Book Description

Winner of Today's Librarian "Best Children's Resource" award!

When a child's parents tell her they have decided to divorce, the last thing she wants to do is talk about it. Instead, she wants to roar as loud as a lion so she can't hear their painful words, or turn into a fish and hide her tears in the sea, or even become a bird and fly away. But with her mother and father's help, she starts to consider what life will be like after divorce and learns that although some things will change, many other things will remain the same. Most importantly, she realizes that although her parents may not agree about much, one thing they do agree on is that they both love her very much and will always be her mom and dad.

I Don't Want To Talk About It features a comprehensive afterword that describes children's common reactions to divorce and offers parents suggestions for helping their own children adjust and thrive. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Recommendation despite initial misgivings
Though I was initially put off by the stark whiteness of the characters, I highly recommend this book to anyone going through divorce with young children. This book reads like poetry, is beautifully illustrated, and gets to the point quickly. All this allowed my active 4 year old son to be taken in on the first read, ask for it a second time, and actually start TALKING about his feelings!

5-0 out of 5 stars I Just Have To Talk About It
The text covers the issue of divorce excellently. The "Note to Parents" at the end of the book is a wonderful tool for parents considering divorce or at at any stage of the process. This book is a "must have" for helping children sort through divorce issues AND it is SO MUCH MORE! Less abstract than 'My Many Colored Days' by Dr. Suess, this book is very effective! Through the use of animal imagery 'I Don't Want to Talk About It' covers the range of emotion a child might feel during ANY transitional time. As Director of Children's Ministry, I have used it to open discussion with assorted ages of children dealing with various issues. The kids compare their feelings or situation with the girl in the book. In my book 'I Don't Want to Talk About It' transcends the ages, the issues, and is a lot to talk about.

5-0 out of 5 stars Helping kids to understand what's happening to them
Children have a hard enough time dealing with their parents' divorce without getting patronizing advice from grownups who think they know better. This book speaks to children on their level, and gives them a chance to realize that although their lives will change, their parents' love for them will not. Children need to know that the things they count on the most will always be there, and this book helps reassure them that they will be OK despite what's going on with mom and dad.

4-0 out of 5 stars Starting to Talk about It
Some books get to the heart of things. "I Don't Want to Talk about It" is one of them. I could say that it's a skillful psychological examination of the feelings a girl experiences when her parents announce that they plan to divorce. That would be true. But this girl expresses real emotions in ways a kid can completely understand with gobbling crocodiles and prickly porcupines. The animal metaphors make room for energetic pictures by Kathryn Kunz Finney. The lively text and illustrations raise this book head and shoulders above the standard divorce books.

5-0 out of 5 stars Help children of all ages work through the stages of divorce
This book is a great way to help children deal with the losses associated with divorce. Through the use of animal characters, children are able to explore the feelings and experiences encountered in a divorce. The characters give children an avenue to begin discussing what they are experiencing and an opportunity to talk about what is happening to them. This book is a kind, gentle way for a parent to help and support their child through a difficult situation. ... Read more

Book Description

Max does everything he can think of to encourage his new sibling to be born. He talks to his mommy's tummy, sings to it, plays his drum for it, but nothing seems to work. Max is convinced that this baby will never arrive ... until the day finally comes when Daddy takes Mommy to the hospital.

Harriet Ziefert has written a delightful story about the anticipation of a new arrival. Expectant parents will want to read it with their children, and soon-to-be older siblings are sure to identify with Max. Best of all, there's a gift in the back of the book for the big brother or sister to give to the new baby: a nursery door hanger with two important messages: "Shhhh! Baby sleeping" and "Come in! Baby awake."

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for Toddlers!
It can be very difficult to find a book that discusses the "waiting" process before a new sibling arrives in a family. It is even more difficult to find a book that will keep the attention of a 2 1/2 year old. This book covers all of these obstacles and my son LOVES it!

This book discusses a boy named Max waiting for his new sibling to arrive (sister). He does all sorts of things to get the baby's attention inside his mommy's tummy. You can be creative in the way you read this book to your child ,and he/she will find even more enjoyment in the inside cover pages that show the year before the baby is born, and the year after the baby is born.

This book was worth every penny I spent for it!

2-0 out of 5 stars Amazing and sweet story.
This is a wonderful story, especially for the 3-5 year olds. Max's sweet and emotional style helped my son cope with his own feelings while waiting for his baby sister to come. This is a MUST HAVE book for expecting moms with a preschooler in tow. Then, after this one...you must get Harriet Ziefert's Talk Baby!

5-0 out of 5 stars My 3 -and-1/2-year-old son loves this book!
We're expecting our second child in a few months, and my son (3 and 1/2) loves the idea that he is going to be a "big brother." This book really highlights some of the feelings he's got -- even though our delivery is months away, not days. We especially like the pages printed on the inside-front and inside-rear covers, which show vignettes from the year in which the baby is born (including full term of pregnancy) and the year after the baby is born. Every time we sit down to read this book, we end up having a half-hour conversation about how my son is going to be such a big helper when the baby comes.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great story!
I bought this book for my 2 1/2 year old nephew when we found out he is going to be a big brother (of course, the fact that his name is Max clinched the sale!). This book is his current favorite...he knows it by heart and likes to "read" it on his own or to others. The story is written in the third person, but at a level that he can understand and relate to. My nephew especailly loves to look at the pictures in the front and back cover (which depict the year leading up to the baby's birth and the year following the baby's birth) and the two pages where Max does special things with his parents (ride his bike, play ball, go on a long walk, etc.) My next purchase will be a story about living with a new baby, since this one was such a big hit!

5-0 out of 5 stars Hurry Up, Baby!
My mother gave this book to my 3 year old daughter when she started to become very impatient for her new little brother to arrive. It is a fun story about how Max deals with his frustration that his new baby sister is taking her time in being born. He even tries a little reverse psychology! My daughter loved this book, and still wants to read it even though her "new baby" brother is now 6 months old! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars When I Feel Angry
This book is very helpful in teaching kids about anger. It is a nice discussion to have with young kids. They often feel relieved that someone is willing to talk to about it especially if they have anger problems.

5-0 out of 5 stars When I Feel Angry
I loved this book. The way the rabbit character looks when sheis angry is just the way I feel sometimes. I think this is a veryhelpful book for when you are feeling upset. It gives good ideas to make you feel better.

5-0 out of 5 stars A gentle lesson for young readers about anger.

5-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful for ages 3-5
Our family loves Patricia Polacco books- especially me.This book is no exception in that the illustrations are enchanting, colorful, and absolutely signature Polacco. However, I was surprised and somewhat shocked that this book is geared toward a much younger audience than the author usually targets. There is no wonderful, tear-inspiring story or characters.Instead, it's an extremely simplistic book using farm animal sounds.I'm delighted for the little ones in the audience but disappointed for others who expect a more complex book.In totem it's an exceptional gift for the eyes and ears of those ages 3-5. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Bad illustrations
I found this book to be trite and predictable. It could help children and parents to prepare for Kindergarten, but so could many other books that are better, such as the Miss Bindergarten books or The Night Before Kindergarten. I understand that young children need simple, colorful books, but the illustrations in Look Out Kindergarten just did not do it for me. I myself have little visual art ability, but feel I could have illustrated this book better. Being a librarian, I know that preschool age children need great illustrations to enhance their listening; this book was a large disappointment.

3-0 out of 5 stars For Younger children
I bought this book for my almost five year old granddaughter who is about to enter kindergarten and found it to be below her comprehension and appreciation standards. Her younger sister who is 2 seemed to enjoy it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good Memories
This is a wonderful book! I can remember not being able to read the text when I was younger to go on to learn out to read it as I got older. I loved the scratch and sniff parts of the book. However in the older book the stickers were in the shape of the object to be smelled. Now there are just round stickers. The scents still smell pretty much the same though.

3-0 out of 5 stars No chocolate mint cookie?! **sob!**
"If ain`t broke, don`t fix it."

I love this book, and I ordered the Jan. 2004 edition in order to share this wonderful memory with other little readers. The original illustrations are still intact as far as I know, but what happened to the chocolate mint cookie?!...And what happened to those great stickers that I used to fawn over? They`ve all been exchanged for plain round and glossy stickers glued on to the illustrations, as if the only reason for them was to give off the scent! Even the sticker in the spoon for the jam was sacrificed! I used to be amazed by them, because they were duplicates of the illustrations in scratch n` sniff form...it was like I really did have my very own sample of everything Little Bunny tried. The current ones look like a cost-cutting maneuver, and they stick out like a sore thumb!

As long as Golden Books is going to reprint a book that is an old favorite, why did they have to sacrifice these details?!

By the way, the illustrations of this book and text are still great; anyone who didn`t catch the original version are not going to be sorry. People who buy this out of nostalgia, however, will notice!

Chocolate chip cookie, my foot! *grumble, grumble*

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Book to Read To Toddler
My husband and I love to read "I Was so Mad" along with our 21 month old daughter. The short story easily depicts the everyday frustrations that little ones run into and their feeling "mad" when they can not do what they want but then finding an alternative that does make them happy. Our daughter loves the pictures as well as helping us read along and say "So Mad" at the end of many of the pages. All in all- it's one of our favorites.

4-0 out of 5 stars I was so mad
I read the book I was so mad By Mercer Mayer and it was about a little critter named critter. He wanted to have fun inside the house but everything he wanted to do was agenst the rules. He got mad and decited to run away. As he was walking he saw some friends that wanted to play baseball and he went to ask his mom and she said yes.Over all it was a good book and ive read it many of times and i will read it whenever i can.It teaches kids that you may not like the rules but if u go by them you will have fun.ages 3-8

4-0 out of 5 stars I Was So Mad by Mercer Mayer
I think I Was So Mad, along with the other Mercer Mayer books, is a great book that kids can relate to and learn from. In this book, Little Critter espresses his feelings of frustration and of being angry in a way that most children do in at least one point of time in their life. I enjoyed reading Mercer Mayer books as a child and even now i can't help picking up one of these simple books to read when i see one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Easy-Reader!
I Was So Mad. By Mercer Mayer. Golden Book, 1983. 24 pages.

Little critters are obviously no exception to the repeated "no" that children hear throughout a day, according to Mercer Mayer in his book "I Was So Mad." Little Critter never gets to do anything he wants-even tickling the goldfish and keeping frogs in the bathtub are off limits. His family finally makes him "so mad" that he decides to run away, until he is at last granted permission to play with his friends. Although illustrations take up a good deal of the white space in this Level 2 easy reader, the large, dark, typeface remains easy to follow. Repetitions of "I was so mad" and "No, you can't" help the young reader get through some of the more unfamiliar passages yet are not monotonous as they are an integral part of the plot. The adorable watercolor and ink illustrations follow the text closely, and serve as a tool for the child trying to decode what Little Critter is not allowed to do. This delightful book serves as a good foundation for the six to eight year old reader who is learning that there is meaning behind the text he reads. Children will easily relate to Little Critter's complaints and likely will recall similar experiences, bringing them even more enjoyment while reading. Undoubtedly, Little Critter will quickly become a favorite friend for the beginning reader.

4-0 out of 5 stars little critter
"I was so Mad," by Mercer Mayer, is a well illustrated, seemingly creative book for children. It is significantly simple for young children to comprehend, and is inticing. It tells another tale of Little Critter, and follows the same format of previous childrens books written by Mercer Mayer. " I was so Mad," is fun for children because they can relate to being told no when wanting to do things Mom and/or Dad disagree with. Little Critter finds it difficult to accept that he can't help paint the house, or have frogs in the bathtub. Toward the end, he is so upset having been told no repeatedly, he packs up and announces he is running away. On the way out the door some friends stop by and ask if he would like to join them at the park for a game of baseball. He asks Mom, and for once she says yes. He decides that for now he will go play, and if he is still upset, he will run away the following day. It was well written with young children ages 2-4 in mind. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A favorite story en Francais!
This is the French version of the popular "Goodnight Moon." Iwas looking all over for some simple French storybooks to read to my baby (now 12 months) and was delighted to find this book we are already familiar with. I haven't used my French much since college, but I would like for my baby to learn the language at a young age. I have purchased other French children's books on-line but found they were for older children (those who won't be flipping the pages every 5 words) and required a French dictionary nearby for my limited vocabulary. Since I have pretty much memorized the English-version "Goodnight Moon" and so has he, this is a good one for us to start out with. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Irresistible cuddly animals with human personalities.
Beatrix Potter acquired her love and knowledge of animals and the countryside during family holidays in Scotland. She also had animals as her constant companions as a child. She sketched and observed them for hours at a time.

Beatrix Potter's books have never lost their popularity. They are sold by the millions and have been translated into over fifteen languages. While her first story in 1902, "The Tale of Peter Rabbit" was published in a small edition by Frederick Warne, within a year it was an instant best seller.

This deluxe volume is a collection of all twenty-three tales and some previously unpublished works. The stories are arranged in the order of publication as several are linked together by events or familiar characters.

Both the watercolors and black and white illustrations have been included. Children will adore the rhyming names of goosey gander and pig-wig. The animals seem to almost take on human personalities. In fact, these magical stories are often connected with real people places or animals.

Little girls who have a doll house will love "The Tale of Two Bad Mice," in which two hungry mice try to eat the artificial plaster doll food. Even at my age I found it irresistibly amusing. These little animals just have such great personalities.

5-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Illustrations and Wonderful Stories
Beatrix Potter wrote wonderful stories for children! All of the books do have a subtle moral- which is good, imho. Disobedient children are punished in some books- but this does not mean they are dark stories. Her stories are so full of light, the children are not oppressed (in one story a young bunny is spanked- this is only because he went somewhere he'd been told not to b/c his life would be endangered). All of her characters are full of life and love- and so many stories portray great imaginative fun. Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle is especially fun.

These books are true English classics- full of love for life and imagination.

5-0 out of 5 stars Timeless Book
I read the stories of Beatrix Potter when I was a child and now share them with my own kids. Also check out the book Original Animals by Michael Horton as a great bedtime storybook with morals and wonderful stories. You'll be happy you did!

The most fascinating part of an animal, in the minds of many young children, is the tail. Not only do kids lack such appendages, they've been told that, as tempting as they are to yank on, tails are not to be touched. Fortunately, this charming, texture-rich board book (with patches of real fake fur!) is the next best thing. A vast menagerie of cartoonish critters play and scamper around the pages of Matthew Van Fleet's Tails sporting tails of all types: bumpy alligator tails, fuzzy tiger tails, and even slightly stinky scratch-and-sniff skunk tails. Children can pull the tabs to make some of the tails wag or swish. The story line is minimal, as animals lounge about playing with one another and generally having good-natured fun. Catchy rhyming verse ("Tails fluffy, tails stringy, scaled tails strong and clingy. Tails long. Tails stumpy, pulling tails makes snoozers grumpy") keeps the action moving along and encourages young readers eager to turn the page. Shoddy construction can often spell doom for lift-the-flap and touch-and-feel children's books but Tails is every bit as well-designed as it is well-written and illustrated. 5-0 out of 5 stars My Son Loves It!!
My mother-in-law bought this book for my son last week. He absolutely loves it! He is 21 months old. He wants this book read to him several times a day and he is getting really good at identifying the animals and doing all of the "tricks" himself. It is nice that the book is so sturdy too...he isn't exactly gentle! I would definately recommend this book to anyone with kids (or a kid at heart...I love it too!)

5-0 out of 5 stars Great!
I'm 14 years old. I babysat at this kids house last night and she had this book. I think I liked it more than she did it was so cool. I love how all the tails feel! There was only one page I didn't like and that was the skunk page it has a scratch and sniff thing and it acctually smells like a skunk it was pretty gross! But overall its a pretty cool book!

5-0 out of 5 stars Educators Recommend
Toddlers love Tails ! At least that was our experience when we brought this fun, interactive book into a Head Start classroom. As its name implies, this is a book about various types of tails-from tiger tails to pig tails.

Each double page features something to touch (a shiny blue peacock tail), manipulate (a wagging fox tale), or smell (a skunk tail). The final two pages picture each of the creatures the reader has met throughout the book and allows them to count from one to ten.

Included are: foxes, pandas, pangolins, weasels, chipmunks, alligators, and tamarins, as well as the previously mentioned tigers and pigs.

The book itself is brilliantly designed and engineered. The covers are thick hardboard. The interior pages are heavy and sturdy and will hold up to repeated readings. We suggest that you buy several for your classroom-its that good.

Tails receives our highest recommendation.

I bought Tails on a whim and boy was it worth it. My 10 month old gets wide eyed with a big grin as he anticipates the next page. His favorite is the peacock tail. It is a great touch and feel book and it incorporates many different animals that are not as common in children's books. I have to keep the book up because although it is sturdy and well constructed, it is still no match for a 10 month old unsupervised.

5-0 out of 5 stars Tails: A Favorite
Tails is by far my son's favorite book. He has us read it to him at least a dozen times a day. If we're not reading it, he's reading it to himself. Fortunately it's a delightfully illustrated book and holds up well to multiple reads. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Superb To Read To Your Child
I love reading this book to my almost 3 year old. I could not have said it better myself. It reinforces that we love them no matter what they do. It's quick, simple, happy reading!

5-0 out of 5 stars Love this book!
This is one of my little boy's favorite bedtime books. It's perfect for 3-5 year olds, it's a thin, easy read with just one sentence per page. The illustrations are simple but wonderful. And best of all, this book imparts the message every mommy wants to send to her little one(s), that they are loved no matter how they feel or what they do. Keep in mind, this is strictly a mommy book, there is no daddy fox to be seen, but my little boy's father still enjoys reading this book to him. A great buy!

5-0 out of 5 stars Super book to share with a young person you love!
A warm and caring story about a mother's love for her child. McPhail's illustrations, of a young fox and his mother interacting in a variety of situations, convey the emotions of both characters throughout the story. Whether happy or sad, frightened or angry, the young fox is reminded of his mother's love. Although not as moving as Love You Forever by Robert Munsch, the illustrations make this book more enjoyable and a better book for sharing one-on-one with young children. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars 8 year old loved it!
My son was recently diagnosed with ADHD and I wanted to get him some books so that he realized he wasn't one in the world with ADHD. He loved it. He has started writing a journal -- red pencil and all.

5-0 out of 5 stars Just Wonderful For Everyone Involved With An ADD Child!!
I bought this book along with several others when my 8 year old son was diagnosed with ADD. Along with the ADD came depression and anxiety, due, of course, to a high IQ and stresses in school. I wanted to buy some books for children about ADD to donate to his classroom, to better help my son's peers understand why he acted "goofy" sometimes. This book is absolutely fabulous. I read it first, and I had to laugh. My son read it next and he laughed and laughed. He was delighted to see his own personal thoughts and feelings, expressed by another kid (Sparky), written about in a journal format. He was joyous!! He thought Sparky was awesome! He couldn't wait to bring it to school! I can promise you that your ADD child will be so happy to read this book, as will you. I even gained alot of knowledge and insight into my son's FEELINGS and thoughts! YOU NEED THIS BOOK!! You absolutely will not regret it!!

4-0 out of 5 stars A wonderful journey into ADD
"Sparky's Excellent Misadventures" is a wonderful little "journal" by Sparky, who takes us into his life at school and home as he copes with ADD. Sparky's misadventures acquaint us with those events which sometimes get him into trouble. After visiting the doctor, Sparky learns about ADD and discovers how the "little pills" help him to do better in school and control his behavior. This "journal" will help children and parents understand ADD from a child's point-of-view both before and after treatment. An easy-to-read, humorous approach to appreciating each child's unique qualities.

5-0 out of 5 stars Sparky Touches The Heart
Sparky's Excellent Adventures should be a required reading for all educators, parents and grade school children. It touched me emotionally more than any other children's book. It speaks to the pain and to the joy of living with ADD (attention deficit disorder). Sparky addresses the heart, and enlightens the mind, unlike any medical or professional description.

5-0 out of 5 stars Sparky's Excellent Misadventures
It's about time! This book is written for all the children with ADD - and for their parents too. Sparky is an endearing character, the book is good for a wide range of ages, and everyone will relate to Sparky's feelings and adventures. A must-read for anyone who knows an ADD child. You will enjoy! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Life in a Pond.
Using strong alliteration and assonance and colorful paintings, this book introduces children to the lively environment of a pond. Children are often surprised to discover that in the still waters of a pond everything from frogs, geese, dragonflys, swallows, turtles, heron, fish, bugs, and even a racoon live in and around the water. Fleming won a Caldecott Honor in 1994 for the lively illustrations in this book.

3-0 out of 5 stars Nice book
The story was great, the pictures were great. My toddler likes it alot. It's fun reading all the rhyming words to her and great for her short attention span. My only problem with it is that the book itself fell apart after about the third reading. I've had to tape half the pages back together.

4-0 out of 5 stars Life in a pond.
This short children's book about animal life in a small pond was a 1994 Caldecott Honor book (i.e., a runner-up to the Medal winner) for best illustrations in a children's book. It is a good introduction to the natural world for pre-schoolers.

5-0 out of 5 stars A dovetail of Movie, Book, and Imagination
Children, including mine, love the movie "The Lion King,"a movie about 'the circle of life' of lions on the Pridelands. Being very popular with children, they emulate, or like to think of themselves as Mufasa, or Nala, or Timone...and that includes my children. Now we have a book,"In the Small, Small, Pond" by Denise Fleming that takes a frog through 'the circle of life'. With simple and easy rhymes, children can explore this water world. My children, 3 and 2 years of age, as Mufasa and Nala, love to go, with Angie and daddy as leaders, down to the waterhole-a real scene in the Lion King movie-to see the frog, birds, fish, and friends. I highly recommend this book for its ability to hold the reader and the audience. ... Read more

Aptly named, The Everything Book is a hodgepodge of early learnerwords, numbers, poems, and concepts. But, without a doubt, the gorgeousillustrations are the real star of the show, created by Denise Fleming bypouring colored cotton fiber through hand-cut stencils. Readers and artappreciators of all ages will want to surround themselves with the delicious, ripe colors. Whether she's writing about traffic lights ("We all must obey them/ Even the Queen"), a robin's nest, or the colors of fruit, Fleming imbues hersubjects with vivid hues and exquisite shapes. Children will pore over theloosely organized book; the sparse structure allows readers to create their ownstories, lingering over Summer, for example (with "summer" as its only text), tocount the flies, spy the squirrel, and admire the pair of sunflowers.

Readers can practice the alphabet, count crocodile eggs and ladybugs, makefaces, learn about shapes, and play with kitchen "toys": cups, pans, spoons, bags. Towards the end of the book, the theme becomes nighttime-sleepytime, withverses about winking blinking fireflies and bunnies and chicks getting ready forbed. Children will love the big, color-drenched pictures and simple words.Grownups will want to frame the art and hang it all over their house. Fleming'sIn the Small, Small Pondwas a Caldecott Honor Book. 5-0 out of 5 stars Great book
It's very diverse and colorful. It has a fun little game in the back where you can go through the book looking on every page for little hidden lady bugs. Makes the book fun and versitile. Love the book.

5-0 out of 5 stars My 2 year old son loves this book!
He just turned 2, and he loves all the pages of this book. He loves the animals, and the kids faces, and to sing the ABCs on the ABC page! This is also a wonderful book to keep in the bathroom while potty training (LOL). It keeps him interested and in one place for a while, which is difficult to do with a 2 year old!
GREAT GREAT book for interested little kids!

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun! Fun! Fun!
I bought this for my son after reading the other reviews and everything they said was true. It has everything (ABC's, trains, cars, food, songs, seasons, counting, animals, body part recognition, etc.)! We have had it for over a year and it is still one of my almost two year old's favorite books. He loves the colors, pictures and has memorized just about every page. The poem at the beginning is the BEST and because of it, my son knew the difference between his right hand and left hand before he was a year old. Highly recommend for anybody ...

4-0 out of 5 stars fun on several levels
The variety of stories and the colors are very appealing. My kids also had a lot of fun playing the "spot the ladybug" game where you pick a page and try to find the little red bugs.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fascinating and beautiful
Me, I don't like this book all that much. My two-year-old, he ADORES it! Whenever he runs to get books to read, this is in the pile, and usually the first one. Though he has seen it many times, he still loves to go through the pages -- finding details we missed before, naming objects, imitating sounds.

The book begins with a rooster starting the day, followed by a hen and chicks waking up. From there you will see a baby eating with many objects (labelled) from a meal -- juice, toast, peas, egg, banana, spoon, milk, cereal. This is a typical page. To my mind not always very coherent, but colorful illustrations and lots to look at. Other pages include: Fruit Colors, Kitchen Toys, Shapes, the alphabet, counting, poems, seasons, animals, body parts, facial expressions .... basically, everything you can think of that a small child might be interested in. The book ends with the hen and chicks going to sleep.

I think there is a very good chance your child will love this book, too. ... Read more
