5-0 out of 5 stars "Do you love me mama?"
My Three year old daughter loves this beautiful book, especially the "Do you love me mama?" line. She asks questions about the mama and its baby and why they look alike and how they differ. This is now my favorite book to read to my daughter when putting her to bed. This is a must own book!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Heartwarming Book
Within 2 weeks of reading this book, my daughter knows the catch phrase, I love you forever, and ever, and always. It is heartwarming to have her sit in your lap and read along about the "wild creatures" and their offspring. I really enjoy this book especially because my daughter calls me Mama, and there aren't many books that refer to the mother by that term! So, it's especially dear to me!

5-0 out of 5 stars I love this book!
I read this book almost every night to my 7 week old daughter ... . I bought it from the bookstore and it is a favorite. The book is very melodic when read aloud and lulls my littleone to sleep. What a wonderful book!

5-0 out of 5 stars "Must Read" lists should include this book
This is a book that no toddler's shelve should be without.

The text echoes the love of mothers for their children in nature and at home. The gentle watercolors and soothing text are perfect for bed time or quiet time. The message that love and natural order are the way things should be is reassuring to little ones (and to their parents).

This book always accompanies my first birthday presents to my friends' little ones.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Bedtime Must Have
Our daughter has loved this book since the very first time we read it to her when she was about 10 months. It is a last-thing-at-night ritual now and she won't let us miss it. She even "reads" it to her dollies and stuffed animals in her crib. The gentle story and charming illustrations are what make this book so special. It makes a super baby shower gift, too! ... Book Description

"Deep in a tree trunk by a woodland grove, a fox kit asks, 'How am I special?' And her Mama and Papa reply, 'Dear little one, with your glossy red coat and swift running body, you are so special - and we will love you forever and ever and ever.' With lyrical text and lush watercolors, Nancy Tafuri follows I LOVE YOU, LITTLE ONE with a celebration of the ways all creatures are special. Ranging from penguins in the Antarctic to lions on the savanna, baby animals around the world are told just how special they are, And lastly, a human child is praised for his curious mind and loving heart.

4-0 out of 5 stars small error
As a children's library clerk, I see many such books in the course of my work. This is a lovely picture book; however, one thing bothers me: the baby fox is repeatedly referred to, both in the blurb and the actual text, as a 'fox cub'. Baby foxes are not cubs. They are kits. I hope this will be corrected in later editions. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Enchanting. Deserves it's award
This book is filled with lovely pictures of a mother duck as she searches for her baby who wandered off.

The pictures are wonderful. The few repetitive words there are encourage my child to 'read' the book. He also loves finding the duck on every page.

I wish I could find more books like this one- simple, gorgeous pictures, a nice story with a happy ending, a lot of opportunity for other activities while you read. We find the missing duck, count the ducklings, look at the pretty colors, look for other animals and more.

5-0 out of 5 stars A few words, and a search.
This book is about a mother duck that cannot find one of her ducklings. She goes around asking the other denizens of the pond if they have seen it. The fun thing is that, if you look, you will find where the duckling is.

There are few words in this book, so be aware of the reading level (baby-preschool). However, the artwork is very well done, and the fun of having the little reader find the missing duckling on each page makes the whole thing worthwhile.

5-0 out of 5 stars A must for your child's bookshelf!
This beautiful book is loved by all children. It is very simple and beautifully illustrated. The little duckling is always nearby. Your children can help find him on each page. An absolute delight. Highly recommended!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great to develop observation skills of toddlers.
My 2 year-old loves this book. We borrowed it from the army library and now we have to buy it. My daughter loves to search for the missing duckling on each page.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent reading fun with my babies.
Nancy is my cousin. So I am somewhat biased in my opinion. But I must say that I have passed this book on to all 13 of my step-grandchildren and every preschool teacher I have known. It is excellent group reading, as the children get so excited when they see the duckling and Mommy Duck doesn't. Thanks Nancy for the legacy. ... Read more

Here is a beautiful and unique picture book in turn-around format about the concept of day and night. Open the book, and the sun rises to reveal blue skies, crowded barnyards, and bustling streets. 5-0 out of 5 stars We like this book
My four-year-old loves this imaginative book, and so do his father and I. We are fond of Nancy Tafuri's style of illustration and have some of her other books, all of which we enjoy. I think flipping the book over to read about the sun/moon fascinates our son. The comparison of what goes on in the daytime and nighttime stimulates imagining of what our "daytime" places are like at night. The book is short and simple, but sometimes that's what we want -- especially when we want a short bedtime book! Overall, this book is pleasant and soothing, not spectacular but attractive, fun, and definitely worth reading.

3-0 out of 5 stars Just ok
I thought this book was rather pricy for such a short book. Each page contains only 1 sentance and the art work was just ok. It didn't capture my childs attention at all. The idea was good but the story lacked any climax. It was nothing to get excited about. The only high point in this book was the price.

4-0 out of 5 stars Keeps the interest of the Children!
This book was read in my class, by me to 4 and 5 year olds. They liked the large size and colorful pictures. When the book is over, just flip it over and find out what the moon sees. Two books in one! A great deal. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I LOVE this sweet little story!
I've been reading this book to my daughter for years (she's 4 now). It's a simple story, beautifully illustrated that touches on shyness, friendship and helping others.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Very Lovely Story.
Our 22 month old daughter loved the book the moment we read it. This is a wonderful story about a rabbit offering to help a bird hide away from the rain and becoming a good friend. We re-read it 5 times in the first sitting and this book continues to be a staple bedtime read.

5-0 out of 5 stars Will you be my friend: A Bunny and a Bird Story.
This is a darling story of how a bunny and bird become friends. The pictures are soft and look like water colors. I have read this book to my preschool children (4-5 year olds) and they loved it! It is a great story to introduce spring, or reinforce friendship and helping. It is a wonderful story and I recommed it highly. ... Read more

We initially chose this book at the library because it had wonderful drawings of farm animals, especially dogs and cats, and a nice rhythm. But my 16-month-old daughter wouldn't let us put the book back on the shelf after reading it so we checked it out.
