5-0 out of 5 stars Seperate but not equal
To me this book is one of the best books i've ever read. This book is about the struggles of young african americans and their struggles with education. In 1957 they tried to get black students to go in a white school and they had to walk to school by a wall of soldiers. This book is also good because each chapter is a different story about another persons struggle. This is a very good book. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Fluffy's Fun For Parents Too
My six year old loves Fluffy and his bad attitude and I have to confess so do I. When I'm overdosing on the treacly, politically correct reading material that comes home from school Fluffy is the perfect antidote

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!
I have read two of the Fluffy books. I love them and so do my kids. I cannot wait to read the other two about Fluffy. These are books I don't mind reading over and over with my children. Thank you for them! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Young Puzzle Books Rule!
Our 8 year old son finds the Puzzle Books Series fascinating. They keep his attention for hours. He loves trying to figure out the solutions to the puzzles. The illustrations are very well done with vibrant colors. We found our 8 year old son reading them to his 4 year old sister last night. She loves them too! Maybe next year our four year old will be reading them to our two year old. Thanks for a terrific series. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Real World Math for Kids!
I purchased this book for my 10 year old to work on during summer vacation. Delaware is deep into education standards, writing and problem solving. This book touches it all! The "word problems" are great short stories and deal with topics children are familiar with. The questions after each story challenge children in reading comprehension as well as math skills. I would recommend this book for teachers as well as parents for enrichment purposes. ... Read more

Book Description

Hi, new shoes. Howdy, cubbies. Hey there, crayon. Hello School!

This collection of 38 vivid poems brings the classroom to life and sets the scene for a first school experience. From the eager anticipation of the building itself: “Wakes up early.Just can’t waitto see who’s coming.Don’t be late!” to the anxious pleas of the supplies: “Stick with me,says Glue with a grin, and I’ll stick with you . . .through thick and thin,” Hello School! celebrates all things preschool. Letters, numbers, books, water fountains, carpet squares, swings, and slides all pop off the page and into a child’s imagination.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Introduction to Poetry and School
A perfect gift for your child entering preschool or kindergarten. The poems are very short (about 4 lines) and easy for a child to understand. The illustrations are very well done in primary colors using foam board, plaster and acryllic. Each humorous poem is about an object found in a primary school classroom.

This book would also be an appropritate gift for a kindergarten teacher.

I have read a lot of children's poetry, and this is one of the best children's poetry collections I've seen.

2-0 out of 5 stars I was disappointed.
This book might be useful if you want to test your first grader's knowledge. But it really does not teach.Think of them as puzzle pages, rather than instruction. If the publishers had spent more time on thecontent instead of making it pretty and colorful, it might have been abetter book. There is ambiguity in some of the instructions. On page 30, the children are given a map-picture and told to guide someone back to hisfamily. But it doesn't point out which of the other groups is his family. How can you find your way if you don't know your destination?Other errorsjust stim from carelessness. On page 42, the children are asked to writethe time on the clocks pictured. One of them is supposed to be 8:30.Thebig hand IS on the 6.But the hour hand is not between the 8 and the 9 asit should be; it's pointing right at the 9.That's confusing to someonejust learning. There are much better books than this. For example, Ifound one called Everything For Early Learning published in 1998 by Landollof Ashland, Ohio.Amazon doesn't have this.Maybe if enought people askfor it, they will get it. ... High school elections may be popularity contests, but this guide to becoming a successful high school politician reveals that with the right strategy anyone can win. Collected from more than 1,000 students recently involved in winning campaigns, advice is presented for a wide range of campaign tactics from techniques for running against even the most popular and qualified opponents to the most effective means of publicizing a candidacy. 5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent activities, not only for use by the therapist
This series gives great assignments, which are great for para-professionals or parents to utilize between sessions. The age targeted activites are great, especially for the little ones. The categories of activities are helpful in determining what activites will be appropriate with goals the client is working on. I appreciate that there are mutliple activites for each target area. This allows me to work through a spectrum of approaches to the same issue. The kids seem able to relate to the stories in the exercises. I have found the activities helpful in beginning to get them to approach difficult subjects, without feeling like they are in the 'hot seat'.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent tool for addressing needs of children in K-12.
This book is an exceptional tool for providing exercises when working with children. It provides hours of activities that counselors, new and experienced, can apply in the K-12 school system. ... Read more
