5-0 out of 5 stars Not just for babies
Although this book is geared for babies and toddlers, both my 3 and 5 year old daughters absolutely love it - as well as the sequel "Ollie is Stomping." The story is so simple and cute but with the few words and wonderful illustrations, Ollie emerges as a strong and unique personality, and Gossie and Gertie as his sweet sisters. I highly recommend this book.

Book Description

Epossumondas has a very important question: "Mama, why don't I have hair on my tail?"

And wouldn't you know it, Mama can tell him exactly why possum tails are all pink and naked and funny looking. Her story's a doozy! It goes way back to Epossumondas's great-great-grandpa, Papapossum. When hungry Papapossum and his growly ol' stomach meet up with wily Hare, cranky Bear, and a persimmon tree . . . well, it's one hair-raisin' adventure!

Renowned storyteller Coleen Salley and Caldecott Honor illustrator Janet Stevens team up again, drawing on the Uncle Remus tradition and their own wild imaginations to expose a hilarious--and important!--moment in possum history.

5-0 out of 5 stars My son wore this book out from use!!!
I ordered this book from Amazon, because my sons had literally wore the spine off of this book...we had purchased the first book at a bookstore while on vacation and they absolutely loved it. It is has the perfect context for a 4-8 year old imagination with information in the form of statements that start with "I didn't know that...". Example, "I didn't know that sperm whales have the largest brains of any animal." I remember one time we sat down and read chapters of this book for 90 minutes straight...my oldest son was only 4 at the time and it kept his attention for that long and probably would have longer if mommy had not got tired.

If I could only choose one book to recommend buying for a younger child, I would recommend this book. My oldest son calls it his "big book of everything." I have a feeling that before my sons outgrow this book, I am going to end up having to purchase another copy to make up for this one being used so much.

I have two sons and they both have enjoyed this book tremendously. This is one of the few books that not only entertain my sons, but that I also find enjoyable to read with them.

5-0 out of 5 stars Just what we were looking for!
My six year old son asked for a book about wild animals and a book about snakes for Christmas. I found this book by chance in a local bookstore. It touches on a range of beasts and creatures including snakes, bugs, big cats, whales, dinosaurs, sharks, spiders, monkeys, and more. It is written in bigger print, filled with lot's of interesting information and facts, and has just as many great pictures. My son really enjoys this book. After opening his Christmas gifts, this is what he sat down with first, and continues to sit down with often. It has been a big hit. My husband and I have enjoyed reading it to our children, learning new facts along with them in an entertaining way. It is and excellent book and well worth purchasing.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great book!
my 2 year old has been obsessed with Stanley and animals for a long time now. Ordered the book last week and he has yet to put it down. He eats with it, even sleeps with it. I can't even count how many times we've read it or he's gone thru it on his own. Definitely a keeper.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great but not Absolutely Everything
My three-year old son is obsessed with Stanley books and the TV series. It's the best show on television for kids. He knows a ton about all things zoological, thanks to Stanley, Dennis, Elsie and Harry. We've been waiting months for the GBBOE to come out. He's thrilled. The book is wonderful, but would be even better if it had a section were the animals are alphabetized, like in the television series, where they all sing out the letters until they get to the first letter of the animal in question. This would reinforce learning the alphabet. I also had hoped that there would be blank pages or sections where he could draw or paste in his own pictures -- again, as in the TV series, where the book is a kind of scrap book. It'd also be fun for the book to come with stick-on tabs to mark favorite pages. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I Wish That I Had Duck Feet
One of my children's all-time favorites. I first read it to my daughter when she was 2 and she insisted I read it to her several times a day. This went on for months. I then began leaving off the last word of every other sentence and as I pointed to it, she "read" it from memory. I credit this book with helping to give her a love for reading. By the time she was 4 she could read it on her own (not just memorized). I recently asked my 10-year-old son to list his favorite books from his early childhood and this one was at the top of the list. I think the zaniness of imagining having duck feet or antlers really appeals to a child. As a teacher, I also use this book with older children who are having trouble with reading.

4-0 out of 5 stars I wish that I had Duck Feet
The book "I Wish that I had Duck Feet" was a good book because of several reasons. The Three reasons are it's short, it's easy to read, and it's got good pictures. The first reason why "I Wish that I had Duck Feet" was a good book is because it is easy to read. It is easy to read because it's a little kids book and the words are big and easy to see. It is also easy to read because it doesn't have very many words on one page. The second reason why this book it good is because it's short. I like short books because they don't look very small letters like big novels have. It is also a small page book, because there are not very many words on the page. The last reason why I liked the book"I Wish that I had Duck Feet" is because it had good pictures. There wasn't a page on the book that didn't have a picture; The book showed all kinds of different pictures because it had stuff like deer antlers on the kid and a well spout, and a long tail for jump-rope. In conclusion there is no way a person can have Duck Feet, or deer antlers, or a long tail becasue every human is normal and it doesn't talk about realistic people, that is why little kids like the book.

5-0 out of 5 stars A favorite
This was my book when I was a kid (many years ago). My child has loved this book since age 2, and still loves it at age 4, and he knows every word by heart.
The story is all about applying one's imagination.
However, at a deeper level it stimulates critical thinking. First, the main character imagines a scenario and all of the benefits (say, having deer horns on his head). Next, he goes on to consider all of the pitfalls. Good life skills here!
There is some level of bullying from his antagonist. I'll confess to skipping some related sections when my boy was 2, since he had no concept of 'meaness', but at 4 he knows full well that not everyone plays nice in this world.
Another triumph for the good Mr. Geisel incognito.

5-0 out of 5 stars A lesson in on-balance assessment from Theo. LeSieg
If you go by the last line of "I Wish That I Had Duck Feet" then you would be inclined to think that this "I Can Read It All By Myself: Beginner Book" is about building self esteem in small children. But this book, written by Theo. LeSieg (do the last name backwards) and illustrated by B. Tobey, does two other important things as well. As is the case with any and all books from Dr. Seuss, there is an emphasis on the imagination. The young boy who wishes he had duck feet also wishes that he could have deer horns, a long tail, and several other physical features that would make him unique and special.

But the most important thing that "I Wish That I Had Duck Feet" teaches beginning readers is the value of looking at both sides of an issue. While the young boy is able to come up with lots of reasons why having duck feet would be a good thing, his mother has at least one very good reason why he would not want them. From that point on in the story the young boy comes up with both the pros and cons for each of the things for which he wishes. Not only does this make the point that kids should think things through first, but it also serves as a reminder that not everything kids wish for is worth having.

Still, the ability to see both sides of an issue is an important skill for young kids to acquire (older ones too, for that matter). Besides, parents can use the lesson from this book to good advantage. The next time your kid wishes they could have something and they tell you all the reasons why it would be a good thing to have, you can ask that they come up with reasons for the down side. If they claim they cannot come up with any you can certainly find one and tell them that since they could not come up with the pros and cons the answer is "No." However, as much fun as this can be keep in mind that if they come up with points for both sides and make the case for the pros outweighing the cons, you are pretty much obligated to grant their wish.

5-0 out of 5 stars My Daughter's Favorite
My daughter now 14 years old used to request this book nightly when she was much younger. Recently, I asked her for a book recommendation for a coworker and she recommended this. I had forgotten we used to read it but somehow she remembered and cited it as her all time favorite - quite a testimonial! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A perfect book for all Pembroke Welsh Corgi lovers
Anyone who is fortunate enough to live with a Pembroke Welsh Corgi will appreciate this book. The love the author has for her Corgis shines through in both the writing and the wonderful drawings. I'm so pleased that it is coming back into print.

5-0 out of 5 stars So glad to see it's still in print
This was my all time favorite book when I was a child. I went on line, hoping to at least find a used copy for a friend's baby... and am thrilled to find that it is still in print! It's a great children's story, full of wonderful characters, with great illustrations. Very charming. I loved it as a child, and am glad to get to replace my old copy with a new one for my son.

5-0 out of 5 stars Another winner from Tasha Tudor
Nothing pleases me more than to open the pages of "Corgiville Fair" and marvel at Ms Tudor's ability to create a magical, mythical world of corgis, goats, cats, bunnies and boggarts. The story is so dear, the illustrations are truly inspired, and the boggarts are personalities a reader will never forget. This is a treasure for any child's or adult's library; as a child I wanted nothing more than to be able to live 'west of New Hampshire and east of Vermont' in the wonderful, cozy world of Corgiville.

5-0 out of 5 stars Tasha Tudor and her beloved corgis
Not merely one of the finest children's book artists, but one of the finest naturalist artists period. This book well showcases her sense of whimsy as well as her eye for detail. Add to that her obvious love for her corgis, and you've got a book that is a can't miss!

5-0 out of 5 stars funny story, talking animals, and an old-fashioned fair
The book states that Tasha Tudor writes as if in an 1830s timeframe. Indeed this is an old-fashioned country fair. But this fair is in a town populated mostly by corgi dogs, cats, rabbits, and boggarts, a fictional type of troll. This is a large format book and some of the illustrations go across both pages. Illustrations are very detailed and beautiful. It takes much more time to look at the pictures and analyze them than it does to read the text. This is set in an agricultural rural setting and the annual fair is said to be the biggest activity of the year. It is apparent this was written a while ago as a few of the characters are smoking--this is something that just caught my eye. Tudor adds some funny text that will go over the children's heads but will give the adult a laugh. I love that it is not politically correct as it mentions the Corgiville Congregational Church: modern books probably wouldn't mention religion at all. There is also a scene where the not-so-nice character feeds the racing goat lots of food and tobacco to make him sick so he can't race--today that would be painted as animal cruelty and again probably wouldn't be allowed to be printed. Anyway, it is great fun, entertaining for the adult to read and beautifully illustrated. A must have for fair lovers. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Brief Reflections On Terrible Things
I stumbled upon this book whilst babysitting my niece and I'd like to give my thoughts on it. Many well-meaning liberal parents may buy this for their children, which I think is a mistake.

The reading level of this book is about 4-6. Children young enough to be entertained by this story should not know anything of the reality of the holocaust. Not until they are atleast 8 or 9. A child of 4 or 5 is simply too young to be forced to deal with what is, probably, the most horrendous evil of this or any century.

At first, since the subtitle reads: "an allegory of the holocaust", I was expecting something similiar to "Maus" but instead, I got something more akin to an allegorical re-telling of Martin Niemoeller's famous and oft-quoted phrase ("First they come for the communists, but I did not speak up...). First they come for the animals with tails (or something, I don't remember exactly) and then the squirrels and various other woodlawn creatures. Then the animals discuss never letting it happen again.

Now, it's a fine moral and one that needs to be learned. All I'm suggesting is that we don't let good intentions and liberal ideals push our children into the hard facts of adult existence too quickly. It's devastating enough to know that man is capable of such brutal cruelty when you're an adult.

Once you learn that there were people named Josef Mengele and Adolf Hitler, the world ceases to be the same happy place (and there's no going back... seraphim with flaming swords bar the gate to that Eden).

Let children prolong their naive ignorance of the fact that man can be a cruel and vicious animal for as long as it is socially responsible for you to do so. I suggest that this should be longer than 5-6 years.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Really Great
Brilliant! I really recommend this book to anyone who wants to teach there kids about holocaust things.

4-0 out of 5 stars Terrible Things
Terrible Things is based on the Holocaust and what happened during that time. Animals are used instead of people, and a forest instead of Europe. It talks about how terrible things came into the woods and took away animals by what they were or what they had for a tail or feathers. The animals talked to one another about their friends being taken away after it happened and not trying to prevent it from happening again. I think it teaches that there are times when you should get involved with business that doesn't include you and times when you shouldn't.
I think the age level is maybe around 7-9 years. I think the book was interesting because it teaches history and is a story at the same time.

5-0 out of 5 stars Martin Niemoeller's lesson turned into a parable for kids
I was curious to see how Eve Bunting would turn the Holocaust into an allegory appropriate for young children, but as soon as I started reading "Terrible Things" the inspiration for her story became clear. The Terrible Things first come to the forest for every creature with feathers on its back. The frogs, squirrels, and other animals quickly declare that they do not have feathers, that the forest is better without the birds, and that they are all glad that it was not them that the Terrible Things wanted.

Clearly Eve Bunting takes her text from the famous statement attributed to Martin Niemoeller. If I remember correctly Niemoeller was a pastor. He told about how in Germany the Nazis first came for the Communists, but since he was not a Communist he did not speak up. Then they came for the Jews, but again he did not speak up because he was not a Jew. The same rationale explained his silence when they came for the trade unionists and Catholics. "Then they came for me," Niemoeller said, "and by that time no one was left to speak up."

Niemoeller's words might be the most famous declaration about the Holocaust and its appropriateness for being the basis of an allegory for young children should be self-evident. Bunting is not talking as much about the mass exterminations by the Nazis as she is about the culpability of the ordinary citizens who looked the other way when terrible things happened in Germany. The rhetorical question Bunting asks is "If everybody had stood together at the first sign of evil would this have happened?" If young children do not know the answer to that question before they read "Terrible Things," they certainly will afterwards.

Before she tells the story, which is illustrated by Stephen Gammell with pencil drawings, Bunting provides the moral for her tale. Acknowledging that standing up for what you know is right is not always easy, especially when you are facing someone biggers and stronger than you are, Bunting admits to her readers that it is easier to look the other way, "But if you do, terrible things can happen." The strength of "Terrible Things" is that Bunting makes the lesson Niemoeller shared about the Holocaust easily recognizable and understandable to young children.

5-0 out of 5 stars Terrible things
Terrible things is a very touching book. It tells the story of the Holocaust in a slightly less potent way, it tells the story with animals instead of people. The book is one of the best children's books I've read, it's really very well written. Yet the book is very sad.
This book is a great way to teach kids about the terrible holocaust. It's teaches a great lesson to children about racism and classifying people. I like how they made the Germans just a big terrible black thing. It was amazing to see how quick the animals turned there back on each other. This is a wonderful book and I recommend it to people of all ages. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Plain, simple and cute!
This cute kids book is about two friends named Gossie and Gertie. Everywhere Gossie goes Gertie goes too, uh well sometimes. I think it is a really good book to show that even though you maybe best friends we all enjoy different things. The ducks are cute and I think kids and adults will enjoy this story.

5-0 out of 5 stars Friendship conquers bossiness
Although the story revolves around two goslings, it is really the universal story of seemingly uneven friendships.

Gertie proves that it's OK to follow your own lead from time to time. Gossie's increasingly angry requests for her friend to follow her go unheeded, until she learns that sometimes it's OK not to be the leader.

The illustrations seem very simple at first, but are worth a closer inspection. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars New Redwall Book Sure to be a Hit
Triss, the 15th book in the amazing Redwall series is a sure hit for all ages! Once again Jacques has created a whole score of new and interesting characters for the story, as well as new and terrifying enemies for the creatures of Redwall Abbey. His amazing descriptions of beasts will make your heart pound with fear or excitement, and the good characters are lovable enough to make you cry.
The book starts with the lives of Triss, Shogg, and Welfo, three young slaves working at Riftgard, an island inhabited by searats and ruled by a family of Pure White Ferrets. They hatch a daring plan to escape, and flee the island forever. As they sail away, Triss promises one day to return and free all the slaves.
At the same time a young badger Sagax and his friend the hare Scarum leave Salamandastron with the otter Kroova looking for adventure.
It gets even more exciting when Kurda the ferret princess, asks for the Freebooters (a scurvy crew of searats) for help. They set sail to capture and kill the runaway slaves.
Meanwhile deep in Mossflower, two Dibbuns come across the most ancient Badger Lord hall... Brockhall. The plot twists and turns, and with the help of other good creatures the characters come together for an epic and final battle for Redwall and for freedom from the vermin forever.

5-0 out of 5 stars This book is something I know you'll enjoy!
I always loved Redwall books and have read pretty much of them, so I've got to admit that they are getting a tiny bit boring for me. I was thinking of putting this book for four stars since this book was a little bit like "Martin the Warrior" (which is about slaves who escape an island ruled by vermin and promises to return to free the others), but the action, excitment, humor, and poems made me think, "Oh well, I loved this book anyway!"

Here's the Story:

Triss is a young brave squirrel who is enslaved with many other slaves on the island of Riftgard, which is ruled by the evil King Agarnu and his son and daughter Prince Bladd and the sadistic Princess Kurda. Triss and her otter and hedgehog friend Shogg and Welfo are determined to leave the terrible island and to return to free the other wretched slaves...and to slay the Pure Ferrets to end the evil for once and for all!

Meanwhile, two Dibbuns from Redwall Abbey have wandered off and gone missing in the Mossflower Woods. As they are found about a day later during a storm by Skipper of Otters and Log-a-Log the Chieftain of Shrews, the Dibbuns tell the elders that they had found an oak tree which provided them shelter. The oak tree had a cunningly hidden door, they said and the older Abbey creatures realize that the babies had found the mysterious Brockhall! They decide to find the place. (here's where most of the poems, songs, and RIDDLES comes out!) But some evil beast (or beasts?) are living there and they are determined to defend their home...

At the great moutain of Salamandastron, the stronghold of badgers and hares, the young badger Sagax and his gluttonous hare friend Scarum have runaway from endless chores and from the stern paw of their parents. Meeting their otter friend Kroova, they both sail out into the sea, planning to go to Redwall where food and safety was. (Scarum is pretty happy about the food!)

All paths and purposes of the three main runaways are different, but of course, they all cross at the famous Redwall Abbey!

I thought that this book had all that a book needed: Excitement, suspense, humor, and lots of action! All 402 pages of it would keep you intrigued, although around the middle part it gets a bit slow. I thought that bantering with the Freebooters and Princess Kurda was in a way kind of funny! Scarum is, like all hares, totally exasperating and has that usual 'British accent, wot wot?' I'm sure anyone would enjoy reading "Triss"! My other favorite Redwall books I recommend are:

"Lord Brocktree"
"Taggerung"
"Martin the Warrior"

Of course, other Redwall books are cool too, but these are my favorites!

4-0 out of 5 stars WOT WOT! and all that jazz
Evil. Princess Kurda is a one of the most evil known. She has grown tired of using vegetables to practice her sword fighting on. Now she wants to use the slaves that are rebellious to practice her sword fighting moves.
Triss is the last book in the Redwall series by Brian Jacques. It is the 16th book in that series. The characters in this book are all different. The villains are cruel and pitiless and the heroes are brave and courageous. This book has all kinds of different things in it. It has sword fighting, friends, enemies, attacks, captures and much more. The adventures in this series and book are interesting and they show all of the characters points of view in a story. They all have their own personalities. This makes the story a lot more enjoyable to read.
All of the characters in the Redwall Series are animals. My favorite animal out of all of the characters is the hare. They always say "Wot wot!" and "flipin" and "blinkin." The hares always make me laugh because they eat enormous amounts of food and then say it was a "little morsel of scoff". These books are hilarious and exciting at the same time. Brian Jacques is one of my favorite authors.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of Jacques' Best!
What more can I say about this wonderful novel? It's got an intriging plot, has wonderfully colorful characters (including Triss and Princess Kurda) who are fully developed unlike some other novels whose dry, dull descriptions leave you wishing you had never opened it. I simply love this book and would also recommend "Les Miserables" for any of the Redwall fans.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great ! Brian Jacques does it again
Brian Jacques has to be one of my favorite authors for good reason. This is another Fabulous book in the redwall series it displays all of his usual charm and witty songs. I love the new Hare Character and all of the wonderful new additions to redwall abbey. I cant wait to read his next book. I was totally impresssed. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Fabulous!
My nephew, 4 years old, loves this book! He loves "reading" all the pages, and looking at all the pictures. It's tremendously colorful, and interesting even for the adults. I definitely would recommend it for any child with an interest in animals, or for any adult who hopes to foster such an interest.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Preschool Resource
Before buying this book, I wondered if it covered enough animals to make it worthwhile. It does. Rarely are we disappointed when we reach for this kid-friendly encyclopedia. Some entries cover several similar animals, such as the entry for the Kangaroo and Wallaby.

Each entry contains a nice combination of illustrations/photographs and text. The information is nicely geared toward preschoolers and younger elementary-aged children. So far, it's been able to answer most of the questions of my very inquisitive 3 1/2 year old.

The book contains a very nice table of contents, glossary and index. While finding information on animals, my son has also learned how to use these handy reference tools. However, the book does not contain a map. A map would be a welcome addition since the book often mentions where the animals live. We use a separate map/globe/atlas but it makes the whole process more bulky.

Several of the entries cover animal-related infomation: camoflage, communication, conservation, coral reef, defense, evolution, habitat, migration, and reproduction. There are also separate entries for amphibian, insect, mammal, and reptile.

The book contains some hand-on art and experiments for a few of the entries. The ones we have tried are very age appropriate for my 3 1/2 year old.

We've referred to this book a lot. Judging by the quality of information and the interest my son shows in it, we'll continue to do so for quite some time.

5-0 out of 5 stars Jason's approval
My son Jason just loves this book. He chooses an animal fromthe book each night for a bedtime story, where I make up a story aboutthe animal using some of the facts from this book. The pictures are wonderful and full of color. The whole family has learned a lot from this fact filled book. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A creative and entertaining book.
My first grade daughter and I just read this book (and listened to an accompanying audio recording) at the library today. It was so enjoyable that I plan to purchase it for my four-year-old nephew as a holiday gift. The illustrations are bright, colorful and very clever. The text is simple (and easy enough for a beginning reader), yet very creative. The Barretts really hit the nail on the head with this one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Laughed out loud...
My husband brought this book home from the library. I picked it up to read it to my 2-year-old, and could not stop laughing at the picture of the hen. If you have seen the book, you know what I mean. My son didn't think it was funny because he's too young, but I just know that someday he will love this book!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Definite Must
My 3rd grade class can't get enough of this book. Easy text to read and the illustrations make the book. It covers several different animals wearing clothing that would never suit them. For example...sheep wearing a wool sweater, a giraffe wearing neck ties, a chicken wearing pants (Where does the egg go?), just to name a few. Maybe animals shouldn't wear clothing, but your child will definitely LOVE this book. You'll probably enjoy it too!

5-0 out of 5 stars Well what should they do....
As a pre-school teacher I am always searching for bright, motivating books to start my little ones down the path of learning. Animals should definetely not...fits the bill perfectly. With colorful, humorous, illustrations and predictable text, it is a popular choice in the library center. The picture of the chicken still gets laughs 20 readings later...you will have to look to understand. I highly recommnend this book for any household with children under 5. Written with kids in mind it is original, funny and never boring. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Felix and The Flying Suitcase - Great Book
My 6 yr old daughter recieved this book as a Christmas present. This has to be one of the most wonderful children's books I have read. The book is about a little girl who's rabbit(Felix)travels all over the world and then returns home on her birthday. My daughter and I have had great fun reading about the many places Felix has visited. She has also written her own letters back to Felix and is now keeping track of when the letters should arrive(by the date on the envelope). It has taught her many new things. She mostly enjoys opening the letters that Felix sent home.I would reccomend this book to anyone. We can't wait to find the other Felix books. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A must have for preschoolers/kindergarteners!
I just bought this book Saturday at the book store and when I started to read through it, it was just too cute & I had to buy it. On Monday, I read it to my Preschool class (4-5 year olds) and they LOVED IT! It's easy for them to follow along and they where chiming in as I read it. Also they caught on to the pattern and would say the words before I read them. I also taught them the hand motions too. They kept singing it later. If your child(ren) love to sing "Wheels on the Bus" then will love this book.

5-0 out of 5 stars fun for mom, dad and baby
We came upon Tumble Bumble because we loved "If you give a Pig a Pancake" and the other books by the same author. The animals look like ones we would like to be friends with! My daughter loves the picture at the end of the book with all the animals in bed together and the spider coming to join them. Such a happy book. GREAT book as a gift in board book style for little hands. Love it!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Book
This book was given to my son as a gift. I have been reading it to him since he was about 8 months old. I even have it memorized. He absolutely loves this book. He is now 17 months old and still brings it to me to read to him. He even sits and looks at it himself at least once a night. We have read it so many times that the board pages are bent and creased. I will probably have to buy a new one for him soon. The text rhymes and has a smooth flow. The illustrations are very pleasing. The big "HOORAY!" at the end perfectly describes my son's reaction to this book. I highly recommend this book to any parent looking for a great read for their infant/toddler.

5-0 out of 5 stars My favorite book for toddlers!
This is my all-time favorite toddler book. My daughter loves it, but I think I might like it even more. I have it memorized and always make it one of the books we read each time we sit down. You'll love this book, the illustrations, the rhymes, and the story. (I bet your child even loves it too!)

5-0 out of 5 stars This one's a charmer!
I don't give 5 stars to many children's books (except Boynton books). Tumble Bumble earns all 5 though. The rhymes are cute, the story sweet and drawings warm and clear.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hurray
The last page of this book sums it up perfectly, "Hurray!" My 17 month old loves this book. The rhymes match perfectly and she loves to look at the animals. She has begun to say some parts of the story with me and always yells "Hurray!" at the end of the story. This is another book we will read repeatedly. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Truck Duck Cab Crab
My son really enjoys this book. At 15 months, he has started being very particular about which books he wants to have read to him, and this one is always a favorite. I've never heard him turn it down yet. It's very simple - each page has a vehicle being driven by an animal and two words, such as "truck duck" or "blimp chimp" or "cab crab." Even though it's a favorite, I gave it just 4 stars, because I don't know if it will be a favorite for kids who aren't obsessed with vehicles and wheels, like my son is. ... Read more
