5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT BOOKS!
The Bailey City School books are great! You'll love them! Also, be sure to check out the other books and book series by the same authors - Barkley's School For Dogs - Bailey City Monsters - Triplett Trouble. They're great, too!

3-0 out of 5 stars Entertaining but getting old, predictable
Once again the Baily School Kids Melody, Eddie, Howie, and Liza have found that they have a pretty wierd adult in Baily City, and it just turns out to be their ecology project coordinator. Mr. Bunyip is definitely strange. He says he comes from Australia and he came to the United States because people were overcrowding his space. Plus he chases wild turkeys!! Melody knows somethings up again so she does some research and comes up with the conclusion that Mr. Bunyip is a swamp monster. Well, once again that Baily School Kids are out to save Baily City and this time in a ecological way too by cleaning Swamp Dread! However will cleaning be the only way to drive out Mr. Bunyip? Read to find out!!!

These Baily School Kids books are quite entertaining and still give me a few laughs. However these books are definitely getting more predictable and the plot lines are practically the same in all the books with just different monsters. I have been reading these books for 4 years and I still find them to be entertaining at times but I usually only read them if I have a lot of spare time. To sum it up: Still not a bad read for a cold dreary day!!! Especially would be good for little kids cause I think part of the reason I am not that interested in them anymore is because I am much older now!

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best books I've read!
This one kept me laughing. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars More Early Alice Fun
In this second prequel to the Alice series, Alice is entering the fourth grade. She has a man teacher for the first time, and is now friends with the Terrible Triplets. Lester lies to her more and she, of course, believes him, which leads to some funny happenings. She also forms the "Secret Six," gets snowed in her own snow cave, and no matter how she tries to help Lester, they just can't seem to get along. This book does, however, end on a good note. I would highly recommend this prequel, along with "Starting With Alice" to any young girl, whether she's heard of Alice or not.

5-0 out of 5 stars It was a great booook.

4-0 out of 5 stars Awsome Book
All but Alice is a fantastic book written by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor. The author makes you feel like you are Alice. Alice is a selfconcious young lady. Elizabeth, is vein, and Pamela is enthusiastic. Alice started seventh grade, and also joined the All Stars Fan Club and the earring club. She becomes one of the famous eight. Still there are situations to fix. Can she be a sister with girls who want to be her brother's (Lester) girlfriend? What will she do when her father dates her teacher, Miss Summers? So why don't you read the book and find out.
This book is a MUST READ! The reader can learn not to worry about everything or else it might turn out bad. You actually feel like you're in Alice's body. It's easy to put a picture in your mind. You feel like you're actually in that world, as Alice.
Phyllis Reynolds Naylor is a great author. Her parents read to her and sang songs that were actually stories. She could hardly wait to read and write her own books. Her books are about things she heard or read, all mixed up with her imaginations. All But Alice is a terrific book and I think you should read it along with some of her other books.

4-0 out of 5 stars Well Written!
When Alice McKinley, a mother-less girl, becomes a member or the "in" group, Alice gets a lot of attention from boys such as Brian. Then Alice learns that worrying about your looks and try on earings are not as much fun and even if she is in the Beautiful Eight, it is kind of boring. So after an embarrassment to one of Alice's true friends, Alice decides to do the right thing and even if it doesn't sound believible, it was touching and thoughtful! Mrs.Naylor is truly a well writer and has written over eighty books including Shiloh, which has one many respects and rewards. The Alice Series is well written and so is this Alice book. Watch for Alice's new book Simply Alice in Spring 2002. To keep yourself busy, read Alice's newest book around and the book that everybody's talking about with tears about Patrick being interested in another girl besides Alice in Alice Alone!

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the funnier Alice books!
This book takes us through the winter of Alice's seventh grade year. She falls in with the popular crowd and learns what it is like to be one of the beautiful people, or "Famous Eight" as they're referred to. But the more "in" she becomes, the more "out" Elizabeth seems to be; leading Alice to miss the simple days when she, Elizabeth, and Pamela were close friends. Alice has some serious thoughts about whether it's worth the boredom to be popular or whether she should just be herself. The subplot involving Lester's love life (Marilyn, Christal, and now Loretta thrown in the mix) and Alice's fathers love life (will he propose to Miss Summers?) make for some of the novels funnier moments. This is one Alice book you don't want to miss, with some thoughtful lessons about acceptance and popularity thrown in.

5-0 out of 5 stars What can I say? GREAT, THAT'S WHAT!
GREAT!! This story is very realistic and I wholeheartedly recommend it with the usual warning I give when reviewing Alice books: Only read this yourself, kids, or ,adults, give this book to someone if you are sure they will not faint if they see read some sexual things, which they're are a lot of in the Alice books.

Again, this a wonderful book and really provides an insight into a young girl's mind. I actually suggest boys read the Alice series to get a little understanding of how girl's minds work.

Blessed BE!! :) :) :) :)

5-0 out of 5 stars It is about fitting in with certain peers*
All but Alice was a great book to read. It is about when Alice wants a bulletin board, her ears pierced, and even joins two clubs-The Earring Club and the All-Stars Fan Club. She works at the Melody Inn for three hours and wants to be part of the "in" crowd at school.
Alice may act different in this book out of the other books, but I know how that feels. You act different when you are in a different and a snobbier club and then realize of how idiotic you were to people who didn't pick on you at all.
It is not like Alice picks on anyone in this novel, but it was cruel of her to embarrass her friend Elizabeth like that. One of the Three Handsome Stooges likes and picks on Alice a lot. Alice feels different and one of the Popular and the Beautiful people at her school.
But the truth is, Alice gets so sick of Brian (one of the 3 Stooges) picking on her. Even in one of the chapters, he puts her face in the snow for fun like it is funny. And on Valentine's Day, her ex-boyfriend Patrick comes over and gives her a big box of chocolates.
Alice didn't realize that she had to share them with him for some weird reason. So Lester tells her that and she reinvites him over.
Lester has a Woman Situation again! Loretta Jenkins (who works at his dad's store) likes him! Lester just wants to take a break from dating and concentrate on homework. Or, in other words, L-I-F-E. Meaning a "non-female-dating-crisis" life.
And turns out that Alice's dad goes out with her 7th-grade Language Arts teacher Miss Summers. Again. And he gives her a Vivaldi cassette. AND, turns out that Alice becomes herself again, kisses Patrick again (because he threw up on the bus and Brian told Alice to make fun of him when he comes back but she comes to the rescue and they talk and then kiss on the bus. Yep. Just like that!), and quits the Earring Club (I think) and the All-Stars Fan CLub.
The letter Alice wrote to a famous rock-star was very funny. Even though it was a joke, the person in charge of it mailed it to the star!
This was a good book for peoples out there who have trouble fitting in with the right people. Phyllis Reynolds Naylor is a great author and knows how to describe a junior-high girl's life today.
So if you're bored, then I suggest reading All But Alice. ... Read more

She should say good-bye to Angel, the love of her life.

She should say, "See ya later! Have fun at college. Don't forget me!"

But is that what she really wants?

5-0 out of 5 stars Great, Funny, and Realistic
This book is great! Angel is dealing with his money problems, Tia is dealing with Angel, Jessica is dealing with Will and Jeremy, Liz is dealing with Conner, Will is dealing with Jessica, Conner is dealing with his mom, Jeremy is dealing with Jessica, Andy is dealing with himself, and they are also dealing with the kidnapping thing. Also, one part that caught my eye is the part where Jeremy writes his letter to God, and ends it with, "If you need soemone else to torture, there's this guy Will Simmons...", showing his rivalry with Will. Now I am a fan of both Will and Jeremy, btu that line cracked me up. Anyway, this book is great!

5-0 out of 5 stars Interesting, FUnny, Realistic, Romantic!
This book is reall great! The whole Angel thing is so realistic, and the way he's pressured with the money situation is so well- written it makes you wonder what you'd do in his shoes. Tia is also worried that she's become part of the problem. Jessica loves both Will and Jeremy. Even though Will ruined her life, she still has a thing for him. I am a fan of both Will and Jeremy, but I cracked up when I read the part where Jeremy wrote a letter to, you know, and ended it off with "If you need someone else to pick on, there's this guy Will Simmons...", I fell over laughing! I love both Jeremy and Will, but it was mad funny! Anyway, this book is great! Jess falls for Will, but is nervous to admit it cause she's afraid she's betrayign Jeremy. Liz is all depressed about Conner. COnner is having problems with his mother, who's suddenly acting strange. The whole Will/Jessica/Jeremy love triangle is well written. The Angel situation with his money and Tia is well written. ALso, the funny thing Jeremy wrote is well written. This book is great!

4-0 out of 5 stars good book but not really my type
i think that this book wasn't really my type of book .. although it was interesting and many ironic turns here and there .. i think that the problems they talk about in this book will be problems i will face when i'm older .. for example .. dating issues .. i think i'll use this book has a real resource when i'm in high school or something. but this book is really interesting and unique in many ways .. and i would recommend it to someone in a older grade like students that are in their highschool years.

5-0 out of 5 stars Book #10 in SVH Senior Year Series
After losing his college savings at the tracks, Angel Desmond is startled with yet another blow in "Broken Angel" when his father fires him from the family's car shop after finding out about Angel's financial mishap. (What is wrong with that guy's father?) Now Angel isn't even sure he can go to Stanford, no matter how hard he works at his other job at the Riot.

Meanwhile, Jeremy Aames breaks up with Jessica Wakefield, thinking it best for them to spend some time apart, especially after he caught Jess on what looked like a date with Will Simmons in the previous book, "The One That Got Away". It's now left up to Jessica to figure out who she wants to be with--Jeremy or Will. And it doesn't look like it'll be an easy decision for her either, especially after reading her "Jeremy vs. Will" comparison list on page 60 and 61--and especially after what happens in the last few pages of this book during the cheerleader-football team "kidnapping".

And speaking of writing samples, there are two humorous bits in "Broken Angel": 1) on page 122, the morning announcement Maria Slater has to read to the school about showing school spirit the "responsible and mature" way, and 2) on page 133-6, Andy Marsden's slacker essay for the Oracle on school spirit. There are additional notes and journal entries (which is standard in every SVH Senior Year book), including some e-mails passed between Maria and Ken, who, surprisingly, have not yet gotten together, if they ever will. But at least Ken's still determined to get back on the football team, the one thing (besides the memory of his dead girlfriend) that brings him a great deal of happiness.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best book keep on reading
this was a really great senior year. I think that is was worth every penny. It is about Tia and Angel and how he lost all his money, at the race track and about his decision to stay or to go away to college. It makes you never want to stop reading it and it is very suspensful with Jessica and Jermey and all there problems going on. it is very good and i recomend it a lot. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Friends BSC Forever: Stacey V.S Claudia(#2)
I read it 7 times.Still love it!In this book Claud and Stace are fighting over a boy. Will Claud and Stace speak to each other again?Just read it and found out by yourself.
The "Friends BSC Forever" is the newest series of The Baby-Sitters Club.

Lots Of Love,
Fulliem Quach xoxoxoxo

5-0 out of 5 stars What Stace did was just plain WRONG !!!!!!!
Poor Claudia! I really feel sorry for her! Her best friend is trash!!!!!!

In Friends Forever #2, Stacey instently (as usual) falls in love with the new guy in school. At first, Stacey thinks Jeremy would be wonderful for Claudia but when Jeremy isn't interested in her Stacey moves in.......

UGH! In the BSC series Stacey seemed a little guy crazy but always sweet and caring. In the Friends Forever books however, Stacey's nothing but a shallow self-centered brat who only cares about herself! Claudia has every right to be mad at her!!!!!!

I LOVE THESE BOOKS! I CAN'T WAIT TO READ #3! THANKS SO MUCH ANN!

4-0 out of 5 stars This is a must-read for the Friends Forever series
This book is the book in the Friends Forever series where Claudia and Stacey get into a huge fight over the same guy, Jeremy, who is new in school. This is important, because up til the end of the series they're still fighting and their friendship is never the same again.

I know- you'd never expect them to get into a fight over THAT, and that's the reason why I'm giving it a four. The book is well-written, but the REASON for the fight is terrible. Why end a friendship over a guy that you've only known for a couple of days? Anyway...

This is in Stacey's point of view (you can see Claudia's in book number 4). This is also where Stacey meets Rachel, who becomes a really good friend but the other baby-sitters can't stand her. Stacey breaks up with Ethan, and things hit ANOTHER turning point in the BSC.

All in all, a pretty exciting book!

5-0 out of 5 stars A must read book!
This book is one of the best books in the BSC Friends Forever Series! It is one of my favorites so far! Keep up the good work, Ms. Martin!

Claudia and Stacey have fallen for the same boy! Jeremy is cute, sensitive, and available. At first, Stacey thinks he'd be perfect for Claudia. But when he says he's not interested, Stacey realizes he's perfect...for her. Claudia disagrees. She thinks she really had a chance with Jeremy...until Stacey came along. Let the friendship feud begin!

2-0 out of 5 stars Stacey is such a brat
Most people are saying that Claudia is shallow, a loser or whatever, but I really hated how Stacey acted in this book. I thought she was so immature and I didn't like how she thought she was better then Claudia in any way, because she isn't. Anyway, I hope that Jeremy will open his eyes and see what a brat Stacey is and fast. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A great ending to Sweet Valley
Sweet 18 is a great book. I cried while reading it, because it had so much nostalgia in its pages. If you are a Sweet Valley fan at all, you really need to purchase this book. I think it was a great idea to package the first and last ever Sweet Valley books together- Sweet 18 and Double Love. It's awesome to see that after twenty years Sweet Valley still has what made it so speacial to begin with. I can't believe this is going to be the last Sweet Valley book ever written. No more rushing to the bookstore every month to buy the latest one. No more skimming the book in the store to sneak peak all of the Elizabeth and Todd moments. ;-) Well, if it had to end (and I wish it didn't) this really is a great book. The light at the end of the tunnel for us lifelong Sweet Valley fans: "Perhaps in a few years, I'll start again with a Sweet Valley for the twenty-first century." - Francine Pascal. I sure hope she does.

5-0 out of 5 stars thanks for the memories
I started reading the Sweet Valley High series before I was even in high school. I continued to read the series through my own high school career. I'm now a Senior in COLLEGE and I'm still reading the books.

This final book is a wonderful read. Jessica feels the same aprehension about graduating that I do. It also allows you to revist with old friends Winston Egbert and Enid Rollins. As the twins relieve fond memories; you the reader will too.
If you currently are or ever were a Sweet Valley fan buy this book. You won't be dissapointed and you'll cry on graduation day just like I did.

4-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed that Life did not Mimic the Book!
I read about the SVH twins over 10 years ago and had such high hopes for high school, boys and life in general. The stories were so well written that the TV version was definitely never warranted. I hungered for a more eventful life like the one's in the stories to no aveil... My high school didn't even have a football team!

I believer that the imagination of today's generation of kids has been severely altered by the boob tube, and that we seriously need more well-written books such as these.

4-0 out of 5 stars great
This book was great. I loved how Elizabeth did that cooking test for Jess and she failed it! The only thing that I absolutley hated is that this book was sooooo different from the university series. The author shouldv'e wrote them in order but instead she wrote the svh, svu books and the rest in a different order. some things she wrote were just not possible. for example, elizabeth saw olivia in SVU, but she already died in svh!! she definitley shouldnt have done that. finish one series, then go on 2 the next!

4-0 out of 5 stars Coming to a End
I have to say that this book made me a little sad since this will be the last book. Jessica gets mad at Elizabeth because she might be going to Oxford and Liz didn't tell her. I thought that too much of the book was focused on Jessica and Elizabeth's fight, I would have liked to seen them make up and have more fun together instead of fighting for the most part of the book. Some of the old characters are also briefly mentioned. Andy, Tia, and Conner still plan to go on their road trip, but there is something that happens that might not make their road trip as fun as it could be but everything works out in the end. Maria and Ken remember Oliva. The graduation storyline was great, I would have liked their celebration of finally graduating from high school to have been longer, I thought that it was cut kind of short. Overall though it was a good book. I re-read Double Love since I haven't read it in a long time, and boy have things changed. When Sweet Valley High was changed to Sweet Valley High Senior Year I at first didn't like the change at all in the characters and the addition of the new characters. But after reading Double Love I have to say that Sweet Valley Senior Year was a whole lot better. In Double Love Jessica sounds like a very immuture brat, and in the Senior Year books she has matured a lot. To bad the author didn't start the college series book after she ended this series because I think that it would be much more interesting to follow Jessica, Elizabeth, Tia, Maria, Ken, Conner, etc through life after high school. I also like the ending with Elizabeth and Todd. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars This book is excellent!!!!
Mallory has had a tough time fitting in at school lately, so she decides to go to a boarding school, Riverbend Hall. She quickly makes friends and loves her classes and teachers, but she hasn't planned on Alexis, her roomate, taking over the room, ruining her things, and reading her private journal. Will Mallory and Alexis work things out? This is one of my favorite BSC books, and I've read tons! The change of scenery is something new and exciting. A really good book-READ IT!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Hello Riverbend!
In "The All New Mallory Pike" Mallory finds that boarding school is harder than she thought. Who could have counted on mean roomates that read your journals and destroy your things? But hey, there are good aspects about boarding school too. Such as her new found friends Sarah and Smita. By the end of this book Mallory is sure (and so am I)that she has made the right desision.

3-0 out of 5 stars Mallory used to be tough
Hey y'all remember back in "Poor Mallory" when she told off the snobby girls in the lunchroom cafeteria for gossiping about her father? And she totally stood up to that Mr. Cobb in "Don't Give Up, Mallory" for favoring the boys in their lit class. She USED to be a tough cookie and rolled with the punches and was smart and sharp. Now, she can't take it anymore, and decides to go to boarding school? What IS that? Not the Mallory Pike I knew!

Stonybrook will miss you Mallory! Who will babysit your brothers and sisters for free now? Your parents must be VERY upset.

4-0 out of 5 stars Boarding school.....here she comes!
This book is about a girl named Mallory who's going off to Boarding School. She meets two friends there. She also meets an older girl named Jen. Jen's very nice. But Mallory's roomate is not so nice. She took Mallory's earrings without asking and she ripped up the care package that Mallory's friends in the BSC (Baby-Sitters Club) sent her. Mallory then uncovers the past and finds out that because of her roomate's attitude, many kids left. Mallory dosen't want to leave, but she dosen't want her roomate around either!
I think her roomate deserves what happeneds at the end. Something that makes Mallory really happy. But that's all I'm saying. ;-) ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The best! A very good end to the series.
This is one of the best SV books ever! Everyone is learning to cope after the earthquake. Liz can't remember anything about the earthquake so she is convinced Devon saved her and Enid. Enid obviously had a crush on Devon before they found out the truth. Devon was getting a lot of publicity. Meanwhile, Jessica is so upset about watching Alyssa die and is certain that she killed her. I thought that Jessica in particular was having a hard time. Some of the only things she is able to salvage from their wrecked house is Christian's surfboard and Sam's biking helmet. Liz is able to get her clothes, cheerleading trophy and diaries. Ken is sooo depressed about Olivia. He finally agrees to read the eulogy for her funeral. Todd and Lila are wishing they actually did kiss. Lila decides to 'reinvent' herself and become a better person mostly for Todd's sake. Bryan (Alyssa's brother) comes with his parents to the Fowler Crest to talk to Jessica. Bryan yells at Jess and tells her it's all her fault. Later, they resolve things and agree that it was the earthquake's fault.
At Olivia's funeral, Ken reads a really touching speech for Olivia. Liz gets her memory back and confronts Devon after the funeral. He lies at first, but then Ken and Maria and Jessica come to her rescue and they put him in his place and get him to admit to everyone that he left them to die. Todd kisses Lila at the funeral and doesn't feel a connection or anything. Lila gets so mad him, forgets about 'reinventing' herself, and rather selfishly leaves with Amy to buy Amy clothes to bribe her so she won't tell anyone about the kiss she witnessed. Liz goes over to see Todd that night and they say their final goodbyes. That part was so sad and sweet at the same time! The next morning, everyone meets at the ocean for the scattering of Olivia's ashes. Liz, Jessica, and Lila leave together afterwards and Jessica decides the earthquake really has changed her. The last words in the book were 'Sweet Valley would never be the same again.'
This book made me cry and is one of the best Sweet Valley High books.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Sweet Valley High Never to Forget
Aftershock takes you back to all the Sweet Valley High memories, the Dari Burger, the Wakefield home, and most of all, Olivia Davidson. While Elizabeth struggles to remember the earthquake, Jessica tries to forget it. Jess is haunted by her dreams of 12 year old Alyssa. Ken is heartbroken over Olivia, and Enid is convinced that it was Devon Whitelaw who saved her. This book is a must read for SVH fans.

5-0 out of 5 stars Aftershock: a heartwarming series ender of junior year
I've bought aftershock after I've got the first two books:last wish & earthquake. This book exemplifies the struggle of all characters as they face a disaster that will change their lives forever. I find the book heartwarming because the characters takes a look back on the past-the love, friendships and their trials. This shows the strong bond between the Wakefield twins-Jessica & Elizabeth and their love for their family and friends. I highly recommend this book to the other readers not only for entertainment purpose but also for a guide through teenage life as well.

4-0 out of 5 stars sad but good
Olivias death was very sad and touching..I mean Olivia was in Sweet Valley Twins and everything! Amazing!-I dont recall Olivia being in SVU no 8,which title was that? I think Francine Pascal should join the wwriting team on DaysofourLives...ha ha ha heh...

5-0 out of 5 stars deffinantly one of my favorite!
Sweet Valley is in pieces. Can it be, funky, sweet Olivia is dead? Can Elizabeth handle it? Even more can Ken live on without his one true love or will he give up? Will he go to her funeral and lay her to rest? Will Elizabeth be able to remember what happened after the earthquake or did her getting electricutied make her loose her memory of it forever? Will Jessica ever be able to forgive herself for the death of Alyssa and admit it was and accident so she can finally get some sleep or will the thought haunt her forever? Nothing can chear her up. Maybe the easiest way is to give up all together noone needs her maybe she should just... die? Or could a special little boy and his father teach her that miracles still can happen? Will she choose to live on or loose her life forever? Lila cant get todd out of her mind! Does todd secretly feel the same way or does he still love Elizabeth with all his heart? Was it Devon who saved Elizabeth and Enid? Is he lyeing or telling the truth? He would never lie to Elizabeth, would he? It's time to start re-building Sweet Valley. Everyone needs to pitch in and do there part. So many people left homeless and others even dead. What will happen? This book was great! i couldnt put it down! Deffinantly read this if you want another great story about Elizabeth, Jessica, and the whole group as they battle the consequences of a tragic earthquake but still living on dealing with everything from bad hair days to horrilbly tragic deaths of loved ones. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars SVJH #3
I really like the SVJH series so far, it is so much better then Sweet valley Twins which my little sister used to read. There was something about this book that made me want to read it over and over again. I liked all the scenes with Salvador,Anna and Elizabeth and I thought their magazine pieces at the end of the chapters were very funny, especially Elizabeth's about school bus manners and Salvador's school uniforms. I did think Jessica was acting a bit out of character though when she became friends with Bethel. Bethel seems more like someone Elizabeth would be friends with. You should read the first two books in the series first before buying this book, it makes it more enjoyable.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best SVJH books. So far!
Through all the trials of junior high, Jessica finally finds someone to be friends with. And Bethel is a REAL friend, not like Lacey. Anyway, GO JESSICA! Congratulations!

4-0 out of 5 stars Bethel+Jessica = good & bad
Yea Yea Yea Jessica! I'm really happy that Jessica has finally found a friend. But... I don't exactly like her friend. I mean, come on! Bethel is sooooooooooooo stereotypical! I mean, she looks around at everyone and judges them by how they look. She didn't think Jessica could do it because of how she looked! And Bethel is so mean to Jessica at first, when Jessica doesn't do anything! The only thing I can think of is Bethel is jealous! Anyway, I just don't like this Bethel girl.

5-0 out of 5 stars It is not soulmates its solemates. DUH.
i like this book very much.anna was acting like a baby at first but she was also right. Elizabeth had the right to stay on spector but she should have quit with anna. salvador is very stuborn i have to admit.in the first book GET REAL iwas very mad at salvador.he has the right to like anyone but how can he forget anna, his best friend who is willing to do anything for him.I was happy jess made the right desission by telling the truth .Although i love the twins i am on anna side.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hooray for Jessica!
This book wuz phat, finally jessica is getting to be friends with someone who is nice for a change, and she is trying out some things that she would never have done at her old school! READ THIS BOOK! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Another great Senior Year
This is the 11th book in the series and although it isn't one of the best, it isn't boring like some of the books can get. This is what is happening.

Conner's mum goes to rehab after drink driving and Conner's stepdad (Megan's dad) Gary comes to look after them. Conner is not thrilled but Megan is. It becomes like a contest for Megan's attention between Gary and Conner. When Megan tells Conner Gary's thinking of moving back to Sweet Valley Conner is suspicious and when he eavesdrops on a conversation he realises Gary has been lying to Megan.
Things are getting hot between Jessica and Will. Jessica is trying to deny her feelings for Will but it's not helping that her mum is charmed by him and Elizabeth is saying she should get together with him.
Tia's wondering if she should take the next step with Angel before he goes to Stanford. When she says that she's ready and Angel says hes not, she gets in a huff with him. Will they sort it out before he goes?

As you can see nothing major happening here, just a fun read. If you like this books you should check out the rest in the series.
Happy Reading :)

4-0 out of 5 stars Take Me On
Take Me On is a really good book. Basicaaly Conner's life is really messed up. Conner's mom has to go to re-hab for drinking and driving so Conner is stuck with his ex-step father for a month. He doesn't want help from anyone and wishes everyone would leave him alone. Meanwhile, everyone telling Jessica she should give Will a second chance. Take Me On is reallly exciting and has alot of conflict. Angel is also working really hard to get in the RA program. This book was really good, there was never a dull moment! I have read alot of Sweet Valley books, this wasn't the best one but it was deffinitly worth reading!

5-0 out of 5 stars Book 11 in the SVH Senior Year Series
After brooding in the background for the past several books, Conner McDermott's back in the spotlight in "Take Me On", the eleventh book in the SVH Senior Year series. In the last story ("Broken Angel"), Conner's alcoholic mom was in an accident and received a DWI. Now, as part of her punishment from the judge, she's forced to go to a rehab clinic in Minnesota for one month, leaving Conner and Megan in the care of Gary, Conner's former stepfather and Megan's biological father. That situation has its ups and downs. For starters, Megan's thrilled her father's back in her life after all these years, but Conner doesn't trust him an inch and constantly argues with the guy. But that's Conner's typical charm. He's never one to actually trust or get along with other people.

As for the Wakefield twins and their family, they're moving out of the Fowler's mansion. (Yay! I thought it was a little too weird having the Fowlers and Wakefields living together.) Their house was finally rebuilt after the destructive earthquake that demolished several homes and buildings in the finalized Sweet Valley High series. Jessica is still confused over her feelings for Will Simmons--and occasionally for Jeremy Aames, who seems to have dropped out of the picture entirely. And Liz is still mooning over Conner like a lovesick cow. No change there. (Yawn.)

Meanwhile, Angel Desmond is looking for a way to financially make it at Stanford University. He's applying for a Resident Assistant position there, which is the only way he can attend the college. Besides that bit of pressure, there's the possibility he may have to leave earlier if he is accepted, which puts a strain on his relationship with Tia, who doesn't really want him to go. She's afraid he'll leave her for a college woman, so she considers losing her virginity to him (which, in my opinion, is one of the worst possible reasons to have sex). I was actually very surprised to find out Angel and Tia weren't sexually active; after all, they've been together for months (or is it years? I don't remember.) Anyway, most guys wouldn't last a month or two, let alone a year or more. I guess I had just assumed they were already doing not, but I guess not.

"Take Me On" is one of the many compulsively-readable books in this series. Conner, apparently, has more family skeletons in his closet by the phone call he overhears of Gary's and the legal documents he finds in his mother's bedroom; Jess is falling in love all over again--but with the wrong guy (imo); and Angel is on his way to becoming a Stanford freshman. I can't wait to start the next book in this series: "Bad Girl".

5-0 out of 5 stars WOAH! SO COOL! THIS BOOK WAS GREAT!
I loved this book! It is even good compared to the other 372 sweet valley books I have read! The action between Conner and Liz was way intense duuuuuude I like could feel the tension building through the whole book making me feel eager to read the next! I thought that Tommy Knutson was way cool in this book he used to be such a country boy but now he is a real live party dude! I loved how he was so supportive of Amber Wattkins when she lost her mom's parrot!, he even went worm hunting with her little brother Joe Wattkins! I can definatly feel romance brewing between Amber and Tommy and hey, if it doesn't work out between them i'd love to have Tommy as a boyfriend! I don't know if Sweet Valley high is quite ready for the new girl Tamara Jenkins, she is like way to big cityish for a small town like sweet valley and I hate how she made Liz take care of her horse while she went shopping at the mall even though liz had a doctor's appointment. I personally hope that Tamara moves ASAP she is BIG trouble I can already tell. well not much else to say except I loooooooved it.

4-0 out of 5 stars It was ok
Take Me On dealed with Conner private life that hardly anyone at Sweet Valley High knew about how Conner was going though a hard time dealing with his mother drinking and she get put on probation for drunk driving about how much pain Conner felt and anger at his step dad for just taking over and doing whatever he wanted Conner didnt want his step dad there but dealed with it for Megan and Conner was being a loving brother and protecting his sister. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars As real as California Diaries! I couldn't believe it!!!!!!
This book (and #2 as well) is as real as the CD books! I honestly was shocked! I was a former BSC fan, but outgrew the books and was looking for something more mature. I've read California Diaries since they arrived in bookstores in 1997, but I have to admit, I missed reading about the BSC members and was wishfully thinking that there would be a mature series on them.

I got my wish! "Friends Forever" hardly foucuses on baby-sitting at all. Instead this book was about remeeting Kristy's long lost father. It shows that the chariters have grown up and are dealing with real life! I enjoyed Friends Forever #1 very much! Keep up the good work Ann M. Martin!

5-0 out of 5 stars Kristy grows up.....
I was really glad to see a change in Kristy in Friends Forever #1. While she IS a tomboy (so am I in fact) she should realize that IT IS OKAY to take care into your apperence.

The wedding was just wonderful. Personally, I think it's good for Kristy to have a stepmother like Zoey. She can care about her apperence, yet she still seems tough.

You don't see Kristy as an immature person as I kind of struck her in the old series. She takes charge in some parts of the book, yet she doesn't go overboard and get nasty and bossy.

Great job Ann! I think this new side of Kristy Thomas is terrific! I'll surely buy more of the books!

4-0 out of 5 stars Kristy in California

ZOE.Kristy goes to CA with sam and charlie. If
Kristy is your favorite baby-sitter,I recomend
this for you.Keep up the work Ann Martin!

1-0 out of 5 stars Very dull
I was expecting a much better series. Instead it was a book filled with nothing but Kristy. Which included a very dull story line too. Halfway through the book, I started skimming the rest quickly because I got so bored with the story.

I loved the old books - especially how every member was mentioned at least once. I don't like how each book only focuses on one or two members. Plus these new ones seem really shallow and poorly written.

4-0 out of 5 stars A good book
This was a pretty good book but I somtimes found it hard to concentrate on the plot. Kristy hasn't seen her Dad for along time so when he phones from california to say that he is getting married to a woman named Zoey and he wants Kristy, Charlie and Sam to fly out to California to be part of his wedding Kristy is shocked. At first when Kristy arrives in California and meets her dad (Patrick) and his soon to be wife she dosn't know what to say to either of them. Over the time that Kristy spends in California she becomes pretty good friends with Zoey and eventually decides that even though her father left when she was little she should give him another chance at being a father. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Kristy
Kristy and MAry Anne are my favorite characters, i haven't read this book but i read a review about how these books are no good i love them but i can't seem to find them anywhere i do wish the BSC would have a High School series they've been in 8th grade for over 10 yrs!

3-0 out of 5 stars Please shape up!
OK. When the Babysitter's Club series ended, I was upset, but then I thought, "Well, there's a new series with them and it's bound to be just as spectactular as the first." Well, after a about 5 books I stopped reading them. First of all, there was no plot. Second of all, I am sick of reading about how Mary Anne is mourning over her boyfriend. Third, I am so SICK of the fight between Stacey and Claudia. (Or did that end already???) I haven't read the book, but I'm sure it's just as bad as the others. I am a loyal fan of the babysitter's club. I have read all #131 books. But, no offense, Ann Martin, this series REALLY ...! I just stopped reading them becase I couldn't face the pain of seeing how all the characters have changed and Mary Anne's depressed (I HATE reading about depressed people) Kristy's all...like, wierd, and Claudia and Stacey are being the most stubborn people alive. I really liked how in the other series, Ann would divert the babysitter's problem with the babysitees problems. The other series was SOOOOOOOOO much better. It actually had apoint. They were a good business. This one is just flopping all over the place with no POINT WHATSOEVER! I want the series to shape up but i think it's a little too late for that.

3-0 out of 5 stars Okay, but not great
This book was okay. It talks about how Claudia starts going out with Alan Gray, this guy that the BSC doesn't like. The main drama in the book is that Kristy doesn't like him and tries to make him miserable. The book makes her look like a real snob, which is strange because she always accuses her rich neighbors of being snobby. (Ahem. Can we say hypocrite?)But, of course, at the end everything is wrapped up in a neat, little package. The author really needs to get some better situations fast or the series will for sure die! ( And to anyone who also reads any of the Sweet Valley books, Francine Pascal doesn't write them. Look at the title page and it will say written by: someone else! That drives me crazy when people think that Francine Pascal writes them.)

4-0 out of 5 stars Claudia + Alan=FOREVER!
I loved this book! I love how Ann has gotten other teen characters involved in the stories, not just the members of the BSC. They finally have friends outside the BSC it seems (like Claudia and Erica, Stacey and Rachel, Kristy and Cary, etc.). Anyway, This book was good because it let Claudia have a little romance in her life. I think they make a cute couple. Alan is still a joker, but he tries to hard to change for Claud, which makes her act different. Finally they get it together, and at the end, Alan asks Claudia to be his girlfriend. It was really sweet. It is so sad that they are going to graduate, especially when the series is getting so good, not just focusing on baby-sitting. Also, Claudia gets a job at the Stoneybrook Public Library, and that creates tension with her mom. Definitely a must read for the die hard BSC fan.

3-0 out of 5 stars OK
This book was OK, but totally not one of my faves. This book is about Claudia and Alan. Claudia really likes the way Alan is right now, but something is missing in him...could it be his humor? Is Alan trying too hard to impress Claudia? to find out, read this book! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Conner, a baby, Tee, a cheater and Liz has the right!
The book is a pretty good book but one: Tia needs to think twice and cheated on Liz, her best friend for Conner. Tee needs to step down b/c she dated one too many boys. She dated Angel, broke up, went w/ Trent, broke up and now this. I mean, really... Two: Conner is acting like a 2-year old. I mean, hello, he's in senior year, like they say, 12th grade! Three: Andy is dating w/ Six and they broke up, I think. U have to read the last chapeter. I didn't read the last chapter really well. However, are Six and Megan Sandborn friends? If they're not friends, I think they'll be good friends b/c they're "loud," if u know what I mean. :) I think Liz and Conner are a good couple anyway so why should Tee think she has the right to cheat everyone's b/f (Well, not everyone) behind their back except Andy. Tia used to be my favorite character but now, I think I like Sandy.

2-0 out of 5 stars I AM SO SICK OF NOTHING HAPPENING!
When I first started reading this new series, I loved it. But as the books kept coming, they seemed to get more and more boring. The only intereting story lines keep gtting screwed up then fixed then screwed up all over again. Why can't the author just get the couples togther and leave it. They can make more interesting storylines than this. Anyways, I'm so glad Andy finnally figured out what was going on with himsef. As for the whole Tia and Conner situation, what is Connor thinking? It's obvious she is nothing but a tramp. She needs to get over herself and leave Liz and Connor alone. As for Maria, she needs to keep her nose out of everyone else's bussiness. It's not her place. Also, the Connor drinking storyline just isn't gonna go... If they can't think of something better than I won't be reading these books anymore.

5-0 out of 5 stars Book 16 in SVHSY Series
With an eye-catching title like "Three Girls and a Guy," you know this sixteenth addition to the SVH Senior Year series will be enticing--and it is. As with every SVHSY book, the ending is just crammed with lots of drama, making you eager to read the next one as soon as possible. And "Three Girls..." certainly delivers, shock-wise. But I won't spoil the ending for you. Instead, here are the three main story lines in "Three Girls...":

1) Conner McDermott and Elizabeth Wakefield haven't been spending too much time together lately due to Liz's hectic schedule. There's that tension--as well as Conner's mother returning from rehab--that has him a nervous wreck. So he turns to the only person he feels he can talk to about this: Tia Ramirez. However, Liz thinks something's going on between these two, which is perceptive of her, because Tia's recent feelings for Conner have been anything but platonic, as you'll see by the end.

2) Ken Matthews gets more acquainted with his father's girlfriend, particularly since his dad doesn't have enough time even for her. This story line wasn't too interesting, though the ending was a little more so.

3) Andy Marsden's not too sure if he's cut out for a relationship with Six Hanson--or any relationship for that matter. The ending to this little dilemma will certainly have readers surprised, though I kind of suspected something a few books back. What I am surprised about is that such a topic would even be brought up in a Sweet Valley book. This is definitely not the same SV books I grew up on, which is a relief, in that this series is much more realistic.

Overall, "Three Girls and a Guy" is a great addition to the SVHSY series, with several good surprises at the end. Can't wait to read the next one: "Backstabber."

3-0 out of 5 stars OK..............MAYBE.
I think that the whole Andy thing is sick. But I have to say it made the whole book more interesting. Andy was my favorite charatcter untill the whole [homosexual] guy thing came up. Tia was O.K. but know she sounds like a [promiscuous]. I still don't understand why she broke up with Angel. As for Conner and Elizabeth, they make the book romantic. They are the only reson I read the books. I hope the next book is better.

5-0 out of 5 stars Way better than the rest!
This book was probably the best book in Svh senior year series. It's storylines were really awesome and the problems the characters faced made you think. At the end it really made me mad because I thought Liz and Conner were PERFECT for eachother... And now I basically think that Tia is a witch. She knew about Conner and Liz so she should'nt have done what she did... She should have stopped Conner. But It's also Conner's fault. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Yay!
Finally, Claudia gets a guy and not Stacey! Stacey has been acting pretty nasty and mean during these Friendship BSC books. Well, Claudia wants to tell Jeremy how she feels about him by slipping a note in his locker, bu it ends up in the wrong locker! Even though Claudia didn't except it to be this guy, there will still be love. Find out "who" by reading this book!

5-0 out of 5 stars Claudia gets her man...
Yes! Jeremy- the guy that ruined the friendship of Stacey and Claudia- is FINALLY out of the picture! In the last book he broke up with Stacey, and then in this book Claudia writes a note to him stating her true feelings and asking him to the dance, but she stuffs it into the wrong locker...

I won't tell you who the guy is, but it's definitely surprising... he showers Claud with gifts, if best friends with Kristy's "arch-enemy" and is the guy of Claudia's dreams...

A great book, and another good plot! I like this series a lot more than the baby-sitters club series.

5-0 out of 5 stars A VERY Surprising Twist of Fate
Claudia has the chance to get her guy and making up with herBFF, Stacey! But,while on her way to getting her man, somethingunexpected happen. Claudia wrote a letter for Jeremy meaning on "More than Friends", and slipped into Jeremy's locker, but it turns out it wasn't his locker! And the guy who reads it falls for Claudia! This incident brought Stacey and Claudia together as friends again, Jeremy left behind, and Kristy Very disgusted! I won't tell you who the mystery guy was, only let you read it and be surprised, but I will tell you two more things, Claudia realizes Jeremy wasn't the guy of her dreams, but her "mystery guy" maybe is what her heart is really for......

5-0 out of 5 stars This series rules!
I love this new series so much! I've got reviews up on some others in this series, and I speak the truth in all of them. I have read the original BSC books for so long. I am glad for this change. Ms. Martin, kudos to you for making this series much MUCH more realistic than the original BSC series! I'm glad that the time between books is reasonable, and I'm really hoping that the girls will go on to high school when they finish this eighth grade year. After all, they've only been in the eighth grade since book TEN of the original series! I think that's a little long! They've had a million summer vacations, and now, everything that they recall from eighth grade, well, you get the picture. Keep up the good work, Ann!

4-0 out of 5 stars find a new cover girl!
I am very happy with the Friends Forever books because they are more realistic than the old BSC. I have one complaint though. I am Japanese-American and I don't think the girl who is on the covers as Claudia is. I would guess she is Phillipina. It drives me crazy when people think all Asian-American people are interchangeable, like we won't notice. There *are* differences in the appearances of Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Phillipinas, etc., if only you would stop to look. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Not bad.
This book wasn't the greatest of all the books in the BSC Friends Forever Series. It wasn't that interesting, either. It doesn't talk about the other characters in the book, mostly about Kristy, Cary, and Ted.

Kristy's at the center of a big school controversy involving a cool teacher and some not-so-cool enemies. Kristy needs all the help she can get--even from Cary Retlin, her archrival.

Kristy and Cary hav been spending a lot of time tegother, since they're supposed to write each other's life stories for school. But the more Kristy knows about Cary, the less she understands him...until she sneaks a peak at his journal. Has Kristy gone too far?

5-0 out of 5 stars Kristy Power!
In this book (the fifth book in the Friends Forever series), Kristy is paired up with Cary Retlin, her arch-enemy, to write a biography about him. While going to his house to get facts about him from his family, she steps into his room and accidentally peeks into an open spiral on his desk...

Meanwhile, parents are crusading to take away a book list that the great new teacher at SMS has issued to his eighth grade students. Kristy, students from SMS, and parents of the students go to a hearing to get Ted (the teacher's) job back.

My thoughts: I really liked this book- and that people stood up for what they believed in to "fight the power", so to speak, and used their right to protest. It stayed true to the "Kristy" image, and there was a twist at the end. A fast-paced, altogether good book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Super!
I really enjoyed reading this book. At first when I saw this book at the book store I was a little ify about getting it because I usuasly don't like to read Kristy books. I don't like reading Kristy books because I really can't relate to her,I mean I don't like baseball and I just don't like Kristy's style.I mostly like reading books about Claudia and Stacey because they're more like me. But this book really changed my mind about Kristy. I thought that this book was going to be about baseball and tacky clothes. But boy was I wrong. In this book I saw the better side of Kristy, the side of Kristy that I like. In this book Kristy's english teacher gives them a assignment that is nothing but trouble. The second part of the assignment is a biography.Kristy's english teacher partners them up randomly and guess who Kristy gets stuck with, her archenemy Cary. But during the project Kristy founds that Cary isn't that bad and that she's actual starting to like him, until one day Kristy steps over the line and Cary doesn't want to speak to her anymore.I thought this book was really good but I was kind of hopping that Cary and Kristy would get together and become boyfriend and girlfriend. To see if Kristy and Cary get through the project and patch things up between them read this excellent book. ...

1-0 out of 5 stars I DIDNT LIKE THIS STUPID BOOK
why?because, its prejudiced.its about a teacher at kristys school because of some books he said they should read.some christian parents get upset over it and get the teacher fired.why i dont like it is because it makes christians look like a bunch of hyperactive freaks who hate anything secular.well,newsflash- we arent like that.im christian, and i like a lot of secular things, this book not included.the author should be more considerate of her readers.

4-0 out of 5 stars Better then the old series
The new series is better then the old series, with more realistic things happening. This book dooesn't say much about the other members of the BSC and focuses maining on Kristy. I liked that it didn't have much about babysitting in, as I think those bits are really boring. This book is good but not brillant.I would like to give it 3 1/2 stars if I could. ... Read more
