5-0 out of 5 stars Very Cool Series
Isn't it amazing how a so-called children's series has adults raving about it? I do feel sorry for those that pass over these Jedi Quest books because they feel they are for younger readers. Little do they know. The one relationship in the whole Star Wars univers that has fascinated me the most is the one between Obi-Wan and Anakin. We all know what it's destined for and that makes it a very heartbreaking journey to go through with them. But these books make you almost wish that there's some magical way that Obi-Wan and Anakin will work through their feelings. Shadow Trap shows us Anakin and Obi-Wan at one of those moments in their realationship where they're feeling apart. Well, Anakin is anyways. The great thing about this book is that we see it from both of their sides, we see inside both of their minds, their feelings on the matter. If Anakin could only see that while his Master may be disappointed in an act that he commited previously, he's not cast him off to the wayside, he is simply giving him time to try to deal with it. But of course, they are thrust into a mission with this tension between them and must try to find a way to deal with it and succsesfully complete their task.

This great little story is full of suprises and I think to say too much about it would give too much away. Suffice it to say that both Masters Yaddle and Yoda play a big part in it all. But the big question is, will the end of the story lead to Anakin and Obi-Wan closing that rift between them, or will the circumstances cause that rift to widen?

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Book
This is a great book. Dont judge the book on how many pages it has. Even though it is short, you will not be disapointed on buying it. im not goin 2 write anything that happens in it cause it would ruin the major thing that happens in the book. Buy the book and read it.

Also read the jedi apprentice books, boba fett books, legacy of the Jedi, and for the advanced star wars reader, The New jedi Order books. Other than the thrawn books, they are the best star wars books that take place after episode 6

4-0 out of 5 stars Short but Sweet
This is the sixth book in Jude Watson's great series "Jedi Quest". At only 125 pages it is also the shortest. A lot of surprises are in this book and some cool characters as well. Without giving too much away, Yoda, Yaddle and even Granta Omega play pivotal roles in this story. My only complaint is that it was way too short. Make sure you read the first five "Quest" books before you pick this one up. if you want a good quick read this is for you!

5-0 out of 5 stars Revelations
Whoa! This book was excellent. You find out some amazing stuff that I didn`t see coming. The plot is excellent with twists and turns. Some predictable, some aren`t. Get this book and the ones before it. Also try out the Jedi Apprentice series.

5-0 out of 5 stars A twist and a great book!!
this is one of the best of the series. in the begin is pretty prediable what is going to happen, or so i thought. yet, Jude do it again. new twists and turns and unxepected suprises happens. first of all, this books shows the dark side of anakin and the falling apart relantionship between obi-wan and anakin. they also meet up w/ their worst enemy and finds out more than they can chew. i'm not gonna tell any more, i don't want to ruin the suprise, but i do highly recommonded everyone to read it, its great. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent continuation of the Quinlan Vos storyline
This Comic combines issues 36 through 39 and losely picks up where the TPB DARKNESS leaves off. Given that the story mostly involves events that take place before the battle of Naboo I would put it at -32.05 BNH.

The story opens with Quinlan and his padawan Aayla Secura finally at the Jedi Temple for memory recovery. Windu begins telling the story of Iaco Stark and the hyperspace war that involved Bacta and Thyferra. The SHW takes place just before EP1.

The story is by Ostrander, one of my favorites and rates 4.5.

The overall comic design is a throwback to the old style comic strip stuff I thought we were past.

Design gets 3 stars. In fact, the poor design decision may be the cause for my partial dislike of the pencil and ink work. The pencil work is uneven with the main flaw being the poorly drawn rendition of Obi-Wan. The inking by Vecchia is 4.5 stars and could have been a 5 had the design been more like Darkness or the new TPB Clone Wars volume 2. Duursema's cover art is 5 stars.

The art of Foster is 2 stars.

Overall, this is a solid 4 star comic and highly recommended. It is a valuable addition to brilliantly conceived PRE-QUEL era work being done by Darkhorse and Lucas et al. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars It's Fun To Do, It's The Healthy Way.
The title of this book, has a completed match with the Wiggles song, "(Fruit Salad)" because The Wiggles take turns telling each of the 4 steps in order. What I also love about (Yummy, Yummy Fruit Salad) is that you can learn to make your own fruit salad from The Wiggles directions by singing that song, then you'll have yummy fruit salad too-just like Greg, Anthony, Jeff and Murray. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars A Valiant Effort
While the first two Alias books were fun, exciting, and action packed, this one is a drag. Sydney goes to a "spooky" castle to discuss the problems of a fictional European country with several organized crime figures. Sydney doesn't do much when they start being bumped off one-by-one. The story isn't very original and there isn't much action to this book. I am sorry to say it is a disappointing addition to the series.

4-0 out of 5 stars Solid writing w/ a great twist ending
The Alias prequel series started out okay with mostly character development in RECRUITED, and picked up speed but didn't change much with the action-packed A SECRET LIFE. Now, as Lynn Mason's second entry into the series, she combines the best of both of those books in DISAPPEARED.
It seems as if the main character, Sydney Bristow, has really grown up and is learning how to do things on her own and handle a full mission. The plot clipped along at a rapid pace but didn't leave anything to be desired, and the ending had a twist that was something I'd expect from the show's brilliant writers. Overall much better than its slightly-better-than-average-predecessors that I just read as a fan of the show. This one leaves you wanting more.

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun, Light Read
Being a die-hard fan of the show, I have read the other books in the Alias series, but had a bit of trouble finding this one. It was an amusing, fast read, but I thought it was lacking in plot. All Sydney does is hang around in a castle while her co-inhabitants are picked off one by one. The real action does not happen until the very end of the book. I thought the scene showing how she gets to know the hunky Burke was the high point of the book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Favorite
This is my favorite Alias novel so far. It read more like a mystery, I like it a lot and I finished in in about an hour. It was a quick, light read.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good
I enjoyed the show and I a just now starting to read the books. Not a tone of action here, but a good pov of what is going on, inside.

Read it, watch the show, you will enjoy them. ... Read more

This unique multi-voice recording brings the first book in Lemony Snicket's alarming A Series of Unfortunate Events to such terrible life that no one should really have to experience it. 5-0 out of 5 stars Magical read for children
If you're looking for a series for your child that's easier to read than Harry Potter, then this is the series for you. My 7 year old daughter hated reading. It was a battle. We tried Harry Potter but the book was way too long for a young reader to read by herself plus some of the words were too difficult and it became frustrating for her. Then I found Pixie Tricks. After starting the first book in the series (Sprite's Secret) my daughter began to realize how wonderful reading can really be. These easy to read books are divided into manageable chapters so that confidence is built as each chapter is read. You won't find your child getting discouraged when the end of the chapter seems too far to get to. So if you have a reluctant reader, take them on a magical journey to Violet's world where fairies really do exist and reading is fun.

5-0 out of 5 stars Tricks for pixies
Pixie tricks Sprite's Secret is a wonderful story. I stayed up last night to read this book. Children 6-8 will love this story and series. I cannot wait to read the rest of this series. For Christmas I want the whole series, all 14 books for all 14 pixies. Pix the trouble maker traps people into playing games with him. Violet Briggs and Sprite the Royal Pixie Trickers go on a mission to send Pix back to the Otherworld. I am eight years old and I love this series. Meet Violet, Sprite, Pix and Hinky Pink and read on. Help Violet and Sprite stop Pix and get things back to normal. Watch out, do not let Pix tap you on the head!

5-0 out of 5 stars Sprite's Secret
Dear Tracey,
I love your series of books! Reading used to be boring until I found your books. If you start reading this story you'll want to read them all. I'd tell you Sprite's Secret but then you won't want to read the book. Just get it and see!
Gigi

5-0 out of 5 stars I love this book.
I am seven years old, and Pixie Tricks Sprite's Secret is one of my favorite books.

Sprite is one of the main characters in the book. He is a Pixie, and also a Royal Pixie Tricker. Evil Pixies have escaped from the other world where fairies live, and it's up to Sprite to send them back.

Violet is an eight year old girl whom Sprite asks for help to find all 14 of the evil pixies.

The way the author says things makes it all sound so real, even though it is only a fantasy. She writes so well that I feel like I am one of the main characters.

Pix is the main reason I love this book. He is one of the evil fairies who escaped, and he loves to play. His powerful, evil, magic is that he makes everyone play with him. To make people want to play with him, he always taps them on the head twice, and then they are under his spell. They play with him for the rest of their lives. They don't eat or sleep or do anything else. His victims just play and play and play.

If you want to find out more about Sprite, Pix, and Violet, I recommend that you read the book.

5-0 out of 5 stars My 6 year old ***loved*** this series!
After I read the first one to her, she couldn't wait to go to the bookstore for the next one. We read all 8 books in the series, and they captured her imagination like no other book has done to this date. She couldn't wait to read them, and she discussed them throughout the day - trying to figure out what would happen next. I highly recommend these books to anyone with a young child. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Love this book!
I have not seen the movie, I heard it was scary for little kids. My 2 1/2 old loves this book, she asks for it again and again. I bought the CD and every time we get in the car she wants Lion King music. She knows all the characters, and even can tell me who is singing right from the book. Very well done. It gets the point across of what happens without being too scary (although I did have to explain to her why Mufasa can't come back anymore).

It is up to you to save their laughter --
Watch over them, protect them from
danger and peril.

At first Piper thinks it's just a coincidence that she'sseeing kids everywhere; since she and Leo have been talking about starting a family, she thinks she's just noticing them more. And they seem to be forming an orchestra. No one will listen to Piper, or obey her, or even give her a moment alone. Piper starts to wonder if she and Leo can handle starting a family.

While Piper's contemplating diaper rash, Phoebe finds out about a rash of disappearances in San Francisco. Musicians have vanished all over the city, and they were all candidates to conduct a youth symphony. So how has Paige's new love managed to stick around long enough to be the symphony leader? 4-0 out of 5 stars Alias For Kids???
I really love the Alias T.V show so I thought that I would love the books. I have read the first two and they are very enjoyable and I recommend them to anyone who even remotely likes the show. The books show a side to Sydney that shows a different side to her. I don't know how to explain it but this book really brings it out when she is falling in love with Noah Hicks.

However I would say that most people that watch the show do not usually read children's books. I am sad to say that this is a child's book. It only has 202 pages. If I read it non-stop then I could have read it in two to two and a half-hours. The writers have done a good job of getting all of the books out in a timely fashion, but I think the readers need more. And knowing the Alias franchise they usually will satisfy their fan's needs. Maybe they should go towards a more of a Tom Clancy book. I think that as the show has gotten more graphic so should the books.

Over all I would have to recommend this book because it should give you a fix until next Sunday. However if they did go to a more adult book I think that more fans would purchase the books and, as long as the writers do not change the quality of the writing, then it should get five starts from everyone.

P.S If you could please e-mail me with any tips that would be great I really would like to be helpful on this subject.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wheee! This makes up for the ALIAS rerun this week!
A great book. It's the story of Sydney's first "official" mission- because undercover concerts with sleazy Cubans don't count. Guess who her partner is- Noah Hicks! This book makes him sound relatively hot, not the No!Augh assassin he really is. Sydney and Noah go to Paris for a "simple" reconaissance mission- but nothing is as simple as it seems. They have great aliases- wealthy young people! Nothing like that, huh? And Sydney gets to try on pretty clothes! Sydney conquers her fear of deep swimming, which stems from "Laura Bristow's accident". And the first safe house visit! Let me get my scrapbook! Sydney finds herself falling in love with Noah, and almost tricks Francie! My God, Sydney at a frat party! That must be some dorm salad bar! Not really, read the book! (Techno beats of doom...) Does Sydney make it out alive? Well, DUH. She does have a whole series to get through. Does she fall in love with Noah? Well, DUH again! They meet again in season 1, episode 18, and Noah meets his timely demise in episode 19. Oh well. The book makes him seem more appealing than he really is.

4-0 out of 5 stars Sydney¿s First Mission
This is a fun read for Alias fans, telling of Sydney's first mission to Paris and how she got a crush on Noah Hicks.

This book is a very good book. It is like the TV show, yet, still as exciting. Sydney Bristow is part of SD-6, which is part of the CIA. She is getting her first alias. She will be disguised as a rich tourist snob visiting Paris. It's her first at everything; her first mission, enemy, crush, and BIG mistake. A lot of things happen in this book; her crush is also disguised, as her husband. In the middle, they also find out that their hotel room is bugged. There is also another part when she gets caught by a strong man with a lot of muscles. There are many surprises in this story, and it makes the story very exciting.
One of the parts I liked was when she was finding out information on her new alias. I wish I could go to Paris as a rich snob but, it is also dangerous. There are many parts in this story when she was close to death. "Her final gasp of air burned in her lungs. In less than a minute, she'd have to breathe." That part was very scary, so I continued to read on. "Reflex would force her mouth open, and she'd suck down water instead of air." At that part I thought she was going to die, but I knew she couldn't because then the series wouldn't continue.
I don't like the part when her crush, Noah Hicks, gets mad at her. She was trying to hide when some bad guys came. She couldn't do anything else or else she would be killed. She just stayed there until they left, making Noah very angry and mad. After he got mad at her, he had a whole new perspective of him. Furthermore, her feelings changed for him. That part, in my opinion, was very sad to me.
My favorite part of the story is when Sydney gets to do a lot of things with weapons. This is what the CIA really is about and it shows you how dangerous it really is. I like how they talk about all the weapons she carries and how she has to wear all these tapes and microphones and guns! That part was very awesome and cool in my opinion. This is a very good book to read.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good, fast, easy, wonderful
I enjoyed this much very much. It made for an easy read but with enough meat on its bones to be interesting. Highly recommended, I give it four stars.

4-0 out of 5 stars A solid, but not excellent, choice
Our son is just beginning the process of toilet training. This book brings forward familiar characters. The pictures are colorful, the word choice is good and the story is good for youngsters. It gets a bit long, but my son stays with it.

I always prefer books that are board pages and not paper so we can let him have the book for his own parousal without supervision. I see this as the only drawback on what is becoming a favorite for my son.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great for older toddlers!
If, like me, you have an older toddler, who understands the concept of using the potty, but isn't fully trained yet, this is a GREAT book! My 3 yr old daughter just loves the idea of becoming a Toileteer. We read this book every day. So far, no other book has motivated her the way this one has. However, if you are just starting potty learning, you might want to get another book to go with this one, a book that would explain more about how to use the potty. I don't think this would be an effective book for a child who had no clue what the potty was. But for a child who has the basic idea down, and just needs a little reassurance, this is an awesome book. My favorite part is the end, where Luna reassures kids that they can still be kids, and Mommy and Daddy will still take care of them, even when they use the potty.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Introduction to Potty Concepts
If your child enjoys books a little on the longer side, than this one might be for him/her. The story is nearly identical to the "Potty Time" video, if you have seen it. The only difference I noticed is that it also includes a brief discussion by Bear to Treelo about where it all goes (through the plumbing).
The story also includes the idea that accidents do happen sometimes (as they do with Ojo in the story), as well as what to say when you're not at home and you have to use the bathroom, and remembering to flush (along with the other processes of using the potty). Included is a special "toileteer" sticker with Pip and Pop on it.
My (just-turned) 2 year old has just begun the potty training process, and she asks me repeatedly to read this book to her while she is sitting on the potty.

4-0 out of 5 stars reassurance rather than training
This is not a terribly effective book for training a youngster to use the toilet, but it is very reassuring and answers questions about the process. While I think it is too wordy for little ones, I like that handwashing and flushing are mentioned several times and the picture of the pipes taking the pee and poop away is interesting. Tutter, Ojo and Treelo all use the big toilet, and Pip and Pop induct them into the Toileteers. (A Toileteer sticker is included with the book.) In conclusion, Bear and Luna discuss how growing up doesn't mean you won't be cared for and loved.

Not the best book for teaching -- for that use Sears' excellent 'You Can Go to the Potty' -- but a gentle reassuring book for kids who might be a little skeptical about the whole process. Good luck, Toileteer parents!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great toilet-training book for parents and kids
You or your child(ren) do not have to be fans of "Bear in the Big Blue House" to use and appreciate this very helpful book. (I'm lucky that it's my 2½ year-old's favorite show). The pictures and words are uncomplicated and easy for children to understand, and I like that when covering the basic bodily functions, they used the words "poop" and "pee" rather than cutesy names. It's not really gender-specific, since it doesn't cover or show genitalia/ differences between boys and girls, but it handles everything else in a fun and educational manner. Parents may also like how it emphasizes wiping and hand washing after using the toilet, and it shows (with a clever illustration) where poop and pee go when flushed away. There's even a Toileteers Club that the characters form at the end, and the book comes with a Toileteer sticker as a bonus. There are plenty of reassurances along the way: that accidents happen, and that's normal and OK; that it's alright to leave what you're doing to go to the potty, and your things will still be there when you come back; and that giving up diapers does not mean that the other great things about being a kid--like cuddles and hugs and love from mommy and daddy--go away. The episode this is based on is also available on video, and is equally good. Very highly recommended, along with "Once Upon a Potty" (separate books and videos for girls and boys) and "The Potty Book," also separate for boys and girls. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Alias Fun
As a big Alias fan, I thought this was a fun little read, seeing what the unsinkable Sydney was like back before the TV series started. Better writing than I had expected from a novelization.

3-0 out of 5 stars Cliche Characters
while i totally enjoyed reading this short novel (mainly because i love love love sydney!!!), the college sorority characters all seemed to fit into cliche grooves--what you expect to find in a hoity toity sorority is all there. the author seemed to manipulate us and sydney into suspecting the wrong person. however, it is true with sydney's character that she does have a tendency to jump to conclusions and about 40% of the time she is wrong, so i suppose that would fit into her character development. (especially when she jumps to conclusions regarding her father.) and sometimes i wonder what era sydney is living in. i mean, who wears spandex to go running these days? spandex isn't even 90's, it's totally 80's! i know in the tv series they try to keep sydney's wardrobe very classic and timeless, so it would be nice if the authors would try the same. but maybe i am being too critical. i just cannot picture sydney wearing spandex shorts to go running.

this was my least favorite alias book so far, but i still enjoyed it. but mainly because Noah shows up here and there. when he was introduced in the tv series, i loved him. he was smart, hot, confident and cocky. and in response to the girl who wrote how she couldn't wait to see how their relationship ends up, if you paid any attention to the series you know what happens: noah runs away from sydney because he cannot handle doing what he does and being crazy in love with her at the same time. he emails her before he leaves for his new post in europe and and she never reads it because her junk mail gets automatically deleted. she never knows he tried to say goodbye, she thought he just left without a word. and then they hook up again & she finds out he's the Snowman and all heck breaks loose. But even though i know their reltionship is ultimately doomed, i COMPLETELY enjoy reading about how they met and how their romance develops through this and every other alias novel. sydney and noah totally sizzle.

5-0 out of 5 stars Keep 'em coming.
As a hopelessly devoted "Alias" fan, OF COURSE I'm going to buy all the Alias merch I can get my greedy little hands on. Laura Peyton Roberts is quickly becoming my favorite Prequel author, but I'll reserve further judgement for the Michael Vaughn novels (they feature different authors than Sydney's). I love the situations Roberts puts Sydney in... and gets her out of. It's amazing what kind of situations you can put a secret agent through if you have a big enough imagination and let your pen do the talking. Of course, I screamed when she and Noah finally hooked up. In the show, Noah came off as kind of dry, but through the books, he's starting to grow on me. I can't wait to see how the Syd/Noah thing ends.

3-0 out of 5 stars Only Good For Fans of the TV Show
I think that the fourth entry in the Alias series was the worst, although it wasn't bad. The story line slow and it was obvious who the "other spy" was halfway through the book. To sum things up, this could have been better- hopefully Laura Payton Roberts will be able to make sure their next entries in the series will be up to par since they have the next two books off, due to them being based on another character.

5-0 out of 5 stars Danger in the Sun
At first, Sydney is sure her boss at SD-6 is joking. But Wilson was serious when he tells her to join the sorority Alpha Kappa Chi. Seems that Jen, one of the sisters, was also an SD-6 agent, and she recently died under suspicious circumstances. With Francie in tow, Syd heads out to try to get in at this late date. Soon, both girls are the newest members and headed on their trip to Hawaii, where Syd has a two-fold mission. She must find out what happened to Jen and carry out Jen's mission, retrieving an atomic bomb trigger prototype that was sent to the bottom during the Pearl Harbor attack of World War II. Can Syd complete her mission safely without blowing her cover with Francie?

Overall, the plot of this novel was fairly easy to guess. I had most of it figured out long before Sydney did. However, that didn't stop me from enjoying it. Francie gets a much bigger part, and it's nice to see more of her. And watching Syd try to maintain her cover added another layer of excitement. Frankly, I'm also enjoying the love triangle that is building with Noah and Burke.

Like the others, this is a fast read that will appeal to fans of the TV show. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars My 3rd Grader Loved These Books
My daughter is a slow reader and these books provided reading practice while keeping her entertained. We both recommend these books to anyone who likes fantasy stories.

5-0 out of 5 stars Loved IT!
My daughter is 3 1/2 years old and can't get enough of the Pixie Trick books. We have read the entire series (all 8 and hoping for more)and are currently working on our second go round. The writing keeps her interest and the characters are memorable. She even lays in bed after we are done reading and "reads" to herself. This series of books are her first chapter books and as a Mom I would have to say they are perfect. I can't wait till she is really reading them on her own. Bogey Bill in book 4 his her favorite character and she loves saying Robert B. Gnome. Tracy - you have done an excellent job with this series!

5-0 out of 5 stars Sturdy with lots of interesting pictures
My one-and-a-half year old daughter loves this book. Even though she knows what is under each flap, she still flips each flap with excitement. There lots of pictures of common items, like a ball, banana, fish, etc... so the book is helpful in teaching and reinforcing new words. The book is has many pages and keeps my daughter's attention for a long time. It is sturdy and not a single flap has torn, in spite of her constant use. A+.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great lift the flap book you'll love it!
This is one of my kids favorites, starring Elmo, Big bird, Zoe, Ernie, Grover, Grouch...It's not real long though, only about 5 pages. Great for little little ones. It has about 30 flaps.

5-0 out of 5 stars lots to do on each page
My 14 month old loves his blankie and loves Elmo. I could't have asked for a better book. He loves the flaps to open and seems surprised when he looks under each one. If your child loves Sesame Street this will hold his interest every time. ... Read more
