5-0 out of 5 stars Not just a book, Not just for fun, It's all in one!
My Potty Activity Book, stickers and tips are a great addition to your potty training routine.

The book arrived much larger than we would have expected and contains many pages of activity fun using drawings and real black and white photos of children.

It's not just a book to read through, it's an every day extended activity book. Parent and child can read the book each day over and over, but also interact with creative coloring and stickers day after day, page after page.

With your help, your child can proudly check off each milestone they reach on the progress chart and in the end, you have a keepsake activity book with a congratulatory certificate in the back for potty training completion.

Even if your child isn't fully trained by the end, you've still spent a lot of fun, creative and quality time together working on potty skills without all the pressure and frustration! <...

5-0 out of 5 stars No more diapers....yeah!
Tracy Foote's "My Potty Activity Book" was just what my son needed to make that final transition out of diapers! Each page features pictures of children and different aspects of potty training (ie) various types of potty seats, washing hands, rewards for using potty, etc. Unlike other potty training story books, every page contains an activity that your child may participate in, such as coloring, connect the dots, and matching games. This book also contains over 45 potty training tips that address situations such as motivating your child, night time training, and using public restrooms. As an added bonus, each page is perforated and may be removed from the book and hung in a place where your child will be reminded of the activity featured on that page. This book was definitely an asset to successfully potty training our son!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent potty training book!
My son was so excited when he saw the book. We had been potty training for a few weeks, but he was very interested in what this book was all about. My 7 year old daughter even got involved and started telling him about it. I am excited too to see him be potty trained. Look out! No more diapers, here we come!
Jeffrey thanks you and so do I!
It is definitely a recommend to all those with potty training woes!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent potty motivator!
As a mother of three (the youngest being boy/girl twins)I've had my share of "toilet training". After reading this book, (MY Potty Activity Book by Tracy Foote)I was impressed by all the information and activities packed within the 63 pages. Each activity is useful in familiarizing toddlers with the "potty learning" basics. The perforated pages allow for easy removal after completing the activities. Included is a wonderful reference section utilizing 45 ideas to help you transition your child from diapers to "big pants". Your child will love having his/her own potty progress chart (included) as well as feeling a huge sense of pride when they receive their potty graduate certificate after completing the activities. Wonderful book that entertains while it educates!

5-0 out of 5 stars Kylie, that is NOT a crayon
An excellent activity/colouring book, though my twins always seem to work out a way of making toilet training even more fun. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Shel Silverstein Rocks!
Shel Silvertein's book Falling Up was the second of his books I ever recieved. (The first was The Giving Tree.) I loved it so much that I read it cover to cover in less than a day! His book has inspired me to write silly poems of my own. I look at his works for reference when I write school asignments because they give me great ideas. I now have all of his poem books and would reconmend each and every one (Where the Sidewalk Ends, and A Light in the Attic). His works should be spread across the nation to young and old alike. Read his poems and thank me later!

5-0 out of 5 stars Shel Silverstein's Falling Up will not let you down!
Falling Up is the third collection of poems and drawings offered to us by the multi-talented Silverstien. This book will appeal to the child and inner-child alike. Regarding age, this book like: "Where the Sidewalk Ends" and "A Light in the Attic", knows no boundries. In addition to being a poet, Shel Silverstien is an accomplished cartoonist, playwrite and lyricist. Mr. Silverstein played a big part in the early career of Dr. Hook, writing such hits as "The Freaker's Ball", "Cover of the Rolling Stone" and many others. The popular country classic "One's on the Way" by Loretta Lynn was penned by Shel Silverstein. The Irish Rover's signature song "The Unicorn" was also written by Silverstein and can be found in "Where the Sidewalk Ends".
If the author is Shel Silverstein, you can't miss, as the copy within is sure to be a hit!

4-0 out of 5 stars Falling Up
I read Falling up by Shel Silverstine. It has over 125 poems. All of them are fun interesting and humoreous. Most poems have drawings and rhyme. The poems are perfect for kids of all ages
My persoal favorite poem is called "the Monkey". I like it for two resons. The first is it tels a story. Seacond is it has great Illustrations. The last is it replaces words with numbers as in "He'd neverr climbed be 4". that poem is on page 40.
this is a great book filled with poems and storys for children. I rcomend this book to all people interested in poems and funny thimgs.

5-0 out of 5 stars the best
since I was a little girl,I always wanted my mother to read me this book. It was full of deleight and surprises, I enjoyed it alot.when she finished 1 poem, I would always ask her to read another after another.Truly, this is a book that everyone should read and have.I have the entire collection of Shel Silverstein books. He has a very special talent in writing, I have always admired him.His books are one of a kind.

5-0 out of 5 stars Falling Up
Falling up by Shel Sylverstien is one of the all time greatest poem books. This is a great book for someone who just wants to relax and enjoy reading something silly not serious. It is good to laugh and even better to laugh at what you are reading because at the same time you are working your brain as well as exercising your sense of humor. Mr. Sylverstien uses the most interesting words to express himself in his poems. It amazes me at how he can pull all of these funny things out of his head. There are so many great poems in this one book so that I could not possibly tell you about just one. Some of the poems are so outrageously funny and the few serious ones are still a little humorous which is what makes the poems so good. Shel wrights many poems and has published many books. It surprises me that all of these different ideas and feelings can come from one man. From a tattooed suit to a pet snowball, from a pencil made wrong to a world where things are completely opposite, even the stories that are about life lessons are still really good. Some books by Shel Sylverstien are Where The Sidewalk Ends, A Light In The Attic, and The Giving Tree. Those stories are just as good as Falling Up. The author Shel Sylverstien, the book, Falling up. It is an enjoyable read that can be found at most bookstores, libraries, and online. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Terrific!
My kids got this book when they were about 6 months old. They loved the rhythm even then, and it's still one that they pick up and ask for now, at 18 months. I love it as a parent - I think the author is clever and talented!

It will make much more sense, both rhythmically and logically, if you remember to include the line on the back cover as the end of the book.

On some of her other books, she includes either definitions of the food or pronunciation guides - this has neither, so I may be butchering the words, but no one seems to care.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun for every sushi-loving parent
If you don't love sushi, you might not care about this book. But boy is it cute! And baby LOVES it (8 months). He giggles whenever he sees the ikura page -- I don't know if it's the fun illustrations or the clever words. But whatever, as long as he's happy. One day perhaps he, too, will share our passion for sushi.

I'd give this as a gift to any sushi-loving, parent-to-be.

5-0 out of 5 stars Your baby will grow up with this story
I bought this for my nephew for Christmas when he was eight months old. He is now 15 months old and has it read to him every night. He loves this book. He often grabs it from his book table. It's the perfect book for small children - short, colorful and rhymey. Just remember that the book actually ends on the back cover, which I thought was a little strange. My sister has memorized this book since she reads it every night and so have I. I plan on giving this book at baby showers.

2-0 out of 5 stars doesn't compare to Hola Jalapeno
I bought this because my two and half year old nephew has enjoyed Hola Jalapeno for many months and I thought I'd try something new. He loves to be read to but this one just won't keep his interest. I'll keep trying. Maybe when he's a bit older.

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing!
Our baby is only 3 months old, but she is very captivated by this book. The designs and patterns really appeal to her. She will study it and has even started to turn the pages herself! I highly recommend it for babies. ... Read more

"Goodnight, Max," says Max's sister Ruby. But Max can't get comfortable. First he spills a glass of water. Rosemary Wells' beloved Max and Ruby are back in an irresistibly touchable book that is also a satisfying bedtime story. 4-0 out of 5 stars You have to be a fan
I bought this book after reading all the great reviews. It is a nice book, bright colors, lots of attention to detail, silly story line, but I didn't think the areas for the child to feel were large enough. The sticky candy in Max's pajamas is just about the size of a child's fingertip, the lace curtain is just a thin slip of fabric, the lightning is a skinny zig-zag of foil and the "cookie crumbs" sandpaper is only about a quarter-inch high. There are other touch-and-feel books that provide a much larger exploratory surface. Still, this book does contain a good variety (sticky candy, rough crumbs, fur, smelly sock, etc.)I'm not sure why, but that smelly sock always seems to be such a hit!

5-0 out of 5 stars A touch of genius by Rosemary Wells
What a joy of a book! My baby loves feeling the surprises on each page from the crumbs in Max's pockets to the gummy nightcrawlers on his feet! A sweet story with tactile turns on each page. A classic in the making, I can hardly wait for a sequel!

5-0 out of 5 stars A splendid board book for toddlers & preschoolers.
It's time for bed, but Max can't fall asleep in this board book for toddlers who will find here a delightful bedtime dilemma. Bright pages with tactile cut-outs attract attention with touch and feel surprises as Max faces a too-long night.

5-0 out of 5 stars Max and Ruby star in this lovely story about going to bed
My children adore Max, and this book is no exception. My three-year-old had me read it to him no less than three times in a row today. He loves to touch the lace curtain, soft blanket, and the "spilled" water. And what a sister! Everyone needs a sister like Ruby!

Any parent who's tried to get their own "Max" to bed can sympathize with Ruby, the long suffering and ever patient sibling.

What a joyful little book!

5-0 out of 5 stars Goodnight Max
The irrepresible Max and his ever-patient sister Ruby are backonce again in this humorous yet soothing bedtime tale, complete with"touch and feel" fun.

Max is unable to fall asleep, andhis mishaps require continuous changes of his pajamas. My 3- 1/2 year old grandson, a Max fan from babyhood, especially loves the feel of the cookie crumbs in the bed and the sticky candy on the pajama feet. Peeking under the real fabric blanket is also a big hit, and the "smelly" sock is met with hillarity every time.

The format is an oversized board book, but with an expanded text and richly detailed illustrations. The designs on Max's fun-theme pajamas makes us want to own them; the silver moon is appropriately silvery, and the fly swatter is made of real netting.

Goodnight Max is a wonderful companion piece to "Goodnight, Moon" and "Bedtime for Frances". Babies would love touching the fuzzy teddy bear and Max's furry tale; older pre-schoolers can open and close the window. It's the best Max yet. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Nice Bath Book
This book has held up very well in the year since I bought it. The pages don't stick together because they are vinyl, not plastic, and there have been no tears or obvious wear to the book. It does the trick for entertaining in the tub while you wash kids' hair (two year olds hate that!), and it will usually quiet our fussing child.

5-0 out of 5 stars WE LOVE ELMO
My 1 year old daughter absolutely loves this book. The pictures are bright and well drawn and the poem clever. The best thing though is that this book cleans up so easily. 5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Educational Toy for Your Little Ballerina!
Not only are the Angelina Ballerina books wonderful - all about a very strong willed little girl/mouse who lives out her dreams and learns many a good lesson in the process - but the Angelina Ballerina dolls (that are made by the American Girl Company) are equally as fabulous. I bought this set for my 3-year-old niece and I hope to add to her collection of both Angelina books and accessories for years to come. There is a book for every occasion (Christmas, birthdays, new siblings, new friends, school) and accessories for the doll to coordinate. There are also dolls for Angelina's little sister, her cousin and her best friend Alice. Plus tons of clothes, furniture and other fun stuff! It is so great to have toys that are quality made and so educational as well. You can not go wrong with Angelina Ballerina!

5-0 out of 5 stars The ultimate gift for your little ballerina wannabe.
I bought this for my 3 year old daughter after we discovered Angelina through her videos. The story and artwork is beautiful and my daughter loves the book. It inspired her to want to attend dance class which she now does. Best of all this book comes with an adorable Angelina doll. My daughter takes it everywhere. Now she even wants us to call her Kaylie Angelina. Angelina is a great role model for any little girl. Every aspiring ballet dancer my daughter's age that I know of just loves her. This is a great set and I would recommend it to everyone.

4-0 out of 5 stars Review
This is a book about a little mouse that wanted so much to be a ballerina. She did nothing but dance and that got her into trouble. She would dance all over the place and bump into thing and knock things over. Everyone was getting sick and tired of Angelina ruining everything. One day her parents told her that she needed to stop dancing all the time because it was ruining things. She did stop and her parents sent her to ballet classes. This made her happy and now she wasn't dancing all over the place and ruining things. Everyone was happy and Angelina took lessons for many years and became a famous ballerina.
This was a really great book. It teaches children that they can be whatever they want to be but they can't let it get in the way of the rest of their life and I think the author did a really great job of getting that point across. Sometimes people think that things are just a momentary obsession but that is really what Angelina wanted to do with her life. She wanted to be a ballerina and she did it and proved that she really could do it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Mother of a 2 year old ballerina
My 2 year old loves to dance (and sing) and we bought this book a few weeks after her 1st exciting ballet class and she loved it! In fact, she made us substitute her name for Angelina's and still have to read the story that way!

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect Gift for Little Girls
I have yet to meet a 4 year old girl who didn't wish to be a ballerina.

When the Brain Quest series moves from preschool age to thefirst-grade set, it transforms from a playful question game into a sort of elementary school version of Trivial Pursuit. (In the spirit of this new grown-up air, there is no longer a cheerful animal guide appearing throughout the decks.) Now, each card features one question from each of five category sections: Reading, Math, Vocabulary, Social Studies & Science, and Grab Bag.The rules are gentle: Playing in teams, with partners, or solo, you can stick to your favorite subject category or play the whole card. Keeping score (they offer three different versions) is optional.

Though the framework of the game feels very grown-up, the questions are not out of a first grader's league. A math question asks, "What coin is thesame as 25 cents?" A sample science question reads, "Name the force thatkeeps you from floating in the air." There is much good humor in these questions, and the name references are nicely up to date, though not completely contemporary (Beanie Baby references can be found here, but Pokémon'snotmentioned). 5-0 out of 5 stars Room 10 loves it!
My first grade class loves Brainquest! We play it in a "family fued" type format with table groups competing. They have a blast and the material in the questions is very compatible with our curriculum and state standards. It makes a great game for rewarding them when we've finished everything, a good 10 minute filler, and a good activity to suggest to a substitute. They always get excited when we are going to play, and are requesting it often.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not quite as kid-friendly
The questions are age-appropriate, but the presentation is somewhat dry, especially if your kids are used to the Brain Quest for preschool and kindergarten. There are very very few pictures in the First grade version, just several questions written on each card. Not as entertaining for kids as the Brain Quests with pictures. The little boy and his teddy bear were always together. Every night, when the little boy went to sleep, his teddy bear was right there next to him. When the little boy went on a trip, his teddy bear went too-until one terrible day when the teddy bear was left behind . . .

This is the wonderful story of a friend who is lost and found and lost and found again, and of a little boy who begins to understand the meaning of compassion.

2-0 out of 5 stars No son, the bum in the park is _not_ a suitable playmate!
A child loses his teddy; it is found by a park derelict; who meets and becomes friends with the boy despite the obvious discomfort of the boy's parents. BZZZTTT!!! David McPhail picked the wrong year to write a book about warm, fuzzy homeless people. Why didn't he make the other character a poor child, or a lonely soldier on station far from home, or something like that? In this year of appalling, highly-publicized child abductions, the lesson couldn't be any clearer: children should be instructed to view street people as dangerous until proven otherwise. If McPhail wants to join the ranks of those who make mascots of these people, that's his business. But it is the height of irresponsibility to teach unsuspecting children to do the same.

5-0 out of 5 stars heart felt and compassion
This book is wonderful. The boy loses his teddy bear and a homeless man finds it. I have used this book to try to explain to my son that there are alot of people who have nothing. He is starting to understand that the boy gave up the bear to the homeless man at the end because the boy realized he had so much more than the man. Now my son wants to give his bear to someone who has less.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Heartwarming Tale
After reading THE TEDDY BEAR aloud to groups of second graders, I felt compelled to share this wonderful book with others. It's a heartwarming tale of friendship and compassion that children can easily relate to. It brought tears to many eyes. Children and adults will both benefit from reading this book. David McPhail's illustrations are brilliant.

5-0 out of 5 stars Warmly brought to life with soft color illustrations
Charmingly written and illustrated by David McPhail, The Teddy Bear is the story of a young boy who loves his plush stuffed toy... but when he outgrows it and throws it away, a homeless man takes it for comfort. One day, the homeless man loses his beloved bear, and the boy finds and returns it to him. The Teddy Bear is a highly recommended tale of compassion, warmly brought to life with soft color illustrations. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A pop-up book very popular with 20-30 month children
Clearly drawn and cleverly constructed pop-ups are the heart of this simple tale. Our 24 month child loved it from the outset (he first saw it at 20 months), and subsequent gifts of this book to the childern of our friends suggest that our experience is far from unique. For a good two months this was book of choice, but then went out of favour. Older children who have seen this book have appreciated the story more - so we expect our's will come back to it at about 30 months when he will understand it more. Strongly recommended

5-0 out of 5 stars an exceptional lift-the-flap book with a sweet story
Kipper is looking for his teddy bear. Is it in the apple tree? No! Birds come flying out instead. Thus begins our odyssey into Kipper's world -- populated with mice, pigs and moon people (among others). Pop-ups are activated by lifting flaps and manipulating tabs. The latter may be difficult for young children, but they will most likely enjoy the action anyway.

The little surprise at the end is charming and sure to bring a smile to your little one's face.

Exceptionally well done.

Caveats: A few of the flaps are flimsy, so be careful if your child is rough on them. Kipper's usual friends (Pig, Arnold and Tiger) do not show up in the story.

5-0 out of 5 stars What a Charmer!
Okay, I'm a sucker for pop-up books and a sucker for cute pups, so this one really couldn't miss for me. But this is a really cute pop-up and with the little light shining at the end....well, I can't imagine a child not falling for this book. Of course, if the battery burns out, a lot of the book's attraction fails...but that should be some time down the road.

5-0 out of 5 stars A really sweet book, even if you don't watch the show
The pop-ups are beautifully done, and really appeal to my 16 mo old son, and he just loves the little flashlight revealed at the end of the story -- one to add to the list of classics on the bookshelf which have fun effects, like Eric Carle's work. To describe Kipper -- he is the most adorable, laid-back dog. Lifes events are taken in stride with great good humor, and lessons aren't IN your face like in Barney type shows. Kipper's A to Z is another wonderful alphabet book, and is one of his favorites too!. He has learned to say bee, bzz like a bee, duck, quack, and strangely enough -- the word Happy from that book! He likes to keep saying moon and doggie to this one :-) Enjoy it!

As an update, he is now 3 1/2 and took this book to show and tell one day. The flaps and pull outs still work so its a sturdy, simple, engaging book. The theme of being able to go to sleep even without your favorite item that you are obsessing about is also reassuring. (Kipper falls asleep, and we find teddy was reading a book at his feet under the covers with a flashlight) You know that Kipper will wake up in the morning and find his teddy.

5-0 out of 5 stars This book is fun
My 2 year old loves this book. I don't let him look at it by himself as I fear it would not last, but he wants it read to him several times a week (and he has about 100 books)! I let him operate many of the flaps now that it is a little broken in and he thinks they are hillarious. The little flashlight at the end of the book keeps him guessing. We always turn out the light and he puts his finger over the flashlight to make his finger light up. It is a lot of fun to read, especially if you like the kipper cartoon series. Nice and gentle bed time reading too, not too stimulating. One of the very best of the kipper book series. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Only if you use in conjunction with the videos
I bought this cards thinking that they had true photographs of the actual objects. Instead, the animals are the stuffed creations from the videos and not photos of real animals at all. I thought this was very disappointing, especially since I loved the concept of the different languages on the cards. I think this set is only useful when used with the videos.

2-0 out of 5 stars Warped
The concept for these cards is great, but I do not recommend you buy them. The pictures of the animals are not of animals at all, but of stuffed toys that barely even resemble the animals "depicted." Children would be confused by, for example, a frog that barely even resembles a real frog. I pulled all of the "warped" cards and have used the remaining ones with my daughter.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Baby Einstein item I've bought!!!
My son and I absolutely love these cards. It's very educational and my son spoke his first word as soon as I pointed to one card. The quality is great; each card is laminated to last you many years. All the items in the cards are found in other Baby Einstein videos/dvds. I especially love the teaching aides and words in various languages on the back of the cards to help parents use the cards effectively. I found that it's not only educational for the child but for the parent as well. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Another Kick!
Dan Gutman has done it again with "The Million Dollar Kick", a sequel to "The Million Dollar Shot".

I know Dan Gutman through e-mails, I once met him at my school two years ago in Oklahoma City.

The character in this book "Carmen Applegate" was the name of my librarian at my elementary school. Also, another small character "Dan Mills" is the librarian at my middle school. "Bobbie Frisk" is the name of a teacher in the same district, though I have to tell you I don't her.

Please try to read all of Dan Gutman's books, they are very good, and I am sure you will enjoy them.

5-0 out of 5 stars Always fun for everyone
I got this for my daughter when she was 2 1/2 and she had a lot of success with the questions. She often amazes me with the things that she does know, and takes great pleasure in these "surprises". I like this product because it covers so many different areas - letter identification, colors, numbers, and everyday knowledge. Her 7 year old sister also enjoys "quizzing" her, and they pass quite a bit of time this way on car trips. Now they can use their Brain Quest together. I do several pages for one while the other listens, then we switch. I started off with Brain Quest Toddler and plan to use them all as my children grow.

5-0 out of 5 stars Brain Quest for Threes
Our very-verbal two year-old LOVES this deck of questions, and she'll continue to get a lot of use out of it since there are many she can't yet answer. Very practical things that all kids should know are presented here.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Edu-tainment
I happened to stumble across Brain Quest for Threes and bought it because it's compact packaging looked convenient. I put in my car to pull out whenever I brought my 3 and 5 year olds to appointments or weekends away. I was thrilled to discover that my kids really enjoyed playing the game and I could easily play with them both by taking turns. There are so many questions that the cards always seem new. My 5 year old often pulls it out to play by herself and the easy to understand answer cards allow her to do so. I have purchased other Brain Quest products for the subsquent age groups. ... Amelia Bedelia has never been camping in the great outdoors before. 5-0 out of 5 stars Rita says this book gets five stars....
My granddaughter Rita is helping me write this review. She says this is one of her favorite books, and she recommends it to other kids. Rita read this book when she was in first grade. She's in second grade this year.

Rita says the story starts when the familiy is going on a camping trip. She says Amelia's Dad says "Let's Hit the Road" and and Amelia picks up a stick and starts hitting the road. Amelia seems to always get things wrong. When they get to the campsite she falls in the river and her clothes are all wet.

But one day, Amelia's Dad forgets his own birthday, so Amelia Bedelia makes a cake and fancy dinner for him. And the family starts singing "Happy Birthday to You." And he thanks Amelia Bedelia for the cake. Amelia finally does something that pleases her Dad. The End.

5-0 out of 5 stars just right
This is a fun book for kids, and has a lot of common sense easy recipes they can follow. It starts off by teaching the basics of building a campfire, especially the safety involved, and putting out the fire. It has sections on cooking on a grill, cooking in a pouch, and on a stick. If you havne't doen these it is hard to describe, since they do not mean an animal on a spit here. This is good for cub scouts or other youth groups to teach basic cooking skills to kids in the woods.

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT WAY TO GET THE KIDS INVOLVED
This was a great buy for my 9 y/o! She loved it and we enjoyed all the goodies she made for us!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great book for backpacks
This book is well written and beautifully illustrated.

It expands the basic recipe file of backpacking campers to include many delicious meals.

This is a great resource for those who are just beginning their camping experiences, especially scout leaders who need to teach their young scouts how to cook over an open flame.

5-0 out of 5 stars COOKING ON A STICK is a handy, dandy little book.
COOKING ON A STICK (and in a pouch and on a grill) is a great little cookbook for kids. The pictures are bright and colorful, safety issues are clearly dealt with, and the recipes are fun and tasty. Who can resist Moose Lips

2-0 out of 5 stars If you camp next to a grocery store - this book's for you!
The book COOKING ON A STICK is an intriguing title and may hint at being a simple book - but it's not. The recipes call for a can of non-stick cooking spray along with perishable foods such as hotdogs, fruit, eggs, etc. The recipe ideas are only suitable if one is camping next to a grocery store! There is even a recipe which suggests you let your child make a necklace out of dried fruit and cereal and that the child wear it around their neck for snack food. If you're trying to attract a bear this might be a great idea. I would not recommend this book for anything but the backyard camper. It is also not written at a level that your kids can read the recipes themselves, although the pictures suggest it is a children's book. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great book!
This book had such a wide variety of games and alot of ones I hadn't even seen before. I do recommend this book!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for all Ages!
During my years studying drama in high school, college and in England, I've been exposed to many theatre games and activities. Since my summer school assignment this year was teaching drama to middle school kids, I thought I'd get this book as a back up to some of those games, especially since level might have been an issue. I was so surprised and delighted to see almost every improv, character, voice, etc. activity I've ever done in this book. It is thorough, creative and can be used with any age group, from pre-schoolers to college students. Don't be fooled with the "for Kids" part of the title...some of the games would even be entertaining at adult social gatherings!

5-0 out of 5 stars Wow!
Mrs. Bany-Winters writes a great book! I've tried all of the theatre games and they are all very fun to do.. even if you aren't into theatre! I recommend this book to everyone.. try it at parties, try it by yourself, try with friends.. just try it!

I recently taught an enrichment course in drama and used this book as well as others to start off all sessions with the children. 5-0 out of 5 stars Not just a children's book
This is a must for any hockey fan with children. Not only is it a traditional ABC's book, it also teaches about the history of hockey and helps people of all ages get a better appreciation for the game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Z for Zamboni receives and A+ from us!
My 4 year old "hockey-nut" son absolutely adores this book. It makes bedtime easier because he knows we get to read this book. As a first grade teacher, I applaude the way that the authors have also made this a "teaching" book. My son is now recognizing the alphabet as we read the book. I plan on buying several more and giving it as a gift! A++++++

5-0 out of 5 stars Hockey Book is Full of Hockey
I was absolutely first-line, rookie-of-the-year impressed by "Z is for Zamboni." I don't think there could have been much more crease-crashing, glove-wearing, hockey-spelling hockey in this book. Everyone I've shown it to has been impressed both by the amount of hockey in the book, and also by the fact that all 26 some-odd letters have a rhyme specifically written for them, relating to the "old stick and puck." I would recommend this book to anyone interested in hockey, or the alphabet.
