Not for children
I've taught children for many years and my family has many teahers . We were shocked by the content of this video .It would definetely scare young children . Not only would I not recommend it I disposed of my copy .

A Great Purchase
I am a former elementary music teacher and a liscened Kindermusik TM teacher.I taught music at my daughters church preschool last year.The Praise in Motion collection of songs and motions/dances were fabulous.The kids begged for the songs on these video and audio collections.
I am now purchasing a second copy of my own to use with my music students who are not involved in my Kindermusik TM classes.
The only thing that would make these collections easier to use would be for them to be available on CD.It is sometimes difficult to fast forward and find a song on the audio cassett.

High Quality Christian impact on your toddler!!
I've included a desription of the content of this video since Amazon doesn't include one.There are 12 Christmas songs on this tape.Christina Lee's (the author and presentor) technique is designed to involve all 4 aspects (physical, mental, emotional and spiritual) of our children in these activities.After two months of watching this tape, my 16 month old my daughter still brings tears to my eyes as I watch her learn more and more of the hand motions that go with each song.She even does the hand motions when I sing the songs in the car.Christina leads an audiance of toddlers through hand motions for each song.The film flashes back and forth between Christina and the kids who are all adorable. The first four songs use props (bells, tinsle, a candy cane and a fake candle) that my daughter just loves.Christina's outfit (see video cover), makeup and seeming lack of eyecontact take a while for us adults to warm up to but the kids seem to love it.What got me to buy this video was Christina's personal letter on the video signed Sincerely His.She's a veteran music teacher that appears to know what she is doing.As good solid Christian influences for our toddlers are hard to come by - even my extended family agrees that this was a great find!!Praise God and peace be with you and your family. Have the video/very fun music for my two-year-old
Though I have the video, I thought I'd write a review because the music is so cute and cheerful. My 2 1/2 year old son isn't too interested in most videos, but this one captures his attention; he often does the song motions along with it. I think the audio alone would be fun, too, as long as someone is showing kids how to move and play to the music. For example, one kitchen band song talks about "let's play a muffin tin!" and such. My two kids and I raid the kitchen and make a kitchen band. Another song is about "dancing/tiptoeing/hopping/etc in a ring" where the kids can move around in a circle and do the motions. This could give ideas for a church nursery or play group. Some songs are praise songs ("Praise Jesus! Praise God! We are the kitchen squad!"), so this is definitely a resource Christians will enjoy more than those of other faiths. Few of the selections are non-Christian. This is fun, sweet music! ... Read more

A heartwarming look into the hearts of children!
This book is a refreshing reminder of the simplistic mind of achild, as we read how these little ones ponder who God really is andhow He works. The questions posed and statements made by these children are heartwarming and often comical! I laughed through the whole book! A must read for a parent or teacher of children.

Fervent wishes, confessions, confidences, praise, and thanks
The mustered letters in this book are wonderful. In fact, they are a great delight. This is what we need to see in today's children. All of them touched my heart with laughter but not just that. The questions, innocence, and wiseness of the children (all under ten) are dominant. It shows for once that children may know better than their elders (sometimes). Particularly one letter stays in my mind:

Dear God,
I wish that there wasn't no such thing of sin. I wish that there was not no such thing of war.

If only it were that simple. It makes one wish to never grow up. "Children's Letters to God" is splendid and is an inspiring gift for anyone who has had the pleasure of being in the presence of a child's smile.

Revealing...inspiring...comical
In February 2003, Rabbi Moshe Weinberger of New York arrived in Denver to deliver a lecture entitled "Echoes of Prophecy: Finding Spirituality in Everyday Living." A great deal of the talk dealt with the innate lofty spiritual sensitivity and innocence found within children. This collection of children's letters to G-d validates much of what the rabbi discussed. "Dear G-d, I don't ever feel alone since I found out about you. -Nora." "Dear G-d, how come you did all those miracles in the old days and don't do any now? -Seymour." Some of the letters will make you laugh out loud. "Dear G-d, if you let the dinasor not exstinct we would not have a country. You did the right thing. -Jonathan." "Dear G-d, did you mean for the giraffe to look like that or was it an accident? -Norma". This book is a priceless treasure to be read again and again for its amusing comical relief as well as for its deeper underlying messages and spiritual reminders as inspired through children.

Too Thin
The idea for the book has great potential--and some of the children's letters are very cute--but the book itself is simply too thin to merit the rave reviews that others have given it. I was disappointed that the book had so little material and it would be hard for me to recommend it at the published price.

Laughter through honesty
This book had me laughing out load on a bus to the point people must have thought I was crazy. The questions these children ask are truly the most cleaver and honest thoughts that seemingly only a child can think of! One Incredibly Fun Summer
This collection of 12 episodes from Adventures in Odyssey covers the first summer of the long running kid's radio drama. It contains lots of humor and suspense as the gang in Odyssey face a summer they won't forget.

The set starts off with the two part "Family Vacation," which introduces the Barclay family as they try to take a vacation to Florida.

"The Day Independence Came" launches Irwin Springer back in time to the American Revolution in the days before the Imagination Station.

"Stormy Weather" finds Connie trying to talk her way into visiting California to get away from the Christians in Odyssey as a huge storm is approaching town.

The hilarious "VBS Blues" tells the story of Ned Lewis trying to put on a respectable VBS program with a group of guys who are more interested in creating problems then in actually learning anything from the Bible.

"KYDS Radio" was the very first time they toyed with the idea of a radio station in Whit's End. It didn't come back until later, but an interesting look at the beginnings of an idea. And some funny stuff along the way. "The highs will be in the lows of the uppers."

The gang always learns valuable lessons from "Camp What-a-Nut," and the first visit is no exception. And the cliffhanger between the parts is a real doozie.

The two part "Case of the Secret Room" finds Whit and Tom Riley's niece trying to solve the mystery of the skeleton in the basement of Whit's End.

Whit tells Jack and Lucy the story of Jonah and the whale ("Big fish. Whatever.") in "Return to the Bible Room."

The collection ends appropriately enough with "The Last Great Adventure of the Summer." This episode finds Terry Johnston learning something new about his dad as they are chased by spies.

I still remember listening to these episodes as a kid every week that summer. And this collection has gotten plenty of play time over the years. The stories are entertaining no matter how many times you've heard them, and lots of lines still get a laugh from me, even as I say it along with the characters.

Any one looking for a good story or a little of the early years of Odyssey will love this set. ... Read more
