Hardcover

When Melissa Kasey died of cancer, she left her twenty-two month old twins, Kyle and Caitlin, and a $10,000 life insurance policy (for the twin's educations), to her brother, Trent. The twin's
natural father, Nathan Winters, who has never shown an interest in the children, in fact, has never even seen them, now shows up and offers to sign away his parental rights, in exchange

for the $10,000. When Trent refuses his offer, Nathan sued for custody of the twins and control of the money. Since Winters is married and Trent isn't, Trent's chances of winning this battle,
looks bleak. His lawyer's advice to Trent? ---- " Elope to Vegas, FAST!!"

Sarah Goldwyne is recovering from a love affair, gone sour, and a miscarriage. She has also been told that due to scarring, she will probably never have another child. She, having given
up all hope of ever marrying and having a family ,moves into a house on the beach. She hopes to build up a dog training business. But before she has even unpacked, she takes a walk on the beach and finds a child, a boy, about two years old, alone. He crawls onto her lap and into her heart. In trying to return him to his parents, she meets Trent and a female
version of the little boy.

When Sarah sees the quality of the people who apply for the position of Nanny, she agrees to take on the job. She quickly comes to love the twins as her own and when Trent tells her
the whole story, she agrees to elope with him to Vegas, a marriage in name only, and only until Trent gains legal custody of the children. Sarah has no intention of falling in love with
Trent. . . . . Yeah, right.

They appear before the judge, married, and the judge, suspicious of the quick marriage, orders a home study, before he'll make a decision. During the time that the study is being done, Trent falls as deeply in love with Sarah, as she is with him and he feels that the twins are enough of a family for them. But how will the judge decide and what affect will the decision have on Trent and Sarah?

Lori Soard has weaved a delightful story of a woman's journey from an unhappy past. It's a heart-tugging story that kept me up all night because I was unable to put it down. Her characters are well developed and pull you into the story from the start. This book is highly recommended for all to read. You'll love it!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Light Romance Suitable for Young Adults
...

Aha! Here is a romance, light as whipped cream, and suitable for the young.

Author Lori Soard sets the pace for "Housebreaking a Husband" with a humorous, romantic and action-packed beginning

A feisty young woman with a scarred past meets a man with heavenly green eyes on the beach behind her home-or rather she entangles that man with a dog, leash, the arms and legs of children and some of her own body parts.

It turns out this man with whom Sarah has become entwined has some scars of his own. He is about to lose custody of two beautiful twins and, excepting for the deep love he feels for them, is determined to be emotionally unavailable to all others.

This romance is titillating but is also so free from explicit sex that it would be suitable for most 14 year olds. Like most families, Sarah's is slightly dysfunctional and quirky and absolutely lovable. it appears that Soard is incapable of formulating a cookie-cutter character. They all have a reality quotient of 10.

This is a story about how love can be corrupted by a lack of communication and by unaddressed fears. There is much more to it than a quick, romantic read.

4-0 out of 5 stars Solid fantasy
A Norse flavor is given to "Troll Fell," a solid and surprisingly imaginative fantasy starting off on a Cinderella note. Katherine Langrish's debut novel has a few dropped threads, but dips into traditional goblins and ghouls as its inspirations. And it's inspired indeed.

Peer's father has died, just after completing a new longship. Enter Baldur, his ogrish uncle, who takes all of Peer's money and drags him and his faithful dog away. Peer's new home is a miserable place, in a land surrounded by angry neighbors and mischief-making trolls. He's treated like a slave by his uncles Baldur and Grim, and his only solace is the Nis (a neglected house sprite) and a girl from the neighboring farm, Hilde.

But things take a nastier turn after Peer encounters the ghoulish Granny Green-teeth: She reveals that at a forthcoming double wedding for troll princes and princesses, the uncles are going to give him as a wedding present. What's worse, they also plan to kidnap Hilde and give HER as a gift too. Determined to save himself, Peer runs away from home -- only to end up right in the trolls' hands...

"Troll Fell" is a good example of what a fantasy should be -- not derivative, well-written, quick-faced and with enough quirks to keep it from being too grim. Langrish doesn't stoop to deus ex machinae, but keeps the plot simple and straightforward, while peppering it with plenty of northern ghoulies, ghosties and long-legged beasties.

Her writing is solid and descriptive, bringing to life everything from the bleak hills to the bizarre underground kingdom of the trolls. Langrish is particularly good at making the readers feel what the characters are feeling, such as Peer's almost crippling claustrophobia, or his horror at seeing faithful dog Loki thrown into a dogfight. A few threads -- such as Granny's threat to Peer -- are left unsatisfied, but a sequel might take care of those.

Peer and Hilde are a good hero and heroine, with their own flaws and squabbles and weaknesses. The supporting cast is equally good -- the scraggly, disgruntled Nis, the stupid lubbers, the grandmotherly yet homicidal pond-dweller Granny Greenteeth, feisty grandpa Eirek, and the greedy, scheming Baldur and Grim.

"Troll Fell" lives up to its promise as a suspenseful, well-written fantasy. Katherine Langrish does a good job, with plenty of promise for her future books.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great fantasy
Peer Ulfsson stands at the funeral of his father, wondering what will happen to him when a big brutish man arrives claiming to be his Uncle Baldur Grimsson, the miller of Trollsvik. The twelve year old had no idea he had a relative, but Baldur with only a nasty word about his dead sibling grabs the lad to yank him back with him. The odious Baldur also takes any money Ulf left behind claiming a debt and even absconds with Peer's ring. Peer leaves with his uncle even while the funeral pyre still burns. When they reach Baldur's home, Peer meets his other uncle Grim, who lives up to his name.

Peer makes friends with the housekeeper Nis the gremlin and with Hilde, whose father is going on a sea voyage. Peer learns that his guardians intend to sell him and Hilde to the troll king who will use them as a wedding present as the trio knows that the finest gift in the land is young human slaves.

The Harry Potter crowd will enjoy this feature length fairy tale mindful of the relationship between the stepmother and Cinderella. The well-written story line hooks the audience who will wonder if the two children can find a way to trump the sneaky trolls and the nasty human adults. The trolls slyly use shadows to cause trouble while the uncles are an unpleasant pragmatic pair rivaling the cruelty of de Cruella. Still the tale belongs to two courageous children and a frightened goblin as they seek a happily ever ending.

But getting a date isn't as easy as they think. Chloe likes a boy named Travis & wants him for a date, the only thing is, she got him in detention! As well as about 5 other kids. Riley. A boy who she hates named Larry is crazy for her. Riley has a friend named Sierra & she is part of a band. Alex thinks they r boyfriend & girlfriend when they aren't. Chloe is doing EVERYTHING she can but it's not working.

It's the Friday, the day of the party & Chloe finally gets in detention by cutting class & throwing her yoghurt on the floor. She goes up 2 Travis & tells him she got detention! But Chloe is shocked when he tells her that he got out of detention early! When they get home, they realise their mum is having a party of her own! What are they gonna do?

I loved this book & any Mary-Kate & Ashley fan will as well. Even if your not a fan you'll still love it!

5-0 out of 5 stars mk and a rock!
Mary Kate and Ashley once again deliver a new series that girls can relate to, and any age can enjoy (I'm 14). I know have all 8 of these So Little Time books and enjoy them very much. In this book we are introduced to Riley and Chloe Carlson, their parents Macy and Jack Carlson, their nanny Manuelo, and Larry, Riley's lovesick classmate (and I don't know why Riley doesn't like him because if you watch the So Little Time show you'll see that Larry is really hot).

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Book!
This is the perfect series to stack up in your shelves, beside your old Sweet Valley Twins books, which is exactly what I'm doing!I like this series VERY much.Chloe is so funny, without meaning to be.It is hilarious when she drinks cold drinks and gets a brain freeze. The twins also discover that dog training books work on boys!!

4-0 out of 5 stars MK & A rule!
This was a good book, at times boring. Just because they wear make up, and are popular, that doesn't mean it's a bad book! It's realistic, because a lot of girls care about how they look. It was also funny, and Chloe must have been embarrassed when she had that brain freeze! It was good. Mary-Kate and Ashley are so cool! But all some people can do is critizice them. They have worked long and hard to get where they r right now. They are incredibly talented.

5-0 out of 5 stars a great book, but lacking depth.
This was a great book, I thought. It was definately a little superficial, but who wants to read serious books anyway? This book was a lot like their movies: totally great but not a whole lot of plot. Don't get me wrong, I love this type of thing. I'm just saying, if you're looking for something serious, this is not the book for you. If you're looking for something fun with no real point, you'll love this book. It was so funny, especially how Chloe was using her dog training book to snag the guy she wanted!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Really Great Book
i really enjoyed every book of mary-kate and ashley's that i have read, and i def. think young people get into reading from books like these. since younger children look up to these amazing people, they want to learn how to read their books. i def. recommend this book if you have a young child who likes mary-kate and ashley, and i def. recommend it if you are an olsen fan, like myself. i have this book, and i love it, and i know you will too!

3-0 out of 5 stars skull crack book review
In the book Skullcrack by Ben Bo it showed that no matter what nothing can come in the way of family not even a hurricane.
My book was about a boy who always knew he was missing something in his life but between being harassed by his drunken father and doing what he loved surfing he really had no time for anything else. One day a mystical man named Mr. Bones followed him home one night and gave him some insight into his future telling him he would meet a very special girl and that when he met adeadly hurricane would hit him and he told him to beware Edwin. One day Jonah's father takes his game a little to far and gets really drunk and really mad and he comes after Jonah and hits him. Jonah not knowing what he was doing or where he was going just takes off with no money or food or anything but he falls off of a cliff causing him to go into a coma. The next day Jonah's father goes to see jonah in the hospital and he talks to Jonah about how he is never going to touch another drop of alcohol again, but then he starts to talk about Jonah's sister who he had never told him about before and it wasn't only his sister it was his twin sister but he had to give her away when they were like one year old because he said he wouldn't be able to raise a girl with their mother being dead and all so he gave her to the adoption agency and he kept Jonah. Jonah's father then decides since Jonah is out of his coma that they can go and see sally (Jonah's twin sister) so they head out to the island that she is on but they here of hurricane on there way there and find out that they are evacuating everyone from the island by bus. Jonah decides not to go with his dad on the bus and he goes to his sisters house. He meets her at her house and at first they didn't believe that he was her brother, but then they figure it out right as the hurricane hits and they all survive it.
I thought this book was really dull and boring at first but after you get about half way through it it starts to unravel Jonah's problems in his life and he tries to solve them. Overall this book was very good, and it showed me no matter what you can always find what or who you are looking for.
In this book it showed courage, but most of all it showed that you just can't keep family apart.

CRAIG p.1

5-0 out of 5 stars Skullcrack: A Excellent Realistic Fiction Novel
Skullcrack is a short novel about a teenage boy living in Ireland named Jonah. His father is an agressive alcoholic. Jonah loves to surf off a small inlet called Craxkull Point. There he starts seeing stange images of a girl in the swirling mists of the cove. I found this book interesting and fun to read because I like setting and the suspense. The ends of most of the chapters leave you hanging on the edge of your seat. This also makes you want to read more. The text contains a group of "demons" commenting on some of the current happenings. Even though his dad is a heavy drinker, he cares deeply about his son and suprises him by buying two tickets to America. What adventures will Jonah find in the US? Read this book, Skullcrack to find out. ... Read more

Dear Diary,

Today was the worst day of my life. I tried out for the White Oak softball team, and it was a total disaster. I couldn't do anything right. I never even made it to the first base. I missed a fly ball. And I struck out--six times in a row!

But that's not the worst thing. Ashley is the new gossip columnist for the school paper--and she wrote something about me. Something I didn't want anyone else to know!

So Cambell, MK's roomate, lets Mk train with her every morning.Since Marykate hasn't been training lately she was so out of shape. Can things get worse for Mary Kate?

4-0 out of 5 stars ok book!!
I think this book was ok. I liked it though because I like softball and it wasn't one of their best, but I like it because it's a diary and I really like the Olsen twins so whoever likes the olsen twins, then get this book! it's awesome. I collect them. Their all good books. I think on winner take all that it's such a cute pose on the front of winner take all!! I say it was a good book overall!

1-0 out of 5 stars Skip it
I bought this book for my daughter during the period when I thought she liked these girls. The more of these books she read, the more she became convinced that she was wasting her time with nonsense. Buy your daughter real classics and good literature. Skip this mass culture madness and stay away from these poorly written vehicles to benefit the careers of these two girls with so little talent.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great book
This is a cute book, but very easy to read. You may just wannabuy it for your collection,or if your reading is not very advanced buyit to read.No matter what you buy it for it is still a good book! ... Read more

Book Description

Everyone needs thingamajigs, and four-year-old Janet means to keep, her thingamajigs to herself.

Each day Janet carefully chooses three little thingamajigs. And each day she neatly wraps them in a paper bag and puts them in her crib -- safe from her brother Jimmy's meddling hands. But when the bags fill Janet's crib, Mother is at her wit's end until she saves the day by giving the twins a big surprise that makes Janet's paper-bag collection a thingamajig of the past.

In this delightful new Jimmy and Janet story, Newbery medalist Beverly Cleary vividly recreates the pride a child takes in growing up. DyAnne DiSalvo-Ryan's appealing, softly colored illustrations make this a true-to-life classic that is sure to find a place in every child's heart.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great to read aloud!
Another wonderful story for pre-school and younger elementary students.Part of Beverly Cleary's series about young twins Jimmy and Janet.Janet is a collector who saves her treasures in paper bags. The twins move from cribs into "big beds" in this story, so it's a good story for the two or three year old who is making that transition. My children loved to have this story read to them.

4-0 out of 5 stars Silbling rivalry
I bought this book for my daughter when she reached age 2 1/2 and began to experience sibling rivalry with her older brother.Although the book is a bit dated (traditional mother at home with children, father off at work),it deals very well with the feelings children experience when theirpossesions and space are sought after by a sibling. It also deals wellwith the mother's frustration when the kids are constantly bickering -helps to show a child why a mother might get frustrated. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Mystery at Jacob's Well is well worth your while
I am waiting for the sequel!I did not realize how many facts I was learning while I was being entertained by this wonderful story. I look forward to more books by Mrs. Bennett.

5-0 out of 5 stars What a terrific book!
As a teacher, I highly recommend this book for not only the factual information, but for the "mystery" aspect as well.It will definitely hold a young reader's attention.I especially enjoyed the fact that the well is a real-life location and that Indian folklore played such a significant part in the story.

5-0 out of 5 stars Mystery at Jacob's Well is a winner!
Marcia Bennett's "Mystery at Jacob's Well" is a great read for kids age 8 or up. As a writer and science teacher, I'm always delighted to find a good, wholesome children's book that incorporates an intelligent story line with accurate historical and science fact. This book reminded me of those great Nancy Drew/Trixie Belden books we used to read, but it has considerably more substance for today's more sophisticated youth audience. Although the book draws from local (Texas) folklore, it should be enjoyed by readers from Maine to California. I highly recommend Ms. Bennett's book, and hope that it is the first of a long series. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars worst book in history
This is by far and away the worst THING a human being (or even an animal) has ever produced. This book is literally a crime against humanity. My daughter has probably been scarred for life by owning this tripe, also the film is perhaps the worst example of acting on celluloid, and contains more montage than narrative.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Book But To Much Boys
I liked the book a lot but there was a little to much boys and kissing in it. I would like to see more mystery than boys.

5-0 out of 5 stars Just as good as the movie!!
This book was great! It's short, sweet, and too the point! You cna read it in your spare time or when you just feel like reading a good book. At first I thought, " It's probably not as good as the movie." Well, I was wrong- it's just like it... but more details! It's great! It really needed 5 stars!~

5-0 out of 5 stars Mary-kates and Ashleys best!!!
This is a very good book for the whole family. My whole family rates it 5 out of 5 exept me I rate it 1000000000000 out of 5. I rated it this because it is just as good as the movie. I know that usually my family would think the movie would be the best for any other story.
This book is about Riely Lawrence (Ashley) and Chole (Mary-kate). They got picked to compete in a United Nations contest. They have an idea for the contest that they think is going to win.
They also went sightseeing and met cute boys. There were also some problems with the contest and the boys.
I think I've said enough but if you want to find out more I suggest you get this book. I also think it would make a nice stocking filler.
Don't miss out on this one or you'll be sorry.

2-0 out of 5 stars bad..... very bad

Book Description

Lenny and Mel kick off their incredible summer vacation by doing something huge, something they haven't done since last summer: nothing. They loaf. They doze. They dig into the fridge and come up with new and exciting lunch foods. They're bored -- and it's great! Then August hits, and it's time to go to the cabin. This means piling into the car with Grandma and their parents at the crack of dawn, and driving miles away to breathe fresh air, climb trees, and play with sticks.

Yuck.

Dad says it'll be an "adventure." But Lenny and Mel know this is parent code for "bad stuff." Why can't they just do what they want this summer? ... Read more
