5-0 out of 5 stars Never Give up
Conner and Alanna break up for good this time. Conner tries to go back to liz but liz doesnt want to break up with Jeff. Later Conner and Liz kiss and liz is torn between to guys. j/k about the whole thing!

4-0 out of 5 stars Get Over Her
Conner is way to obsessed with Alanna. I think he'd be 100% better off without her and back with Liz because those to mad the series better. Alanna runs away to Chicago and Conner goes crazy trying to find her. Then being the loser she is Alanna gets mad cause he brings her parents and breaks up with him! Melissa gets back together with Will. Will those to ever stay broken up?

5-0 out of 5 stars I LUV this book!
This is one of the best SVHSY books, because it focuses on all the characters. Will invites Melissa to dinner, and she lies and says she has a family thing. Her secret plan was to actually meet Will and take him to dinner herself. Only when she came to pick him up at the zine office, he was kissing erika brooks! Meanwhile, Maria finds a bunch of flowers on her desk and figuires they are from Ken. So she buys him two tickets to see Friction. When he sees the tickets, he buys her earrings, so she buys him balloons! But Ken never sent her the flowers in the first place, because they agreed to keep valentines day low-key. They eventually find out and have a good laugh about it. Also, Liz is finally over Conner and totally ready for someone new. She starts getting secret admirer notes, but the author doesnt tell who it is. (well, actually I KNOW who it is. I think its Jeffrey French. Im pretty sure its him.) Jessica, on the other hand, shares a nice valentines day with jeremy. Tia has no boyfriend, but she got flowers thinking they were from trent, but they were really from jessica, because jessica wanted to get tia and trent back together. Andy thinks Dave does not want to be seen in public with him when he sees him in the park, but Dave apologizes and they make up.Basicly, it's a great love story!

5-0 out of 5 stars Romantic (or not) Day!
This book was revloving around one thing- Valentine's day and how everyone takes it. I was so glad to see Liz FINALLY move on with the whole-Conner-thing. She deserves better treatment! I wasn't really sure who it was-Liz's secret admirer is a BIG surprise to me! I'm glad Jessica and Jeremy are doing so well. I think Jade and Evan are over-analyzing everything, and Ken and Maria's day was really funny-but kinda predictable. Andy's day is pretty good-he sees Dave again. Conner and Alanna--unnnmmmm...

5-0 out of 5 stars Be Mine!
This was one of the best Sweet Valley Senior Year books. It was mainly about Liz and gets a secret admirer. It sorta left you hanging in the end, but i think it is jeffrey because in one of the future SVSY books the description says jeffrey is elizabeth's boyfriend now. It was also about the will/erika saga and how melissa catches them kissing. Anyway it was full of suspense and stuff and was REALLY good.

5-0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable
I thought that this was a good book. This book focuses on Valentine's Day, and all the crazy stuff that can happen on Valentine's. Maria and Ken's Valentine Day is kind of funny. I have to say that I'm so glad that this book finally mentions Elizabeth. Elizabeth has a secret valentine. I love how the author leaves a cliffhanger in this book, makes it a lot more interesting. I can't wait to read the next book to find out who was sending Elizabeth those notes. Andy and Dave are also mentioned in this book, I hope that Dave goes through with his promise. Will and Melissa's storyline is interesting. I really don't have any sympathy for Melissa, and I don't know why Will just doesn't remain single. I would also like to see Melissa's friends not follow her around like she's there leader.

5-0 out of 5 stars HOTTT
This book was great. It included a little about everyone's love life plus there was alot of suspense in the end in terms of who is elizabeth's secret admirer.Like evryone else,Ithink it's Todd 2 cause she was talking about him in the start of the book and they have to get together to set the pace with svu.I really want to read the next book and see who it is.Francine is at her best in this 1! ... The summer of the first boyfriend

That's what Alice's father calls the summer before Alice starts junior high. And because Pamela's cousin from New Jersey says starting seventh grade without a boyfriend is the worst thing that can happen to a girl (even worse than not having pierced ears or a leather skirt), Alice is greatful that she's got Patrick.

The trouble is, Patrick the boyfriend is a lot more complicated than Patrick the friend. What's an appropriate present for Alice to give Patrick for his birthday? What should she do if Patrick wants to kiss her and she hasn't just brushed her teeth? Alice really likes Patrick, but sometimes she thinkgs life would be a lot simpler if they were still just friends. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars The Summer of the First Boyfriend
This is an overall sweet book. As the second book in the excellent Alice McKinley series, ALICE IN RAPTURE, SORT OF picks up where the first book left off. In other words it chronicles Alice through her summer vacation after 6th grade, the summer that her father dubs the "summer of the first boyfriend." This was the first Alice book that I read (I did so at a book store while I was in New York, because I had nothing else to do), and I enjoyed it emmensly. I like it mostly because it's honest.

After Alice and Patrick get together everything isn't teriffic. Interesting, yes, but way more complicated than the way things were in the beginning, when they were just friends. Alice has to worry about what she eats (so that Patrick won't get any surprises when he kisses her), what an appropriate birthday present for a boyfriend is (what is Lucite, anyway??), and, in the end, whether or not being more than friends is worth all the strife (something I myself think about daily -- blech).

Recommended for all people who enjoy reading realistic books about girls growing up, and especially for anyone who has read and ejoyed any of the other Alice McKinley books.

5-0 out of 5 stars This book was about a girl who faces real life problems.
This was an awesome book! I recomend other people to read it or have someone read it to them. It tells about how a pre-teen deals with problems in funny and strange, yet serious ways. It's funny parts include Alice's friend Pamela loosing her swim suit top at the beach, having Pamela's boyfriend find her up lift spandex ahh bra and Alice leaving her purse in the car on a date. A serious part was when Alice wanted to break up with her boyfriend and be "Special Friends." If you read this I hope you enjoy it alot

5-0 out of 5 stars ANOTHER GREAT READ!!!
This is, yet another, great book by Phylis Reynolds Naylor! I relate to Alice a lot with her nervousness when it comes to kissing and all her feelings and situations. The characters tossed around a bit in the last book, start coming to life a little more, but we still don't know a lot about them. This story is chock-ful of emotions, new and not so new, and I highly recommend it.

BLESSED BE!!

5-0 out of 5 stars AMAZING SERIES

4-0 out of 5 stars Touch and Go
I decided to give this book 4 stars because even though it wasn't one of the best it was still a sweet valley senior year book, which are the best series. Here's what happened!!!

Conner tries to get Alanna back after Alanna ran out of his house in book #41 He's Back. Alanna at first won't listen to him. Conner asked Tia to talk 2 her. So tia goes over to Alanna house even though she hates Alanna. One of my favorites parts is when Tia talks 2 alanna and makes her fell like an indiot. I hate alanna so much. why does conner think she's good for him when to every1 else she's obviously not? Liz is way better for him. they really should take alanna out of the series. anywaz... back to the story. they get back 2 gether. alanna starts 2 wonder after hearing a AA speaker talk bout how its good 2 wait a full year after rehab 2 date some1, if thats true. If any1 who reads this really does like alanna or thinks shes good for conner rite a revies telling me please!

Melissa gets really close to Aaron. Since Aaron won't make the 1st move melissa decides 2 kiss him. he pushes her a way. melissa tells will that aaron came on to her. wait till u see how that 1 blows up in her face.

THen there is some andy and dave stuff but its not really that intresting.

This book isn't must have but if u read the svhsy series then this book is 1 u should read! Hope i helped u!

2-0 out of 5 stars Boring
This book was so boring. It seems like the author is focusing more on Conner and Alanna lately than Elizabeth or Jessica. I want to read more about both twins. This book mostly focuses on Alanna and her problems. I think that Alanna is boring and she has low self-esteem, it just makes it hard to read. Conner and Alanna fight then get back together, then fight some more, basically you get the idea. Then there was Andy, his storyline was so predictable in this book, he does stand-up comedy and basically even this storyline was boring. The only part I found interesting was the Melissa/Aaron/Will storyline, and even that part doesn't get interesting until near the end of the book. I also agree with the other reviewer about the models that they use for the cover of these books, the models don't match the character descriptions in these books.

5-0 out of 5 stars Touch and Go
I defend Alanna too (see review by Christiana Davis)! Everyone hates her because she "stole" Conner!?! Okay, Conner has a mind of his own. He can do what he wants. Alanna's actually a pretty cool character. She goes through a lot, but all most people can say is that she's an alcoholic who needs to get a life and leave Conner and Liz alone. Alanna's parents annoy me. I don't know how she can put up with them. In this book, Alanna meets Sandy Bieche, a recovering alcoholic (i think). Alanna is worried that she and Conner should not be together since they're recovering alcoholic. Interesting storyline.

Also in this book Andy decides to do Standup comedy at a club. The first time he goes, he bombs, but the second time he did awesome. Alot of the stuff he said was really funny.

Okay, now the Will/Melissa/Aaron/Cherie plot. I like this plot, and i especially like what happened at the end of the book. Melissa sure puts a lot of her time and energy into something like trying to steal Aaron from Cherie.

Overall, a good book. If you like/love Liz and Conner as a couple, and can't stand Alanna then maybe this isn't the book for you.

3-0 out of 5 stars STUPID
I really don't like Conner and Alanna together. First of all, he's in love with Liz. Second of all, Alanna is a deranged alcoholic who needs to get a life. Third of all, it wa LIZ who saved Conner's life, LIZ LIZ LIZ! Alanna would never save anyone but herself and she can't even do that. Yes, she has alcoholic parents, but so do I and I don't go around drinking booze to make my life better and clinging to people or in this case, pushing someone away! She's also a compulsive liar, too. About Melissa, Will and Aaron - please. It is so old. Melissa and Will belong together (evil beings they are) so just let them be! Andy is a stud! (had to say that). Oh yeah, to lalenalefay , I'm sorry but it mentions Trent to be a bald African-American in the 4th or 5th book! I remember Jeremy clearly describing his best friend in one of those. So no, he does not have long hair. And Tia doesn't only go for black guys. She used to have a crush on Josh Radinsky and she had a "thing" for Conner, the beginning of many probs in his and Liz's relationship! Maybe you should reread the books again, okay? Pleasant reading, all! And LIZ AND CONNER FOREVER! That's all I'm gonna say...

4-0 out of 5 stars Touch and Go
Ok I wasn't expecting much from this book as it was obviously just one of those books to fill in the series and it didn't really offer much to make me think otherwise.

The big storyline in here is the fact that Alanna is thinking that recovering alcoholics (like her and Conner) should not be together after various speakers at A.A. meetings talk against early relationships in the first few years of sobriety. And also after Alanna makes a new friend in her sponsor, who she regards as a big sister type, who also seems to agree that newly sober people should not jump into relationships. Alanna lies about Conner and freaks out that her sponsor will find out the truth and hate her.
Also in this book we have Andy, who is persuaded by Dave to try his hand performing at a local comedy club. Andy has all this great material but it's about his freinds and he's worried he'll offend them.
We also have the oh-so-charming Melissa (not) who is trying to get revenge on her boyfriend Will and her best friend Cherie by trying to get Aaron to kiss her. She accidentally on purpose tries to make him flunk his English test so he still needs tutoring to raise his average and she can spend more time with him. But does it all backfire on Melissa?

This really doesn't offer much new things to the series. It's still worth a read though for all SVHSY fans. Hopefully things will pick up in the next books.
Happy Reading :) ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Mary Anne comes out of her shell!
This was a great book! This book not only showed that Mary Anne didn't NEED to depend on Logan anymore, but it also brought up the fact that Mary Anne is growing up. Coming out of her shell. As Dawn said: "Your busting loose Mary Anne!" Logan was too controling and too sexest. Also how DARE he make fun of Mary Anne after she offered him countless times that she wanted to remain friends with him. Oh well, it's Logan's loss. He just missed out on a great friend, Mary Anne Spier.

I'm counting the days until #4! Great new series Ann M. Martin!

5-0 out of 5 stars Friends Forever rocks!
I really like this series better than the Baby-sitters' Club. This is more realistic and true to heart.

I'm SO GLAD Mary Anne dumped Logan. They were not a match made in heaven I'll tell you that! I agree with the other reviewers: Logan got way to controling. It's a shame that he actually dissed Mary Anne later on in the book! I whould have smacked him! (Allthough Mary Anne is too polite for that) I'm ELATED Ann M. Martin made Mary Anne stick to her guns. She didn't give in to Logan and get back together with him No ment NO. I won't spoil the ending, but you have got to read this book!

One more thing: I'm happy Mary Anne is moving on away from the fire. She's a very strong person! FRIENDS FOREVER RULEZ! CAN'T WAIT FOR #4 PEOPLE!

5-0 out of 5 stars Mary Anne Breaks Up With Logan
Mary Anne breaks up with Logan (for good this time)! The way she went about it wasn't that great, in my opinion (she made poor Logan cry), but what she did was totally right. (It was the SAME reason again- he was smothering her and making all the decisions.)

Anyhow- the main points of the book are:

1) she breaks up with Logan
2) she starts getting over the fire a little bit
3) her family starts to convert the barn to a new house
4) 2(!) boys ask her out, not including Logan
5) much of the grade excludes her
6) and she decides to be her own self!

All in all- a HUGE turning point in the BSC, and a WONDERFUL book!

5-0 out of 5 stars ITS ABOUT TIME!
This was an excellent book, i really enjoyed reading it. It was about time mary anne ditched logan and became her own person, i think mary anne is the best, i can really identify with the way she is and how she feels about logan. Still it will be a bit sad to see the best bsc couple so far dissapear i am sure the future will give mary anne great opportunities and a very interesting life.

5-0 out of 5 stars A View to the New Mary Anne
When I was 8 i've been reading bsc books for the longest. Eventually it became dull and unrealistic about real middle school life. Mary Anne finally let go of Logan. Logan was too overprotective and thinks he's always right. I'm glad Mary Anne got rid of him and finding herself. They were an unlikely couple to began with. The story was very realistic and i felt for Mary Anne , and even Logan ( He may be protective, but his feelings were genuinely hurt as well) Ann M Martin gain back a fan after I read this book. If your shy and need to get rid of smothering boyfriend, this is the book for you. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars this is one of the best svh senior year books!
I loved this book, it is one of my favorite sweet valley senior year books! I love how Trent is going out of his way to make sure Tia has the best prom ever, its so sweet! I recommend this book to all sweet valley high fans!

5-0 out of 5 stars This book's cool as!!!
Prom Night is 1 of the best SVH books. Its about all the stresses of the prom that Andy, Dave, Jess, Jeremy, Liz, Jeff, Tia and Trent and anyone else you can think of, have. Liz and Jeff keep fighting about college and about Jeff changing. Andy and Dave fight as well because Dave thinks Andy is embarrassed of him. Trent is trying to make Tias night perfect, but ends up getting it all wrong ! Anyway this book is great and Conner and Liz fans will like it esp.

5-0 out of 5 stars AMAZING BOOK!!
And I am not kidding, this is the best svhsy book yet! It has EVERYTHING. If you have not read this book then read it!!(unless u dont like this series then dont bother)

it started out kinda slow but it got good around the part trent rented the horse drawn carriage(attention, spoilers) i found the thing with Jeff and Liz a little boring and Jeff really got on my nerves, like why couldnt he admit he got rejected from NYU? Andy and Dave are soo cute! and I found it hilarious how Tia's prom went with all the surprises from Trent. Oh and the ending is the BEST with Liz and Conner, I thought it would never happen again, I cant wait to read the next book!!:D

a must read!

3-0 out of 5 stars Boring Prom
I have to agree that this book was somewhat better than the rest, but I didn't like it enough to give it 5 stars. First this book was about the senior prom, so why did it focus more on Tia and Trent? I think that the author should have included all the characters, I hate to say it but I think that the author has gotten lazy with this series. There was hardly any excitment in this book, and it was mostly kind of depressing because almost all the couples were fighting. There should have been more fun in this book. I can't believe the ideas that Trent came up with to suprise Tia with, and I can't believe what Tia did at the prom. Liz and Jeff are fighting a lot in this book, and I thought that they were mostly a boring couple anyway. I have to admit the ending was quite a surprise, I didn't see that one coming, I hope that a certain brooding character treats the blonde twin better this time.

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT!
Lately, the Sweet Valley Senior Year books haven't been that good, but this one was great! It's about Liz and Jeff arguing with eachother all through the book and in the end they break up on prom night! Yay! Then something happens that will make all Liz and Conner fans happy! Trent is trying to make prom memorable for Tia. He gets the rules changed so they can be king and queen, makes reservations at a fancy restaurant, rents a horse and carriage, and buys tia a wreath for her hair instead of a wrist corsage. But the problem is Tia doesn't want to be Prom Queen, she wants to go to Maria's and hang out with her friends before the prom instead of a restaurant, she wants to ride to the prom in a limo with all her friends, and she wants a wrist corsage. Everything works out in the end though. Andy thinks Dave is ashamed of him and doesn't want to go to Prom with him so they get in an argument. Andy takes Six instead but Dave shows up. I thought it was funny when Dave saw Andy kissing Six on the lips (it was an accident) and Dave gets all jealous and Andy says something about their fight scaring him straight. You just have to read it. That was basically the main storylines. It was SUCH a good book and SO MUCH BETTER than the last about 10 have been. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Get Real in Sweet Valley Jr. High
IN this book, these two twins, Jessica and Elizabeth get transferred from their original high school, Sweet Valley Middle School. They have two different point of views of their new high school, one feeling she will love new friends and cute boys. The other twin, Elizabeth does not get the same kind of message. They have to deal with not being in any of the same classes with each other, finding their way to the right classes, meeting new people, and the realization that they might not fit in. The story shows all the different points of view from the different characters from the story and it just pulls you into this seemingly real life of an average preteen or teenager. This is a great book to read as well as the other books in this series, let alone all the series of books you can find about these Sweet Valley Twins. Don't ignore this book if you pass by it... pick it up and READ IT!

5-0 out of 5 stars Jr. high is so cool!
Jr. high is so cool! You MUSTTTTTTTTTT read this book before you even start your Middle School! I've only read book 1 & 2, but they are so fantastic, that I can't even put them down through dinners!Elizabeth is my favourite character, and I thought Salvador del Valle is pretty nice too. I feel pretty sorry for Jessica about having lunch with just her dorky locker partner, Ronald. Luckily, Lizzie got a totally cute-looking guy for locker partner, and handsome Salvador del Valle ( who's crush on Liz ) and Anna Wang ( a very nice Asian girl ) for friends. Jessica want to be in the cool crowd, but didn't got a chance. When Lacey ( from the cool crowd )thinks that having a boyfriend ( which is her brother ) old enough to drive is cool, and¡@ invite her to the cool crowd! Will Jess stick to the story and go to the cool crowd peacfully!? Read for yourself!

4-0 out of 5 stars You have to read this before you go to jr. high!
This book you will love if you are a type of girl that likes to read about things that might happen in real life. This book is about twins that used to go to the same school, but after a new jr.high they are split up to go to different jr.highs. People at their old school thought that it was weird to dress the same so when they find out that they are going to different schools they get the same outfits.I'm not going to tell you the rest of the book because I would like you to read this book, but I can tell you if you are a girl and you're in 6th or 7th grade you will love this book.
Have fun reading this Sweet valley jr. high Get Real. I mean Get real and read this book!

5-0 out of 5 stars THE BEST IN THE SERIES
It was the best book i read in the series. It is about how Liz is miserable and Jessica is very hapy (they are both going to a new school). Once school starts, the twins switch moods, and Liz makes great new friends but Jessica has to eat lunch with her nerdy locker partner!!!! SHE HATES IT THERE!!! Anyways it is a fun, cool book and I hope you buy it, you really should.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Nice Start...
Sweet Valley Junior High is nothing the twins had ever dreamed of. Elizabeth, with her fears of a new school and Jessica, with her over-confidence of maintaining her popularity at junior high. There are a lot of firsts in this book. And why not? Since this is the first book in a (great) new Sweet Valley series, it's nice to know some new people for a change. Elizabeth skips class with Anna Wang to buy her new friend some bras when Anna gets humiliated by their gym teacher, who's a bit on the crazy side (Miss Scarlett), for not wearing a sports bra to gym class. Jessica tries to hang out with the "cool" people and fails miserably. There are a lot of changes for the Sweet Valley twins. But some things just never change. Lila's turning over a new leaf in Hawaii doesn't last long and she lets Jessica down again. She makes Jess wait for over an hour at a cinema while she's having fun with the Double E's (Ashlee, Maree & Courtnee) at another theater. Elizabeth's new friend, Salvador, develops a major crush on her and even stands Anna up to go to a concert with Elizabeth. Anna finds out that very night and vents her anger at both of them although Salvador was to blame since Liz didn't know anything about Anna & Salvador's usual Saturday night. Jessica gets teased by people for wearing a purple blanket (as Salvador puts it) on the first day of school. I was actually glad she was teased. Jessica, not being in the cool crowd is nice, in a way. All in all, this a interesting intro to the new series. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars it takes two
I thought that this book was pretty good... melissa and will belong together in my opinion. i really don't like melissa, but i always end up feeling sorry for her when she is down. jessica has every right to be mad at her brother and sister.. she planned everything and didn't get any credit. elizabeth is annoying in this book, she is usually my fav twin, but when she is with jeffrey she is not herself. it is ok to be in love but not to where u shut you supposed best friend and twin out... and jeff ain't all that..

5-0 out of 5 stars Slightly Predictible with a Twist
This book is basically composed of two storylines: Jessica and Elizabeth, and Will and Melissa. But the sub-storylines are what's really interesting. Will and Melissa broke up after Melissa came onto Aaron, and although both Melissa and Will want each other back, neither is really ready to admit it.
Will gets accepted to NYU; Melissa to Smith College. However, after a failed symposium, Melissa decides Smith isn't right for her after all. Will puts off mailing his acceptance letter to NYU and finally decides not to go. Do Will and Melissa get back together? Read the book to find out!
Meanwhile, Jessica does all the work to plan her parent's 25th anniversiarry dinner, and Elizabeth and Steven get all the credit. Jessica has been feeling a little low lately. She's convinced that no one in her family appreciates her--even Steven calls her 'Airhead' and Elizabeth 'Brain.' Jessica wants people to respect her more, and realize she's not an airhead. Liz is too wrapped up in 'Jeffy-poo' [Jess's quote] to be of any use, and this storyline really explodes when, at the dinner, instead of comforting Jessica, Liz goes to take a call from Jeff.
I think that the twin's storyline was more interesting than the Liss/Will storyline. Melissa and Will are pretty predicatable, but what happens to Melissa in this book and the Jess/Liz story is a 'twist' on predictable.

3-0 out of 5 stars Repeated Storylines
Well this book is mostly about Melissa and Will, and bascially it's just a recycled storyline. Melissa and Will break up, try to get even with each other, etc. In other words it was boring. It was interesting how Melissa got a taste of her own medicene from her so called friends. Then Evan wants to go to Berkley really badly, and he basically treats Tia poorly, and so does Jade and Elizabeth. I would have liked to seen an apology from them. I was surprised that the twins were actually mentioned in this book. Jessica basically acts like the responsible one, and Elizabeth is living in her own world. I don't like how Elizabeth treated Jessica at all, I hope that Jessica gets the recognition that she deserves. Elizabeth annoyed me in this book. Why is it that when Liz finally gets a boyfriend, that she always seems to act like a ditz and cares only about herself? I thought that she was suppose to be smart and caring. I kind of wish that the author started the college series after she finished this series. It would have been interesting to follow Jessica, Liz, Tia, Andy, Evan, Conner, etc. through their college experience. I also wonder what happened to Winston, Todd, and all the others.

4-0 out of 5 stars Urrgggg!
Okay am I the only one that's tired of Will & Melissa? Why keep breaking them up if they keep getting back together? Sure, when you think about it they're perfect for each other but Melissa's such a witch and no wonder Will keeps cheating on her. And what happened to Liz? All boyfriend crazy? That's more Jessica than Liz. I never liked Jeffery to begin with when they were first dating and I don't like him and how Elizabeth is acting. I'm tired of all these Alanna story lines, all she does is drink and she's going to pull Conner down with her. Do you ever wonder what happened to Winston and the gang from the old SVH books? They just disappered and new characters have taken their place its irritating....though I do like the Andy, Tia, Conner and Evan. And they should get their stories straight, Maria just moved back last year from New York, she hasn't been at SVH the whole time, Jade should be a junior not a senior and I thought she led a really sheltered life. If you've read all the other books before senior year then nothing makes sense! But over all this book isn't that great, it's the same story we've been reading since Will and Melissa broke up the first time!

5-0 out of 5 stars I loved this book!
I bought this book as soon as it came out because I couldn't wait to see what happened between Melissa and Will. In Best of Enemies, Melissa's friends ditched her when she really needed them and Will cheated on her. So in Never Give Up, He's Back, and Touch and Go, Melissa worked out a convoluted revenge plan because she was so mad at Will and Cherie. This book is about the results of her twisted plan.

Then there are two subplots: The first one is about how Evan really, really wanted to go to Berkley for college but only made the waiting list. Tia was accepted to Berkley and several other colleges as well. Naturally that would cause some drama. The second subplot is about how Jessica and Elizabeth's parent's anniversary is coming up and Elizabeth is so wrapped up with her boyfriend, Jeff, that she forgot all about it and doesn't really care, even though she's the "responsible" twin. Jessica is stuck planning everything and Elizabeth gets all the credit because everyone assumes that Jessica is too much of an airhead to plan an anniversary dinner for her parents.

I highly reccommend this book because it lets you find out how everyone reacted to Melissa's plan and because it was a very engaging and interesting book. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Well Written Kids' Story
Mermaids Don't Run Track is a good book for 3-5th graders. The characters are action oriented from the first page, and immediately face two interesting mysteries concerning the camp director and the track coach. The Bailey School kids suspect one is a werewolf and the other a mermaid. The art work is also very good and adds detail and interest to the story. The book is approximately 7,000 words long.

A similar book for the same age group which I would recommend is "Abby and the bicycle caper."

4-0 out of 5 stars Liked how Eddie was always trying to be the big shot.

2-0 out of 5 stars THIS is SWEET VALLEY? Hmm...Are you SURE?
What has happened? Elizabeth WAS a gentle girl who could be trusted and cared about everyone. But now she's suddenly a selfish brat? WHY? The twins have always been a TEAM...no matter what! Now Elizabeth is so wrapped up in Conner McDermott that she's abandoned Jessica! All for a guy who is too immature to be ANYONE'S boyfriend. Jessica's too fiesty and full of life to let some little priss like Melissa mess around with her. Well, that is, usually. But I might add, WHY IS EVERYONE AT SVH TAKING MELISSA AND WILL'S SIDE, ANYWAY - TWO EL CARRO PUNKS THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW - INSTEAD OF DEFENDING JESSICA, WHO THEY GREW UP WITH? Duh! Jessica may be having a Post Traumatic Stress type of reaction because she's endured more than she can cope with (she HAS been through an awful lot). It's a temporary condition, and can happen to anyone, even Jessica Wakefield. She will recover. When she does, Melissa and fan club will wish they'd been among the El Carro students who were sent to Big Messa, instead of Sweet Valley! I can't wait for Jess to get her revenge! Thankfully, among the newbies, there's Tia and Angel, a happy, stable and caring couple who I like and want to read more about. But I absolutely HATE most of the others. ESPECIALLY Melissa! PLEASE let's get back to SV. I want some of my old favorites like Winston featured. What are all of these lists for? Jessica Wakefield is actually making lists of reasons why she has no life? NOT her style. It's her style to BE living. I want Liz back to herself and back with TODD. I want Jess back to herself and back with Sam Woodruff. I don't care if he IS "dead." Bring him back. Ditto Olivia Davidson and a big reunion with Ken Matthews. I know my wants aren't realistic, but this is FICTION; it's not realistic, anyway! This book is better than the first one, though. At least Elizabeth doesn't compare being in love with Conner to having PMS like she did in book one (eeewww)!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Book...
If you read Can't Stay Away (SVH Senior Year #1) then this book is a must-have. The whole Conner-Elizabeth saga continues with Maria, Elizabeth's best friend, added into the mix. Jessica pays the price for her relationship with Will. Will anybody really believe the rumors flying around with her? Will her friends stick by her when she needs them most? And will Liz ever get over Conner? If you want to know the answers to these questions, plus more, then you've definitely got to read Say It To My Face. I really loved it, and I hope you will too. Hope I've helped. C ya!!

5-0 out of 5 stars AWESOME BOOK!
I THINK THAT THIS BOOK WAS VERY GOOD. EVEN THOUGH THAT MELISSA WAS SO MEAN TO JESSICA, THOUHGT THAT THE PLOT WAS VERY GOOD.

4-0 out of 5 stars Shaking my head in disbelief!
What? Has Sweet Valley been invaded by aliens?
Maybe. All of a sudden Liz has turned into a green-eyed monster concerning Conner. Conner who's trying to avoid Liz and his feelings for her is giving his oh so romantic attention to Maria. Liz who's fighting with her good girl/ bad girl self is telling Maria Conner is bad news-just so she can snuggle up too him and not to mention ditching school meetings and lying!

Meanwhile Jessica with no one to back her up against the horrible slurs being thrown at her like slime(what with Lila and Amy having joined forces with the queens of El Carro and practically builing devotion altars to the all powerful, tottally evil supreme queen,Melissa) is a pale shadow of the Jessica we know and love. Melissa will do anything to poision everyone's mind against Jessica because of Will's ( her boyfriend/obsession) infatuation with the blonde.
Did Jessica and Elizabeth bonk their heads on something during the Earthquake? This is like Freaky Friday what with them switching personalites (Elizabeth going from shy, pacifst who try's not to stir up trouble to party freak and Jessica becoming Liz like). Sweet Valley has never been so Crazy!

5-0 out of 5 stars say it to my face
The senior year series is a lot different from the sweet valley high series, especially in this book. Liz is acting more like a normal person in this series, which is good. In Sweet Valley High, she was too perfect and boring to be believable. I don't like the change in Jess, though. She obviously needed SOME change, in Sweet Valley High she was too superficial and shallow. But she's changed too much. Why is she letting Melissa push her around like that??? But even though I don't like the way Jessica's letting Melissa push her around, it is a great book and it is actually realistic (unlike sweet valley high.) But, best of all, later in the series then the rumors about Jessica fade and she begins to act more like her old self, but not so much that it's not believable. I loved this book!!!! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Meagan's Review
Yes I did like this book because it's by one of my favorite authors and I have almost read every single book in the series.
The book was about this girl called Jessi who has just moved into a new neighborhood.Jessi Jessi has this really great group of friends called the Baby Sitters Club.Jessi gets a sitting job for this deaf boy called Matt.Matt uses sign language instead of lip reading.Jessi is going to be in a ballet show called Coppelia and Matt's mom has been making arrangements so that the 8 kids in Matt's class can go see Coppelia.Theyhave arranged for Haley to be the narrator and for Matt and Haley's mom to stand up on the stage and sign everything that Haley says so that Matt isn't left out. After the show Jessi finds out that Adle came to watch the show.Jessi's cousin Keshia is from Okley, New Jersey came to see Jessi be Swandelia. To celebrate the show being a success everybody who knows Jessi went to a restraunt to have ice cream.
Anybody will like this book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Care for the deaf
A very touching and realistic story. It features a young boy named Matt who was born deaf and this family, the Braddocks, move into Stoneybrook. Putting Jessi as the main character in this Babysitter Club book is very interesting because the deaf cannot hear music and therefore, none of them had exactly went to watch a musical or a ballet concert. Jessi's a ballerina and she feels especially sympathetic towards the deaf in that very aspect.
This story touches on the sensitive areas of a deaf person's life, about being ridiculed by others, looked down and thought of as weird. However, the babysitters were intrigued by Sign Language and the other kids int he neighbourhood begin to slowly accept Matt and were fascinated with sign language.
We also find out more about the deaf in this book, we learn some sign language, we learn that it is crucial that the deaf are kept well away from busy roads as they cannot hear cars approaching. We also find out how some families are being inconsiderate in not bothering to take up sign language to communicate with their deaf family member and instead, expect him/her to lip-read instead. Lip reading is extremely difficult.
The story has a happy ending and reveals what Jessi does to make the children in the school for the deaf happy. A must-read.

4-0 out of 5 stars good
i'm taking ASL in school and i was looking on my books shelf and found this book and i decided to re-read it.its really good.the only thing that bugs me is that on the cover jessie is using see sign when the book said it was ASL.it doesn't matter to much though.it is a really good book and shows how people who may seem diffrent at first glance can have a lot ion common with you.i hope you enjoy it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Awesome...
This book was great! Jessi gets the baby sitting job of watching a little deaf boy, Matt. She learns sign language (his "secret language) and gets to know him better. She even explains to the neighborhood kids that he's not weird, he's cool, because he's got his own language. Pretty soon ,all the kids learn something in sign language, and he has plently offriends. I really enjoyed this book, and I'm sure anyone else would too. :] ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Everything Changes!!!!!
I think this is a wonderful realistic book! I'm glad that there were changes in the BSC members lives because things can't stay the same in life forever. The plots in the BSC books were getting old and boring! But now we can read about new teenage changes about the same chariters in The Baby-sitters' Club: Friends Forever! Great job Ann! Kristy's Big News is sure to be a hit as well!

5-0 out of 5 stars Wow..........that's all I can say is WOW!!!!!
I loved this book! It was so much more realistic then the Baby-sitters' Club! There were four different teens so there are four different stories!

Mary Anne is still coming to terms that her house and all her things burned down.

Stacey has to struggle with the fact that her father suddenily dissoproves of her older boyfriend, plus the fact that her father and his girlfriend's relationship has become VERY serious.

I like these books because instead of saying "This is sooooo boring!" you say "Yeah I can relate to that!"

I'm happy that this isn't just about the BSC! You'll deafnitely see all different kinds of plots in this new series.

This is the stuff teens can relate to! Everything Changes! Thanks Ann!

5-0 out of 5 stars EVERYTHING changes!
Baby-sitters Friends Forever is a great series! New things are happening with every single one of the baby-sitters (the author brought the members of the club down to the original four people), and problems that they experience are getting to be more teenage, not just problems with baby-sitting charges. Here's what's happening with ther fantastic four:

Kristy: is worrying big time about what is going to happen with the Baby-sitters Club as they get older and afraid that she and all her friends will drift apart in high school.

Mary Anne: is getting over the fire a little, and thinking about being her own person, not just the person her dad or Logan want her to be. She starts to think that Logan is smothering her.

Claudia: is on a trip to a "deserted" island with her family, and gets back to the simple life and finds that she likes it a lot.

Stacey: is having difficulties with her father- he doesn't like Ethan and thinks that Stacey is seeing too much of him, and he is thinking about moving in with his girlfriend who he has been seeing for a long time. Stacey doesn't like the idea of that.

This is a great book, and seems to focus on the situations that teenagers face when they start to head out of middle school and start to head into high school. A wonderful, realistic book.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Start to a Wonderful Series
I'm a die-hard Baby-sitters Club fan, and this is must read. It's important because it's the beginning of the end of the Baby-sitters Club.

In this one four of the remaining members of the club leave, which brings the level down to the original four members. Kristy and Abby go as CITs to camp, Claudia and her family go to an island, Stacey goes to Manhattan, where she has problems with her dad and his girlfriend, and Mary Anne stays in Stoneybrook with her family, and she tries to cope with the fire and Logan who is treating her like she can't take care of herself.

This is a wonderful, and very realistic book that chronicles what happens to four very different teenage girls. A great book, by a great author! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A must read for all SVJH fans!
I absolutely LOVED this book and think you will, too. Blue wasintroduced in the last book, but this tells a lot about him. Blue is a"mellow" type that lives with his bro, Leaf, but they just recently got a new social worker, and she didn't like the way Blue handled schoolwork. So, since Blue has to straighten up, he acts different and makes Elizabeth mad, but it comes out great at the end. Sorry, I won't tell any more, you have to buy the book, but I strongly recommend it to any of you!

5-0 out of 5 stars good book!
SVJH is one of my favorite series and this is another great book in it. In this book we get to know Blue Spiccoli, one of those slacker-type people, who decides to shape up FAST when he heard that their social worker is coming by to check up on him. Blue and his older brother Leaf (funky names!) are orphans and Leaf is Blue's legal guardian. He makes video games for a living and is also the coach of the unpopular SVJH volleyball team, which Elizabeth joins. Because of that Blue and his friends get to know Elizabeth (and Blue develops an interest in Liz). They hang out at the Spiccoli house for pizza and to test video games---basically to have fun. For a while Blue and Elizabeth rub off on each other and Liz forgets to do her homework and comes home late without permission. Blue starts joining every club in school he can to show the social worker that yes, Leaf takes care of him just fine. Towards the end Blue and Liz have a heated argument about the other being too uptight or too slack, but they make up soon after, and consider each other good friends. It is also in this book where the school carnival Kristin Seltzer has planned for so long finally happens. There are things going on with Kristin and her boyfriend, Brian, and Bethel finds out a little something about Lacey, but that I'll let you read about. :)

5-0 out of 5 stars True Blue - a Favorite!
True Blue is one of my FAVORITE SVJH books! In this book Blue Spiccoli gets anew social worker, who decides to check up on him since his grades are like TOTALLY AWFUL! So Blue joins practiclly every SVJH club IN THE SCHOOL to make-up for his bad grades. At the same time he is TOTALLY annoying Liz for being super cautious while she's starting to mellow out! Also... Bethel knows a SECRET about Lacey and it's making her miserable! Will Bethel tell to WHOLE SCHOOL? Read and find out in TRUE BLUE. C-ya

5-0 out of 5 stars True Blue or Blue ?
True Blue was a great book . Blue is a new character and we got to meet him in the last book . Blue is a ''mellow kind of guy and all he cares 'bout is surfing and video games . Well since Blue lifes wit hid brother , Leaf , a social worker doesn't like the way his grades are and she wants to see him . if she doesn't see what she likes she ..... might take away Blue from Leaf ! So blue has to get his life together . Which is pretty funny how he does it in this book , but read it you'll enjoy it . the side story is lacey has a huge secret that only betherl knows . yup thats right BETHERL AND LACEY talk 'bout an exciting book !

4-0 out of 5 stars Why is Blue's world suddenly looking so¿blue?
Elizabeth can't figure it out when her new friend, Blue Spiccoli, starts acting so uptight and out of character? Since when did he start caring about keeping the house neat and doing homework on Friday nights? And when he blows up at HER, that's IT. Or is it? And Blue can't seem to tell Liz why he's not himself right now... that it's all because the social worker's coming and he needs to straighten himself up FAST. And so what if he doens't get to surf right now? Getting involved in clubs is way more important. I like the scene in math club with Ronald Rheece and everything. That was funny! I don't really like Blue (the way he talks or 'thinks' I guess gets pretty annoying. But I think he's better for Liz then Sal! Meanwhile, Kristin is totally frazzled with getting everything ready for the carnival (which finally occurs in this book) and Brian is being so annoying! She NEEDS him and he spends all his time with his new, cool, beach friends. Some boyfriend. Then something happens to Lacey and Bethel finds out... and the thing is, Lacey needs Bethel's help. But can she really ask Bethel with something so... well personal? It'd be just like Bethel to tell the whole school and ruin Lacey's life... so why hasn't Bethel said anything? ... Read more

Book Description

IT'S A STICKY SITUATION!

Pleskit's quest to sample all things earthling -- especially earthling foods -- inevitably leads him to...peanut butter. He adores it. There's only one problem: He has an allergic reaction to the stuff that ends up making him feel incredibly romantic.

Before long, the purple alien is chasing girls around the playground, trying to kiss them. He gets a slap in the face, which snaps him back to reality. But the damage has been done. The school is in an uproar, and unless Tim and Pleskit can find a way to convince Principal Grand that it's not really Pleskit's fault, the world's first alien student may be looking for a new classroom -- on a new planet! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars If You liked the first three you are sure to LOVE this one
As in the first three books our yong heros get mixed up in a sticky situation that will keep you glued to the pages. I am one of the "I was a Sixth Grade Alien" colletion's biggest fans and this was one of my favs. I hope that you will enjoy the book as much as i did!

5-0 out of 5 stars The best book in the series so far!
I'm a big fan of Bruce Coville, (especially the "Sixth Grade Alien" books), and I must say, this is one of his best books yet. (Of course, I haven't read a lot of the newer ones, since I haven't had a chance to buy them yet.) A funny yet believeable plot, and also, Linnsy plays a more active part than usual, which is good. (She's one of my favorite characters.)

5-0 out of 5 stars Crazy Over Peanut Butter
I LOVED this book it is very funny, and I couldn't put it down. It has many of the same characters as in Bruce Covile's I was a Sixth Grade Alien #1. In this story Pleskit tries a new food from Earth- Peanut Butter. Whenever Pleskit eats Peanut Butter he becomes girl crazy. This causes a great deal of trouble in the school and almost ruins the mission. Can Pleskit and Tim save the mission? Read and find out. You won't be disappointed. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Good!
I Really like this book!. Coach Tuttle always appears Wrapped up in bandages because he always trips and fall. He does not know anything about softball. Could the new softball coach really be a mummy?

If Liza, Melody, Eddie and Howie don't find out soon, The Bailey Batters may never win another Game!

5-0 out of 5 stars what I think?????
I think its a good book. I recommend you read this book
because its funny. you will defentuly like this if you like
soft ball.

4-0 out of 5 stars This book is about...
I like this book because I like mysteries. It is about a mummy coaching softball. The mummy is always getting hurt. That's why he's all wrapped up in bandages. I think that other kids would like this book too because it's funny.

3-0 out of 5 stars OK, wrap it up!
You would think that by now, the 21st installment in the Bailey School Kids series, that someone other than a bunch of third graders would notice all these strange characters showing up!!Actually, that's a good deal of the fun of the series!!

The gang is assembled again, this time to play ball against their school rival.Problem is, they never win! It's like the field is CURSED or something...Along comes Coach Tuttle who is perhaps THE most uncoordinated person around! He slips, trips, falls and bangs himself up something terrible. It's like the man HIMSELF is cursed or something...He even carries around HUGE bundles of bandages to patch himself up with. When he's done, he looks a lot like... well, like a MUMMY!But mummies don't coach softball...DO THEY?!?

"Mummies Don't..." is a much more complicated book than any of the others in the series. It involves this supposedly human coach, a missing diamond from a mummy's tomb, the Bailey School baseball diamond, Mrs. Jeeper's house (the 3rd grade teacher who is supposedly a vampire), and a curse. Somehow, it all gets jumbled up and doesn't make much sense, though everything seems to come clean in the end. There is little suspense in this book, and that razzing-insult-a-minute that we've grown to know and love is also missing from this work. I personally was expecting more of a REAL mummy to make an appearance, vs. some clumsy dude in elastic bandages. For die-hard fans of the series who wish to proudly say, "yes, *I've* read all the books!", I recommend it.If you're just into reading a few here, a few there, then this one can go on the skip list.

5-0 out of 5 stars Mummies Don't Coach Softball
I loved the book. The story was about a bunch of kids that thought their softball coach was a Mummy from ancient Egypt! Liza and her friends didn't know what to make of their clumsy coach who kept injuring and bandaging his'whole' body. Liza told a story about the Mummy of Doom and the Curse ofthe Diamond. I couldn't wait to find out how the book would end... youwon't either! ... Read more
