5-0 out of 5 stars Horse Book
"Come What May" was a GREAT book! It continued the life of a 15-year old girl named Amy who's Mom died about 6 weeks ago. It goes through only a little bit of adventure but still was worth reading. I got the whole set of books from #1-5 for Christmas and I'm hoping to get the books #6 and 7 for my 10th birthday. Lauren Brook is the author of these GREAT series and I hope she will continue her series of books throughout her life. I think what brought her to the passion of writing these books were because she might of went through what happened to Amy throughout her childhood and wanted to tell people something similar to her life. These books are great for kids and teens! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Another wonderful Heartland book!
Taking Chances is really good, with a beautiful grey Thoroughbred gelding as one of the characters. Amy finds that things go terribly wrong when she is asked to keep a secret about Heartland's new stable hand from everyone - even Ty! This is a REALLY good book!

5-0 out of 5 stars heartland
Heartland is one of my favorite series. If u are a horse lover, u would definately like this book. The author wrote about how Amy hires Ben to help out at the barn. But Ben never actually helps Amy and Ty out, he just makes more work for them to do. He spends all his time training his horse for the horse show. Ty starts getting irritated because ben gets his horse very exshasted by training him too hard. Even though his horse was sweating and panting like crazy, Ben still kept on working his horse. Ty has tried to tell Ben to stop before he gets his horse sick, but Ben wouldn't listen and told ty to stop telling him how to train his own horse. Amy can tell that ty doesn't like ben much but what could she do. Ben's aunt was a costumer that helped them out when they didn't have any money. How could she even think about firing him. Amy hears ty talking about leaving heartland on the phone. What was Amy to do now? This is one of the best books that lauren brooke has written!

5-0 out of 5 stars I knew it!
At the time I read this book, I thought that this would be a romance, but it was nothing like that, just dramatic. This book is about Amy, still trying to get over her mothers death, has had one person to always lean on, Ty, the stable boy, but everything just gets thrown! A new stable boy (Ben) comes to Heartland to help Ty out but that doesn't happen. Between Ben beating his horse and Ty anger against Ben nature, Amy is forced to be an enemy to Ty because of the secret that Ty shouldn't know about Ben's life. Amy knows that her relationship with Ty is burning and she never realized before how much she took him for granted. Read and find out what Amy should do!

When Amy finds out that the new stable hand named Ben would be comming, she was very exited. But, she loses her exitement when she finds out that Ben won't do any work. Then Ty is offered a job at Green Briar, the owner is one of Amy's class mates mom's who trains her horses and ponies to be 'push button'. Ty, who is now upset over the work that Ben is doing almost decides to even leave Heartland. Will Ty leave and be a stable hand at the famous Green Briar? 5-0 out of 5 stars darkest hour
Woo-hoo! Lauren brooke has made quite a come-back now hasn't she? I thought the last few books in the heartland series were, umm, to say the least, not quite as good as the first few. I couldn't put this one down. When Candy starts to show flu symptoms, things at heartland get tough. Ty, Ben and Amy seem farther apart than ever and on top of that, the heat is just making things worse. As more horses come down with the flu, and the quarentine extends, Ben gets more dificult. Finally, when things start to look up, a tornado hits the valley and heartland is devastated. (The book ends with Ty in a coma:()

A MUST READ!!

5-0 out of 5 stars This book is Full of emotions
Omg this book outa of them all got me cryin the most me im so scared of storms so i knew how Lou would of felt. And I can relate to Amy in the books it's not because i have the same name but for i can relate to her feelings and how she thinks about her mom. sadly i lost my mom when i was 10 :( but as time goes on i get stronger and Amy seems to in the books. This book was Really well writin Ty falls into the coma and i had to read the book till i was donw and i couldn't put it don't i think i eat supper in my room i was cryin and reading through tears and im 16 going on 17 I love heartland and how much this book is not to far outt there with someo books with talkin horses. Lauren Brooke is a awsome writer and i love her books and im glad im not the only one who does

5-0 out of 5 stars This book is reeeeeeeeeeally good !
This is one of my favourite Heartland books but the only problem about it is when you get to the end it leaves you on a cliff-hanger and you NEED to get the next book. This book is very sad at the end but don't worry because things look up in the next book(Everything Changes). If you are a horse lover than this is the book for you.

5-0 out of 5 stars Heartland: Darkest Hour
Have you ever dreamed about working with horses, healing them, and helping them? Then look no further than the Heartland book series, by Lauren Brooke. This book series is perfect for horse fanatics and riders everywhere.

The Heartland series is about Amy Fleming, a teenage girl who is the daughter of a world-famous horse rehabilitator. After a life-changing accident, Amy takes over her her mom's rescue & rehab center for horses, called Heartland. Throughout the series, Amy faces many obstacles, and not just with the horses, but also socially and mentally.

This book, Darkest Hour, is (right now) the lastest book in the series. Amy is handling the business in Heartland well until an equine flu illness attacks the horses. One by one, horses get sick and are forced into isolation while the whole Heartland farm is under quarantine. It doesn't help that Ty, Amy's boyfriend and employee of Heartland, is arguing with Ben, the other stablehand. Amy has a lot of stress put on her, but the situation gradually disappears. However, just as things settle down, an incident rip-roars through the short tranquility and, when the dust settles, things might never be the same again. Will Amy physically and mentally cope with everything?

I really enjoyed this book. Since I ride horses myself, I could really relate to Amy's dilemmas in behavioral problems with the horses and in rehabilitating them. I also like the description put into the book because it helped me to visualize what was happening. It also had really nice explainations of things, so nothing was confusing to me. Darkest Hour had lots of suspense and emotion, so it was very realistic.

I reccomend this book to girls who are interested in horses. I also suggest that you start by reading the first book in the Heartland series, Coming Home.

5-0 out of 5 stars Totaly Awsome!!!
I started out with the 5th heartland book, then i had to get the rest! The 13th book is awsome!!Things go as normal until Candy shows signs of the flu. Scott admits that it is the flu. Soon, the back barn was reserved for only sick horses. Suddenly the the heat gets intense and developes a twister. The twister ruins the back barn. After the twister blows over, Ty and Amy go in to check the horses. Suddenly, the roof falls ontop of Ty and Amy. Amy is knocked out. She gets up, but Ty go to the hospital. You'll have to read the book to find out the rest!!! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Everything Changes
I absolutely love the Heartland books since they're all so great and this one was no different.

In Everything Changes, Amy deals with alot. She has to since Ty's still in a coma and there's an un-backed stallion (Dazzle) straight from the plains of Nevada. Plus dealing with all of the other damaged horses by herself and the barn chores.

This was a great book and I hope Lauren Brooke continues on writing.

5-0 out of 5 stars Heartland: Everything Changes
In the fourteenth Heartland book Amy Fleming learns to cope with a new challenge in her life, a pure green mustang stallion, and her best friend, Ty, who is in a coma. She learns to find herself and what the true meaning of friendship and patience means to her and the horses she heals. I read no other books then the Heartland books and they inspire me to live each day healing horses and the people I'm with. These books have changed my life and should be read by all. I love you Lauren Brooke and NEVER stop writing!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Everything Changes- But Lauren Brooke's Writing Doesn't!
Another awesome example of Lauren Brooke's admirable ability to relate to our-age teen equestrians. With the new and challenging mustang on her hands, and Ty still in the hospital, quite a few surprises spring up, and Amy has to deal with many things she hasn't yet dealt with- such as a horse completely and totally not responding. I won't tell you whether or not Ty wakes up, if he is in a wheelchair, if he is fine, or if he is... dead. One bit of information I can spare without ruining the numerous surprise scenes is that this book is far more emotional and in-depth than Lauren Brooke's previous works, but I can not say I am opposed. Amy seems to still be herself, but more sentimental and emotional at the same level. (...)

5-0 out of 5 stars Lauren Brooke is the BEST!
I have been reading the Heartland books for quite a long time and they have been all good but this book is DEFINITELY my favourite. This book has alot of things going on in it and at the end it leaves you on a cliff hanger. I can't wait to read the next book(Love is a gift) and anyone who is a horse lover will simply adore this book.

5-0 out of 5 stars I luved this book
I know Amazon says this is a book for 9-12 year olds but I'm older and I loved it. I started reading the Heartland books in like 5th grade but like now I really think this is a book that people my age would enjoy. However, if you haven't read at least the last five books first it won't mean as much to you. I am one of those people that isn't really sensitive and has never cried in a book before but this book made me cry. Everyone should read this book! It's fantastic! ... Read more

Hi!I'm from German and I'm twelve,my English isn't very good, but I hope you can read my sentences! Here in German is only book eight the end, now! But book nine and ten must coming!I love these books, and I can't stop read, when I've got the ones side read!I think, these books are so real!Amy is a girl, she understand the horses and the peopels!I don't think what going on in book nine and ten,but I'm happy when they give here in German, because,I love Lauren Brooke, and Heartland!

5-0 out of 5 stars Heartland 10, Tomorrow's Promise
I thoroughly enjoyed this book as well as the others so far in this series. These books are more realistic than most that I've read. I love how Lauren Brooke is able to portray her characters and describe their emotions so well. I can't tell you which book of the series is my favorite...too many to choose. I like this one a lot because Amy has so many things to do and is struggling to get everything (and more) done. Ty knows something has to give but doesn't want to tell her. I liked how most everything ended. I think several of the things that happened in this book are foreshadowing the next one. It will be interesting to see.

4-0 out of 5 stars good book, something for light bed time reading
Amy receives a horse called Summer Storm from her father as a present. Storm is a jumper horse and Amy wants to start taking him to shows. But Heartland isn't cut out to home a jumper and doesn't have the money to pay for all these shows. Ty doesn't think Amy will be able to take care of the horses @ Heartland AND go to school AND ride and show Storm AND help Lou how to ride. At a show, Amy meets Daniel, a boy who also does jumping also and has a horse called Amber. She wants to help Daniel achieve his dream which is to become a pupil of Brad Shaffer who runs a well known training jumping stable for Daniel is poor and doesn't have a lot of money. But something tragic happens to Amber and Amy has to help Daniel face his worst fear: that he may risk losing Amber. And also Amy has her own troubles to deal with: the one year anniversary of the death of her mom is coming up and she doesn't know what to do. Of course Ty and Amy have their romantic moments and Ty too seems to be troubled by something... Basically everyone has their own problems to deal with in this story. But whatever happened to Matt? Ever since he's been going out with Ashley, he's been disappearing. And what about daybreak and melody?!?!

5-0 out of 5 stars Not My Favorite But Still Great
THIS BOOK IS AMAZING! It is similar to #9, Every New Day, and MUCH different from the other 8. It's not as sweet, sappy and unreal. Tomorrow's Promise is much more like reality. Amy's boyfriend, Ty, who is also a stable hand @ Heartland, seems to be preoccupied and distressed about something. He won't tell Amy what it is and because Amy knows how much she loves him and how important he is to everyone @ Heartland, she is concerned and distressed as well. Also, Amy's long lost father buys Lou and Amy a show horse named Storm! FACT: He is the mirror image of PEGASUS! BUT Younger. Ty and Grandpa know that they don't have the room, time, money, ect... for a competition horse like Storm. But Amy persuades Grandpa to let them keep him. But not everyone is convinced. Ty still doesn't think it's right to keep Storm because he knows that Amy can't do all of her chores, ride him, go to school, and help Lou learn 2 ride again! And he still seems preoccupied. So Amy doesn't want 2 upset him by talking about it and she's upset b/c she always used 2 b able 2 tell Ty everything. On top of that, at a show with Ben, a friend and stable hand @ Heartland too, Amy meets Daniel, a man, Ben's age, who has a talented jumper, a roan mare, but his horse well I'll just say it, looks like she was put together by a committee, aka she looks really bad. Daniel seems to hate the show scene and @ first Amy doesn't like him but as she gets to know him she realizes that all he has is the titles he wins and his horse. When his horse, Amber, gets grumpy and won't cooperate, Amy tries to convince Ty to drop of some herbs while they're picking up one of Nick Halliwell's horses that is coming to Heartland. Ty agrees but Amy can tell that he is still annoyed with her. In the end something drastic happens, that has a huge effect on everyone. Luckily, Amy and Ty still have their romantic moments. Don't we all love those?? lol. This a great book and worth ne body's time! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT BOOK IF A HORSE LOVER!!!!!!!!
This book is exciting and a little bit of a mystery. Any person that loves horses or animals will like this book as much as I did. The story takes place on a farm called Heartland. This farm is like no other farm. A teenage girl named Amy Fleaming takes the job of healing the wounded or curing the scard horses. After Amy's mother dies, Amy feels there is somthing missing from her heart. One day she gets a phone call, the person on the phone wants to bring over a very famous race horse,Gallant Prince. Prince is now scared of everything ever since a disater takes place. Can Amy get the stallion out of his darkness???

5-0 out of 5 stars ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS EVER!
I really love this book. It combines the real facts of horses while reminding u that this story is about a 15-year-old girl who goes through the same stuff that other people do. Her relationship with the horses is strong but that's not the only thing. It hinted in the 1st book that Ty (who is a totally perfect!) liked Amy. Finally he kisses her (in the 6th book) and reveals that he loves her and Amy finds out she loves him to. I really wanted something to happen between them, and I won't spoil the rest. It is a great book that really helps u learn about horses. The main focus of the book is about a race horse who is named Gallant Prince who was injured in a stable fire. Amy talks to Prince's former stable hand and realizes that he might be the key to helping Prince. But Ryan, the stable hand has his own problems as he was also injured in the fire and is not exactly up on the idea of seeing Prince again. I won't tell you anything more, you'll just have to read the book yourself! IT'S AN AWESOME BOOK AND YOU SHOULD READ IT ASAP!

5-0 out of 5 stars 13 year old reader Anna
This is another great book by Lauren Brooke. Amy has to help a jet black horse named Gallant Prince. He got caught in a stable fire and is now afraid of EVERYTHING. But Amy also has to confront his owner who got badly burned in the fire. She must help him face his fears and take him out of his dark room that he stays in 24-7. Amy has to lead them BOTH out of the darkness before it's to late! Happy Reading!

3-0 out of 5 stars not one of the best books from Heartland
I liked this book but it was not one of the best ones. Amy Flaming runs a farm called heartland she heals the scars of emotionally injured horses. But when Prince Gallant comes to heartland Amy simply can't pull him out of his darkness. The stallion fears everyone and everything. But when amy finds out that prince's old stable hand Ryan is going thourgh the same pain she knows that he is the only one who can reach Prince. For horse lovers everywhere Out of the darkness is an emotional exciting book that display the relationship of a human and horse working together even in times where everything seems losted.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of my daughter's favorite series
My daughter, a thirteen year old equestrian and voracious reader whose tastes run the gamut from Judy Bloom to Tolkien and all points in between, has devoured the entire Heartland series this past month. This excellent series contains suprisingly tight and descriptive prose conveying clear action packed narratives which possess good morals and interesting characters.

Imaginative and age appropriate, Lauren Brooke's series supplies great entertainment for any active middle school reader. While they are certainly written directly for a female middle school audience, this late thirty something year old dad, whose literary tastes favor histories and biographies, has found this particular series quite entertaining in a pleasantly guilt free manner. ... Summary-- this book is about a girl named Any she lives at a place called heartland. It is like no place else because the scars of the past can be healed, it is a place where frightened and abused horses learn to trust again. Amy sees a horse that is abandoned. She convinces her mother to go out and save Spartan, which is what they call him. They weather is really bad, but her mother will stop at nothing to save a horse in need of care. Something terrible happends, a branch falls and her mother swerves out of the way and they get into an accident with Spartan in the trailer. What I Think-- My opimion on this book is that is was a good book, I love horses and i would also do as much as i could to save them too. I thought that the book was an easier book for me to read though. I would like to follow up on the other books to see what happens next.

Recommendation-- I would recommend this book to people who like horses and would want to read about them. I wouldn't recomment this book to people over the age of thirteen because it is an easy book to read. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars My favorite Heartland book from all 7!
When I read this book I loved it! It's about Amy a girl who lives on a horse farm- Heartland- which gets bussnies by curing horses from their scars ( Scaredom, bad beahvior, and Treating badly) In this book Amy is working with a horse called Melondy which has just given birth to a foal named Daybreak. Anyway Ashley Grant - Amy's emeny- invited Amy and all her friends to a big christmas party, Amy doesn't know why intill she sees Ashley trying to get Ben- one of Heartlands 2 stablehands- to notice her. Amy then knows why Ashley invited them. Amy's best friend Soyna likes Ben too so she's very disipointed that Ashley likes Ben too.
At the Christmas part Ty- The other Heartland Stablehand- and Ben pick Soyna and Amy up- When Amy's and Ty's hands touchs she blushish, Amy doesn't know why. Ty's been Hearland's stable hand for a long time. At the Grant's party things get worse! Matt- one of Amy's friends- pulls her on the dance floor to slow dance! Amy doesn't like this, she knows Matt likes her but she just wants to be friends not boyfriend and girlfriend. But when she trys to tell Matt he goes away. Amy, Soyna, and Ty rush over to Matt when they find him dancing to not anybody but Ashley! After some time Amy and Ty dance together Amy feels strange- She just doesn't know why it was Ty she was thinking of- Ty the person who worked many years at Heartland since he was 15.

At Tys birthday he makes sure Amy's safe when Amy's older sister-Lou- is trying to find the farther who abanded them, and Amy's babysister is going on a vet meeting with Heartlands vet and Lou's boyfriend- Scott (also Matt's older brother)- When the opened Ty's gift they almost kissed! Arm to arm mouth to mouth- They were porbaly going to when the phone rang. It was a nurse at a hosptial. You see Amy's grandpa was sick. The nurse said her grandpa was geting really sick, and so Ty and Amy rush off.

If you want to find out the rest about Amy's grandpa and about Ty and Amy how now there going to get along, and about if Amy and Matt will make up and much more get the book!

5-0 out of 5 stars ...wonderful...
I really like the Heartland series, and I've read all of them up to book 6. I love them all, but this one was my favorite. It was absolutely wonderful, and I couldn't put it down until it was finished. Even after it was finished, I didn't want to put it down- I wanted to find out what happens next.
This book is so exciting. Every page is interesting.
This book is a mixture of feelings- sometimes it makes you want to cry along with Amy, or sometimes it makes your heart pound in your chest.
All in all, I loved this book and all the other ones I've read.

I don't like to tell what happens, because then it sort of takes away some of the excitement or surprise when you come to a part you already know. The end is like the best part.

If you're looking for a good horse book, but one that's really realistic, you should read the Heartland series. Especially this one. This is one of those books that really deserves 5 stars...
I simply can't wait to read #7... I really want to know what's going to happen between Ty and Amy!

Anyway, if you haven't read this book already, you'll make a wonderful decision by reading it- NOW!

Thank You for taking the time to read this. It's really a wonderful book~ love horses

5-0 out of 5 stars I Luv this Book!
Amy is so awesome and she and Ty are Finaly togther, but when Ashley Grant find's out about Amy and Ty she tells everyone. Then Mercury comes and the story unravels into the best hartland yet! Everyone must get the Hartland Books! They are better than ALL of the Horse books I've read Before! I cant wait for the new ones to come out!

3-0 out of 5 stars good book but not my fave...and amy and ty are going out!!
I am a fanatic of these series and here is my review: Amy has a new horse @ Heartland named Mercury (a show jumper) who is afraid of jumping obstacles. Amy tries everything she can, but she just can't seem to help him... Against Ty's wishes, she decides to seek advice from Huten, an old Cherokee Indian who lives in the Appalachians... Huten was the one who taught everything to Marion, Amy's mother, about alternative therapies. So Amy heads to the Indian reservation (with Mercury) and expects to start working on Mercury right away. But Huten is acting all strange, Amy is completely confused, and worst of all she is in a fight with Ty. Read the book to find out what happens to Amy, Mercury, Huten, and Ty (and everybody else)...
I just couldn't put this book down and I was glad that I bought it ... I esp. love it when amy and ty are alone... its so romantic...

The first time I bought these books I didn't even know what the story was. It was on 5th grade I ordered them form a scholastic magazine. They sat on my shelf for about a year or 2. It was a year ago I finally picked up the first book and I just loved them!
And its not really a Horse story. I mean yeah Horses are a pretty big part in the books, but Its really about Amy's life.
When I bought book #13 I had my mom buy #14 that same day because I had to find out what happened to TY!
My point is that when you read these books theres no putting them down!
These books have a good mixture of adventure, suspence,Knowledge, troubles,Feelings, and a bit of romance.
Overall these books are great! If your reading this review to see if you want to read the books, I advise you to read the books! You'll love them!

5-0 out of 5 stars Breaking Free is really good!
This book was the first of the Heartland series that I read, and I still think that it is the best!! It does have some sad parts, what with Amy losing her mother and now someone/thing else (I won't say too much), but it lets you tag along while Amy tries to move on. I also think that Lauren Brooke is a really good author, and her plots are original and exciting. Lots of different qualities of different books are mixed into one in the Heartland series, and I definetely recommend this book and others in the series.

5-0 out of 5 stars Gripping

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT BOOK!
This would have to be my favorite book out of the Heartland series. Probablly one of the better horse stories I've read in a while.
The book is about how Amy and Lou's long lost father is paid to have a vist at Heartland while he is on a buisness trip. Amy is all freaked out about having her father coming to town after he had her mom and sister when she was little. It's a whole story about how Amy come to terms with her father and tries to build a relationship of trust again. You have to read the book to find out how the story ends up.

5-0 out of 5 stars Horses are the best
Could you imagine getting frightened and abused horses to trust again?

If you enjoy horses than Heartland Thicker Than Water is a book for you. It's a kind of novel that you never want to put down. This book is about a girl named, Amy, a 15 year old horse trainer who tries to get frightened, and abused horses to trust again. She is a very kind, concerned, yet confused person. She and her family live on a horse farm in the hills of Virginia. There are a lot of conflicts in this novel, but the most important one is that Amy's dad, Tim, whom she hasn't seen in 12 years, is coming to Heartland. She feels that he should just stay out of her life, because she is still angry at him when he abandoned her and her family. Her sister Lou feels totally different. She feels that Amy and she need to give him a chance.

I found this novel wonderful, and amazing. I liked it so much because I feel that Lauren Brooke did an awesome job of describing the way the characters were thinking, it was almost as though I was in their heads. I also enjoyed it because it had so much suspense that I couldn't wait to turn the page. You could almost see Amy's mind and heart fighting between loving and hating her dad.

3-0 out of 5 stars Titles....
The Heartland stories are good, but the titles are very weird. I mean, "Thicker than Water?" What does that have to do with horses? "One day You'll Know?" "Breaking Free?" "Love is A Gift?"
No offense or anything, but these titles should change or something.

5-0 out of 5 stars THIS IS THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Put this on your wish list right now.
Heartland just gets better and better!!!!!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars A great book
This book was very good. I was surprised that Amy (Main character) and Lou's (Amys sister) father left them. I was very happy at the end when all of the problems are solved. Their is actually a good ending to this book. There were some surprises that I never guessed would happen so it is not that predictable. I loved this book, and if you like it too I suggest that you read Terri farleys books. So get reading and have fun. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Coming Home
This book is coming home by Lauren Brooke,it is a great realistic book!
This book is #1 in the Heartland Series.
Heartland is a horse farm in the hills of virginia. Heartland is much more than just a horse farm, it is where the scars from the past can be healed. Amy,Ty,and Amy's mother cures horses. One day Amy and Soraya-Soraya is Amy's friend-Goes to a friends house which is an old lady, and the old lady isn't there, but her horse is in the barn, the horse has been in there for like 3 days without food and very little water. So Amy and Soraya goes back to the ranch in search of Amy's mother to go help bring the horse to Heartland.Amy and her mother goes to get the horse, although on the way homse something terrible happens. You will have to read this book to see what happens.

5-0 out of 5 stars Healing Horses, Healing Hearts- a wonderful series
Heartland is a place Amy's mother started after nursing her husband's show jumper, Pegasus, back to health using alternative remedies and therapies, due to an accident that the horse and rider were both injured, and Amy's father leaves to recover. She started to take in other problem or abused horses and helped them to learn to trust again. When she died, Amy and her older sister, had to take over everything, and tried to keep the place going. Amy finds she has the same horse-whispering talents as her mother, and struggles to take over the work her mother had done so well. Amy works hard to keep Heartland in business and to overcome the sadness of losing her mother, to realize it was not her fault her mother died. This book was very emotional and descriptive, written very well. You could feel Amy's sadness at losing her mother in an accident that she felt was her fault, for she had convinced her mother to go out in a storm to rescue an abandoned horse, Spartan. I recommend this book to everyone who has some connection with the world of the horse, or anyone who loves reading at all. This book has everything- romance, adventure, drama, action, and tragedy that will keep you blowing your nose and crying your heart out until you take the trip to the library or your local bookstore to pick up the rest of the series, when it will start all over again. The entire series is wonderful and heartbreaking, and I highly recommend every single book that is included to you. The rest of the series deals with Amy adjusting to her new life without her mother and her sister's new ideas to keep Heartland up and running, and to face the horse that is the subject to all Amy's fears and heartache, Spartan.

4-0 out of 5 stars what do I think?
Coming home is about a girl called Amy who lives on a horse farm and helps her mum 2 heal horses, with the help of the stable hand Ty (hooray!) tragedy strikes and Amy realizes stuff, learns somthing aboutt herself ect. It is a well written occasionally cheesy book, better than your average horse book. This isn't lauren brooke's best book though, they get better as they go on

1-0 out of 5 stars Way too sad
This book was just one tragedy after another. Amy's dad was paralyzed in a riding accident and left the family. Amy's mom dies. The old lady up the hill dies and her horse is found starving. Amy's relationship with her sister is estranged. This book is just too heavy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Coming home

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Book Yet!
Amy is working hard, getting up early in the morning and sleeping late at night. This has been going on ever since Tim, Amy's father bought her and Lou Storm. Storm is a beautiful Trakehner x Thoroughbred, and was bred for competition. He is completely unsuited to a place like Heartland. With so many horses to help at Heartland, Amy starts stressing out to the point of where she almost hit a horse. In the meantime, she was slowly working with Willow, a 14hh pony who was beaten since she was weaned. Amy is the only one she truly trusts. While at a show, Willow gets an injury and won't let anyone near her. Amy realizes then that she can't keep going on like this with Storm and Heartland. The rest is up to you to find out, and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Intriguing Horse Book
Hello my name is Anna, this is a amazing book by Lauren Brooke. Amy now is doing what she always wanted to. She is competing like her dad on her dapple gray horse named Storm, and caring on her mothers work at Heartland. She keeps telling herself she can compete and work at Heartland. But it's just to much work to do both. Sooner or Later Amy will have to pick between her amazing horse and Heartland.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Book I've read!
Sooner or later is a very good book. This book has lots of emotions in it. Trust me I even cried. It is sad but very interesting. If you are a person who loves to ride, read or just love animals and horses than this is the book. This book is part of the serie "Heartland". So if you've read this book I suggest you read the whole serie!
This book is about Amy and her show jumper, Storm. Amy has a BIG decision to make: enter the show jumping life like her father or stay at Heartland to help damaged and abused horses. What will she pick? Read the book to know the answer.

Have fun reading!

2-0 out of 5 stars Skip this one, you won't be missing anything
Lauren Brooke should just stop before these books get any worse. I think she's running out of good ideas, but still wants to keep writing the Heartland books. She is starting to repeat the plots: Amy has a problem, no one understands her, she cries alot, and then it's all solved. Also, Ty is totally unsupportive. Ben is much more sensitive.
The other books, at least up to number ten, were really good. I really liked reading them.
I rated this two stars, instead of zero, because I usually like the Heartland books. Also, at least it has horses in it. I hope the next one is better. I'm not too hopeful about correct information though; it said something about a hurricane in Virginia!

5-0 out of 5 stars Heartland- Sooner Or Later
Sooner or later is a great book! The whole series is! This one is about Storm, Amy's powerful dappled grey show horse. Amy is spreading herself thin by all the work she is doing at Heartland and at shows. Amy is showing Storm and continuing her work at Heartland. Amy is telling her self she can do it all and have it all. But having it all is hard. So sooner or later Amy is going to have to make a decision between Storm, her beloved horse or Heartland her beloved home. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Love Is A Gift
When Amy and Lou journey to Australia to visit their father and his new wife (Helena) and their baby (Lily), Lou immediatly connects with Helena and Lily loves Lou. While Amy stuggles with the fact that this is their new mother and sister, she seeks refuge in the stable. Even though some of the stablehands don't particularly like her there, shes continues with her work on two of the horses, Spirit and Mistral. Spirit was cared for by Helena and completely adores her, making him behave unenthusiastically for others when jumped. Mistral seems to lack human intrest so whenever they try to make progress with her, she becomes distressed. As Amy treats Spirit and Mistral, she realizes some things about how she's been acting.

Heartland's probably my favorite series! I have never disliked any of the Heartland books and I would give any of the books a million stars. I suggest that you start off with the first book in the series, Coming Home, if you want to read the Heartland books. Lauren Brooke is a great author and I hope she continues to keep writing.

P.S. There's a surprise at the end of the book involving Lou but I won't give it away. You'll have to read it for yourself!

5-0 out of 5 stars Love is a Gift was great!
I have read all of Lauren Brooks Heartland books, and I think that every one deserves five stars! In this Heartland book, Amy Flemming goes with her sister and her sisters boyfriend to Australia to visit her half sister, her step-mother, and her father. When Amy gets there she begins to feel she doesn't fit in, so she hangs with the horses, but she doesn't really feel like she fits there either. With the help of Amy's friends, she realizes what the problem is and quickly tries to fix it before she goes home.

5-0 out of 5 stars comes close....falls short
I have read all the Heartland books so far and I plan to read them till they stop. (I HOPE that isn't soon!!!) I LOVED the first thirteen. the last three have been fairly good but they lack the same desription and feeling that made the others so excitingI think it is cool to see Amy somewhere new, dealing with her father's new wife and daugther. I also liked the fact that Amy realized, to a certain extent, that family is more important than horses. (even though horses ROCK)I missed having the heartland crew there, especially TY! :) All in all I thought it was a good book, but there was something missing.

4-0 out of 5 stars Interesting
It wasn't one of the best... the others were better. It wasn't the same. Maybe it was because it took place in a whole different backdrop. But I still reccomend you read it if you've read all of them so far.

4-0 out of 5 stars Interesting enough
I've always been a big fan of these series, but this book definately wasn't the best. It was good and touching, but it wasn't lyke THAT exciting. I liked it, but I liked the other books MUCH better. You might as well read it if your going to read any others, the author tends to refer back to other books. :/ ... Read more
