Simply Must Have
This book is well written so that the parents or the Children can read it and do what needs to be done. A brownie simply must have this book to be the best Girl Scout she can be. It is also well written so that parents can understand what is going on and what the girls will do when they are no longer brownies. There is a newer version out now so if this is your childs last year in brownies, then it is something you must get, but if your child has two years to go in brownies then I reccommend waiting for the newer version which will be out very soon. ... Cadette Girl Scout Handbook
This book is great for girls, grades 6-9, whether Girl Scouts or not. The handbook disscusses everyday issues for girls in this age group, dealing with everything from health and fitness, to friendships and relationships. Activities and ideas for discussion throughout are great for troop activities, or even classroom or individual use. Some of these activities can be applied to earn Girl Scout awards. The first chapter focuses on the history of girl scouting, trafitions, uniforms, troop organization and more. Interest Projects
Interest projects are fun and easy to earn, and all the information and requirements are cleary outlined in this book. The interest projects are categorized based of emphasis (Life Skills; Nature, Science and Health; Communications; The Arts and History; Sports and Recreation). The requirements for each patch include: Skill Builders, Technology, Service Projects and Career Information. In addition to the patch requirements, there are also suggestions for completeing the requirements, such as how to interview, role-play, work with younger girls, conduct research investigations, and deal with saftey issues. Information on managing your projects, working toward the Gold and Silver awards, and writting your own interest project are also included. Every cadatte/senoir girl scout should have this book, as well as anyone who works with girls grades 6-12 and need activity ideas.

Interest Project Patch Book
I am a Cadette/Senior Girl Scout Leader. When I first became a leader of this age group, I found this book to be unfriendly, and very hard. After 3 years experience, I have become the expert, and have helped many other troops find resources. Overall, the layout of this material is good, but as far as resources being readily available as in other editions for younger age groups, this is missing. For younger Cadette Scouts, many of the requirements for the badges seem impossible. It takes a creative leader to make some of the requirements accomplishable and interesting. ... Read more

Games for Girl Scouts
As a new girl scout leader, I found this book to be a very valuable tool. It is filled with hundreds of games that can be played in many different settings. In each chapter, it explains why play certain types of games and why they benefit the girls. It is arranged under easy to reference chapter headings with symbols by each game indicating whether games can be played indoors, outdoors, either, by small groups, large groups, either, international origins and age requirements. These are only guidelines as many of the games can be modified to suit individual troop needs. Many of the games need no extra props, just the girls themselves. Games for Girl Scouts also make reference to other Girl Scout materials which can be incorporated into the learning process along with the game or games being played. This is a great resource
I think that this book is very well written for the age that it was intended for. Also, it is very easy to skim through it and find what your looking for but, if you just want to read through it then it's made for that as well. A Resource Book for Senior Girl Scouts
This book is a must for Cadette Girl Scouts who are bridging to Seniors, girls joining as Senior Girl Scouts, or Senior Girl Scout troop leaders. It includes information about contemporary issues, careers, college admission, staying healthy, leadership, wider opportunities (worldwide sponsored activities by councils or the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts [WAGGGS]). It also includes information about the Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest award in Girl Scouting (equivalent of the Eagle Scout for boys), as well as its requirements- a 50 hour service project, 30 hours of leadership, 4 Interest Projects (badges), the Senior Challenge, and the Career Exploration Pin. I find this book extremely useful in finding needed information about Girl Scouting. This book goes hand-in-hand with Interest Projects for Cadette and Senior Girl Scouts.

It's too bad that this book is now out of print. It is by far the best of the Girl Scout camping cookbooks and a lot of this information has been hedged out of Girl Scouting over the years, lost to old leaders and grown up Girl Scouts.
