Book Description

A Supernatural Battle Is Now Raging for the Minds and Destinies of Our Children. This Is a Battle That Parents Can and Must Win.

Violence, psychic manipulation, witchcraft, murder, demons, wizards, magic, Satanism, and the occult are but a few of the featured attractions in the world of the ever-popular Pokemon phenomena and the celebrated Harry Potter series.

This eye-opening book is a stunning expose that penetrates the clever satanic camouflage which attempts to conceal the true diabolic nature of today's most popular children's literature and games.

Backed by the authority of the Word of God and his almost three decades in the ministry, Phil Arms provides an electrifying analysis of the most commerically successful children's entertainment of the last century. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Oh man, this is pathetic.
Okay, I'd like to say that I'm a Christian and I have never liked Pokemon, but after reading this book it makes me seriously think of changing both. An interesting fact is, neither Harry Potter nor Pokemon are American (although they are both very popular in America), and he states that they are bad for the Youth of AMERICA, and not any other place in the world. I am apalled by the statements made by the reviewers who agreed with this guy, and find this book a work of stupidity and jealosy (maybe he tried to write some books and none were created or did not become very popular?) I have not read this book but plan to look for it, out of complete curiosity.

1-0 out of 5 stars does Christianity a disservice
This sort of thinking makes Christianity look plain silly. It presents an image of Christians as close-minded simpletons, easily lead by fear. And make no mistake, Arms is out to spread fear - it's remarkably easy to control people who are afraid.

As a Christian I am insulted that the very serious subject of good vs. evil is trivialized by comparison to a harmless series of books. The only crime J.K. Rowling is guilty of is getting kids' noses away from the T.V. and into books. As for Pokemon, referring to a cartoon as the work of Satan is simply moronic.

1-0 out of 5 stars The Stupidity...
Every day I become more and more shocked with the stupidity of the people in our society today. As a Christian, I try to lead a God-like life, as it says in the Bible, but it's kind of hard right now. This Phil Arms gives Christians everywhere a bad name. As Robert Fernandez said, every episode of Pokémon has a an important theme for children to learn: friendship, values, etc. Check out the first movie if you don't believe me; it deals with segregation and its own form of racism. As for Harry Potter: these books are FANTASY. Look them up on this website, they're under FANTASY. If, as an adult, you are so stupid as to think FANTASY is REAL-LIFE, you need to go back to kindergarten. I don't remember anyone bringing out this Christian controversy when Lord of the Rings came out. Oh no! Our children may think that Hobbits and Elves exist! AAAHHHH! Please. Anyone dissing this stuff obviously has no lives of their own, and needs to check their religious status. I'm not proud to be associated with close-minded [people] such as this.

1-0 out of 5 stars If you bought this book, throw it away.
I did not buy this book(thank God), but for those of you who did, throw it away. I am a Christian and even though I am a Christian I enjoy Pokemon and Harry Potter a lot. All this book is going to do is tell parents that Pokemon and Harry Potter is evil, which it is not. I am tired of people saying these two things are evil and things of the Devil. These two things are only to build a childs imagination. I am 15 years old and I enjoy Pokemon and Harry Potter a lot. And to the author of this book, I know you are entitled to your own opinion but I do not believe a word of it. Again, if you bought this book, throw it away.

1-0 out of 5 stars A laughable piece of literature lies before us!
Alright, before I start saying anything, let me explain that I'm a Christian and enjoy Pokemon very much. Since most of the good people here have already made some very good explanations of why Pokemon clearly is NOT "evil" or "demonic" or a "tool of Satan", I'd like to add an interesting statement: Do you REALLY think that Nintendo created Pokemon just to transform the youth of the world into devil-worshippers? C'mon, this is the same company that made the Super Mario games! Anyway, what I'm getting at is this; parents, don't let others(Like this wacko who wrote this tripe.) make decisions for you. Watch at least an episode of Pokemon (Like maybe the first episode) and you'll see that the show promotes friendship and teamwork and caring for others. And let the children of this world be free to build their imaginations; there's nothing wrong with that. (And I wonder why the guy who wrote this book only mentions "the children of America". What about the rest of the children, hmmm?)
In short, if you want to make your own decisions, you should refrain from buying books that don't want you to. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Very cute
In my opinion, this book isn't for Pokemon fans who want to catch more Pokemon. It's more of a little kid's book. A lot of Pokemon are living together in the forest, when Clefairy loses it's voice. This is bad, because it's Clefairy's job to wake all the other Pokemon up in the morning. The elder tells the Pokemon that someone has stolen Clefairy's voice, so Clefairy's friends go on a search to find it. They look all over the forest for it, but it turns out a little girl found Clefairy's voice, trapped in a bottle. The little gives it to a Ponyta and Clefairy gets it's voice back. I think this is a good book because it teaches two lessons. One, it teaches kids not to give up. Two, it teaches kids that sometimes you need help from others to get a job done. All in all, I think this would be a very good book for kids. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Why get the American game??
I imported a Pokemon Gold as fast as I could since there was no way I was going to survive until the end of October just to be able to read when this book does it for you. It explains all the menus, decision points in the game, and battle scenes. That's just about all you need to read in this game anyway. This book totally walks you through the game just like all other books, but I got a little bit too dependant on the book. It's really hard to navigate an RPG like Pokemon in Japanese, and I got lost frequently without the book by my side. It also doesn't tell any real American names for all of these new Pokemon. But either way, for any Pokemon Gold/Silver importers, this is a must to fully enjoy the game- at least until the American Pokemon Gold/Silver comes out.

5-0 out of 5 stars How exciting!
This is a great book. It's a bit annoyig but excellent anyway. I enterednew game and erased my Houou to play it according to this guide. Ire-statrted it a day ago and I have 4 badges!!! THIS IS A GREATBOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good Book
Hi!

This book is good in most aspects. It does not cover the locations of Pokemon and the Annon puzzles, however. It has helped me through the whole game! If you would like to play the game now, buy this book! It eventranslates the manual. The breeding section is small, though. By the way,if you need the locations of pokemon such as Lugia or Houou, e-mail me atyoannjenny@msn.com and I'll be glad to help! The book is really good, overall.

4-0 out of 5 stars Silver and Gold
This book is VERY good. The cover is awesome and the pictures and info will hold your interests. I do, though, have a caution. If you want to buy this book to help you translate the game, I would suggest you don't. TheAT(Kabuto) Puzzle has not been figured out and the some of the info is abit off and not very specific. It would be better if you just waited forthe American release so you can fully understand and read the game and textinstead of having too look over at the guide every two minutes. In otherwords, I'm saying if you don't completely know and understand the Japaneselanguage, don't play the Japanese version of Silver and/or Gold and I sayyou shouldn't get this book to help translate the game. BUT, but, but, but, but, but,IF you want to buy thid book to learn more about Silver and/orGold and/or the new Pokémon and/or the items and/or the gameplay, THEN I'dsay stop reading this review and GO FOR IT!

5-0 out of 5 stars Pokémon has hit a New era!
I'm a memebr of the UPN (Universal Pokemon Network), and I just purchased this book am I am really Pleased!

I know little Japanese, and this book really helped me out.I imported Pokemon G/S last November and have had areally hard time understanding all the situations, but this book is a greathelp! I can help my friends out when they can't figure out a puzzle, catcha specific Pokemon (i.e Serebii) or battle with the new moves and Pokemon!

It's really unforunate that I saw a few errors, but nothings perfectright? Thanks to this book, I now have all 251 Pokemon, all 16 badges, andso amny other items, tricks and varies other things.

5-0 out of 5 stars What?! $10 and nothing on AAML?!
I bought this book and read through it, and noticed a couple of errors. For one thing, Misty is NOT after Ash because of her (busted) bike. EVERYBODY knows why she's following Ash - she's in love with him! I'll bet even Cranky Kong knows!

And gimmie a break. Brock DID leave the show, but not forever. He came back to the show in "A Tent Situation".

How come, on the back cover, it says it has information on "Team Rocket & the Bad Guys"? Team Rocket IS the bad guys, so how can they be listing "Team Rocket & the Bad Guys" when the only other bad guy we know is Gary the Big Loser?

I'd hardly call this "For Serious Fans Only" if it doesn't mention the fact that Misty loves Ash and vice-versa. There's no reference of Rocketshippy or Neoshippy either! C'mon, Ash and Misty ARE in love, because otherwise, there'd be no point for their romance in the hentai doujinshi. Oops, I've said too much already.

Note to AAML fans: For those of you who want to get an official picture of Ash and Misty sharing a romantic kiss, go to http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1134703750

4-0 out of 5 stars Very informative
If it's details about each individual Orange Island you want, this book is great. It has a map of the Orange Islands, trivia about most Pokemon and the characters, a chapter on life lessons kids can get from Pokemon, and lots more. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the way this book constantly insults my favorite characters, Team Rocket. It's always saying their plans are dumb, they're stupid, lame, etc. I resent that. But at least they give alot of info about them. They even have a great deal about Cassidy and Butch, who are-unfortunately-often ignored. So even if you're a huge Team Rocket fan, I still recommend this book. It focuses on the show and not the cards or games, but if you're into the show, it's got a lot you'd like to know. ... Read more
