Book Description

One day in Teletubbyland, a little lamb appears from far away. The Teletubbies think the little lamb is sad, so they try to make it happy. But the little lamb is still sad. Then the Teletubbies hear a noise that makes the little lamb very happy. What could it be? ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Little Lamb not half Baaaaaaad!
As with Flying Kites and the Magic Hat, this edition of the Teletubbies teaches a simple concept, in this case the emotions happy and sad. My toddler son Alex loves it and gives it two thumbs up! Maybe its the sound effects or maybe its the love and empathy that the teletubbies show to each other. I'll never know. What I do know is that it is one of the few books that he will actually sit and listen to being read and that deserves 5 stars in my book! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Confusing, but the kids seem to like it
To be honest, I'm fairly clueless about these dancing fat English things with TVs in their abdomens. And my little grandkids don't seem to like them much either. But I have two teenage grandchildren, and they always seem to put the tapes in late at night, especially when they get home from a big party wearing those glow-in-the-dark bracelets. They lie around and watch the show, and they read the book, and they particularly seemed to love TELETUBBIES LIKE TO DANCE! To be honest, I'm not sure why; but I'm all in favor of anything that gets these kids to show an interest in reading. Thanks, Teletubbies. Whatever you're doing. Keep it up.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not worth the money - get other ones instead
Very few pages, and not enough variety on the ones that are present. BORING.. even to my baby- who loves the other Teletubby books.

2-0 out of 5 stars For the completists only
This book and "Play Hide and Seek" have the best artwork of the Teletubbies (real art, not screen grabs from TV like so many other books).

That's all it's got going for it. At only 12 pages (not 24 as stated above) and less than 50 words total, it's just inadequate for any but the tiniest tots just getting interested in books, and for those I'd recommend the smaller (cheaper) board books. ... Read more

From the supplier: Teletubbies is a BBC television program for preschool children whose characters came from an IKEA catalog. Critics of BBC can point to the program as proof that it is being too wasteful or too tight-fisted, too left-wing or too liberal.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Book
This book was great for my 2yr old toddler but the stickers are not re-usable as the previous review said. They will tear and not stick again if you try to use them again. Still it was fun to use it for the first time.

4-0 out of 5 stars Enthralling
My 18 month old daughter absolutely loves the teletubbies so this sticker book was a sure fire hit.

She was enthralled for hours (particularly useful for our plane and car trip) and loved the re-usable stickers which can be applied to absolutely any surface (car or plane window for example).

A great treat for her and a wonderful way to keep her occupied and happy! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars book folds out into a Laa-Laa figure
You can't really tell from the above picture (notice the folded-over tab, which is the end of Laa-Laa's antenna), but this book unfolds to make a 15-inch Laa-Laa and the book is attached to her stomach, sort of like watching the video displays on the Tubbies' tummies. Same with the other "Come and See" books with Po, Dipsy, and Tinky-Winky. It's a cute package. ... Read more

Book Description

In this flip-flap board book, the Teletubbies play a fun game of follow-the-leader. Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa, and Po take turns waving, jumping, turning around, and bumping tummies while the others follow their movements. Young readers can lift the flaps and play follow-the-leader with the Teletubbies as well! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Typical tubbie story
My 2 boys really like the tubbies and when they first saw their friends in this book they looked thrilled. The story is very simple and follows the story format of the show. "Hello" in the beginning, simple story about the tubbies favorite things-Tinky Winky saves the day by "finding" the missing favorite things, then the familiar "goodbye's". The pictures are large and clear. Simple concepts are covered like inbetween, behind,in front of, beside, high and low.

5-0 out of 5 stars Teletubbies
Another favorite for my 15 m.o. teletubby fan

4-0 out of 5 stars Great for kids who love hide and seek
My 18 month old nephew really enjoys this book. Of course, he loves anything related to peek-a-boo. I like that the teletubbies are so original (and less boring for me, particularly after a dozen consecutive viewings) compared to more generic children's characters such as Pooh and Disney.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best of the Teletubbies collection
My 18-month old daughter adores the Teletubbies and seems to enjoy this book more than the others in the Teletubbies collection. The pictures are bright, large, and clear (unlike those found in the small boardbooks). The story focuses on the toys the Teletubbies play with and invites the child to match each toy to the appropriate Teletubby. Nuu-nuu does not appear in this book; however, that is okay with me as he scares my daughter. In my opinion, this book is one of the few Teletubbies marketing materials worth buying. ... Read more

From the supplier: The BBC Teletubbies television show imported to PBS stations received notoriety when Reverend Jerry Falwell insisted one of the characters was damaging childrens' morals by modeling a gay lifestyle. The Teletubbies show, which was created to help educate preschool children, shows no evidence of doing so. Falwell missed the mark by not attacking PBS for importing a television show that had no proven educational value.

4-0 out of 5 stars Tinky Winky teaches the color purple
This book unfolds into a 15-inch Tinky Winky. It introduces the color purple on each page. Both my 15-month-old and 6-year-old girls love it.The pictures contain favorite things for toddlers likechildren, balloons, and balls; and the text is simple enough for advanced beginning readers. Tinky Winky is holding his bright red bag on 4 pages. Some parents mayfind this bothersome. It goes unnoticed by my toddler; and my 6-year-oldjust thinks that Tinky Winky is "the mom."It is a sturdy boardbook with the exception of the velcro flap. The flap wears out in a hurry.

4-0 out of 5 stars Tinky Winky
Although it is hard to see from the picture this book folds out to make Tinky Winky. The velcro closing is the antenna and unfolds to the feet. The stomach is a small picture board book. We have the whole set of all four Teletubbies. My 18 month old and 3 year old are big fans. the only problemwith this book is the constant open and closing causes wear and tear on theantenna and will eventually tear. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Bad grammar
This book has nice pictures that my 14 month old enjoys looking at but the story is written with incredibly poor grammar. Is this a teletubbie thing? When we start teaching my son how to read, this book is going to be put away.

5-0 out of 5 stars Lot's of fun for those of age one.
First of all, I read the entire thing while standing in line at the bookstore. It was so good, I had to read it again before I left the store. My son loves to read it (over and over and over and over). ... Read more

From the supplier: The Webster-Kirkwood Times received several letters in reaction to editor-in-chief Don Corrigan's editorial in the Feb 26, 1999 issue on allegations regarding the sexual preference of one of the 'Teletubbies,' Tinky Winky. Corrigan quoted Clint McCann, a professor at the Eden Theological Seminary, as saying that inclusivity and openness should be encouraged. Tinky Winky, who wears the gay pride color of purple and has an antenna shaped like the gay pride symbol of the triangle, is alleged to have become a gay role model and has been adopted by gay groups all over the world as their favorite character.
