4-0 out of 5 stars I would give it five if it weren't for one thing....
The fact that this guide is in Black and White makes some of the screenshots unclear and foggy like. Other than that the walkthrough is very detailed and the book fits just about anywhere. But if your looking for a guide with good detail go to Prima, or if your looking for a guide that goes beyond Strategy get the VERSUS BOOKS guide. But this has a very detailed walkthrough, just that the screenshots are fuzzy by the black and white.

5-0 out of 5 stars COOL DUDE!
This book is very helpful to help you with the crystal version. It is really neat too. It helps me figure out what do. I love it!

4-0 out of 5 stars A moderately good Guide
Alright, this guide was worth the extra money I had to pay to get it with the "Pokemon Crystal" game. It did tell me some things I never new before, like how, depending on the pokemon you fight, your Pokemon's stats are effected. For example, if you fight a fast pokemon, it will give your pokemon's speed stat a workout. It will work as a guide for all three games. (Gold, Silver, Crystal) When there is a difference from gold or silver, it points it out in a conveinient little box. One thing you should be aware about, on the back cover, it does NOT say the stuff the person said in the editorial review. Here's what it really says (The guide is right in front of me): Be prepared to meet the new characters, solve the new puzzles, and face the new challenges added to the worlds of gold and silver! Wheather this is your first trip to Johto or you're a seasoned master, this essential guide reveals all the new features in pokemon crystal! -THREE GUIDES IN ONE! Step-by-step walkthrough takes you from start to finish in pokemon gold, silver, and Crystal! -COMPLETE COVERAGE! Solutions to Pokemon Crystal's new puzzles, rosters for every new trainer, how to capture Suicune, and MORE! -EXPERT TACTICS! Defeat every trainer and gym leader, earn all 16 badges! -PLUS - Combat and breeding tips, super-useful quick reference tables, and MUCH MORE!

That is EXACTLY what it says. No detailed info on pokemon stats. It does NOT tell you where to find pokemon. ... It does have a combat chart, complete move list, and complete item list. Overall, a decent 160-page guide. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars pokemon stadium 2 Official Nintendo Player's Guide
ok, i have to vent somewhere. this is a review for the "official nintendo player's guide," not "prima's official guide," which this is supposed to be a review for. since it's out of print, i can't review it directly, but it is for sale in the z-shops area, or whatever it's called. anyway, these 2 books have the exact same picture on the cover, just different title/text. who knows about the interior. but the one i'm talking about is pure garbage. half the team combos they suggest are bad match-ups. thye could be good, but it's a 50-50 coin toss over half the time. the only reliable part is the classroom competition recommendations. about 1/2 the rest is REALLY bad. a decent player could have written a better book. the writers should be lynched, and i really hope they read this. i would give it 2 stars, because the classroom strategies work, but that should be a given...the bare minimum to even be considered for a rating. so i give it more than it deserves...a 1. please don't waste your time with this book, unless you're looking for a quick route to the crazy farm. if you're serious about using the book for its intended purpose, this horrid book will drive you insane!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Destroys the Meaning!
I have to start out by saying that I am not impressed. Basically, a lot of this book just repeates stuff that the game already tells you. Other than that, it tells you specifically what Pokemon to use! The whole point of being a "Pokemon trainer" is to assemble teams that suit you, not the game! If all you care about is beating the game, then this is very helpful (which is why I rated it three stars). But if you enjoy trying out different teams or beating the game with your just your favorite Pokemon, then this is not for you. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Really good!
Unlike the corny tv show, this comic is not only awesome, but more realistic.(In some ways.) I reccomend it to all who enjoy the pokemon franchise.

5-0 out of 5 stars POKEMON POKEMON POKEMON
In vol.2 of Pokemon Adventures the first thing that happens is red meats a girl named Green who is a tricky thief. She might be a liar and a thief but she is not a bad person. Then red hears Team Rocket talking about her so he spies on them. After that his and Blues pokeballs got mixed up. If this sounds exciting to you I sugest you get this book to find out more.

4-0 out of 5 stars Just as great as the first one
This is the second book in the Pokemon Adventures comic series. Actually, let me correct myself, the second 208 page book (they released the books smaller at first). This book has great sections, including the Safari Zone. In this book Red also meets up with a tricky girl named Green. The Pokemon Adventures series is based on the gameboy games. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Buyer beware
I purchased this book through one of Amazon's distributors and paid $9.98. Unfortunatly the book arrived today and it is very thin and the price listed on the back of the book is only $3.95. This is a major scam!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Great Great!
I love this book. The activities are fun and it's a good way to spend extra time or spend time doing the activities on rainy days. Its definetly not a waste of money because it's so fun! I wish there were more books like this. And it's not just for little kids, it's for all ages. I hope you buy it because it's a great product. Thanx for reading and enjoy the fun.

4-0 out of 5 stars My daughter loved it!
For a younger child who is wild about Pokémon, this book is fun and confidence boosting. My daughter was able to read and figure out the puzzles by herself, with very little assistance, and she had fun doing it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Pokemon for everybody! Catch 'Em All
As the father of an 8 year old who likes Pokemon but isn't obsessed by it, I thought this book was great. The activities were a fun way to learn about all the characters. If your child likes puzzles and games this is the only Pokemon book I've found with lots of worthwhile word and math puzzles. The price makes it a great stocking stuffer!

5-0 out of 5 stars Elementary but enjoyable
Maybe this is worth the low price just to look at the Bulbas and the other pictures. This book is all so simple; all the activities are pre-school level or younger. But still (maybe just 'cause of my low mental age) I found it all enjoyable. Get this one and the "How To Draw Pokemon" for you and your big and small kids. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars best comic books around
This sereis rocks. It is comical and adventures, it makes you not won't to put it down. This comic book in a series of many comic books is about red, a pokemon trainer who is traveling around on a quest to catch every pokemon and collect gym badges. He travels to lavender town where everybody is suspecious of everybody else because of the ghousts in the pokemon tower. when red find's out his rival ,blue, whent into the tower and has not come out in two weeks he runs to the tower because he cant turn down a challenge his rival took. in the tower he has to fight pokemon zombies and a possesed blue. After that he meets a girl nammed green who ripes him off and bulbasuar evolves.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best manga around!
Pokemon Adventures is almost as good as Toshihiro Ono's manga, if not better in some parts.

This part is when Red (in Anime terms, Ash) reaches Lavender town.

It is so funny in the tower, and Blue is no different to Shigerou!

I reccomend this to anyone!

4-0 out of 5 stars Unexpected treasure
I wasn't expecting to like this series, especially as it is so close to both the television show AND the game, but this book made me laugh! I love it. I plan on buying as many Pokemon adventures as I can afford and the gang at Viz comics can put out.

The book has Red visiting Lavender Town and a Pokemon gravesite. Learning that his rival, Blue, was last seen headed for the haunted tower, Red rushes off after him only to find himself battling ghosts and zombie pokemon, controlled by the evil Team Rocket. Not only that, but both Blue and his powerful Charmelean are possessed as well!

Red must keep his wits about him as he tries to discover a way of saving Blue and defeating the evil in the tower.

And after all that, Red meets a girl... ... Read more

Zen masters never said, "You must learn as much as you canabout your Pokémon," but Professor Oak certainly did. The grand teacher ofPokémon introduces this handy book about the Japanese craze that took overAmerica in the form of a video game, trading cards, and a popular TV show. The handbook--written as if the young reader were a Pokémon trainerlike Ash, Misty, and Brock--teaches kids which cards are the best to win a gameand illuminates the stories behind the TV show. Geared to young readers, this engaging, colorful book is not for the Pokémon expert who hascopious spreadsheets of statistics. You'll find fun facts about eachPokémon (Charmander is two feet tall and its element is fire, in case youdidn't know), a clear guide to the evolution of certain characters, and ahelpful pronunciation guide (great for parents). The book could have used a pictorial index of all 150 characters, but that won't stop fans from wearing out this handbook during their adventures as a Pokémontrainer. --Doug Thomas ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars This is an awesome Pokemon book!
This book gives a lot of information about all 150 Pokemon. It also tells you how to pronounce the creature's name. If you have Pokemon Red, Blue, or Yellow for Game Boy, this is a must!

2-0 out of 5 stars Not enough Information.
This book doesn't have enough information and is incomplete. It is missing over 100 Pokemon-- That's a lot of Pokemon missing! Even the other revised "Official Pokemon Handbook" is missing 99 of the Pokemon -- not much of a difference! I recommend just going to a whole other series that has a COMPLETE list of all 251 pokemon. Also, this book has NO information on the gold and silver versions! I like Pokemon and have a Pokemon Silver and think there should be a new version of the book (if this series is going to do something), but that probably won't happen because the Pokemon craze has basically ended. I went to another book that had a list of all 251 Pokemon and now I have 245 of the 251 Pokemon in the Silver version for Gameboy Color. The book has nice pictures of the original Pokemon, but it's nothing with out the additional 100 Pokemon.

5-0 out of 5 stars a really great book
well at first my mom did'nt have any way for me to read but then I went to my friend aaron and serinas house and I liked it so I asked them politley if I could have it and they kindly said back "yes" so like a year later every night I would sit down before bed and read untill I got to tired to read anymore.my mom and dad were so proud of me that sometimes I would read some pages to them to dad said "wonderful" mom said "great" so from then on I read so much that my pokemon knowledge went up to like 100'000'000'000' and even more than that.note:I like to call serina sabrina thats how much of a pokemon fan I am.gotta catch em' all.

4-0 out of 5 stars Better than most.
When I ordered this book I was really exited, It's helpful but only when you have Yellow, red, or blue versions not helpful with the more modern vesions because they don't have a whole 100 of the more modern pokemon. All you Pokefans out there, only get this book if you have yellow, red, or blue versions.

4-0 out of 5 stars The greatest book with a few disipointments
I liked this book, but I was disipointed that it only had the pokemon from the Yellow, Red, and Blue versions. Because I have the Crystal version as well as the Yellow version. I liked it though, because now I'm prepared for the moves my pokemon will learn and which moved to deleat. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars My Review of This Really Helpful Book
This book is a really helpful book. You should buy it! It really helped me build a winning deck. I win every time I play Pokemon cards. I have built an exceptionally strong fighting-psychic deck. Plus I can make good trades because there is a price guide. So now, I won't get gyped (its about time!)

5-0 out of 5 stars If you''re a Pokemon trainer : READ THIS BOOK!
This book not only gives you helpful advice on building a deck , it gives individual strategy on each card in the Base Set and Jungle sets . ( If it were a little more updated , it would be a must-have)DON'T WAIT! GET IT NOW!

5-0 out of 5 stars It is the best and its very helpful
This book is great because I belong to the Pokemon Trading Card Game League and it gave me tips on how to improve my deck and to improve my skill in dueling Pokemon Cards. This book also said... wait I can't tell you what else it said because then I would be ruining for other people so I will say nothing else then to buy this book for yourself and read its good tips

4-0 out of 5 stars Great book for newbie players and advanced players alike.
I got this book for Christmas because my decks really blew andI wanted a handy spoiler list. This book has just an awesome deckbuilding section! It goes through every component of building a dreamdeck. The spoilers have a graphic for every card, and you can clearly read the card text. It also has a few archetypes, such as Haymaker, Rain Dance, etc. The biggest bonus was the Pokemon Snap guide, it helped me beat it! I would've liked maybe a few more archetypes and maybe card ratings, but hey, it's still a great book!

4-0 out of 5 stars The book that changed my game forever.
If you play Pokemon, like Pokemon, and most especially, if you want to be good at Pokemon, this IS the book for you.

No book on Pokemon better covers the strategies and details the techniques needed to win the Pokemon TCG (Trading Card Game) better than this one. Author Brian Brokaw offers highly useful insight into every aspect of the game, from Synergy to disruption techniques, plus three tournament-winning deck designs you can look at to see what a winning deck should be! I cannot tell you how much this book will change your game for the better. I read this book for the first time about four months ago and since then I have won six local Pokemon tournaments. You'll be amazed at what perspective somebody else can offer.

Does every card in your deck help you win the game? It can, and Mr. Brokaw will be happy to show you how.

While this book mainly covers the Pokemon TCG, there are other sections on merchandise, Pokemon Snap for N64, Japanese Pokemon games, Mall Tours and more, including a section on the individual Pokemon and trainer cards, along with strategy tips and helpful rules clarifications for each one (a VERY helpful section, especially for the beginning player).

The verdict: whether you are a beginning player with 10 cards to your name or a multi-talented master of the Pokemon world, this book is bound to help you to see new ways to improve your decks and your game like you never thought possible. ... Read more

An international collaboration between one of the original Japanese Pokemon creators and a veteran American comic book writer, the Pokemon comic strip follows a completely original storyline with more humor than the animated series or games. The happy result is a link between young Pokemon fans and adults interested in one of America’s largest media phenomena. This collection includes both the daily black-and-white strips and full-color Sunday comics and follows the adventures of Ash, Misty, and their friends, at home and on the road, in their quest to become Pokemon trainers. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Pokemon - The Comic Strip!
I wasn't able to see the original run of the Pokemon comic strip (Stoopid Shreveport Times), but thankfully, they gathered the entire run into this book. As a semi-professional cartoonist, I can say this was a pretty good strip. Not in the ranks with Calvin and Hobbes and Peanuts, mind you, but it's still a lot better than a lot of the comic strips in the newspaper today.
As for the strip itself, if you're expecting a strip version of the hit TV show, you'll be mistaken. It's kind of an alternate version of Pokemon. Instead of going out earning badges and getting into tussles with Team Rocket, Ash, Brock, Misty and Gary all go to junior high school, along with their Pokemon, which almost always cause mischeif. Ash's mom has a much bigger role in the comic since Ash is home now, and she's usually shown going slowly crazy from all of Ash's Pokemon wrecking her house. The art is kind of sketchy in places, as you get the sense some of the strips were rushed, but most of the time the art is pretty consistant and has it's own style from the cartoon and comic books and gives it an "American" sense of design.
Sometimes the strip doesn't make sense. In the beginning, Ash has a Metapod, then it evolves into a Butterfree, but later on, a few months later, he comes across another Metapod and catches it, claiming he's never seen one before. But the comic improves as it goes along, and it's a shame it ended when it did, since it was getting a lot better. Ash and Misty's exploits in the comic are pretty funny, especially the running gag where Misty attacks Ash with Starmie, but even funnier are when the Pokemon are by themselves and we can read their thoughts. Who knew Psyduck had such a deep train of thought?
Overall, this was a pretty good comic, and it was too bad it barely lasted a year. Pokemon fans, especially older ones, owe it to themselves to check out "Pikachu Meets The Press" if they haven't already. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Book
This is my four year old nephew's favorite book.He enjoys the A to Z listing all of the Pokemon and trying to find the characters in the book (Where's Waldo style). The A to Z listing of the Pokemon has been helpful in his learning to spell and sound out words and searching for the characters helps him to observe pictures and look at things carefully.

5-0 out of 5 stars Minnesota school bus driver loves it!!
I picked this book up last year hopeing that maybe one or two of the younger kids on my p.m. route would look at it for a few minutes. (p.m. route is wild beyond control!)--I was amazed at the attention it got.Kids sat hypnotized by it. Yes,, they found them all; but that didn't seem to matter. They passed it from one to another, and even the older kids took the time to look and talk to the younger. This year they asked me to bring it again. I know the Pokemon craze is slowing quite a bit, but believe me, any book that can quiet a bus for even a short time is great in my opinion. I'm buying #2 & #3 Find Pokemon NOW.

5-0 out of 5 stars Let's see pokemon! 3 is the best book ever.
"Let's Find pokemon! 3" has alot of great and new pokemon in it. I am a young person of 13 and would like all pokemon fans to know that Kazunori has done it again! If you like pokemon, then you will like to find your favorites in this wonderful book as well as some not yet seen. It is a must for all pokemon trainers like myself. I think the book is the best yet and hope that you will find it a great addition to your collection! I give the book an A+ for all the work Kazunori has done to expand the pokemon legend! I hope he makes more of the pokemon series books like this one which I will be sure to buy! This author is a real genius of imagination which will not disappoint the pokemon fan.

3-0 out of 5 stars Far too easy even for the youngest kids.
I bought this book counting on the "Where's Waldo" style and difficulty. However, it falls somewhat short. The artist and/or publisher neglected the fact that kids have a lot of time on their hands. Especially when my wife and I want a few hours of peace and quiet. I'm not sure what the author/artist was aiming for really.

Sorry Nintendo, more market research would have been a plus. This book only lasts one nap, maybe two. Each session of the book gets shorter and shorter and the main appeal is the Pokémon characters. Nintendo is falling into the old rut of, "What can we market with Pokémon characters?" Instead of, "What should we market with Pokémon characters?"

5-0 out of 5 stars Pokemon for pre-readers
My son just turned five and can not read, but he loves Pokemon. This book is a Where is Waldo type book and can be used by non-readers. On each page you have to find Pokemon while going through a maze. This book is more ofa game then a reading book.I highly recommend this book for pre-readerPokemon lovers to get them interested in looking at books on their own. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Charizard
It's a fairly straight up retelling of the first season. The best part of the book has to be the Peekaboo Pikachu. Even though the contest ended in 2000, it's still fun too find Pikachu hiding in the illustrations.

5-0 out of 5 stars CHARIZARD!!
In this book when ash sends out his charizard he starts thinking about everything that ever happened that envolves his charizard.
This book is a great book for kids.

4-0 out of 5 stars Charizard is HOT!
Tracy West has outdone herself this time. Flashback from whenAsh raised Charmander from a stray was touching. Charizard, unlikeCharmander did not listen to Ash. Can Ash defeat Richie with the disobedient Charizard? It all comes down to being a real trainer for Pokemon.

4-0 out of 5 stars Ty's Review (Charizard, Go!)
I think this book was cool. I think this book is cool because it has a lot of action, excitement, and adventure. My favorite characters in the book were Ash, Pikachu, Charizard and Richie. The best part of the book is when Ash got chased by Prehistoric Pokemon. He tried to use Charmeleon but all he did was laid down and took a nap. This book was not as good as all of the books, but better than #4.

4-0 out of 5 stars Could be Better
This 6th installment in the chapter book series could have been better. It only describes 1 moment in Ash's adventure: his 5th round battle in the Pokemon League. Ash is thinking about using his Charizard against Richie's Charmander and then he remembers what happened with that stray Charmander he caught on the way to Vermilion City. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Dratini
This book is a must for the holidays.
I rate this book 101 out of 10.
This is a book for all POKEMON fans.
It is about a ballon race and the winner of the race will win a Dratini.

5-0 out of 5 stars Pokemon Race to Danger
In this book, Ash, Misty and Brock have another exciting adventure. They get to fly in a hot air balloon race and use their pokemon to try to win the race. As ususal, Team Rocket is up to their old tricks. The book was great from the beginning to the end. I think anyone who loves Pokemon will love this book.

4-0 out of 5 stars Up, Up and Away!
The Poke'mon hot air balloon race is on. And the prize is a rare Dratini. Windy could have won- but Team Rocket took the wind out of her sails.

Can Ash and his Poke'mon help Windy blow off the competiton? Between hail storms, Beedrill swarms, Koffing's Smoke Screen, and Arbok's balloon tearing fangs, the odds are against them.

It's going to take a lot of Poke'power to win this race- but Ash won't let Team Rocket burst anyones bubble.

5-0 out of 5 stars Exellent
This is one of the best paperbacks that is made and is good for all ages to read. I highly recommend bying this item for your own sake. Trust me you and your kids will love it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars These are brilliantly done
Pokemon Adventures is probably the best vision of the concept that's sponsored by Nintendo. For the record, I recommend buying these in the graphic novel format.

This is a great series. It's a more mature story that isn't exclusively aimed at kids like the cartoon or the other comic. There are elements in these stories that will appeal to all ages. Red and Blue, instead of being a couple of abrasive children, are more like rivals should be -- with a healthy respect for one another. They work together, even help each other along at times when they know there's more at stake than their own pride.

The story takes some turns that are far darker than anything the show would ever touch, and most of the characters from the show who appear here are, such as the Gym Leaders, are, instead of silly characitures of how people behave, real characters with a passion for what they do. Misty and Brock, incidentally, kick ass. Both Red and Blue are serious about what they do, and there's a clear reason that they win as many fights as they do, not just the "Ash is the main character, so of course he wins" mentality the show has.

Even better, as the series progresses, there is real character growth. Over the course of the story, Red goes from being a Pokemon lover with a heart of gold to a brilliant tactician who can use his Pokemon's abilities in ways nobody can imagine.

I recommend this for anyone with a passion for good storytelling, anyone who has played the game, and anybody who thinks the Pokemon concept is interesting, regardless of whether you like the cartoon. This is the best handling of the material you will find.

5-0 out of 5 stars A little bit different, but still excellent!
The Pokemon Adventures series is a little bit different than the original, but still is excellent. A new character (Instead of Ash) is in the book. The storyline is very good and would definitely recommend to a colleague. An overall 5 stars. Definitely worth getting!

5-0 out of 5 stars 151
This is a very nicely done book. It's not like the original Pokémon adventure. This one follows more closely to the Red and American Blue game. Instead of Ash and Gary, Ash is called Red and Gary is called Blue. There is also a girl named Green but she comes in a later book. There is also no Jessie and James, only the Team Rocket members you see in the game. Red is also a more mature and advanced trainer than Ash and Blue is wiser than Gary. Aside all this, there are only some other slight changes and basically has the same goal as the original story and is a great book.

5-0 out of 5 stars It's a hi fly Mew on second base
Pokemon is the best book I ever read in my how entire life! Because I like the creatures.

4-0 out of 5 stars Pokemon adventures
I liked this book. I liked the parts when Red cared for Bulbusaur and Kangkaskan and when the wild Machoke surprised them. Actually that's pretty weird, I mean, a Machoke in Viridian city? And on page 23 I saw a statue of Giovanni, the gym leader. I think this book should be colored. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Based more on the game than the anime...
In this issue of Pokemon Adventures, Red arrives in Pewter City, only to find a Pikachu who's stirring up quite a bit of trouble. Luckily, by using his Bulbasaur, Red captures the Pikachu. Soonafter he runs into Gary, who challenges him to a contest to see who can defeat Brock, the Pewter City Gym Leader, first. And we also get to see the first appearance of everyone's favorite(or hated, your choice) feisty red-head, Misty! Red comes to the rescue as Misty is being attacked by an out-of-control Gyarados, and soon they band together on their journey. The Pokemon Adventures manga is based heavily on the Pokemon RPG videogame, so there's alot of similarities here. You should buy this if you're a fan of the game, or Pokemon in general.

5-0 out of 5 stars Reader from America
This book is great!red walks into pewter city and sees a wanted sign of Pikachu, who is messing up there town. So then Red decides to help and trys capturing the wanted Pikachu....... Then Gary comes and Challenges Ash the Challenge is Who will get the Boulder badge from Brock....... Then trys to help misty with her Gyardos... That's all i'm going to write.

4-0 out of 5 stars Better than the usual Pokemon written material
This book is definately another series, with a different set of Pokemon for Ash (though Pikachu behaves in the familiar method from the cartoon, shocking everything in sight). This book covers Ash's attempts to gain the boulder badge and collect more Pokemon. It's fairly well-written, with good artwork, and a great story line with the Pokemon reacting and being as interesting as the characters, and I don't just mean Pikachu. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars The plot has a few weaknesses.
So the bad guys set a trap for the good guys. But why do they expect the good guys to come that way? This is never explained.

After the bad guys are scared away, Pikachu uses his powers to get the victim out of the trap. But why does it take him so long to think of that? This is never explained, either.

Moreover, I cannot understand why the book is not better illustrated.Instead of illustrations which relate directly with the story, we are to be satisfied with already existing pictures of Pokemon characters.

5-0 out of 5 stars Terrific for beginning readers who love Pokemon
This book, and the others in the Pokemon Junior series, are great early readers for the simple reason that kids love Pokemon. The text is easy enough for my almost-in-first-grade son to read most of the words byhimself, and the subject matter is (for him at least) much more interestingthan the bear and bunny stuff that's in a lot of easy readers. At thisstage, whatever motivates a kid to read is worth buying. I have bought allof the Pokemon Junior series books that I've seen so far, and my son hasread them all several times. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Trouble on board..
This Pokemon manga, called Pokemon Adventures, is drawn out more like the Pokemon RPG videogame. In this issue, the Pokemon Fan Club sends Red on a mission to free some Pokemon from a ship called the S.S. Anne. Unfortunately for Red, the person responsible for all this is actually Lt. Surge, the Gym Leader of Vermillion City. Getting past his Electabuzz won't be so easy. Also, Red enters a race, which leads him into many comical hijinks, including a run-in with Snorlax, one of the largest Pokemon that ever existed. If you liked the Pokemon game, or liked the anime but didn't like Ash, you should get this manga, especially since it's at such a [good] price.
