Too Silly!
This is a silly book that little ones will think is fun, but for a parent trying to introduce potty training it leaves one wondering....... For instance, I did not appreciate the part where Chuckie is supposed to be using the toilet paper to clean himself after using the potty because it shows a chaotic mass of toilet paper all over the place. I'm trying to encourage my child to use a few sheets & not to unravel the entire spool of toilet paper! Also there's not much in the way of a story to read. I've read a half dozen other potty books and they were heads above this one.

Don't Have to be a "Rugrats" Fan, but It Helps
Whether you're child loves Chuckie, Tommy, Phil & Lil and Spike or not, the pictures and situation in this book will delight. The only thing missing from this wonderful paperback is Angelica's devious influences. In several short pages, author Kathi Wagner and illustrator Ron Zalme capture the babies' individual personalities and send Chuckie on the quest of a toddler's lifetime. Pure fun, whether you're potty-trained or not!

The Sick Days
I'm sure we all remember those bad days where even a slight cold made us feel like we couldn't even get out of bed. I know I have been there and it is not the best feeling in the world. In this book, when Tommy hears his grandpa say he has a bug, he sets out on a search to find it. When his friends come over, they help him look for this bug that is making Tommy feel so bad. His parents try to do all they can to help him get better as soon as possible, just as my parents did for me whenever I was sick. They gave him medicine and let him rest so he would get better, and just after a couple of days, he was better. But I would say that this is a really good children's book because even little kids have been sick and they know how it is to feel like that. Not only that, but it shows how far children's imaginations go when they hear things.

"The Turkey Who came to Dinner," is from the cartoon show on Nickelodeon. It is about Thanksgiving and how a lot of things go wrong. For one Grandpa Lou orders a live turkey. Well the turkey comes before all the women are back from shopping. While Tommy and the rest of the children find the turkey. Then they realize that they are supposed to eat the turkey instead of having a new friend. So they figure it is a bird and try to get the turkey to fly away. They try all sorts of ways to get him to fly away. But they don't work. So find out what happens and read this book. I think this book is a book for ages 4 to around 10. The lesson the book teaches, is make sure u don't take things like friends and family for granted.

New book....outdated information
Pediatric Dentists are battling for early visits to prevent and detect problems with early childhood caries. The rugrats have not yet received this message. The book suggests that the time for the first visit is once all primary teeth are erupted. That would mean ca. 3 years of age which seems to match with Angelica and Susie's age. The "little kids" have some erupted teeth (Chuckie and the twins), but they are told that they are too young to see the dentist - The chance to include anticipatory guidance and discuss baby bottle caries is clearly missed. Why does a dentist have to be bald and look this serious? At least x-rays are taken and some prevention is discussed. ... Read more

Ummmmmmm, needs more info...
It's been three years since this book was published, and I must note that this book contains a LOT of mistakes!

The pilot episode mentioned on page 10 was titled "Tommy Pickles And The Great White Thing", and you can find a dialogue from it on page 22. That episode never aired on Nickelodeon, but they did use a scene from it on one of the promos for Nick. (Tommy picks the remote up and changes the channel to Nick.)

For those of you who just found out about Tommy's voice, E.G. Daily's initials stand for "Elizabeth Gutman".

"Tommy At Bat" was not the real name for that episode. The actual title was "Baseball".

The episode guide is messed-up on the last few episodes of the 1993 season. The real order goes like this: 62) Kid TV/The Sky Is Falling 63) I Remember Melville/No More Cookies 64) Cradle Attraction/Moving Away 65) Passover

Also the titles for the next three episodes are wrong in this book: They're really named "Chanukah", "Mother's Day", and "Vacation".

About Tommy and Chuckie learning about Didi being pregnant again at the end of "The Family Tree", I must note that Tommy and Chuckie weren't in the final scene for that episode.

And then there's the characters not listed: the new characters introduced from the second movie, and does anyone remember Larry and Steve from the first two seasons?
