5-0 out of 5 stars BOOK
Ok, first of all i think Jeremy and Jade make THE worst couple. Jeremy deserves so much better than JAde, like Jess. Jess is everything that he ever wanted in a girl and shes right in front of him and hes ignoring the fact that she still is i love with him. Instead he's falling for Jade AGAIN after he caught her with another guy. Now he Elizabeth and Conner thing is not looking good. Conner took off, and is with his long-lost father somewhere in Cali. All i know for sure is that if Conner doesn't come back soon then Liz is gonna fall for Evan, Conner's best friend. :(

3-0 out of 5 stars So Not Right...?
This book was *really* fast-paced, but I think it climaxed a lot of the events that had to happen. Jade has fallen for Jeremy - the first guy she's ever truly fallen for, in fact - but you end up wondering, does she really mean it...and does she deserve him? Andy talks to Six, the first person who will really listen to him, and she convinces him to tell his parents about how he's pretty sure he's gay. When he comes out, his parents are surprised, and run him down with a few questions. But it really isn't the death situation he expected. Will still refuses to see Melissa, who misses him and desperately wants him to at least *talk* to her. Conner has bolted after Liz made the mistake of saying, "We're here because we love you" and headed to find his father in upper Red Bluff, California. He ends up staying with him and sending an e-mail to Megan informing her where he is...but not when he's coming back. Liz is falling apart and meanwhile Evan has become like a support for her. Tia mistakens it by thinking that two seconds after Conner's gone, Liz has immediately gotten together with his best friend and how sleazy is that? Liz is shocked and tells Tia that's totally ridiculous. She herself is not so sure about how she feels about Evan, though. He's a friend, sure - but could she ever consider him as more? Maria has alienated herself from Ken and frankly, I think that's great. They were never good for each other anyway, plus, his whole "instant-connection-with-Melissa" thing is hurl-inducing. The whole point is, this wasn't one of the better SY books, but there definitely have been worse. Hopefully Jeremy will come to his senses and knock out Jade, get back together with Jess, and Conner will come to HIS senses and return to Sweet Valley. So, overall - this book was all right.

5-0 out of 5 stars Book 22 in the SVH: Senior Year Series
Despite the title (which is, like, the epitome of valley girl slang), "So Not Me" is a great SVHSY book. It picks up right where the previous book, "The It Guy," left off: with Conner McDermott's intervention. His reaction (summed up perfectly in his beginning journal entry: "What. The. Hell.") is to run away, hightailing it up the California coast to Red Bluff to find his estranged father, who is a compatible match with him: he's lazy, brooding, and an alcoholic. I feared it'd take another couple books for Conner to find his dad, confront him, etc., but thankfully this subplot wasn't as long-drawn-out as some others in this series.

Romance-wise, the following happens: Elizabeth Wakefield does a little "unintentional" flirting with Conner's best friend, Evan Plummer, while he's away. And Jade Wu has done the unthinkable: she's fallen for Jeremy Aames, despite priding herself on being a player. Jeremy, on the other hand, is treading a little more carefully, especially after she cheated on him.

"So Not Me" really shows how self-absorbed a lot of these characters are, especially in regard to Andy Marsden's sexuality crisis. After an indifferent response to his coming out, he finally gets some decent support from--of all people--his ex-girlfriend, Six Hanson. By the end, things are looking better for him for a change.

3-0 out of 5 stars Ehhhh
this book wanst as good as the others. there was no reference to ken or will or melissa. they are the most interesting charcters, they def. should be in some coming up.

5-0 out of 5 stars a great book!
This book was awsome! At first I hated Jade because of what she did to Jeremy and Jessica, but now I see that she really likes Jeremy. Truely. Maria should just forget about Ken. He was a jerk and just dissed her for his new world, which revolves entirely around football. Andy made some big decisions invoving being gay, and I think it's great that he made them, but he shouldn't have been so hard on his friends for not knowing exactly what he was going through. They had a good reason to be distracted, with all the stuff Conners been putting them through. I think he needs more help than they can give him, and Elizabeth needs some support. As for her and Evan, I think he is exactly what she needs right now. Evan is a great guy, and I think him and Liz should hook up. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars High School Is NoThInG like This
If high school was THIS dramatic, I'm not sure a lot of us would stay. I know there are laws against kids dropping out and everything, but a normal kids life doesn't involve this much drama. Okay, yeah I'm a cheerleader but my life does NOT revolve around it. And cheerleader's and jock's don't control my school. You're personality control's who you are and what you're thought of, not you're head cheerleading position or whatever. In this book, Will trys to get revenge at Ken for "taking his life" away from him. And Jade, of course, try's to get Evan's attention. I'm not dissing the series by saying it's a little over dramatic.. I happen to own all of the books out right now (1-28). I'm just saying it's a little out there. But, then again, that's what some of us high schooler's are looking for. Someone with a more dramatic live than ours.. and proof that not everything is always perfect like the media-driven society thinks it is.

4-0 out of 5 stars Really Enjoyed This Book
Well this book kind of moves slow in the begining, but it really starts to pick up. Ken finally woke up and came to his senses, and I was really happy for him at the end of this book. I really hope that Ken and Maria get back together. Melissa is still purley evil, but she kind of gets what is coming to her in this book. Will also came to a realization, and I actually kind of liked him at the end of the book, although what he tried to do to Ken wasn't right, but he kind of makes up for it. I hope that Will sticks to his promise and doesn't go back to that witch of his ex-girlfriend. I liked what Lila said to Melissa in this book. I wonder if Lila is getting sick of Melissa. Not too much about Jessica in this book. I loved the Evan and Jade storyline, that was extremly good, and I can't wait to read more about them. I kind of felt sorry for Liz in this book.

4-0 out of 5 stars it was ok
I thought this book was going to be boring 'cause it seemed, basically, about Will and he's my one of my least favorite characters to read about. And the last two books had been really boring, namely Straight Up.But I actually liked it;it was funny at some parts, endearing in others,ie:Conner's letter to Tia about Liz.Now I really can't wait for Meant To Be. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Straight Up
I love the SVSY books! At first this book didn't interest me, but then I really got into it. Here it goes.. It's time for the Lydia G. Senate Scholarship competition! Maria Slater, Melissa Fox, Tia Ramirez, and 2 others all got nominated. Both Ken Matthews & Elizabeth Wakefield got nominated to be the Student Judges. Ever since Ken started dating Melissa, there's been a lot of tension between them and Maria, but who will Ken choose? Elizabeth also has a problem; she's been wanting the scholarship for over 2 years! But she's got to make a decision.. who is Elizabeth going to vote for? And even though Tia & Maria have become good friends this year, the competition gets intense when they fight for the scholarship that could change their future. And possibly even their friendship.

5-0 out of 5 stars I think this is a pretty good book!
I think this book is really good! I thought some parts were boring me but not to death. It's about the Lydia G. Senate Scholarship. Tia, Melissa, Maria and 2 other girls are nominated. Liz is stuck and so is Ken. Liz can't choose either Tia and Maria while Ken is trying to vote for Melissa and Maria. I think Tia had a point in the back of the book about the test of friendship. It sort of reminded me about my freinds. I wouldn't spoil who won the scholarship but read it! :)

3-0 out of 5 stars It's Okay, not as good as the rest
This book was okay, it was a good change of pace, some of the stuff in this series was getting old, like the whole Conner-Liz thing. But I do miss reading about Conner, I hope he comes back to the books, things just aren't the same without him, maybe that is why I didn't find the book that good. There was some good parts in the book like Jade and her dad, the next book is gonna be good.

    3-0 out of 5 stars it's okay
i have a feeling that the series is going to be something like dawson's creek...but this one is okay..but has no point..there's a scholarship and tia, maria and melissa are nominated..Ken and Elizabeth are two of the judges..ken has to choose between melissa and maria..tough choice huh? yeah right..jade and evan is on their way to hook up..and elizabeth has to defeat her own jealousy to choose tia or maria for the scholarship..and jade's dad is coming to town.. basically, this book's about choosing what's important for each character..

4-0 out of 5 stars not bad
This book wasn't as good as the others. Maria, Tia and Liz are up for an award. Guess who wins and it's not Liz. But at least the Will storyline is interesting. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars This book was great!!
Ok Francine Pascal has done it once more. I love most of the books she has written. I think this book was really really good and i liked the parts where Jessica and Jermey were getting in to arguements and then finally in the end they made up and where they made up at and how they met each other there was so cute i thought. Mostly it was about Jade/Father/Mother deal and i think how jade and her mother still get to be together is a big plus! I really hope Jade and Evan think about being a couple.... i think they would be so cute together.I want you to read this book if you havn't yet but there is another series that is also very good and Francine Pascal writes them too. The series is called Fearless and its about a girl born with out a fear gene. If you havn't already started reading that series too because its awesome as well.

5-0 out of 5 stars Jades Dad
Jades dad came back in the last book and decided to sue for custody of Jade. He does so but Jades mother and Jade win. Jessica is beging to wonder wether herself and Jeremy are really meant to be. They get into a lot of fights. Like, for istance, Jessica freaks out at Ken for being such a jerk to Maria, one of her good friends. Then Jeremy asks whats wrong and Jessica tells him and he thinks its wrong that she gets into others busniess even if it is one of her very bst friends. Elizabeth isn't really in this book a lot. Will sees Ken and Melissa kissing in the hall and it gives him more determantion to get back to his spot on the football team and make Melissa realize what shes missing.

3-0 out of 5 stars Could have been better
Well this book was o.k. The Jade storyline was interesting, and I really felt bad for her, but I think that the Evan and Jade storyline is a lot more interesting. I can't wait to read more about these two characters. The Jessica and Jermey storyline was frustrating, and in my opinion kind of pointless. In some parts of this book I couldn't help but shake my head as I read about some of the things that Jessica did, I agree with Jeremy, she needs to mind her own business, and I can't believe what she said to Will, especially all he did to her. I seriously hope that the author isn't going towards another Will/Jessica/Jermey storyline again. Ken and Melissa need to wake up, I hope Ken will finally realize what kind of person she is and dump her. Will and Melissa deserve each other, especially after what Will is planning on doing. Not a whole about Elizabeth in this book. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I Love This Book!!!!!!!
This book is [so] sweet. Jessica & Jeremy are PERFECT for each other. At first I thought wow. they aren't meant for each other poor jessica... After the bananas slipping through jess' hand and jeremy had to carry her down from the stool cuz' he's wearing hiking boots or somethin' the way he felt when he touch her skin. then to the last it was all... [aww]! then I thought wow they ARE meant for each other poor jade. I think she'll find someone soon. Hope it's evan cuz' they look cute together. hey that's not a bad theory.

5-0 out of 5 stars never let go
This book rocked!! i was so happy that jeremy and jess got back together. they really belong together and i was very surprised that someon finally realized that and helped them out... u will have to read the book to find out who!

5-0 out of 5 stars I LOVE THIS BOOK
The book is so good! I remember the last part - when jessica and jeremy get back together. I won't say how they get back together...you MUST read it!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Never Let go Rox!
I love this book! It is the best. I love it how Jermey feals like going back with Jessica and how much he want's to dump brat Jade. I seriously recommend this fantastic book. (I'm not good at writing reviews) :|

5-0 out of 5 stars Jess and Jeremy....A perfect match
When they first broke up I thought that he could do better then her but as I read on and relized that she still liked him and he still liked her I knew that they where meant to be together and I hoped that they'd get back together. I think they are so cute together and when I found out that this book was about them and they where gonna get back together I couldn't wait to read it. Jade suprised me. I haven't liked her cause of what she did to Jeremy but no I don't hate her and don't dislike her. She helped him and Jess get back together instead of being selfish about it and keeping him even though she wasn't the girl he wanted to be with she saw that and helped get them together and I'm glad she did. Didn't think she'd do it though. I'm so happy now that my favorite couple is back together. They are so cute together and you can tell how much they like each other. This is my favorite book so far. Now I'm gonna enjoy reading the future ones cause they are a couple again. Thats all I have to say. I'm so glad that they are back together. Thank you, Jesy ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Brilliant
I don't know how Francine Pascal can write so many wonderful books. I really got into this one. But it didn't really have Maria and Ken in it at all. I was excited to head about them because they finally got back together, but this book was more about Jessica and Jeremy. But it was still great. I love all the senior year books!

4-0 out of 5 stars This book was good
In this book, Jess and Jeremy have to make decisions about College. Jessica realizes she wants to stay here in Sweet Valley while Jeremy wants to travel the country. While they are fighting, a character from the past shows up. As in SVJH. To find out who it is just read the book. Conner and Elizabeth have officially broken up after Conner finds out that Evan had a fling with Elizabeth during his absence. So he gets together with Alanna. Two recovering alchoholics should not get together. They are just baaaaaaaaaad for eachother. Actually, Alanna is bad for Conner. That is basically the plot of the book.

2-0 out of 5 stars uuuuuhhhhhggggg.......
in my opinion this book was rather boring. i mean, conner & alanna just dont seem right together. shes trying so hard not to seem like a fake in front of him, but yet she does it at the beggining with tia, andy ,& evan. she tries not to show her true self, which is her main problem.though i dont really think she lied to conner about her family. i just found this book to be boring in all areas.

4-0 out of 5 stars Conner and Alanna
Okay...what happened to Conner and Liz?? Alanna is SO totally wrong for Conner, Conner needs to forgive Liz and get back together with her!!! And fast! I hope an upcoming book called BE MINE will be about Conner and Liz, Conner should do something out of character, like romantic..or something NEW anyways... Jessica and Jeremy are perfect!! Like a match made in heaven, though I was secretly hoping she would sort of get to together with Damon (again) and something would take of from there!

Anyways..this was a pretty awsome book, and I cannot wait to get the next one!

4-0 out of 5 stars Liked it.
I thought this book was really good but there were other books with better storylines. If you like reading about conner and his romance with Alanna this is a good book for you. I personnally think he should get over her and go out with Liz. Liz is so much better. I thought the parts with Jeremy and Jessica were good. I luv em 2. I luv this series and hope their are more books. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good
This book was good, but not as good as the others. It was finally nice to read more about Ken and his life, although the book hardly mentioned him with Maria. The Jessica and Evan storyline was kind of lame. One week she likes Evan, then the next she likes Will, and then the next she likes Jeremy. I think that Jessica needs to stay single for a while, instead of trying to decide what guy she wants to be with. The Elizabeth and Conner storyline was ok, not completly exciting. Conner kind of acts like a jerk, but in a way it's understandalbe.

5-0 out of 5 stars On my own
In this book Jessica is finally dating Evan Plummer. But is it what she wants? She gets really confused when all her boyfriends show up at a sports awards night(Will,Jeremy,Evan)and she is confused over who she really likes.Evan gives her advice and Jessica decides to be single for a while.Personally I think she should've stuck with Jeremy instead of dumping him for slimeball Will.
Ken's dad has got a girlfriend and Ken doesn't like her especially when his father goes out on a date with her instead of coming to the sports award night.Ken's father is such a jerk and I'm suprised Ken hasn't hurt him yet. Also Conner's jealous because Elizabeth is not spending enough time with him.
This series is probably the best of all the Sweet Valley's and all the books are simple easy reads. They also have cool diary-like sections between chapters with letters,e-mail,characters personal thoughts, polls, stories and homework and college applications all done in a specific handwriting font for each character. These books are great if a tad on the melodramatic side and are easy enough to read so there's no excuse not to try one.The first one(being a Jessica fan)put me off but now I love them.
So go out and grab a copy and Happy Reading!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Fifteenth Book in the SVHSY Series
In "On My Own," Jessica Wakefield pursues Evan Plummer in an attempt to break the [mold] her friends have of her--that she only dates "popular, preppy, superficial jocks." However, if she'd read Evan's "10 Things That Make a Girl My Type" list, she'd probably realize they're obviously not a good match. Not only that, but she's still not over Will Simmons, which makes for a few uncomfortable scenes. In my opinion, she should take Evan's advice and stay single for awhile, sort things out, which, by the title, I thought she'd be doing in this book. Next one then?

A plus to "On My Own" is that Ken Matthews is more in the spotlight, though not exactly on good terms. Apparently he's having problems with his dad, who has been avoiding him because of his demanding job and new girlfriend.

Then there's the question that's been lurking in the back of my mind for the past couple of books: Where's Jeremy? He and Ken are the few halfway decent guys in this series and deserve a little more recognition than what they're getting. Well, Angel too, especially since he seems to have fallen off the face of the earth as well. At least Andy Marsden (the comic relief and one of my favorite characters in this series) has considerable time spent on him, mainly dealing with his anxiety and confusion over Six Hansen, the perky sophomore he's asked out on a couple of dates. Good ending between these two, by the way.

Overall, this is a good addition to the SVHSY series. Jessica and Ken fans should like this one especially since there's more character development of each one.

4-0 out of 5 stars NO WILL?
OK, I know that Will is a total pig. He let Jessica's life become trashed all for his crazy girlfriend who should be put in front of a firing squad. But I think that after all the hard work that Jessica put into getting Will, she should at least have been able to continue seeing him instead of grungy, hug-the-trees Evan. I think she deserves someone better than Evan, and even though Will is a jerk I think he and Jessica compliment each other perfectly as a couple..

    4-0 out of 5 stars IT's good
Well, Ken finds out his dad has a girlfriend. Who seems pretty cool to me. So he's dealing with his dad dating and stuff. Conner and liz are basically agruing the whole book because Liz has to work alot and Everytime they do see each other it's with other people and he wonts to be alone with her. Jess askes Evan out. They have an ok time. Jeremy ask Jess to an award show. She agrees as friends. Evan gets jealous and they agrue. Becasue he was going to ask her to there with him. They end up.... ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars good book
Well I bought this book mainly cuz I'm hooked on the Senior Year series. But I did like it alot. 3 guys (very different guys I might add) go on a road trip to visit Jeremy's family in Arizona so he can help them get settled in. Jeremy is really uptight, Evan is really wild and loose, and Conner is just quiet. It's hard for them all to get along (well, for Jeremy to get along with the other two really), with their different personalities. But a quick side trip to Vegas changes that. Some side stories are : Ken and his U. Mich. scholarship, Tia/Trent development, and there is small mention of Liz and Jessica on a "road trip" of their own. Anyway, it's a great book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Low on Melodrama (A GOOD Thing!)
This was definitely the funniest of all the SVH Senior Year Books. There's usually some overblown drama going on (no date for a dance, I miss my girlfriend, my boyfriend's an alcoholic, etc.) and this one was mainly about fun. If you've read the previous 31 books, you'll recognize the 3 guys on the cover as Jeremy, Conner, and Evan. The 3 of them are on a Road Trip to Arizona, Jeremy to help his family in his new home, and Conner & Evan just for the ride. Jeremy's uptight Mr. Perfect personality is completely opposite from those of Conner & Evan which makes for interesting company on the road. In the other books, Jeremy's been tightly wound, but always described as a nice guy, of course from his girlfriend's perspective. What makes this book interesting and very funny is that we see not only Jeremy, but Evan and Conner and other characters from the perspectives of people they don't know that well. There are also a few surprises, so don't read ahead!

4-0 out of 5 stars Could have been better....
Well, first of all, this book could have done with a better introduction. It's always very important to have a good and solid, not to mention interesting, introduction;to build up the story. The previous books in this series have been nicely told and leaves almost every reader happy.Unfortunately, this particular book is sadly lacking, both mentally and physically. It's been an effort just to finish this book, and even then, you're left with the feeling that you're somehow cheated;especially when that scheming little witch,Melissa Fox,doesn't get what she deserves.Even the author's attempt to make her more human in the past is totally obliterated here;and the good guys, well, they still remain ultimate fools in the end. Conner is still a jerk and makes a decision that would not be agreed by some readers.Jeremy tries to break loose of his rigid nature with the help of Conner and Evan;and in the process, finds that life isn't so bad when you learn to live and let live. The other main character in the book is Ken,and what he does when he learns of a shameful and painful secret;one that destroys everything that he believes in and leaves him shattered. All in all,the book can only be rated as mediocre;the only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I've always been an avid fan of Sweet Valley;no matter what the shortcomings.I only hope the author will endeavor to at least make sure that Melissa Fox will get what she richly deserves.Or something along those lines... ... 4-0 out of 5 stars I luv it! (Even though I'm too young to read this) :)
I luv this book alot! The reason I gave 4 stars was that spoiled brat Jade. I can't stand her! I don't think Jade and Jeremy are together. Jess and Jeremy are together b/c they're sensitive so they can relate to each other. I think Jade is good for Evan Plummer, though. Think about it! If you read SVH, SVJH, SVU, SVT (Well, not really.) and other series I read, it's all about romance. Who's together and who's not and well... Ok, so about Will and Liss, I think Melissa is too much of a prissy. She's a follower, too; always following Will like a puppy dog. Will is SSSSSOOOOO stupid! He's a liar, too. I think Will is too absent-minded. And his football scholarship is taken away b/c of a knee injury and he deserves it b/c all he cares is about football and his grades stinx. Ken takes Will's place and I think Ken is good for Maria.

Sorry for the babbling about only Will, Liss, and Ken. There were more characters, Andy tells Conner he's gay and is laughed at. I don't think Tee was in it much but she should get over Conner like he's in luv w/HER. I always end up the topic away and babble. ;)

4-0 out of 5 stars Melissa gets what she deserves...
I really liked this book a lot. Melissa's bad karma comes back to her- big time. I'm glad something bad finally happened to her because she was so mean to all the other characters. Will also gets what he deserves when he hurts his knee. I'm not going to tell you exactly what happened because I hate when people spoil the end. I also feel bad for Andy and Liz. Conner might turn out to be an alcoholic like his mom. I guess we'll have to see...

5-0 out of 5 stars Book #20 in SVH Senior Year Series
In "Nothing Is Forever," Will Simmons and Melissa Fox are still in seventh heaven over Will's scholarship at the University of Michigan, while Ken Matthews is just the opposite. He's jealous of Will's success, and completely crushed by his father's blatant disappointment in him. I never paid a lot of attention to Ken's storyline before, but I could really empathize with him in this book.

Next up, Jeremy Aames wants to quit at House of Java for obvious reasons--both his exes work there. But Jessica Wakefield is trying to get Jade Wu fired instead. Finally!

Andy Marsden reemerges from the shadows and outs himself to Conner McDermott, but without the reaction he thought he'd get. And Conner...well, nothing much has changed there. He's still stumbling around drunk, as usual.

This was a good SVHSY book, but it certainly wasn't exceptional. Nothing really new or dramatic happened, and the ending wasn't a big surprise either, considering the book title and foreshadowing on page 92. Still, worth a "5" for the writing.

5-0 out of 5 stars GOOD
I rate all SVSY books 5 stars becuz they're all really good even if there are some better than others. I cannot stand Conner in this book. He's angry with his mother for actually being there for him when that's what he's wanted all his life. I mean, he saw the effects of alcohol on her and hated it and now he's turning into an alcoholic. And why is he drinking anyways? He got back together with Liz and he even told her he loved her and she said the same to him. And now he's chewing her out when she tries to help him. He thinks the world sucks when it's just him. Also, Ken's dad is sooo mean. He literally told him he was a loser. But I was really happy for Ken when he got to play in the football game. And I was really glad when he leveled his dad with a cold stare when his dad was suddenly proud of him. I couldn't believe I actually felt sorry for Will and Melissa when he got injured, but I was. And Jess and Jeremy belong together. But I think she sorta did deserve the dissing he gave her when she took him to the beach to prove Jade was cheatin on him, but I guess that was in the last book. I'm glad Jess is firing Jade who, by the way, I've never liked. She's too sarcastic and, I mean, if she still actually thinks cheating on Jeremy was okay (which she does) then she has some serious problems. I was really glad Jeremy made up with Jess and I really don't want him to quit either. And why is everybody just throwing the whole Andy/gay issue aside. It's like he just told them and they were like "Good for you, now back to my problem". Okay, maybe not quite that rude, but still. Overall, this wasn't the best book but it was good.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good but dissapointed by the outcome
This book was really good but before i bought it i read the back and I thoght there was gonna be this whole breakup thing with Will and Melissa but there was nothing!! Actully something REALLY big happens to Will but no breakup. This wasnt one of my favorites in the series but you have to read it to know whats going on. I do believe that besides the whole Melissa Will thing everything is good. You should still get the book though. Conner and Liz are having problems again and Maria is trying to help Ken out with all his "dad" problems and Ken gets his big break!! I was exited for him!! Tia is the same but something big happens to Andy. I felt so bad for him!! Get this book but dont expect a lot from the Melissa and Will ending. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Sweet Valley High: Senior Year #7
Following the events in "Your Basic Nightmare" (#6), "Boy Meets Girl" (#7) makes some interesting changes in the main character's lives. For starters, Jeremy Aames finally asks Jessica Wakefield out on a few dates after their first kiss in the previous book. However, their dates never seem to go as planned, and they both begin to have their doubts about whether or not they should continue seeing each other. Plus, there's that added tension with Will Simmons showing up on one of their nights out. His appearance would seem harmless (after all, Jess swears she's over him), but if you read on, you'll see why it's not.

Next up is Melissa Fox, who is hospitalized after trying to kill herself in book #6, right after Will Simmons broke up with her. Most everybody feels guilty about this incident, especially Jess and Will, yet that's not stopping either one of them from thinking about each other. Could there still be some possible chemistry between these two? (I hope not. Jess seems happy enough with Jeremy, without Will ruining things.)

And lastly: Maria Slater had caught Elizabeth Wakefield and Conner McDermott kissing, and now she's not speaking to either one of them, mostly Liz though. And not surprisingly, Conner is now avoiding Liz, too, so she can "work things out" with Maria. More like so he can leave the "relationship" quietly.

There were some really good lists, journal entries, and assignments in "Boy Meets Girl", in particular Liz's freestyle writing assignment about the meaning of love and Maria's "Why Books Are Better Than People" list (my favorite). This is probably one of the better books I've read so far in this series. Jessica is finally back to her old self, worrying about boys and appearances, plus being more assertive, which was the biggest character trait missing in the previous six SVHSY books. "Boy Meets Girl" is worth reading if you finally want to see Melissa get her comeuppance and Jessica land on her two feet again. For readers age 12+

    5-0 out of 5 stars it's a great book
i think that jeremy and jessica made a great couple and jessica should forget about will. jeremy is a much better choice than will.i hope that jessica won't break up with jeremy just because of will. maria should get over the fact that elizabeth is in love with conner.melissa got what she deserved.i can't wait to read the next book!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Boy meets Girl
My book was about the senior year when the guys finally meet the girl of their dream. This guy name Jeremy meets the girl of his dream her name is Jessica Wakefield, who has a twin sister name Elizabeth Wakefield. But their is a little problem that jeremy has everytime he wants to go out with Jessica something has to go wrong. they never get to see each other until the last minute. this book is very interested for young girl like me, i guaranteed that you will enjoy reading this book. if you really want to know what your senior year will kind of be when you finally get there or if you are already their you make think its kind of what you went thru.

4-0 out of 5 stars boy meets girl
I love the whole jessica and jeremy thing, i think he is really good for her. i just wish she would get over will, he is a jerk. i feel bad melissa tried to kill herself, but i mean over a guy? really... melissa is supposed to be super cool, but why is it everytime her and will break up she goes mental? she is not exactly stable... conner is annoying and liz is annoying for trying to be with someone like that. he isn't worth her or maria's time.

5-0 out of 5 stars pretty darn good
This was a really good book. It just didn't have enough Liz/Connor interaction for me. I think Connor is being a jerk at the end. I like how it ended with Jessica and Will makin up and Jessica and Jeremy getting together though. I also like the friendship developing between Ken and Maria. Overall, a very good book. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars senior cut day
i thought that this book was ok, but not really all that. it had a kind of bittersweet edge to it... u can feel that they are wrapping up their senior year and things are going to change soon. i was really disappointed that conner and liz didn't end up together, after all that they been through. jade annoyed me through this whole thing because she was so whiny.

4-0 out of 5 stars this is so sad
i cna't believe connor and liz don't get 2gether. they were great 2gether. i reread all of the scenes of them 2 2gether. i was hopin they wud kiss in senior cut day. they were the best relationship ever. i hope pascal brings him bak and sweet vally BETTA have not ended. i live 2 read these books. i am so depressed i want dem 2 b 2gether(god im sad)

3-0 out of 5 stars an ok book
I bought this book along with Sweet 18, thinking I should read Senior Cut Day first, let me tell you, I didn't have to. It is all focused around the twins, their friends and their senior cut day where they decide to go to Universal Studios. Jessica and Trent get cast as extras in a movie leaving Jeremy and Jade to commiserate together. Elizabeth and Conner talk about their relationship, or lack of. And Tia and Andy's boyfriends realize they shouldn't be on the road trip with them and Conner. All in all, an ok book.

4-0 out of 5 stars Pleased yet displeased
Okay, big fan of the whole liz conner thing...i just hated it when it ended. And i was totally happy when the whole alaina thing ended. Though i have to say, as a whole, we readers are being toyed with. Yes/no, no/yes. Though i have to admit thats what has kept me interested. Conner and liz, there will never be another couple like them. This book has some seriously good parts, for all us Liz and Conner fans. Overall, it was good, though slightly disapointing. Im still holding out for them.

2-0 out of 5 stars One of Those Books You Just Want To Throw Across The Room
When I read Prom Night, I COULD NOT wait until Senior Cut Day. Finally, the witch was dead(Alanna), and Conner and Elizabeth had already established a friendship. This is the second last series of the book, and you'd think the author would just make us happy and bring Liz and Conner back together. Well... that isn't the case, and it was definitely what I've been waiting for ever since they broke up, so I'm giving this book 2 stars. Some parts were cute, but I was just too disappointed. ... Well not when anna knew about them kissing.( it was really romantic when sal & liz kiss in steven's room)That happens when liz and jess parents are out and they planned a party. They thought its going to be cool but it turns out the other way.The party is getting wild, half of the people there, are drunk. And anna ran out of the house coz seing the people get drunk remmember her of her bro, who died because he was hit bye a bunch of drunk high school boys. and liz invite her ex- boyfriend to the party. Sal gets nervous afraid liz wil like back her ex.There is so much more. YOU MUST READ IT!

5-0 out of 5 stars This Book Was Great!
I loved how this series is going so far! It's confusing and happy and dramatic all in one! It's a mixed emotions type of book. I have read all of the books and I can't wait for the next one to come out! I can't wait to see what happens with Elizabeth and Salvador! It's a great book and I loved it! I also am wondering what will happen with Jessica, that either she'll get a boy friend or if she'll be friends with a new girl, etc. Lizzie is my main person I can't wait to see what happens with though! The other characters I want to learn a little more about like Kristin and Bethel. Well, read this book and the rest of the series! Happy Reading!

When I saw this book in ......, I quickly bought it and read it right away. We was meeting my boyfriend who was a truck driver so when we got there 45 minutes later, I finished the book because it was so good. I wanted to own all Sweet Valley High Senior Year books. They are the best books I ever read even better than Sweet Valley Junior High!

5-0 out of 5 stars Good
This was a pretty good book. It's mainly about Trent getting into UCLA so his parents buy him a car. After that he starts partying and getting a little carried away with things and there's a big accident in the end. This is also about Jade's Dad deciding not to pay for her college education unless she goes to Oregon. Tia's decided to not go to college next year. There's also a big part about Jessica and Elizabeth. Jessica feels lonely because there's nothing big going on in her life like there is in everybody elses. Elizabeth enters a contest to win a scholarship to a school in England, while Jessica thinks the only good thing in her life right now is that Elizabeth will be going to SVU with her. Jeremy gets an acceptance letter to the University of Arizona which upsets Jessica even more. It was a pretty good book in my opinion.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not worth your $'s
This book isn't all that great. Trent gets accepted into a premed program, so his parents buy him a car, and he starts blowing off schoolwork because "his life is set." Tia and Jeremy keep telling him he's got a problem, he doesn't listen, and at the end of the book he ends up crashing his car into a tree. Yeah, great book.
Jessica's feeling ignored and worthless because nobody thanked her for organizing her parents anniversary party, and then Jeremy tells her he's going to college in Arizona after all.
At the Scope office Liz finds out about a contest for high school seniors to win a scholarship to some school in England, so she decides to enter. She writes a story about the European music scene (or something like that) with the help of her little whipping boy Jeff. Then Liz feels guilty because Jess tells her how happy she is that they'll be going to SVU together. This whole storyline is pointless, really, because we all know Liz ends up at SVU anyway. ... I REALLY WASN'T SUPRISED AT ALL BY THE JESSICA AND TRENT THING. CAN'T NONE OF THESE GIRLS STAY SETTLED WITH ONE GUY EXCEPT FOR MELLISA FOX AND THAT BOGGLES MY MIND. AND THE OTHER THING LIZ REALLY NEED A MAN. IT'S KIND OF STRANGE THAT CONNER JUST MOVED ON IN 5 MINUTES AND SHE CAN'T FIND ANYONE. I THINK SHE SHOULD FIND A GUY AND CONNER SHOULD BE JEALOUS BECAUSE HE PUT THAT POOR GIRL THROUGH SO MUCH AND JUST STEPPED ON HER.

    3-0 out of 5 stars Don't worry, I won't give anything away
This was one of those SVH books that made me wonder why I even bother reading the series. I knew there'd be a cliff hanger, which there was since on Sweetvalley.com #33 is still shown as the most recently published book.
All I can say is don't worry if the troubled couples will prevail in the end. It's teen fiction. You know they will. So don't expect any surprises -- or real life, however you want to put it -- to make an appearance in this series. This book was so fake because everytime someone falls into some other melodramatic storyline, it's because they always storm out of the room before the person they're angry at can explain themself.
What you should look forward to is Liz getting a new boyfriend soon enough. In one of the 1st person narratives, she hints at being ready to have another relationship. THAT'S what everyone should be anxious to see in the next book, not the people on the cover.

3-0 out of 5 stars One of the least interesting of SVH senior year...
This book had three subplots. One was about Jessica and Trent having chemistry, and the implications while planning Jeremy's surprise party. Another was Maria having issues about her schoolwork and somewhat neglecting Ken. The last was Alanna making Conner meet her parents. I found this book to be one of the least funny and entertaining of all of the senior year series. I hope the next book is up to normal standards. ... Read more

Example, Liz finds conner & Tia in bed together , Conner starts drinking , Andy Breaks up with six , Andy's Thinks He Might Be [homosexual] ,Jeremy Hooks Up With Jade , Jessica gets Jealous , And A interesting thing Happens to will and Evan.*And another good point, Melissais not Mentioned alot* Its filled with suspense , and action .Its a awesome MUST read book!

4-0 out of 5 stars What do we know?
In this book, Tia thinks she has "feelings" for Conner. The question is: does she really start to like Conner in "that way" or is she just missing Angel. This book, just like the other books in this series, gives a twisting turn to something that started out NOT complicated. Also, do we know that Conner has feelings for Tia? Not in this book. Another problem in the book has to do with Andy. Yes, finally Andy has a problem! Andy is feeling confused about his situation. He is allowed to be confused. It's not stupid that the author of this book decided to give Andy a problem of his own. Everyone else always has problems and they always go to Andy. Let Andy go to them with his own problem for once. Now, about Jessica, its normal (for her) to be kinda jealous about Jade & Jeremy. Since when did Jade want to work at HOJ? Jess was just starting to put her life back together and Jade is kind of making it hard for her by having Jeremy following her (Jade) around the place. Last but not least we come to Elizabeth. Liz has a right to be completely upset and angry at Conner and Tia. How would a normal person feel if she walked into her friends room and found her friend and her boyfriend laying down next to e/other- early in the morning? Ok, ok, I'll stop telling the readers exactly what happens in the book, so I'll leave you with this.

5-0 out of 5 stars Book 17 in SVH Senior Year Series
After catching Conner McDermott and Tia Ramirez in bed together in the previous book ("Three Girls and a Guy"), Elizabeth Wakefield is ready to call it quits with Conner--and Tia, for that matter--not that I blame her.

While these three are in a major turmoil, Jeremy Aames hits it off well with the new House of Java employee, Jade Wu, to Jessica Wakefield's dismay, even though Jeremy and Jess have been broken up for weeks now. Jade also seems to bringing the unruly side of him out, which may or may not be a good thing, especially when she almost gets him in trouble at work.

Most of the emphasis in "Backstabber" is on Conner, Tia, and Elizabeth. That's all well and good (though I'm disliking Conner more and more with each new book), but what happened to another big issue at hand: Andy Marsden's being gay, which was revealed in the previous book? That didn't go into depth at all here, just a couple journal entries by him. I'm still surprised that such a topic would be brought up in a Sweet Valley book, but it's a storyline I really look forward to watching unfold, especially since Andy's one of my favorite characters.

4-0 out of 5 stars A Good Buy!
I personally feel that this book it's worth a buy this is because the author finally give us some answers which have kept us in suspense almost everytime on the other series.Like the one between Tia and Conner who think that they might have feelings for each another. As for Jeremy i felt that the author has finally gave the poor guy a chance after being dump by Jessica for Will he finally might find someone that he really like and worth liking too.Anyway thumbs up to the author for creating this series.I'll definitely recommend all this to my other Malaysian friends.

4-0 out of 5 stars this book was good ,but a little dissapointing
in this book tia , finds out she has other feeligs for conner. if you read #16 (3 girls and a guy) you will know why everyone is soticked off at tia and conner. also andy starts to question his sexuality.this wasn't talked about alot in the book. jade and jermey start being really close and jessica is annoyed and jealous.i like this book especially the last chapeter. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars pretty cool...
overall this book was pretty good. melissa's goin through tough times again as will cheats on her AGAIN, this time w/ the "coolest person 2 ever walk the halls of el carro high," erika brooks. her supposed "friends" aren't there 4 her and will's bein a total [jackass]. jessica's the only one who's concerned bout her eventhough melissa's been nothin but a btch 2 her. she constantly tries 2 talk 2 her, even tries 2 enlist lila's help in seein what's wrong w/ her, and in the end jessica sacrifices her night 2 help out melissa. i thought that that was VERY cool of jessica. i know if someone had treated me the way melissa fox had treated jessica, i'd probably just sit back and laugh in melissa's face. but, anyways, this book was pretty cool.

4-0 out of 5 stars Best of Enemies
Well I think the book was good, melisa is having difficult times after will cheated on her with ERIKA BROOKS !! she is trying to make him jelous by going to the dance with some other guy, and she gets drunk and makes a fool of herself. jessica wakefield helps Melisa and takes her home even though Melissa has made her life almost imposible, but in the end is worth it.

4-0 out of 5 stars best of enemies
I thought this was a really good book. i feel bad for melissa because will is [weak] for cheating on her with erika brooks, who is just trying to live her glory days again through him. she doesn't even act like she likes him... jessica really surprised me when she helps her out. it really shows how much jessica has changed for the better this year and i think alot of it has to do with jeremy.

4-0 out of 5 stars go jessica

4-0 out of 5 stars Awesome
I thought this one kind of gave a break from the same old Liz/Conner stories. Apparenlty, it really is over for them, so we'll all just have to deal with it. This one let us see other issues, like Liz's internship and Ken's scholarhsip decision. I especially liked the Ken and Maria scenes. Overall, I thought it was a really good one.

3-0 out of 5 stars Didn't we read this before?
When I read the book about Elizabeth's internship,it somehow reminded me about Sweet Valley High when she got another internship. The plot's about the same.
And I really wish that Will just dump Melissa for good,he deserves someone better than her.
Only Jessica's attitude in the book kept me reading the book.

3-0 out of 5 stars Pathetic
I think this book was seriously boring..i haven't had a chance to read Road Trip yet but only because my local book store is lacking in their so called quest to supply us....but anyway i think Will just needs to dump Melissa, she's screwed up too many times and all she ever does is hurt people, including himself..Ken never did anything to her but yet she continues to beat him up on things that don't apply to her. As for Maria, she needs to be there for Ken, but at the same time be there for herself, if she keeps acting like she did in this book shes going to end up hating Ken in the end for 'ruining her life'..as for Jeremy and Jess, they need to stay together..and romance the authors are thinking of throwing in between her and Trent will be totally tiring..i'm sick of jess hoping from man to man..she finally found the 'one'..why cant things just stay that way..i also think conner needs to dump Alana and go back to Liz...there were the bet part of the series...the book i could say lacked because it was 100% CONNER-LESS!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Book!
This book was better than some of the other new books in the series. Tia gets a boyfriend and Ken makes a choice about a scolarship he didn't earn. Melissa and Will fight and Elizabeth becomes a completely differant person for a while!

4-0 out of 5 stars It was okay
I thought this book was ok, but it lacked alot of action. I guess it's just that what I really want to happen (Conner and Liz getting back together) isn't any closer to happening. But, in this book, you see Trent and Tia starting to date and being all lovey and happy toward each other, and the continuing saga of Ken's bribed scholarship. Also, some things happen with Jade and Evan. And of course, it's about Elizabeth getting really busy doing things for HER that end up hurting other people, and almost ruining some of her friendships. That's about it. It definately wasn't my favorite of the series, but it was okay. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great- A total change of pace!
This is one of my favorite SV books. It is kinda refreshing to see a whole new side of Liz- i definitely like it(even though I would like to see her get back together w/ todd). There are also a lot new great, dimensional characters. All in all, a fantastic book. I can't wait for the next one. i read this book in about an hour and I'm really wanting #2. Go out and buy it. i promise you won't be disappointed. Feel free to email me if you want to talk about sweet valley or this series. I would love to hear from you!

5-0 out of 5 stars Changes, changes, changes
One thing that negative reviewers should realize is that CHANGE is not always bad! I have read books from the old SVH series, and I definately liked them, but the senior year series is different but cool. Sure, alot of the old characters are gone, like Todd and Olivia, etc. But, let's be open-minded. This series is more realistic, if you ask me. Even fictional characters aren't always going to have a perfect life. Sure Conner is a jerk sometimes, and TOTALLY not Liz's type, but that is the way REAL teenager's minds work. Think about it - just because this beginning-of-a-series is different, doesn't mean that it is bad. This book shows realistic teenage life - complete with real disasters, "romance," and stress, stress, stress. I commend Francine Pascal for creating a more TODAY kind of book. It is awesome, and I am going to read ALL of the SVH Senior Year books!

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome
Okay here it is in a nutshell. El Carro High got smashed in the quake so they join SVH. Liz meets an obnoxious jerk and starts to crush on him. Meanwhile Jessica meets this "awesome" guy Will Simmons and they seeem perfect for eachother. To bad he has the worst girlfriend in the history of ever. Melissa finds out about the two of them and goes into psychotic-frenzy mode. Overall an awesome book.

5-0 out of 5 stars The start of an addiction...
Okay, when I first picked up this book four years ago I wasn't sure what to expect. I was an avid Sweet Valley High fan - still am, of course! - but this book seemed so different from its predecessor. The cover was different, the blurb was different, the model was different... the entire feel of Sweet Valley High had changed. And I wasn't totally sure how I felt about that. However, I bought it and decided to give it a go; and now I am SO glad I did.
Certainly, the Sweet Valley High we once knew and still love is gone; replaced by a more realistic version. Elizabeth and Jessica are no longer the Blonde Wonder Twins, but twin sisters with real teenage problems. Liz can't get used to her new life at the Fowler's, and Jess has fallen hard for one of the new El Carro students, who is almost too perfect to be true. Along the way we are introduced to some new faces, such as Tia, Andy, Conner, Angel and Evan... but at the same time we lose some of the favorites, such as Winston, Enid, Robin and Maria Santelli. Of course, this only shows us just how much Sweet Valley High has changed - and, after reading this book, in my opinion it's a change for the better. The old SVH was great, but "Can't Stay Away" is a book in which its readers can actually relate to. I reccommend it to any Sweet Valley fan or hater; it's definitely worth
