The teen years can be a minefield of confusing and embarrassing experiences, with transitions in every aspect of life: interacting with family, socializing with friends, and coping with a school workload and perhaps a first job. Add to this burden the need to endure the physical changes that come with puberty and young adulthood. My teen needed this book...
Not only does this book give teens logical reasons to wait until adulthood to have sex- it also teaches them to withstand peer pressures for a variety of teen issues- My teen and I really enjoyed the love test that the author placed in the book. She told me that she uses it now to determine whether or not a friendship or possible relationship with a boy is really worth pursuing. This book is a great tool for parenting. ... Read more

sensitive handling of a deeply personal subject
Cool and Celibate addresses the issues in and surrounding the choice to become sexually active as a teen and young adult. It is particularly appropriate for younger teens. The author makes his points without passing judgement. He provides tools and guidelines for making one's own decisions. Teens--read this before having sex
This is not a children's book. It deals head-on with the difficult reality of teen pregnancy. The book contains first-hand experiences of teens choosing childbirth or abortion, facts and figures about teen parenthood, and several perspectives--both pro-choice and pro-life--about the many pros and cons of pregnancy options.
