The Foot Book is a delightful tribute to the diverse and multifaceted world of feet. Not merely a realm of ankles, arches, and toes--as this self-proclaimed "Wacky Book of Opposites" attests--the podiatry province welcomes all kinds: "Slow feet/Quick feet/Well feet/Sick feet." Dr. Seuss has put his best foot forward here, in a whimsical approach to showcasing opposites. Wet feet contrast dry feet, and low feet contrast high feet. Though hot feet and cold feet aren't specifically referenced, we get the sense that those are okay too. As usual, the rhymes are quick and quirky, and Seuss's illustrations will knock kids' socks off. (Baby to preschool) ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars The Foot Book
The Foot Book, is a great book for little children. This book teaches begining readers easy words to read, and opposites. By the time you finish this book you will be able to tell your right foot from your left foot, morning from night, small from big, up from down, high from low, dry from wet, and slow from quick. Kids will read this book over and over again, because its a fun read, it rhymes, and its so easy that kids can read it themselves with out any help. I recommend The Foot Book to anyone who is just begining and wants an easy and fun book to read.

5-0 out of 5 stars Sure to Please
A typical Dr. Suess book: Some wacky illustrations that are really fun, great rhyming and rythm, easy to read, and fun.

I enjoy reading this book with my almost three year old and my 15 month old. They enjoy the rythm of the words. The words and the text match which makes reading this book that much more enjoyable. The exaggerations are funny and makes my three year old laugh.

We read this book and then think of the things we can do with our feet- walk, hop etc. and act them out.

Enjoy.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great first listening book....
I didn't know what to expect when I purchased this book. I should have known, having grown up with Dr. Seuss myself.
This book kept my daughter's attention on more than one occassion and as she got older she was able to read the book herself.
Just the words themselves: Left foot, left foot, right foot right.... are enough to keep any child happy.
My daughter, who is now a teenager, still puts this book at the top of her list of all time favorites. She loves to purchase this book for the little children that she baby sits, so that they can enjoy the book as much as she had.

5-0 out of 5 stars Dr. Seuss introduces young readers to the joy of adjectives
"The Foot Book: Dr. Seuss's Wacky Book of Opposites" is a board book adapted from the original Bright and Early Book for Beginning Readers, a series of books for the youngest of the young. The idea here is that the stories are brief and funny, the words are few and easy, and there is always a catchy sense of rhyme. Of course "The Foot Book" is about not only the foot (singular) but feet (plural). There are more references to feet (plural) than to feet (singular), if you happen to pay attention to such things (which, apparently, I did). But the key part of this book are all the adjectives that Dr. Seuss comes up with for all those feet.

This happens mostly in terms of oppositional pairs such as right and left, wet and dry, high and low, front and back, etc. Of course sometimes rhyme comes into play as well, such as when we go from small feet to big feet and then to pig feet. The illustrations all feature the strange hairy creatures that populate the imagination of Dr. Seuss, although you will see a pair of rather normal looking kids in the mix as well. Did you ever stop to think that Dr. Seuss is probably the most influential poet of his generation? He is certainly the most imitated, and behind all those silly rhymes was a deep desire to get kids to read. Once your beginning reader has read "The Foot Book," be sure to have them check out the sequel, "Fox in Sox."

2-0 out of 5 stars disapointed
I was so disapointed in this book! My son (at age 2) loved this book in the original form we had; but he was a bit rough on it & I had to tape our copy a few times! So I searched everywhere for a board book version, and was so happy when I found one. I bought it without reading it first (which I almost never do) and was so disapointed in the quality! The pictures are poorly drawn (I think some of them may even be drawn by someone other than Dr. Seuss? maybe the original drawings could not be reprinted or something) and the rhymes were changed. They are awkward and I can't see why they needed to be changed in the first place! For example, changing "Feet in the morning...Feet at night" to "Feet in the day...Feet in the night". This is poor english, and what was wrong with it the way Dr. Seuss wrote it? Twice, they changed "Feet, feet, feet...how many, many feet you meet" to "how many different feet you meet". Again, why? It just sounds better the other way. And finally, why change "slow feet..quick feet...trick feet...sick feet" to "well feet"? It doesn't even make sense- what are Well Feet? The picture is a dog juggling balls- doing a "trick"! I am surprised that the Seuss trustees, who are usually so protective of Dr. Seuss' work would OK this book. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good basic counting book
If your child likes Dora, this is a good book to have in the library. It is a board book, so it holds up well to wear. When my daughter likes a book she tens to read it over and over, so durability is important. I like the fact that she counts fruit, but some of the fruits are a little obscure for my daughter to remember- I've never seen a guava so I can't imagine how she will make the connection. I like having the numbers written in Spanish, and the phonetic pronunciation guide is helpful as well.

This is also good if you own any of the videos, because Dora counts a lot, and the repetion of the numbers is helpful.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very pleasing
This is one of my two year old's favorite board books. The colors are wonderfully bright, and the pronunciation hints help me read the Spanish to her correctly.

4-0 out of 5 stars Kids Like Dora
This book is fine for kids who like the "Dora the Explorer" TV program. However, there are two counting books that are superior: "One, Two, Three: This Book's for Me" by Dr. Seuss and "One, Two, Three: This Book's for Me" by Stuart Samuel.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Book!
Great book! It helps remind me of the correct pronunciation of the numbers. My kids love Dora (ages 2 and 4) and this helps me to teach them more Spanish.

4-0 out of 5 stars Cute!
This book is good because it is in english and spanish. The spanish words are spelled out phonetically for those of us who don't know spanish. Any Dora fan will have fun reading it. ... Read more

Like every Boynton book, this is a good book. The words rhyme and flow nicely, and the pictures are really cute, bold, and colorful. As its name suggests, this book talks about opposites "Big and small, short and tall." The major downside in this book is the words. They still flow nicely and rhyme without strain, but they lack some little charm that almost all of the other Boynton books have. Another reason for this is that it is a list of opposites illustrated and carefully placed so they rhyme. The pictures and placement of the words make up for the actual words however. My favorite picture is for the in/out, two turtles, one in its shell, and one standing on top of it. Every page has a cute picture. Also, the way the words are written, not the words themselves, is a wonderful thing. The big is written big, the small small, the tall vertical, and in the slow each letter is separated.

5-0 out of 5 stars Superb
I believe my husband and I enjoy reading these more than our 18 month old son enjoys hearing them. She is beyond funny.

5-0 out of 5 stars Classic
These Boynton board books cannot go wrong with the young-uns. My nephews and nieces ask me to read them over and over again.

5-0 out of 5 stars Really fun and educational
This was a fun way to teach my daughter about opposites and she enjoys it being read to her over and over and telling me the difference now.

4-0 out of 5 stars Humorous illustrations for a basic concept
"Opposites," by Sandra Boynton, combines colorful illustrations with a very simplified text in order to teach the concept of opposites to young children. Each page of the book contains one or two pairs of words that function as opposites: "big" and "small"; "heavy" and "light"; "day" and "night"; etc. The illustrations are delightful. Boynton uses a variety of cartoon animals (pig, snail, elephant, turtle, etc.) to demonstrate the meaning of each pair of words.

My only reservation about the book is that it seems to reinforce dualistic thinking into children. I know that "opposites" is an important concept for children to learn, but I also believe that children need to develop a more flexible way to perceive and describe the world. Boynton's "Opposites" gives no indication, for example, that there is a "room temperature" in between "hot" and "cold."

While I recommend this book for both its humorous artwork and educational value, I also recommend that parents take time to teach their kids that there are many variations between the seemingly irreconcilable opposites presented herein. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Rich in marvelous images
Dr. Seuss's extraordinary body of work is a collective treasure, but from that group of books a few stand out as his best. "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish" certainly belongs in the category of Seuss's finest. Rich in clever rhymes and memorable images, this book scores a literary home run on nearly every page.

Directed towards early readers, "One Fish" uses simple language in its funny rhymes. Seuss mixes his own created words together with standard vocabulary, resulting in such memorable lines as "just jump on the hump of the Wump of Gump." And these rhymes are accompanied by a rich variety of images that can only be described as "Seussian": A mother fish pushing her offspring in a baby carriage, a bed being commandeered by a menagerie of animals, and more.

Futhermore, in "One Fish" Dr. Seuss introduces us to a wonderful assortment of Seussian creatures: the singing Ying, the hopping Yop, a truly bizarre creature known simply as "Clark," and many more. These images are sure to energize the imaginations of both children and adults.

Seuss's images range from the joyful to the eerie, from the baroque to the earthy. I give "One Fish" my most enthusiastic recommendation.

5-0 out of 5 stars IF YOU WISH TO WISH A WISH
.

At least two generations of parents and their children have now been immersed in the wonderful world of Dr Suess. The fun filled fantasy world of Dr Suess has lost none of its charm. "One Fish Two Fish" is one of his best.

The theme of this book is "funny things are everywhere". Dr Suess goes on to prove this by introducing a long list of fantastic but friendly characters. The creatures are at times outrageous looking but they are never frightening. There is no chance of monster-phobia developing in children after reading these books.

Anything is possible in this book. You have to love the seven hump Wump with its eight legs. It bears an uncanny resemblance to a camel.

Children will get to love the rhyme and rhythms of the words in this book. Children will be encouraged to make their own word play. It is possible new skills in creative thinking and even musical aptitude may emerge in children after having fun in the Suess world. On thing is for sure, a love of reading will certainly be encouraged.

Spatial thinking is encouraged with humorous signposts to Near and Far, and Here and There. Young minds will adore taking the advice "if you wish to wish a wish".

"One fish two fish" makes a great bedtime book. It is long enough and exhausting enough to pacify the most agile young mind. They can go off to dream land pondering "did you ever fly a kite in bed" and then "curl up with your Pet Zeep".

5-0 out of 5 stars Prescient political pondering of our polarized prolatariat
Just as Seuss covered anti-intellectualism in Green Eggs and Ham, and alternate lifestyles in Hop on Pop, the Fish book is a trenchant political analysis. Foreseeing the red vs. blue state deadlock back in the idealistic better-living-through-chemistry early 1960s, Suess contrasts the red (as in communist) fish with the all-American blue fish. This motif weaves through the book, teaching little ones the red vs. blue tension of multiculturalism (in the form of strange animals) and isolationism of Ned in his too-small bed. While most younger children will miss the allusion to Procrustes, they may remember the literary echo in Hop on Pop: Ned joins Red, Ted, and Ed in a more appropriately sized bed, and Seuss shows his support for the UN, or at least the International Monetary Fund.

The tension is palpable when the young boy and girl bring home a large, walrus-like pet and wonder how their mother will feel about their deed; no preschooler could miss this reference to the Teapot Dome scandal. Similarly, their advice to get a pet Yink simply because of its fondness for pale red india writing product is a sardonic commentary on rampant consumerism. And the camel-like Wump shows his prophetic realization that our demand for oil would force us to deal with the Saudis on a regular basis.

Seuss warns us of the coming divide in these United States in the introduction: "From there to here, from here to there, funny things are everywhere." It starts with the fish, red, blue, and black (but not white, showing where Geisel's sympathies lie), young and old, then proceeds up the evolutionary chain to large land mammals, eventually including the aforementioned school-aged boy and girl. They serve as the Adam and Eve as well as the Joe and Joan Sixpak of the book. They espouse embracing what is different while they reinforce doing the same.

Seuss knew where we were headed in both 2000 and 2004, and this book shows the way out. The US has plenty of (pale) red ink, so we should get a Yink. I think.

5-0 out of 5 stars Every day, from here to there, funny things are everywhere
You might think that "One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish" is a Dr. Seuss book about counting or colors (or counting and colors or even counting colors), but that would simply be the hook for something much larger. The thesis of this Beginner Book appears opposite the first page, where we are informed by a small creature with a giant mustache and a yellow star for a belly button that "From there to here, from here to there, funny things are everywhere." If anything this Dr. Seuss book has bits and pieces from lots of other Dr. Seuss books. You have a series of opposite because fish are not only red and blue but old and new, you have Ned who does not like his bed, there is Yop who only likes to hop from finger top to finger top, and all sorts of strange looking animals. There is even a creature that looks like the Cat in the Hat except he is completely yellow, including his hat, has a polka dot bow tie, and eleven fingers.

Consequently, if "One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish" is one of the first Dr. Seuss books that a beginning reader begins reading they should go back and read it again after they have gone through the rest of the good doctor's books because they will then be better able to appreciate some of the familiar faces in this book. However, since this is not a book for early beginning readers, most kids will get to this one after they have covered the basic Dr. Seuss books and become well accustomed to his delightful volumes of rhymed absurdity. This particular book has been inspiring the imagination of beginning readers since 1960 and there is no reason for it to stop with that endeavor at this point in time.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great book
Unlike most Dr. Seuss books, this book has no real plot. For the most part it is made up of unconnected pages that flow nicely into one another. The lack of plot is not something that harms the book in my eyes, I like the chance encounters with the strange creatures, and I think the lack of a plot helps to make this story special.

Throughout this book we are introduced to a number of cute creatures from fish to Wumps to Zeds. Like all Dr. Seuss creations they are very cute, bold, colorful and expressive. Another characteristic of a Dr. Seuss book is how the words flow wonderful and manage to rhyme well in a manner completely unforced and effortless. This is one of my favorite Dr. Seuss books.

My 6 year old daughter picked it up and sat down and read it to me in awe at the brightly colored pictures and very excited to find out where the green sheep was! 5-0 out of 5 stars A real joy! A great addition to your child's library.
The dinosaurs in this book are friendly and cute. The pictures work well with the writing. The almost repetitive nature of this book make it easy for children to remember and read the book themselves.

My son loves this book. Even now whenever he sees something dinosaur, he'll say "Roar"!

There are so many books for children out there, it's hard for me to say one is a must have over the other. However, this is one that children will love. I found it well worth the money we spent on it.

4-0 out of 5 stars A fun book, good words and rhyming!
This is a great book for early reading and for fun time with the kids! My son loves it, while my daughter only likes it. It is fun to read with lots of sounds and a variety of "roars".

The graphics are colorful and nice with colorful dinosaurs that and smile a lot, and not scary - dinosaurs can easily go over the "top" and get scary for kids if not done right. The words are few, and go well together with quick rhyming and therefore good for early reading.

Most of all, it is fun! My son is now almost 4 and still pulls this book out and still has a lot of fun while we read it. Your results may vary, because I'm a good "roarer"!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Little Book

Olivia knows all about opposites. Sometimes this porcine heroine of IanFalconer's Caldecott Honor Book, Olivia, is "plain," attiredonly in red briefs. Other times she is "fancy," with high-heeled dress-up shoes, lipstick, pearls, and a big red bow. Sometimes—-when Olivia is running thecircus, for example (Olivia Savesthe Circus)--she is very "loud" with a lion, which renders the lionrather "quiet." Whether meeting this energetic and incorrigible piglet for thefirst or the 100th time, readers of all ages will be happy to watch Olivia dopretty much anything, even something as simple as counting (Olivia Counts) or teachingabout opposites. 5-0 out of 5 stars Get this before the other Olivia books
We got this for our son when he was 3 months old, and this is absolutely his favorite book. We're not sure why, but this book has the power to calm him down almost any (and I mean any) time we read it to him. I think it may be because of the great pictures. We purchased this book before any of the other Olivia books and I think that's what the intention was; this book introduces younger kids to Olivia, before they're ready for the other books. As a result, we weren't disappointed at all and in fact are looking forward to the day when our son doesn't rip apart regular books so we can try the other Olivia stories.

5-0 out of 5 stars Plain, but fancy...oh so cute
LOVE this book!! Everyone is upset because the drawings were taken from his other 2 books, but that is how children learn...through repitition. My 2 year old reads it to me...we laugh a lot, especially at the "plain/fancy" pic's. with all the lipstick & pearls. So cute! Who would have thought of that one. Check out Olivia counts book too...7 accessories, how adorable!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars More Olivia.....
Ian Falconer's, Olivia is back in all her irrespressible glory, and this time she's teaching little ones about opposites. This simple and sturdy board book features pictures of our favorite little piglet, on each two page spread, demonstrating in imaginative ways the concepts of up and down, long and short, quiet and loud, plain and fancy, and open and closed. Falconer's trademark black and white drawings, highlighted with splashes of red are engaging, and Olivia's personality and sense of style always shines through. Though there is nothing really new here, youngsters three and under will be charmed and delighted. Olivia's Opposites works well with Mr Falconer's other board book, Olivia Counts.

3-0 out of 5 stars A somewhat dissappointing opposite book for Olivia fans
I bought this book for my almost three year old daughter because she has shown an intrest in learning about opposites and we both love Olivia. My main complaint about this book is the same one I have for Olivia's counting. There are no new pictures of Olivia in this book. All of the pictures come from Ian Falconer's previous two story books Olivia and Olivia at the Circus. It seems like Mr. Falconer didn't feel like putting forth anything new for his two Olivia board books. Anyone hoping to get a further glimpse into Olivia's personality will not find it here. I am somewhat supprised that he chose to make such a simple opposites book when the original Olivia storybooks are for more sophisticated. That said the opposites are good simple ones that young children will understand for example up/down, quiet/loud, and my favorite plain/fancy (hadn't thought to teach my daughter that one). I think that this book is best for very young children. If your child is able to understand the two full length Olivia storybooks than there are better opposite books out there. Check out Chuck Murphy's Opposites if you have a preschooler. It is an interactive experience.

I bought this book on a whim for our one-year old son. We kept it in the diaper bag to keep him quiet at church and other places. Just this small bit of exposure was enough that suddenly my very young son knew his shapes and identified them correctly in all sorts of contexts. I'm buying this book for my nephew and I'm getting all the other Razzle Dazzle books too. I highly recommend it!! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Old hat New hat
The story of this book was that he went to go look for a new hat for his old one, he looked and looked ,but could not find a new one all he wanted is his old hat.

This book thought me that new thing's aren't always better then old thing's.

The age level for this book is 3-6.

I would recommend this book for a young one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Lessons in Haberdasheries!!!!
This is a great little book, and it's lots of fun too. I have always like the Berenstain Bears, and this book is no exception. The artwork is wonderful, and the most intriguing part of the book is how the character enters the store with his own hat on and leaves with the same one attached to his head. And in between it is all the different kinds of hats, and the multi-colored and diverse types and shapes of hats, plus the rhymes which go with it. It's not a profound story, but the kids love to see the hats and the primary colors. It's astounding and FUN!!! Highly recommended!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars The first book my son "read"
This is the first book my then 2 year old son "read" all by himself & I've captured it on video which he watches with delight. He must have been so proud of himself he later went on to read independently by 3. He's now 5 and reading Dick King-Smith and The Magic Tree House books and Wayside School stories and World Book entries and anything he lays his hands on.

It's about a bear with a tatty hat who goes into a store to buy a new hat. The salesman shows him many hats which he rejects as being too big, too small, too flat, too tall, etc. It's a great way to introduce adjectives and rhyme and improve memory and boost confidence too. It comes with a surprise ending too. it's a very simple book, but perhaps that's the beauty of it - that it can do so much with so little.

4-0 out of 5 stars Beloved story
My son loved this book three or four years after it was first published. His son loves it 25 years later. I can probably recite the entire text by heart ... each new hat being rejected as "too tall, too flat", "too heavy, too light" ... pictures of the unacceptable hats on the Berenstain books are absolutely right for a child's humor.

5-0 out of 5 stars Monster faces make happy faces
My one-year old daughter loves this book so much that she has completely worn it out. It is quite durable but she carries it everywhere. It is her favorite. She enjoys making 'monster voices' to go with the monster faces. She has taken to reading it to herself at times. We love this book and are buying it for a friend's newborn - along with another copy for my daughter!

5-0 out of 5 stars One of our very favorites
Our 2 two year olds love Monster Faces. The wonderful part of this little book is the way it promotes interaction and playfulness between reader and child! Our son & daughter get so excited when I start reading the book -- they dance around and giggle. We have a ball making our own faces along with the friendly monsters in the book. Some of the muppet monster faces are "shy face", "happy face", "silly face", "scary face", "grumpy face", "surprise face", "silly face", ending with "my face". What a great book!! I highly recommend it. Get ready to jump in and be silly!

5-0 out of 5 stars One of our favorites
My son loves this book! He's only 3 months old, but he likes to look at the pictures and hear me act out the faces with my voice. I'm sure this little book will continue to be one of his favorites. I agree that Amazon's age group seems off.

Two-time Caldecott Medalists Leo and Diane Dillon (Why Mosquitoes Buzz in People'sEars and Ashanti to Zulu:African Traditions) have joined their ingenious artwork with the magicof Margaret Wise Brown's words. Brown, beloved author of Goodnight Moon, wrote TwoLittle Trains more than 50 years ago. Now a new generation of the youngestreaders will be filled with wonder at this timeless story with its splendid newillustrations.

Two trains are heading west. One is streamlined, the other small and old. Ontheir parallel journeys, the trains encounter rivers, hills, snow, and duststorms, but neither is thwarted. But look closer and see that these two trains, though similar in many ways, have a surprising difference: one is the realthing, traversing the countryside, and the other is a toy, making its way acrossrug fringe "tracks," along the edge of a bathtub, through a tunnel made from abook, and past a broom and dust pan. Brown's brilliant yet simple text and theDillons' clever and striking pictures, will serve as inspiration to many flightsof fancy in young readers' minds. Truly exquisite. 5-0 out of 5 stars A Successful Journey . . .
I borrowed this book from our Public Library for my 2-year old train lover (he picked it out for the cover and illustrations), and we both liked it so much that I purchased it on Amazon. The words are simple and rhythmic and tell a simple story of traveling across the country to the west coast. The beautiful pastel illustrations flesh out the words magnificently. They are rich with things to look at, yet very soft and calming at the same time. The parallels presented in the pictures with each left/right spread are wonderfully engaging. For example, I love the real train going through a rainstorm while the toy train runs past the shower in the bathroom!

Unlike some of the other reviewers, I believe even young (2 and up) children can understand the parallels between the two train's journeys, even without coaching from their reading partner. "Look, Mommie, the shower is like rain for the toy train!" It is a wonderful vehicle to help children think creatively.

For adults, there are even more rewarding subtleties. For example, if you look at the cover, you note the toy train is wrapped in a gift box sitting atop the luggage on the train platform in front of the real train. The title pages show the box unwrapped before the story begins. In the last two pages of the book, the real train reaches its destination, and the toy train is seen on the floor approaching the bed of a sleeping child. I interepreted this as representing that someone who loved the child - a traveling parent, relative, family friend, etc. - had traveled on the real train to the child's home and brought the toy train as a present for the child.

The two trains cross mountains and rivers, go through dark tunnels, rain and snow storms, and travel long distances to reach their destinations. As a mother, I found this to be a fine allegory of a parent's love. Neither rain, nor snow, nor fringe on the rug will keep a loving parent from a child's side. Each train faces trials which are difficult in their own measure for the train in question, yet each train ultimately completes its journey successfully.

I find the last page - the image of the toy train reaching the sleeping child, to be wonderfuly evocative. Though the book ends there, as I believe it should, one can easily imagine the delighted child coming down the stairs in the morning, carrying the toy train, and looking eagerly for their loved one. I have no idea if that was Ms. Brown's intention, but that is how her book reached me.

There are many levels on which to enjoy this book, and I heartily recommend it for age 2 and up along with their reading partners. The sense of coming home to warmth and safety make it a great bedtime book as well.

4-0 out of 5 stars all aboard!!
Two Little Train compares the life of a real train to that of a toy train. Each is pictured doing the same thing in it's own way. For example the real train is shown going over a bridge and the toy train is shown on the ledge of a bathtub. This book is sure to delight train lovers of all ages.

It might be a little hard for young children to understand the parallels that are shown. Parents might have to expalin this to children under 4.

We recommend this book to children ages 1-4. The illustrations are colorful, fun, and contain lots of interesting things to look at.

4-0 out of 5 stars I think I like this book more than my son does right now.
This is a wonderful book for any little train lover. However, the subtle correlations between the "bedroom" train and the "country" train are lost on my 3 year old right now. I love how Brown mirrors the toy train set-up in the household with the real train travelling through the countryside on the opposite page. The artwork is lovely, and the story is clear and simple. It's a nice, calming book, perfect for the end of the day.

5-0 out of 5 stars This author is brilliant!!
All of his seek n slide books are amazing and I highly recommend them. My daughter knew all her colors, shapes, numbers and opposites before the age of 2 because of these books. Opposites, just like the others, are made specifically for a younger child. I would say 9mo -3 yrs old. My daughter LOVES to pull the slide tabs out and they are very sturdy and have held up to constant pulling. These books teach by reinforcing what is learned in the pull tab. It is a great memory game as well. Chuck Murphy knows how to make books that younger kids will not only appreciate but actually learn fast!

2-0 out of 5 stars Nice book but with errors
All the other books I've seen in this series have had Spanish-language error, but this one has the most, which I believe is due to the difficulty in trying to translate one-word prepositions in English into Spanish, which frequently require entire phrases. For example, for 'under' she has 'bajo'. In fact in Spanish one would have to say 'debajo' or 'abajo' (depending on whether you meant 'underneath' or 'movement under' something). Same thing goes for 'up' and 'down' (her translations are wrong.

Like the other books in this series, she seems for be using a Spanish-English dictionary and has little fluency in Spanish herself.

5-0 out of 5 stars This whole series is wonderful
I have been using this entire series with my son since he was born, and he is now 14 months. He loves the pictures and turning the pages. The books use the format of one word per page and it gives both the English and Spanish form of the word. This is a great series for early language acquisition.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great series
We have all of the books in this series. I have an 18 month old who has been studying these books for 6 months now. At this point, he is least interested in this book.
