. The frame and the wheels are made of sturdy, translucent plastic in shades of blue, green, purple, and yellow. Three stubby gel pens are also included that supposedly change color as you draw.

The book itself is spiral-bound with heavy-duty glossy pages on which the artist is encourage to complete printed drawings with spirographs. For instance, there's a flower pot with stems and leaves that can be finished by drawing spirograph flowers.

Directions for use are clear and well-illustrated. The only tricky part (for me) was applying enough pressure to the frame so that it stayed in one place, but not so much pressure that the wheel stopped moving.

Lettie Lane Paper Dolls
I loved paper dolls when I was a little girl and hoped that this collection would entice my 7 year old daughter into that world. The paper dolls in this book are beautifully done, however, these were impossible for a 7 year old to successfully cut out. These dolls require skills of a much older child. Are there 12 year old girls willing to play with paper dolls anymore? If so, this collection is an accurate portrayal of a Victoriana family preparing for a wedding.

Wonderful fun
I have a four year old son and he was so excited to do the crafts in this book. We started the day we got it and it has been wonderful. All of the projects use simple household items and are simple yet fun. No Martha Stewarts required! I am buying 3 more for friends and to donate to the preschool we attend. ENJOY!!
