Recommendation
I recommend this book to everyone who is 13 and up because it's more of a commitment and faith story. Another reason would be that is was a very interesting story about friendship. For example, Sam confronts Linc Solcum and tells him to stay away from her horse and that proving him self a cowboy isn't worth trying to hurt her horse. "Stay away From Him, catching him wont prove you're a cowboy". Another example is that Sam is so committed to protecting her horse she tells her grandmother that she will do anything t save him from Linc. "Gram, I know that the Phantom Is Blackie. I will do anything to keep Linc away From My Foal". In conclusion if you like horse stories then this would be a good book for you.

4-0 out of 5 stars My Review
This is a really great book! I love the whole series but I have to say that #6 The Challanger, is my favorite. This particular book is about Sam discovering a plot to wipe out the wild mustangs. She also finds out a lot more stuff about her mom, like the true story of how she died. The only thing that truy dissapointed me was that Sam and Jake still haven't gotten any closer to a relationship than they were in the first book. It's really quite annoying because they would be perfect together. But other than that, it is a great book and I really think you should read it.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is a million star book!!!!!!
I loved this book!!!and the whole series! I would recomend this book to everyone. Untamed is probably the best book in the series.
Terri Farly is an outstanding writer and writes the best books
Phantom Stallion is a great series!!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars THIS IS AN AWESUM BOOK!!!!!!
This book is great. the whole series is but there are some things that i wish were added to it. I wish that there were some kind of romance between Sam and Jake, i mean they're great for eachother. most of the other characters have boy/girl friends, Wyatt and Brynna, Jan and Ryan, why not Sam and Jake. i loved it and this is one of the best in the series.

5-0 out of 5 stars hahahaha
haha this book was funny and all around good, Jake was hilarious,

"Do you know how embarrassing this is?" he hissed, pulling her around the corner near the drinking fountain.
"Hanging around the girls' bathroom?" Sam managed. Her voice gurgled between a sob and a laugh.
^that is part of the book, it is embodied in a review therefore I am not plagerizing, but it's real funny to. ... Read more

Welcome to Chestnut Hill, a prestigious boarding school with a rich tradition of academics, horses, and rivalry. There's witty, spunky Dylan; secretive Malory; western tomboy Lani; Honey, the soft-spoken Brit; and polished New Yorker Razina. 1-0 out of 5 stars A filler book, but Veronica adds color
THE SADDLE CLUB #62: HORSE BLUES

WRITTEN BY: Bonnie Bryant
COVER ART BY: Paul Casale
PUBLISHED: 1997
PUBLISHED BY: Skylark
PAGES: 150
...
EXTRAS: A summary for The Saddle Club #63: Stables Hearts.

SUMMARY:
The girls in The Saddle Club are making their New York's resolutions. That's the easy part. Keeping them ill be another matter! Can Stevie really be nice to Veronica diAngelo for a whole month - especially when the snobby girl is showing off all the expensive loot she got for Christmas? Can Lisa learn embroidery to make her mother happy? And how can Carole give up junk food when her dad is always making delicious buttery popcorn to eat during the old movies he loves to watch? To keep themselves on the right track, the girls have made a bet. The first one to waver from her resolution must pay a price - and it won't be peasant!

COVER ART REVIEW:
This is one of the most boring covers. (One would think I would like a cover with Lisa being buried in snow.) The cover is so boring; I put off reading the book for a while. Of course, after I read the book, the cover seemed fitting. The horses are just two copies of each other and look like they were tossed in there at the last minute.
OVERALL: PINK. It's a boring and dull cover, but at least it's a scene from the book. And Lisa is being buried in snow.

BOOK REVIEW:
This book was a struggle. This book is the worst of the New Year books (Purebred and Horse Fever). Too little horses, too much embroidery. Lisa proved what a *itch she is by running away from Simon. Didn't she learn anything in Gold Medal Horse? Mrs. Reg's was so painfully obvious that I'm starting to doubt Lisa's intelligent. Carole is absent minded and Stevie never pays attention to anything. But Lisa? ...
OVERALL: WHITE. A filler book, but Veronica (who I really, really love) adds color to the book.

5-0 out of 5 stars New Years Resolutions are in!
When New Years comes around Carole, Lisa, and Stevie make resolutions to each other. But they find out just how hard it is keeping so easily made ones. I liked this book because it showed just how strong friendship can be and just how hard it is keeping a resolution when you don't know for sure what really fits under the catigory. It teaches you not only about friendship but also about to make to right resolutions. An A+ for another winner. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Hmn....no comment.
This book was sort of slow, like a foal taking its first steps. Although this book was well written, when Samantha came in I found it a bit dull. Even if I really did want to ride Fleet Goddess I wouldn't disobey my father. In the book, Mr. McLean was trying to watch out for Sammy's best interest. I found that how Ashleigh was so warm to Samantha was very heartwarming. This book wasn't one of Joanna Campbell's better books, but after this book, the things with Sammy warm up a little. But there's one thing - Pride is just born in #5 and then he's a yearling in #6, and then a two year old halfway through #6??? Although #6 (Wonder's Yearling) was my favorite TB book, I found that how time was skipped a bit of a loss...... Lara P.S. : Ms. Campbell, please come back to writing the series! I hear you're the writer of #36 (Without Wonder) so keep on writing the books from then on! Thank you so much!

5-0 out of 5 stars I love Fleet Goddess!!!!!!!!!
This book is the most wonderful TB book I've ever read!!!!!!!!! If Fleet Goddess and Townsend Acres were real, then I would go running over there to see Goddess!! *Chuckles* In this book Ashleigh buys a filly name Fleet Goddess (duh). Wonder has had her foal, Wonder's Pride (yipee!!!) and has made friends with Samantha Mclean (sorry if I spelled it wrong). Sammy wants to ride again, but her dad won't let her 'cause her mom died in a riding accident. Then, Ashleigh can't keep training Goddess 'cause she got injured in a race. Sammy wants to train Goddess in her place, but her dad won't let her. Will there be a happidy ending? READ THIS BOOK I TELL YOU!!!!!! READ IT!! P.S. Sorry if I sound nuts, I'm hyper taday.

5-0 out of 5 stars THE BEST BOOK YET
This is the best book so far in the TB searies.
ash and sam finally have a new horse to train ,but ash gets heart in an accadent and bracks her harm. ash is chreshed, she and sam have worked so hard for this day and now thay cant go any fartheir whith fleet goddes's training because, sam's dad will not let her ride. He is still afraid that some horse will take away another loved one. Like sams mother, will sam save the filly's futher or will she have to sit on the side lines and watch all the hard work her and ash put in to Goddess be distoryed.
If you want to find out what happens next read the book

5-0 out of 5 stars THE BEST YET
This book is the best out of all the thoroughbred books I have read.In this book ashleigh's half horse gives birth to her first foal.ash is soo exited, but it would be a dall book if their was no raceing. So ash goes out an finds a stout filly named fleet Goddess.Sam ashleighs best friend helps train the filly into a beautiful sleek race horse.so when ash injureds her arm sam must fill in, but sams mother was killed not to long ago by a race horse so her father is no too happy about the idea. will sam save the race horse she loves or will she have to sit and watch everything she and ashleigh have worked so hard for.
This book was soo good if you never read another book read this one.

3-0 out of 5 stars Nice pictures of horses, but the story is lacking
I bought this book for my 5 year old who LOVES horses. It has some nice pictures of horses, but there is hardly a story at all. It begins with a little horse introducing herself and then she spends the rest of the book saying "I thought I heard a noise...I can hear it, but I can't see it...I guess it was nothing. The End. I think that my 5 year old could have come up with a much better story. And you learn nothing about horses in this story. I can not recomend this book, as there are some calandars with equally nice photography. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A MUST for all horse lovers!
This is a fantastic book about an wild stallion on Azul Island who the Black has met in the Black Stallion and Flame. Steve had dreams about this flame coloured stallion which only became real when he and his friends unlocked the secret of the island on a trip there. This brings them into the heart of an unknown world of horses who lived unseen by humans for centuries. When Steve begins to bond with Flame after Flame's defeat in a battle, he rescues him from death. Steve helps him to recover to finally win back his herd. The ending was the best part when Steve made a decision which would affect Flame's future. Leave him be on the island or take him to live with him in the world of civilisation? I respect his decision and I am glad that Walter Farley made it that way. That was what made the book so great combined with a great description of the enviroment and a real feel for horses. It shows the reader a picture of the wild horses. I think Walter Farley is a wonderful writer, way better than Steven Farley. I love all his books and this is one of his best books. Walter Farley at his best. You can tell he really likes horses a lot.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Secret A Choice And A Decision
I absolutly loved this book. It had a story line similar to the Black's but much different in a way. you'll surprised how the slow beginning becomes a fast paced adventure.

Steve and his archeologist friend have decided to go camping on Azul Island, an island which seems to be nothing but sheer unscalable cliff. Some how they find a way inside to what seems a beautiful paradise where lives the beautiful Stallion named Flame. Steve imediatly falls in love with the horse who leads the herd of wild horses. But when Flame suffers a terrible defeat only Steve has the power to save him. Now Steve must risk everything. He can bring Flame back to New York and ruin the secret of Azul Island and let Flame's beautiful herd of horses die out or leave him and be forever scarred. Now you must read the book to find out what Steve's decision is.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best!
This is the best book in the Black Stallion series besides the origional Black Stallion! It isn't about the Black so that might be one reason- the author had a fresh start. It is about a boy Steve, who camps on a desert island while staying in the Carribean with a friend. Everyone thinks the island is inhabitable except for a small sandspit. But Steve has a dream about a red stallion on a cliff that seems unaccessable. Or is it a dream? This is a great book and it even got me interested in the Spanish conquistadors. Anyone who likes adventure or horses even a little bit needs to read this!

2-0 out of 5 stars rings familiar
Hmm...a lonely young boy who loves horses just happens upon an exquisitely beautiful, amazingly fast wild stallion (with marks of Arabian blood in spite of his immense size) that is eventually tamed by the boy, but always remains wild...

Now where have I heard that before?

Farley might as well have titled this one "The Black Stallion (But he's a chestnut now, and Alec changed his name to Steve)".

5-0 out of 5 stars A wonderful book...
I thought this book was a mind capture, it made you feel like you were the boy who so desperatly wants the wild slallion to be his friend. If you'r a lover of horses and don't have one, you should read this book! ... Read more

this book is great!!!
i got handed down one of the origional copies by my aunt and i thought, oh just another book.
after reading it, i found that it was really good all the way through apart from the ending could have been a bit better because it really lead you up to something but the tension, i felt, could have been held better!
i would still reccomend this book to people at the age of 13+

5-0 out of 5 stars This is the Most exiteing suspenseing book in the world!!
This is the most thrilling book in the world!

Alec,The Black, and Henry are out on an adventure... once again!!

Alec is baffled by three colts that arrive for sale from Spain. They look so much like his horse, that Alec is sure they have the same sire. But that wonderful stallion died years ago in Arabia. Or did he?In search of the answer Alec and the Black begin a dangerous journey.
In spain they meet the colts' eccentric owner, Angel Gonzalez, who takes them to a remote mountian stronghold of anb Arab sheik. The sheik insists he's seen the Black's sire running free, in the mountains. And he wants Alec and the Black to catch him.Yet Alec is suspicious. He thinks the whole story is nothing more than an elaborite plot to lure him and his horse to this desolate place-but why??
You have to have read the first book in the series to know who Tabari is and if you don't then, you wouldn't get the whole book (expeacially the end!).

Sierra was a totally awesome story about a beautiful paint filly out chasing her dreams. Seirra and her best friend Fern are always out galloping together (and sometimes getting into trouble). One of Seirra's gallops costs the herds' stallion, and well.... read it and find out!!! The book has great discription and Kathleen Duey is a great author. I also have Esperanza too, another great book by Kathleen D.
I really loved this book and if you're horse crazy, I really recommend it! :)

This book is awesome!
i read it in 1 day I loved it so much!
It is a good book for horse lovers who like adventure books-and not to mention liked spirit-
It is one of the 4 great books of Kathleen Duey.
This is my favorite one.
Seirra is a rambonciuos filly who enjoys galloping through the valleys- but the new leader of the herd is cruel to her forcing her out of the herd-...........

5-0 out of 5 stars Spirit Of The Cimarron: Sierra
Sierra is a wonderful book. It is even better for a horse lover. It is about a young foal of the untamed West. She was born in a free herd there. But then a young proud stallion comes to take over the herd. Sierra carelessly runs to far from the herd which leads to a total disaster. She meets up with a lone stallion who takes care of her while taking her to an Indian Campground. She relizes that she has a new home here with these people and with the stallion. This book is a great adventure tale. But is probably even better if you are a horse lover. I give you my word that I just couldn't put it down. ... Read more

Book Description

Born on the Mongolian steppes during the reign of Kublai Khan, Oyuna's future seems decided when, as an infant, her foot is crushed by a horse. Her clan believes she has been cursed by bad luck, and she is confined to her family's tent to cook and sew. But Oyuna dreams of bringing honor and good luck to her family. 5-0 out of 5 stars A book of reality
I give this book five stars. I think it was a very good book because it was adventurous, exciting, mysterious, and romantic. It covers all the popular things in a story. It shows a true book with a beginning, middle and an end. The main character (Oyuna) shows how she works her way up until she finds her dream, it also shows that life always doesn't run smoothly. If want to find out what Oyuna's dream is or anything else, read I RODE A HORSE OF MILK WHITE JADE.

5-0 out of 5 stars Liz's Review
I liked the book. It was very faced-paced and never got boring. It was emotional too. I would recommend this book to people who like to read about ancient China and horses. The book is about a girl named Oyuna who is crippled and her dream to find a swift horse. She has encounters with different people and animals.

5-0 out of 5 stars Will Oyuna complete her mission?
I liked the book I Rode a Horse of Milk White Jade. It is okay. My favorite parts in the book are when Oyuna befriends the Khan and when she wins the long race, too. My least favorite parts are when Oyuna's mother and grand mother die. The book is told in first person, so it felt as if I were Oyuna, experiencing everything she did. I like it a lot, but I can't help but wonder what the names of Oyuna's parents are. Otherwise, I loved the book, mostly because animals are involved.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good for ages 12-20
This is an enchanting book of a strong female heroine who loves horses. It is one of those books that has 3D characters who you really want to succeed. I would recommend this book to young women who have or dream of owning their own horse regardless of the training and work that must go into owning one.

The ancient time period was a nice bonus because it made the story different fromt the typical "girl finds run-down horse at local auction" story that I'm sure we've all seen.

5-0 out of 5 stars I wish I could go on an adventure like that w/ my horse!!
I couldn't even start to explain how much I love this book! Oyuna was just a baby when "the horse chose her". Oyuna means the horse chose her to have a crushed foot all her life. To be free on the back of a horse, & to be crippled on the ground. Oyuna goes to the fair when she is 12 or 13 to find her swift horse to win the race to get/win/make luck for her family. But instead, she chooses an old, lame mare. She does because the mare talked to her. ("Help me out of here!") Slowly but surely, her mare gets better & Oyuna names her Bayan, meaning "beauty & goodness". Every one thinks it is strange that she named her horse. Naming an animal was extremely strange. The Kahn's soldiers come into Oyuna's village 1 day & take Bayan. They start taking men & boys from the village, too, as new soldiers for the Kahn. The commander comes into Oyuna's family's tent & chooses her slightly older step brother to be a soldier. Since Oyuna's grandmother told her to never loose her mare, Oyuna takes her step- brothers uniform & goes out & saddles Bayan, pretending to be a boy. Now, I won't tell u anything else, you'll just have to read it, but this was a great, great book. It doesn't deserve 5 stars, it deserves 5 million! This book is a great example of the loyalty of animals & all they sacrifice for us. This is one of my favorite books. Oyuna has such an amazing adventure, I wish I could do that w/ my horse & my cat! (Bator is her funny, loyal cat) Read this book! You'll love it, I promise you! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Book
I thought this was a really good book and I read it all in one day, it brought back Samantha, Tor, Kaitlyn, Katie, Vince, Mike, and it was good to read about those characters in greater detail again. This book was after the Derby and Christina feeling she wasn't a good enough jockey for Star. She is overwelmed by Ashleigh trying to get her ready for the Preakness and reviewing the Derby over and over and also with finals, Parker, and the prom, she doesn't feel she has time for everything. Melanie is at Townsend Acres with Image while the horse recovers and Parker and Christina think Brad has a hidden motive for being so nice to her. Christina feels she isn't a good jockey and she is letting Star down, until she has a talk with Affirmed's JOCKEY not TRAINER and he gives her some good advice and brings up her convidence. The only reason I gave this book four stars was because I didn't like the ending, if you read this book you know why, but I don't want to give it away. I was VERY VERY VERY disappointed with the end of this book.

4-0 out of 5 stars This book waz great
This book waz very good. i'm glad they did remember some of the original characters. The one thing that puzzeled me was Samantha. she was sick and pale. And when Christina told her about Ashleigh nagging her Sammy said that she would probably feel the same if it was her own kid then she placed her hand on her stomach. is she pregnant or something??????? Overall it was still a good book.

4-0 out of 5 stars okay
i enjoyed the book but then i do like chris and star but 1 thing that puzzled me - wasn't aaron and calm before the storm supposed to run in the preakness? i'm glad that parker and chris are starting to get closer together again but i think that they must hurry up and get back together.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best in a Long Time
Finally some old charecters are mentioned! I have been a loyal fan of the Thoroughbred series since it all started with Ashleigh and Wonder (Yup-I'm too old to win the saddle) and sometimes I feel I know more about the series than the new writers do. But I was pleasently suprised by this book because it did have little bits of information about Legacy (I never understood how Christina could trade Legacy for Sterling when Brad had half ownership) Also a few new yearlings are mentioned as well as Ian, Mike, Sammy, and Tor. I'm glad to know that Mike still exists. Recently the books have been centering on Image and Star and it seems like they are the only two horses at Whitebrook. I wish they would write about the old horses like Fleet Goddess and Princess. And please tell me what happened to Mandy! Joanna Campbell did such a good job of creating charecters her readers cared about then the new authors picked up-apparently without even reading the previous books- and poof, all the original charecters disappeared. It seems like the people (Melanie and Christina) say that Image and Star are their special horses but there is no bond like Ashleigh and Wonder had or Sammy and Pride. Ashleigh would have loved Wonder just as much even if Wonder had never won a race. Now everything seems to be centered on winning. Anyway, this book took a little time to answer a few questions loyal readers had. I will continue to read the Thoroughbred series as long as they keep making them but I wish Joanna would come back.

2-0 out of 5 stars not at all what i expected
Well, by certainly they are using bribe's to get people to buy them, what's up with this Win a trip to a TB farm or win a free saddle?? Half of the loyal readers are over the age limit. But with the book, I mean come on, at least Legacy is found out again. But him only racing that one race because of Brad's Interferance? Come on, let's take a look back to Pride, what kind of stress did he ride under??? And Wonder too!! They can't tell me Brad didn't find a way to Race Legacy at all, that's pathetic and disheartening to him. And Wolf's bloated ego?? That seemed real enough at least, nothing like an apprentice ought to though. I'm sorry for any die hards out there that thought this was great, but I certainly didn't! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars *Gr8 book, but...*
This is a gr8 book if you love reading about eventing. It's an interesting storyline about Parker and his 2 horses, Foxy and Ozzie in England. But... when is the Kentucky Derby story going to come? It keeps on being stalled!A few books ago, there were a few weeks left until the Derby. What's the delay? We want to read it!!!
We want to know who's gonna win: Star, Image, or Gratis?¿? Star has the heart, Gratis has the speed and agressiveness, and Image is just plain fast and loves to be in front of the pack. We are getting impatient only because we love this series and we want to know what's going to happen!
All in all, these books are awesome if you're a horse lover.
Thoroughbred series is the best!!!:-)

4-0 out of 5 stars Um, has anyone mentioned this?
Ok, I like the book, even though it's about Parker competing, and in the end, we don't even the read about the event. Ok, so on and so on. Now, can I mention something?
Has the TB collection lost it's original cover illustrator? I mean, has ANYONE noticed that the cover drawings lately have been so scragly? I mean, look in #51... why does Star look so horrible?
And in #52 (Perfect Challenge), Image doesn't look perfect! I mean, I loved those beautiful drawings in the original books, like in #3, Wonder's First Race. Compare that cover with these awful ones!
Also, I did like the covers in #34 to #37, where the horses looked like they were half-made in 3-D design, and rider's faces looked real. Otherwise, the covers have become as bad as the collection is going right now!
Now, for the REAL problem: GET THE HORSE STRAIGHT!
Look at Foxy in #41 (Close Call) and see what a pretty and sleek bay she is. Then, go look at #50 (Team Player) and Foxy had become all bedraggled and scraggly and become a CHESTNUT. Excuse me? Since when do horses become bays to chestnuts. And to make it WORSE, look in this book (#55- Great Expectations), Foxy has turned into a sorrel/light chestnut with TWO FRONT STOCKINGS... um, did I hear that right? I do hope the illustrator has a memory!
Please, let's also start campaigning for the "Get The Old Covers Back!". I mean, go look at the books #50 and above. Then, go look at the books #1 to #30 and the Ashleigh collec. and the Supers and the Ashleigh Specials. Notice the BIG difference? Don't you agree with me?
TB has already gone down with the story all spread out! Let's not let the look go down as well!

3-0 out of 5 stars The derby!
Derby Fever is just about Ashleigh and races and stuff. The derby will be in book 57,faith in the long run or something

3-0 out of 5 stars Time frame's a bit off
Ok, the book is ok, but my biggest beef is that the timeframe is off. The Rolex Kentucky is held the last week of April, and the Kentucky Derby the next weekend. The last 5 books have it all messed up. But, that's just me, I'm not saying that the books are bad. They're just a bit messed up in the time department.

3-0 out of 5 stars ehhhhh....
This book was OK. I don't think that it was Karle Dickerson's best book in this series. I kinda thought that it was boring, but you should definently read it though so then you can fine out about some things. ... Read more

Can a fan's love go too far?

Christina is thrilled by Wonder's Star's recent wins on the track, but with Star's success comes some very strange -- and very creepy -- activity around the farm. First, someone breaks into the Whitebrook barn. Though physically unharmed, a jittery Star compels Christina to fly home abruptly from New York. Luckily, Christina's new friend Jessie is there to support her.

For safety's sake, Christina is forced to move her renowned horse after the break-in. But when trouble follows Star to Whisperwood and then to Tall Oaks, she begins to fear for Star's well-being . . . and for her own. Christina may be left with only one option: to move Star to Townsend Acres, where the security is excellent, but where her nemesis, Brad Townsend, is surely up to no good. . . .

5-0 out of 5 stars StArStRuCk
Starstruck was a very predictable book. All along you knew would star's "stalker" was. I wont give it away....although you could probably figure it out within the first few pages. it was a good book...just a little too predictable. It didnt hold my interest like a few of the other ones did because i already knew who the stalker was. I reccomend it to anyone collecting the series (i am so of course i bought it) Anywhoo...Basically star and christina are being stalked by a racing fan. chris gets creeped out so she moves star to tall oaks. then when that plan fails she moves star with her for a short while in New York (he was supposed to race there) the stalker knew about the race and followed them there. Chris pulled star from the race and hides him at townsend acres. Can you guess what happens? o dear! the stalker finds them there too....then poof....the stalker is never heard of again. I dont really have too many complaints about the book...in fact i think the series is going uphill again. but some of the things that really do bother me is the fact BRAD WAS BEING NICE <-ummm whats up with that?, all the people relationships are repeating (chris and parker were too busy for eachother...now mel and jazz are too busy for eachother...and so is kevin and lindsey), and no offense but the cover art really...er sucks! what happened?!?!? they used to look so great...now it looks like something my little sister might draw...anyway it was a good book for the thoroughbred series. If you want to find another great series, i reccomend the HEARTLAND series...they are just as well written (if not sometimes better)than the TB series.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best of the new generation
Despite what the first reviewer said of "worst ever" this is by far the best new generation book. Christina is written as a child who is turning into an adult, a real 18 year old basically. The book kept me engaged for hours at a strech; this was the first new generation book since Star's birth that I wasn't finished with in a day. If you are or were a fan of the Thoroughbred series, this book reminds me of when Joanna Campbell was still writing the series.

If you are even thinking about getting this book, DO IT! It's well worth the money!

5-0 out of 5 stars This is the best book in awhile!
Wow this book is incredible. I really have to hand it to the author, she really pulled it off. It was better than even the Jennifer Chu books (even though she writes great ones as well).

Christina is accepting mediocre rides, instead of the top-class ones she could be taking. A stalker begins to follow Star, and Christina moves him to Tall Oaks and then to Townsend Acres. Christina starts to fall apart on the track, losing her cool during races and drifting away from her responsibilities. Both Kevin and Melanie are having problems with Jazz and Lindsay. Kevin has decided to become a trainer, and he's going to go help his father. Melanie is swept off her feet in New York, with rides and races. Everything is going in a blur, and Christina is scared out of her mind. If the books keep going this way, they'll be as good as the Old Generation books! Believe me, this is what this series needs.

2-0 out of 5 stars this book STINKS!!!
THOROUGHBRED IS MY FAVORITE SERIES,BUT THEY ARE GETTING WORSE.CHRIS IS PARANOID,AND PARKER IS NEVER THERE.MELANIE IS ACTING STUPID AND ALL JAZZ DOES IS GO ON TOURS.I DONT KNOW WHY THEY ARE MAKING BRAD SO NICE, BUT THAT ISNT HIS CHARACTER.THE NEXT ONE SOUNDS MORE EXCITING.
EVER HOPEFUL ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A classic that will keep you coming back for more.
In third grade, I purchased this book because I liked the picture on the cover. Now, eight years later at age sixteen, I'm still reading these books devotedly, and even have my own website dedicated to the series (...). These books are unique not only because they're about racing instead of the usual eventing, but because Joanna Campbell was so good at developing the bond between girl and horse. Readers of the Thoroughbred Series become as close to the horses as the main characters do, and Ashleigh and Sammy are definitely people I'd like to have as my best friends. Even though in more recent years the quality of these books has suffered due to changing authors and constant factual errors, the first twelve books remain classics.

In this book, we see through the eyes of Samantha McLean as she watches the horse she loves, Wonder's Pride, grow from a gangly yearling to a beautiful racehorse. However, trouble is brewing at Townsend Acres where Sammy and the colt live. Mr. Townsend, the colt's co-owner, has fallen on hard times, and it looks like he might be forced to sell his half of Pride! It's no help the Mr. Townsend's arrogant son, Brad, would love nothing more then to see Pride sold, since he still bears a grudge against the colt's dam, Ashleigh's Wonder, for beating his colt, Townsend Prince, in the Kentucky Derby, among other races. It's up to Sammy and Ashleigh Griffen, a Townsend Acres Legend, and Pride's co-owner, to find a way to keep Pride at Townsend Acres.

This book establishes Pride as a horse worthy to fill the horseshoes of his dam, the famous Ashleigh's Wonder, and shows that Sammy is just as likable a heroine as her predecessor, Ashleigh. It's easy to fall in love with the big chestnut colt and his fiery-haired groom, and this book will have you rooting for Pride and Sammy all the way.

5-0 out of 5 stars graet book! one of the best!
i loved it!pride, wonder, ashliegh, and samantha.what more could you ask for?a great match.all in all,a wonderful book!

5-0 out of 5 stars proud to have read it!
This was fantastic! It goes down the line of Wonder's offspring, and changes people, which is also a nice change. It shows how Samantha is determined to save "her" beloved horse from being gone forever. I recommend this to EVERYONE!!

5-0 out of 5 stars THIS BOOK WAS SO BREATH TAKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have to say this was the best book so far and Wonder retired! The way Ashleigh and Samantha fought fo Pride was awesome. It was so good and couldn't put it down. I think Mr. Townsend was out of his mind to even think of selling his half-interest in the colt. But it was a shame that Ashleigh couldn't find the money to buy him out. But who cares, as long as Pride, Samantha, and Ashleigh are all at Whitebrook happy with Pride!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonder's done it again!
Wonder's had a winner born. A silky brown colt that looks just like her was born.Ashligh is naming him Wonder's Pride. But trouble has just risin when Brad returns to the farm. Worst of all, Wonders Pride might be sold! Can Samantha save Wonder's Pride from the auction block?Townsed Acres is under lots of pressure. Book Description

Parker has never wanted to run Townsend Acres,
but when Brad makes him an offer he can't refuse...

Parker Townsend has always had one passion: eventing. And as he works with a legendary trainer in England, it seems as if Parker's dreams are about to come true. But Parker's scheming father, Brad, wants Parker to give up his “foolish” dreams of competing in the Olympics to manage Townsend Acres when Brad retires.

Parker isn't tempted . . . until Brad buys two horses whose lineages can be traced back to the legendary Welton line! Horses like these would improve Parker's chances of competing in the Olympics, and staying in Kentucky would mean more time with Christina. In his head, Parker knows that he'll be better off if he continues with his training . . . but his heart has other ideas.

3-0 out of 5 stars Bad Brad
Great book but-
It Says Samantha is pregnat and then bridal dreams? Is she pregnat with or with outs Tor's child. Is she still getting married even thoguh she is pregant?

5-0 out of 5 stars Really Cool
Why is Parker putting a WESTERN saddle on a horse that looks like Wonder Star? That just doesn't seem right. But other than that this book is GREAT, REALLY GREAT.

I have been reading these book since I was ten. An get the newones on the day they come out.

And for the person said Christina is a brat, DON'T LOOK IN THE MIRROR!!!!!!!
Love Me

4-0 out of 5 stars pretty good
Well, I enjoyed reading this book. Though why is Parker putting on a WESTERN saddle on a horse that looks like Star? Parker had to make some pretty tough choices in here, but in the end it all worked out for the best. Wow, imagine having an oppourtunity to own two horses with Olympic caliber and having to turn it down.

5-0 out of 5 stars Really Good
Though I don't get why Parker is putting a WESTERN SADDLE on a horse that I assume must be Star's back on the cover, this book was really good. I've been reading these books since I was in 3rd grade and I haven't missed one yet! (though now they are a simple read for me)
In this book Parker's father, Brad, tries to tempt Parker him to takeing over Townsend Acres when he retires, by buying Parker not 1 but 2 REALLY expensive top-of-the-line eventing horses. Will Parker accept the horses and fall into Brad's trap? Read this book and find out!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great book, but some questions...
this is a very good book and i recemend it to everyone! One question i have is: Why is Parker putting a WESTERN saddle on a horse that looks like STAR'S back??

But, other than that (which really has nothing to do with the book) it's very good. I, still, think Christina is a brat. I am disgusted to share a name with her! lol but i have a soft spot for Star because my horse, King, is a chestnut Thoroughbred with a diamond shaped star...like Wonder's Star...just in the past books it said Star had a heart shaped star, and now he has a diamond shaped star...oh well a very good book i recemend it! ... THE BLACK STALLION REVOLTS by Walter Farley is about a boy named Alec Ramsay and his champion horse, the Black. They survive a plane crash and are separated. 5-0 out of 5 stars Walter Farley Has Done It Again!
If I said a lot about this book, it would give it away and spoil the fun of reading it. So, I'll say this:

Alec and the black are in a plane crash in the middle of the rockies. Alec is left with amnesia and the Black is left in the wild and he becomes the "black outlaw."

You will enjoy the book. Find out how the Black and Alec meet again!

4-0 out of 5 stars A great read for horse lovers!
This book is great for everyone who loves horses(especially the Black)! After a fight at Hopeful Farm, the Black and Alec head to a free-range ranch for a few months. On the way, a accident in the wilderness sends Alec across many states running from the police(he has amnesia and thinks he murdered someone) and trying to regain his memory.

4-0 out of 5 stars Four For Sure
I give this a four because I am so angry about what happened to Alec and the Black. Amnesic (or something like that) Alec wanders about thinking his name is Mcgregor while the black is claimed by some cowboy people (you can tell i haven' read this in a long time) Some people think he is a run away murderer and of course Alec doesn't know if he is, he might after all he woke up with blood on his hands. he has no ID either just a bunch of money which he could have stolen (sigh) Finally he remembers who he is and everyone lives happily after. It's a good book but you don't have to read it to understand the rest of the series like some other books in the series. it's almost like and extra or a palate cleansor, but it was worth the money. ...
