4-0 out of 5 stars A Must For All Mystery Fans
I would like to write areview of a book called The Case of the Missing Hamster. I like to read all kinds of mystery books. This is a book from the series Jigsaw Jones. I liked it because it talked about ways to figure out things. For one, a girl uses her senses because she was allergic to animal fur. I recommend the book to mystery fans. The series includes The Case of The Runaway Dog, The Case of the Secret Valentine, The Case of The Missing Hamster, The Case of The Christmas Snowman, The Case of the Spooky Sleepover, The case of the Stolen Baseball Cards, The case of the Mummy Mystery, and coming soon, The case of the Great Sled Race. Go to your local library and check out one of these books!

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best books ever!
I think this book is one of the best books in the world. It's probably my favorite of the first three Jigsaw Jones books. I like Jigsaw Jones because he's funny. He's the best detective in second grade. I'm going to be in second grade, too and it's fun reading about kids my age. I think other kids my age would like these books!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Case of Hermie the Missing Hamster
I would like to commend the author on this book. My 8 yr. old son loves this one. It especially hit home for him because he has big ears. He gets teased all the time and so he feel in love with the character " Wingnut " . Thank you for helping my son feel special. I would love to see the character " Wingnut " used in more of these Jigsaw Jones books.

5-0 out of 5 stars This book was great!
I am 8 years old and I liked this book because it was a good mystery and I liked the people in it. It was easy for me to understand and I looked forward to reading it.

5-0 out of 5 stars These Jigsaw Jones books are wonderful for children!!
These Jigsaw Jones books are wonderful!! They're really written on a kid's level ..... the tone and choice of words the kids use to converse to each other is so right...so 90's...so hip. My boys really gets into it, waiting for the next clue to solve the mystery. The books are wonderful for beginner readers; it holds their interest and encourages a love for reading. I can't wait for the next book to come out! We've checked out other books such as Magic Tree House which are good, but Jigsaw Jones books are unbelievable!! I was so excited to find this series and wanted to share it with other families. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Mystery fun for kids
Young Theodore Jones, called Jigsaw because of his love of solving puzzles and mysteries, (along with his friend Mila) is hired by his classmates to find out who the mystery author is who is scheduled to visit their school. Along the way they explore several meanings to the term "ghostwriter"! My 7-yr old first-grader read this book to me. It is listed here for ages 4-8. It's a great book to read to this age group, but he stumbled a bit with some of the term and really didn't get into reading the story with pleasure 'til he was well into it. He is an advanced reader, but even so I think I'll save the other Jigsaw Jones books for me to read to him for another 6-12 months when they'll be smoother reading for him. Don't pass up on these books tho, they're clever fun. ... Read more

The Case of the Bear Scare by James Preller is part of the Jigsaw Jones Mystery series. The book The Case of the Bear Scare is a five star book. 5-0 out of 5 stars The Author Is At His Best With This Book
"The Case of the Buried Treasure" is definitely one of the best books in the Jigsaw Jones series by James Preller. My six-year-old son was spellbound as I read it to him. I have to admit that I enjoyed the story as much as he did. The book has a generous mix of humor, suspense, clever phrases and good values. What more could a parent ask for in a book? (I really want the author to know how much I appreciate the good values - particularly the way the book portrays telling a lie as wrong and not something funny to do whenever convenient which I've seen in other children's books.) The story has many twists and turns and is so well-written! The character development is excellent, and we feel like we know each of the kids in Room 201. We have read most of the books in this series, and hope the author will continue writing many more Jigsaw Jones books for us to read.

5-0 out of 5 stars Jigsaw Super Special #1
Of all of the Jigsaw Jones books that I have read - I haven't read them all as of yet, but between my two boys, we're fast approaching that goal - I like this one the best. My boys both loved it, too.

Jigsaw Jones is a modern detective. He talks like children talk today, he is "cool", and children can identify with him. 4-0 out of 5 stars Great Fun for Younger Readers!
There's more going on than Joey Pignattano's big upcoming event: to eat a worm (for a dollar). The second grade teacher is a sweetheart - will she finally win the pumpkin pie baking contest this year? Then there's the really scary story floating around about the real mummy that comes every Halloween -it can't be true, can it? But then . . . the mummy (gasp!) shows up at school for Halloween! Cool fun for younger readers (and not really scary).

4-0 out of 5 stars Help! This is a scary book
It all started with a bet. Joey Pignattano, Jigsaw's friend, is going to eat a worm on Halloween for a dollar. Everyone ( except Bigs Maloney) thinks it's a gross, and I mean gross, idea. Finally, Joey's big day comes. Jigsaw brings some worms for Joey, but just before the school's annual pie contest, the worms disappear! This looks like a job for Jigsaw Jones and Mila Yeh. This book was a little bit duller than "The Case of the Spooky Sleepover", another Jigsaw Jones book. Good luck on new books James Preller.

4-0 out of 5 stars Preller does another great job with Jigsaw Jones
My six year old loves these books. And for his parents? We couldn't be happier to find a series of well written mysteries for kids. Preller's situations and characters are fun and up-to-date. We're in the middle of reading them all and have liked each one enormously. One caveat: this particular book had me reading a few sections with my stomach in my throat. Of course my kids thought that Joey Pignattano eating a worm was nothing more than great fun. I guess you just have to be under 20 to understand! ... Read more
