5-0 out of 5 stars Never too young to start this
My daughter is four and has had this book since she was about 10 months to a year-old. I have played it for her when she goes down for a nap and at bedtime over the years and now play them for she and my son in the van on our travels around town.

Even though she was too young to fully comprehend all that is on there, she REMEMBERS what she has heard and has repeated things back to me and asked questions.

I am now teaching her memory verses and she knows eight so far, one of them being John 3:16, which is pretty long for a little girl. My son is learning them as well, and knows one so far (he's two).

I highly recommend this book and the tapes/cd's that go along with it. In fact, we originally recevied this as a gift with the cassettes. We wore the cassettes out and I was fortunate to be able to get just the cd's online without having to buy a second book.

Adults could become a little annoyed at the voices used for the animation, but as the Lutheran mother above wrote, her daughter loves it. Kids are attentive to dramatic voices and would likely just ignore someone reading in a manner that would please the Lutheran mother's ears :o

It's a wonderful book for Christian parents who want to teach their children about the Bible. Everything in there is scripture, so no matter what denomination, if you believe the Bible is the infallable Word of God, this book is for you.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun & educational
This is a wonderful set of stories & songs. In fact, I'm tempted to give it the highest possible praise: its quality is comparable to "Baby Mozart." My daughter asks to hear the songs over & over. When the kids are restless in the car we say, "a few more stories & we'll be there!"

5-0 out of 5 stars the word of God sowed in my heart
I am a Korean University student. It was really excellent.
I heard it as audio CD. I listen to it again and again.

3-0 out of 5 stars A Noble Effort, but Somewhat Grating to Adult Ears
My daughter at 4-1/2 was ready to move out of the Beginner's Bible, and I was looking for a more mature approach to Biblical knowledge. The book and audio set is beautifully produced and delivers on its promise to present the essence of the entire Bible as a read- and sing-a-long experience. It is ideal for the beginning reader to appreciate the "bookness" of the Bible instead of thinking of it as a bunch of "stories." Much better than my ancient Illustrated Children' Bible with its too-high reading level, which when I searched was still the only other whole Bible project that could be used with a pre-reader.

My daughter would certainly give it five stars. She sits and turns the pages with the text and enjoys the songs. Some of the songs are pretty nice, others don't wear well on adult ears; this is only to be expected. What drops my rating is the overly swooning style that many of the narrators chose to read their texts in. Everyone from Moses to Hosea to Jesus uses exaggerated, elongated vowels, "Goooooooood Waaaaaaants Youuuuu to Giiiiiive Up Your EEEEEEEEEvil Waaaaaaaaaays," which is *really, really* annoying, and I think gives kids a twisted example of "special Bible-style talk" that detracts from the real power and beauty of the words.
My tender, liberal ELCA Lutheran heart also cringed when I noticed "Jerry Falwell as Matthew" on the credits, but it's an unfortunate truth that this kind of project can only make money if it targets the conservative Christan community. And, let's face it, no one less conservative would dare to serve some of the un-gentle aspects of the Old Testament straight up (inevitable in the minor prophets). So if you're in the mainstream-to-left Christian community, be forewarned about this p.o.v. that's not entirely obvious from other reviews. All in all, though, it's an honest presentation of excerpts from all the books, and I don't want my daughter to grow up with a sugar-coated "children's stories" approach to her Judeo-Christian heritage.

5-0 out of 5 stars Instill a love of God's Word in your children
This Bible/CD set is a tremendous resource for parents and kids. It is so well made and scripturally sound. There is at least one story from every book of the Bible. Every story begins with a Bible verse and follows with an engaging narrative that keeps your child's interest. Most stories are followed by a great song that reinforces the lesson. I have two children, ages 6 and 4, and they are on their fourth time through since Christmas. They follow along with the CDs, usually in the car. My six-year-old is asking me questions like "Mommy, how can I be a peacemaker?" Her reading skills have also dramatically improved as she reads along with the CDs. My four-year-old is going around singing, "If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray." I am seeing real fruit in their lives. It is a great way to fill your children's thoughts with things that matter for eternity. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars To help you understand you kids!
My husband is Russian and my kids understand and speak Russian, This tape and book helped me learn to pick out words when I hear them in a conversation. Now my in-laws have conversations and I answer them in English.

Also my daughter loves singing the songs.

4-0 out of 5 stars Russian for the younger set
I thought this was a very cute introduction to Russian. The tape is a great idea because you can tell if you are pronouncing words and phrases correctly. It could have been improved by using traditional Russian songs instead of translated American songs. Also--I could live without the guy oversinging the songs in English. All in all, a very good way to support your child's interest in Russian language. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The best audio resource our family has found
More than 50 great songs in numerous styles take you and your children through the Bible from beginning to end. You can't do better than that. I don't know why it's only marketed as 7-and-below. I'd say all the way up to 12 or so (and the adults will enjoy it too.) A Sunday School group could cover this over a year, have a great deal of fun with it, and develop superb Bible knowledge. It is also packed with humor and great characters in a musical-within-a-musical format.
The Osbornes have created a marvellous resource here and I feel their wonderful work has been poorly served by their publisher's marketers. For years I tried in vain to get copies to give to children in my Children's Church class. I get the feeling it's becoming more widely available again. I'd like to see it on CD or MP3 download.
Match this to a Children's Bible in 365 readings and you have the tools for excellent broad-spectrum Bible knowledge for your children. It worked for us, and we had a great time using it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, fun overview of the Bible for Kids
I found this set of tapes several years ago. It is a wonderful set and has fun, upbeat, and catchy songs that appeal to little kids and older ones as well. I liked going in the car on long rides because I could listen to all three tapes. It makes the Bible (especially the old test) come alive and make sense in the big picture--not just little snapshots.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Singing Bible: A Sublime Teaching Tool!
This is the best collection of bible stories for youngsters that I've encountered thus far. It would be a fabulous show for any talented church group to perform on stage. The narration and story telling are top notch. The characters are played by adults and children alike. The songs are always a great compliment to the story and again are performed by both adults and children. It has a diverse genre of music to be enjoyed by all ages. Both my five year old and I love it! The music is professional and of Broadway caliber. Enjoy while you learn!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Without a doubt, a worthwhile investment!
As much as my children enjoyed this tape, I must say, I never tired of hearing it. It is accurately written to entertaining music. Our first tape was destroyed, and I haven't hesitated to replace it. I highly recommend it to all parents. A great way to educate your child on God's Word.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Singing Bible
As much as my children enjoyed this tape, I've got to tell you, I never tired of hearing it. Accurately written, the music is fantastic, it's just an overall great Bible lesson. We were all distraught when our first tape broke while in the player. I was even more upset when I found that my local Christian bookstore did not carry it. I'm delighted to find this site so that we can, once again, enjoy God's Word through this delightful work. ... Read more

Lively music, familiar tunes. Too fast for language learners to follow. I listen and learn the songs in my car, then teach them to my students. I bought the other two (Teach me more Spanish, and Teach me even more Spanish) and I and my kids love them all!

There is one song and dialog for each month of the year.

5-0 out of 5 stars King Arthur & the Knights of the Round Table
In all honesty, though I have always loved the stories of Arthur and Camelot, I too bought this audio book merely to hear the amazing voice of Sean Bean. The two combined make for a very powerful and gripping story.

This would be a perfect gift for children, the young-at-heart, or anyone who is captivated by the stories of Camelot.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Voice to be Heard
I honestly have to say that I purchased this audio CD through Audible.com only to hear the beautiful voice of Sean Bean. I wasn't disappointed! Then, after hearing a great story, I purchased it again through Amazon for my 9 year old nephew. Sean does a brilliant job, that would keep any person, young or old, interested in hearing the story of King Arthur. Highly recommended!

5-0 out of 5 stars Good Version for Children - and Adults too
When I originally purchased this "Junior Classic" - as a gift for my little brother, an Arthur aficianado - I didn't expect to enjoy it much myself. However, the adaptation is well-done, and is not so inane as to make it unbearable to anyone over ten, which is what I expected. I was so pleasantly surprised that I went out and bought myself a copy!

British actor Sean Bean has an incredible range of voices and accents, which he uses impeccably to enrich the characters he reads (though all the narrative is done in his lovely native Yorkshire). Morgana le Fay, Lancelot, Elaine, and, yes, Arthur all come to life as one listens. A very enjoyable audiobook, for bedtime or listening to in the car, or just as a mini-holiday! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Poor audio quality, uninteresting music
I was dissappointed when I heard the poor audio quality of this tape. The tape sounds as if a child taped it off of another medium on a boom box. 5-0 out of 5 stars "Lovely little dreams. . ."
that's what my five year-old daughter says that this tape gives her. She is a veteran non-sleeper and has really enjoyed this tape (and it works like a charm!) She says that it gives her the best dreams and that it's like traveling to other lands in her little bed. Can't beat that! I'll be buying Jim Weiss' "Sweet Dreams" so that I'll have something on hand when/if she wearies of this one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Like a Good Night lullaby story
I ordered this cassette for my 4 year-old son in an attempt to end the "I can't go to sleep" syndrome. Almost every night, even though I had read several books to him, he never seemed ready to go to sleep. This magical tape has three 10-minute stories on each side with soft, relaxing music between stories, so you can listen to one story and turn off the tape if you like. Weiss' performance does a great job of letting child use his imagination while also remaining entertaining for an adult. CAUTION:I cannot count the number of times, while listening with our son, my husband or I have fallen asleep listening to this tape only to wake abruptly to the sound of the tape player shutting off at the end of the tape! When you tire of this tape, Jim Weiss has another "Sweet Dreams" which is almost as good! Enjoy!

5-0 out of 5 stars From age 6 to 16, I still love this tape
At age 6, this tape was purchased for me, and I loved it. Now 10 years later, I still listen to, and love it. I suffer from slight insomnia, and the only thing that helps me sleep is not any medication, but this tape. Even at age 16, I love the childish, but safe images that are created in this tape; I give it 5 stars, hands down.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful for the entire family
I used this tape (and others) to help my sons become comfortable going to sleep alone. This very soothing, quieting tape is by far their favorite, and they never tire of it. My husband and I also like to listen to the tape, although I have never been able to stay awake to hear a complete story.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!
One year I worked at a Vacation Bible School in a 12x12 room with 18 4-year-olds. We would play one of the stories once a day, and all of the children would at least listen quietly, quite a feat for 4-year-olds...And the adults would get pretty sleepy too! Each story is a visualization which only last for about 5 minutes and ends with music that drifts off so the parent can stop the tape without waking the child. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The Only Wee Sing tape I still listen to.
What a great compilation of holiday songs. When I was two, my Mom bought Wee Sing and Play, Wee Sing Nursery Rhymes and Lullabies, Wee Sing Silly Songs, and a gazillion other tapes in the Wee Sing series, including this one. I still have all of them. I'd have to say that this one is my favorite. I'm 22 now, and Wee Sing For Christmas is the only Wee Sing tape I still listen to. Unlike many of the other Wee Sing tapes, with this one, adults join in on the chorus on most of the numbers making it sound almost like a choir. Some of the songs are sung only by adults. All of the well loved Christmas songs are on here, there's songs about caroling, Jesus's birth, and finally Santa Claus. You are sure to find your favorites here. Even if you're into your sixties and don't have any children, buy yourself a copy. But beware! Wee Sing for Christmas is only for the young, and the Young at Heart.

4-0 out of 5 stars good collection
This is a good collection of many Christmas songs. I'm not particularly fond of the tape, not liking the arrangements and children's voices all that much. But the music book that accompanies the tape is well worth having--useful season after season, with 58 different songs. Secular songs like Here Comes Santa Claus, Up on the housetop, We Wish You a Merry Christmas, Jolly Old St. Nicholas, Deck the Halls, Here We Come A-Caroling, O Christmas Tree, and of course Jingle Bells. More traditional songs, too, like the Twelve Days of Christmas, The First Noel, Joy to the World, We Three Kings, O Come, All Ye faithful, Silent Night. And some children's favorites like The Little Drummer boy, Children, Go Where I send Thee and Go Tell It on the Mountain. There are also some unfamiliar songs, like 'Twas in the Moon of Wintertime (a Huron Indian carol which is beautiful) and Three Great Kings (fingerplay) and Must Be Santa.
I recommend getting this, for the season, the mood and the kids to have their own Christmas music. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Saved My Sanity!
My son is 2 and 1/2 and our bedtime routine for the last few months went as follows: warm bath, 3-5 books; and then we'd lay there with him crying, trying to get out of bed for about 30-45 minutes until he finally gave up and drifted off. Now, we have a warm bath, 3-5 books and then this wonderful tape. He is usually asleep by the end of one of the segments (10 minutes!). He doesn't cry or fight sleep at all...he just relaxes and lets himself go to sleep. I love it! He loves it! A great sleep aid!

5-0 out of 5 stars Works like a charm....
I bought this delightful tape because my almost-six-year old had a lot of trouble calming down before bed. We both listened to it last night--my daughter was sound asleep before the end of the second visualization! I loved it, too. There couldn't be a sweeter way to enter dreamland than listening to Jim Weiss' soothing voice describe such charming settings. Cannot recommend it highly enough!

5-0 out of 5 stars You'd be amazed at how well it works....
My mom and I taught vacation Bible school, and were in a small room with 18 4-year-olds. When they got crazy, we put this tape on, and you would have thought we drugged them. They all laid down and went to sleep! It was amazing!

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice follow-up to Good Night tape
I ordered this tape in an attempt to have something different to listen to with my son each night at bedtime. We had been listening to Weiss' other tape (Good Night) for about a year, and I had the stories memorized and needed a break! This tape delivers another strong performance by Weiss as he tells easily imaginable 10-minute tales that lull you to sleep. There are three 10-minute stories on each side with nice and quiet music between stories so you can stop tape at the end of a story if you wish. I don't like this one as well as Good Night because "The Toy Shoppe" story involves another person and doesn't seem to capture the spirit of the other Weiss stories. It's still a wonderful tape, and we do listen to it almost as often as the first. It's hard to match a well-loved favorite, and this almost does it. WARNING: My husband and I have fallen asleep countless times listening to these tapes with our son. We always awaken to the abrupt click of the tape player shutting off! Enjoy this tape...and sweet dreams! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Elephant's child in particular
This book is the most valued in my family history. Now my children are asking after it to read to their children because of all of the beloved memories it brings back. The language is a delight. The way Kipling draws the reader and listener in to feel they are part of the story, it is story telling magic at its very best. I can't believe anyone who has this book in their home, once read, will ever be without it. As long as children and that child in all adults long for the gifted story teller's magic, this book is special.

5-0 out of 5 stars Delightful Stories to Read Aloud
If you enjoy language and good story-telling this book belongs on your bookshelf. I've been reading the stories to my seven-year-old daughter who eats them up. Yes, the vocabulary is challenging - it isn't Berenstain Bears! But there is a time for "I Can Read" books and a time for "Read to Me" books. This will challenge kids and their imaginations, especially if they love animals like my kids do. And it's not just for kids - I love the stories too! Buy it!

5-0 out of 5 stars Charming stories with a charming presentation.
I recently purchased this set on cd with a gift certificate for my young daughter. The price tag may have put me off at any other time, but since I was getting it with a certificate, I went for it. I read these stories cover to cover repeatedly as a little girl and took great delight in the hilarity of the answers to such questions as "how did the leopard get his spots?" or "how did the camel get his hump?" Kipling's stories are marvelously nonsensical - which makes them fit for a child's world. However, it was not until hearing them read aloud on this very set that I realized his rhyme and use of repetitive words or phrases is very similar to our modern master of children's literature: Dr. Seuss. It would not surprise me to find that Seuss took his inspiration from the works of Kipling. This is not striking to a reader, but as you listen to his words brought to life by the human voice it is hard to miss.

Geoffrey Palmer, of As Time Goes By, is one of my favorite actors. His voice and interpretation of these beautiful stories enhances the experience so much that I was laughing out loud listening to him in my car. His dry sense of humor is felt in his characterizations of the cast and the lulling of his voice lends a calming, gentle, and sophisticated quality to the text. I now can simply not imagine these stories being read by anybody else.

Finally, the classical musical selection is superb and adds an intelligent whimsiness to the piece. I would highly recommend this set as a lovely gift for any child you find "tenacious and full of segacity". What a delightful alternative to the screech of today's cartoons and children's "pop" albums full of Britney Spears remakes.

5-0 out of 5 stars Just So Stories
The just so stories
By: Rudyard Kipling Published by: William Morrow and Company

This book O best beloved (meaning you, in the language that the author used) is a short story book that has many adventures to it and the one that I'm going to tell you about is the story called, The Beginning of the Armadillos. This plot takes us to the steamy jungles of the Amazon rain forest in South America in the Northern part of Brazil. Also in this plot there lives a painted jaguar, a stickly-prickly hedgehog, and slow and solid tortoise. Now O best beloved (meaning you) this particular jaguar isn't very bright so he goes to his mother for advice on how to eat the hedgehog and the tortoise. Well, as any mother would, she tells him ohhh, so many times graciously waving her tail, "Painted Jaguar to catch the hedgehog you must dip him the water so he will uncoil and you must scoop the tortoise out of it's shell with your paw, got it?!" So he goes to the river to find the hedgehog and the tortoise so he can eat them. The first time they barely got away by confusing him. The hedgehog and the tortoise confuse him by messing up what his mother told him. But the second time Painted Jaguar is confused just by looking at them. You'll have to read it to believe it.

As you know, in this particular story you are introduced to a hedgehog named Stickly-Prickly and a tortoise named Slow and Solid. As you might see these two unique animals are very close and have the same predators. In this story Stickly-Prickly hedgehog and Slow and Solid tortoise are being hunted by a creature named Painted Jaguar, as you know, who is not too smart and has spots. Now since Stickly-Prickly and Slow and Solid were able to fool the jaguar once they want to make him so confused that he won't know which is which just by looking at them. So day after day they teach one another how the other works, like Stickly-Prickly teaches Slow and Solid to curl up and Slow and Solid teaches Stickly-Prickly how to swim. After they have done that and are comfortable with their skills they wait for Painted Jaguar to come looking for them but they don't know that they will never be the same again. Stickly-Prickly hedgehog and Slow and Solid tortoise help this particular story because they are smart and they fool the jaguar and they surprise the reader with their cunning and hard work.

This book has been really fun in the fact that there is more than one story in the book and for me more than one story meant that it was a page turner. The story that I described in this book review was easy to concentrate on because I liked it so much. Some stories in this book were just plain old boring so it was harder to read them . The thing that caught my attention was the language that the author used in the book, I thought that the language was very unique and very funny. To tell the truth I thought that there weren't very many surprises at all, the only surprises would be all the purposes of the story that was being told, like how the camel got his hump or the beginning of the Armadillos. To me they make the language in the book fun, like Oh best beloved and stickly-prickly and slow and solid. The people who might like this book would have to have a sense of humor, so if they have that then the person reading this book will have a very fun time indeed.

1-0 out of 5 stars Complete lack of worthy content
This book lacks substance and the qualities that make a read worth the while, especially since it's for children who may not read that much in the first place. You'd be MUCH better off with something like The Wind in the Willows, or the Berenstain Bear. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars a loving Mom
It is essential that every child and mother should own Wee Sing Bible Songs!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Collection of Childrens Christian songs.
In preparing music for childrens programs, this book/cd collection is a great way to get started. The book contains the music for many traditional childrens songs. It has guitar chords and melody notation for all songs. For songs in a difficult key for beginng guitarists, it has alternative chord combinations to make playing easier. I purchased the CD version of the package so I can listen to a particular song without having to search for it on the tape.

One of the things that children really enjoy about this collection of songs is the hand motions/actions for many of the songs.

This was a great collection for an amature guitarist like myself to use to prepare childrens music for a variety of programs. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Ouch, My Ears!
English part on this CD is awesome - both the background music and the voices sound professionally done. The problem with Chinese is not that the vocalists are bad - for the most part they sound decent - but no matter how good voice you may have if you keep on trying to squish 5 - 10 syllables into a beat of music that can accommodate harmoniously only one or two - it's not going to work.

The music on this CD was created to accommodate English verses. When these English verses got translated to Chinese, the number of Chinese syllables that has to fit into the same music constantly comes out as being either not enough or too much.

it makes me wonder if musicians who were involved in creating these songs didn't have ears to hear how bad the combination sounds, or they didn't care, or thought that kids for whom it was made, would either not notice or care.

This recording could've been done beautifully if instead of using popular western music to accompany Chinese verses, they picked perhaps some Chinese music.

3-0 out of 5 stars the good and the bad
I will attempt to give an objective review.
The good:
* Good concept: the book follows a little Chinese girl, Marie, throughout her day. On the way, you learn the Chinese words for family members, colors, clothing, body parts, days of the week, etc.
* Good Chinese pronunciation: Considering how many local dialects and accents there are in China, I am always concerned about pronunciation.I was pleased to find that the Chinese narrator speaks Mandarin with very good standard (Mainland Chinese) pronunciation.Note: standard Mandarin pronunciationin China and in Taiwan, though similar, have slight differences.
* Good English vocalists.

The bad:
* Poor Chinese vocalist: The narrator, who also does the singing, needs singing lessons! To be fair, she is not a terrible singer, she sings about as well as your average mom or grandma. But then again, your average mom or grandma would not be featured on a music CD, right? In several songs, she is off beat and off pitch.
* Hand-written book: Another thing I did not like is that the book is completely handwritten, so it is not very professional looking.
* Mistakes in the lyrics: I have found that the written Chinese lyrics do not always correspond to what is actually sung and some of the pinyin is incorrect.

Other neutral information:
* The songs are mostly standard western songs with make-shift translations. What bothers me is that many of the songs, such as "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star," have had standard Chinese lyrics for decades, yet the version in this CD sounds as if someone just decided to make up new lyrics. The translation tends to be more or less a direct translation of the English, which is probably what was intended. However, this also means that some of the songs sound very strange in Chinese.
* The Chinese lyrics are written only in pinyin without any Chinese characters, so I had to write them out myself.

Do I recommend this product? Well, that depends on who you are.I believe that this product is useful in introducing VERY YOUNG children to the sound of the Mandarin language.Since young children are a very forgiving audience, they probably won't object to the high-pitched, occasionally out-of-tune vocal performance. My bilingual 3-year-old son loves the CD.So if you have children under 5 and if you believe you can tolerate the singing, I would recommend this product. The product states that it is for kids ages 2 to 12, but I seriously doubt that any child above five years of age will enjoy the music.

1-0 out of 5 stars Almost couldn't be worse
The idea of recording Chinese language children's songs is great, but unfortunately the music on this CD is terrible. The singing sounds like a bad female impersonator, and the music sounds like super-cheapo eletric organ samples. It's almost unbearable to listen to. My spouse who speaks chinese says the pronounciation was unrecognizable, maybe because of the very high pitched voice.

I hope someone else will give this idea a second try and use native chinese speaking children to sing and professional musicians for the music.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent!
We've owned this CD for 2 years now and we listen to it often. My son is now 2 years old and his Chinese daycare teacher is constantly amazed at how well he is picking up Chinese. She tells me that he is learning Chinese much better than the other non-Chinese children. She has asked me more than once if we speak Chinese with him at home. No, we don't! However, I play the "Teach me Chinese", "Teach me More Chinese" and "Sing 'n Learn Chinese" CD's in our car all the time. That's the only Chinese my son hears outside of daycare.

I agree that the Chinese singing voice is a bit weak. I've heard other Chinese music, and it seems to be a quality of Chinese singing to have a high-pitched, nasal sound. The voice on this CD is no different. We got over that hurdle after about 1 week. Just like any new music that you don't really like the first time you hear it, it somehow grows on you. Now I listen to it and it sounds normal. There is also Chinese dialog spoken by children. The songs are all sung in English as well (mostly), and the English singing voices are very pleasant.

A side effect of using the Teach Me Chinese CD's to teach my son Chinese is that I'm starting to pick it up too! I can sing several of the Chinese songs completely from memory now.

If you are serious about giving your child Chinese as their second language, I would definitely recommend the 'Teach me Chinese' series.

1-0 out of 5 stars Major Disappointment
My kids screamed, "Turn it off! Please!"They could not stand listening to the very high pitched and out of tune voice. Needless to say, Teach me Chinese did not work for my children. I have had better luck with Sing 'n Learn Chinese. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars My all time favorite!
I grew up on this tape! I am now in college and can't believe none of my colleagues have heard of Tubby the Tuba! Carol Channing is a wonderful narrator and I would suggest this tape to anyone who has children. I am 19 years old and I still love listening to it, but I guess I am just a kid at heart!

5-0 out of 5 stars Peter and the Wolf Makes a Genius!
My sister in law, Ellen M. gave me this music. We have both sang professionally and we BOTH have very smart tasteful kids!
All of my son's 5 cousins cut their teeth on this recording. This is good music for the babies! Ellen is battling ovarian cancer and I thank her for her music here and now. Please pray.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is the best version
I've listened to many, and this is by far the most animated and entertaining performance. No other audio combines these two works (Peter and the Wolf, and Tubby the Tuba), but this combination is the best match for young or not so young listeners. It's a real gem.

1-0 out of 5 stars Boring!
I did not like Peter and the Wolf. It is a bad story. Dont buy it!

5-0 out of 5 stars Peter & The Wolf via audio tape is a must!
Carol Channing is a wonderful storyteller and she and the orchestra make the classic tales of Peter and the Wolf and Tubby the Tuba come alive. This audio cassette is great for learning the musical instruments, since each character in Peter and the Wolf is represented by a different instrument. My children listened to this over and over again and I'm glad to find it again for my niece and nephew. ... Read more
