Book Description

Today's lawyer is obliged to act as a representative of clients, officer of the legal system, and public citizen. The difficult problems of "professional responsibility" arise not from lawyers misunderstanding right from wrong, but from the overlap and resulting conflict of these three functions. Addresses the constant interaction of lawyers through the considerably leaner, problem-oriented second edition. Most reading materials and notes that follow are designed to help the student or at least respond to each problem; some material and notes raise further, related issues. New readings abound, although the authors have retained a number of principal cases and readings most helpful in dealing with particular issues. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good, but needs to be updated
I use this book in a college class I teach and have found it to be helpful as a vehicle for discussion. My only complaint is that it needs to be revised. This edition was published 5 years ago. Some of the ethics codes for mental health providers that are included in the back of the book have changed. The American Psychological Association, for example, issued a new ethics code in 2003. Now would be a good time for the author to revise and update the book. Additional ethical scenarios could be included, information on the new government-mandated privacy laws, etc. Otherwise, the book may lose its usefulness as the laws and mental health field change. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Now, The True Rainbow Covenant for All.
I have read The rainbow covenant by Dallen , it is an really an excellent work by a Genius. The whole material presented in a simple and effective for anybody to understand and follow the Covenant.

The greatness of the book lies in the Authors honesty with the facts - Nothing has been changed, twisted or mutialated. This makes this books a wonderful for reading - while travessing thru the Truth. The more you go in depth and more you are involved in it.It is an wonderful experience.

The Rainbow Covenant ultimately restores the proper mental, spiritual attitude that all important for man to connect with God.

A must read for everybody whether Jew or Gentiles. It is an experience worth going through the The Rainbow covenant.

5-0 out of 5 stars Universal laws
The Rainbow Covenant is one of the best books a person can buy on the Universal Laws outlined in the Torah (i.e. Old Testament), for all nations to follow. For individuals wishing to have a greater understanding of what God expects of us in our day to day lives this book is a must read.

5-0 out of 5 stars If you want to know what G-d expects of you
If you want to know what G-d expects of you . . . If you want to know what you're supposed to do in today's amoral world . . . If you're looking for peace of mind, start with The Rainbow Covenant. It's where you find ancient Torah truths written in a style that is not only easy to understand, but thoroughly enjoyable. It has everything from idolatry to sacrilege and sex, all written in a scholarly but enlightening way. The Rainbow Covenant became the recipe for my personal growth through G-d's Laws. It was a fast read that puts me in touch with how G-d wants me to live my life. I have come back to The Rainbow Covenant again and again - so will you.

5-0 out of 5 stars If you're looking for answers
The Rainbow Covenant by Attorney Michael Dallen is one of those books that once you've picked it up you just can't put it down until you've devoured every word. He informs the reader that the Ten Commandments were never intended for the non-Jew. However, there is a standard for all of us. In ancient times it was known as the Seven Laws for the Children of Noah.

If you're looking for answers, you absolutely must start with the Rainbow Covenant. Even if I didn't acknowledge the existence of a G-d, I'd have still recognized quickly that the contents of this book were extremely beneficial. The first chapter alone was so powerful that it sent a shock wave through me that could only be described as the most intense spiritual arousal that I personally have experienced. It was as though the Torah Laws were standing naked before me that I might witness their incredible brilliance and beauty.

Finally, someone is ready to share with us what the G-d of Israel expects of the non-Jew. Author Michael Dallen has made it easier then ever to understand. Every page is filled with wisdom and a genuine concern for all humanity.

5-0 out of 5 stars May we live in interesting times
Our deepest desire is to make "connections" with God.

Chances are, you have at some point in your life experienced a moment where you have felt a "connection"

If each of us thinks hard enough we can remember when and where we felt that "connection". Let us think back to a certain moment when you felt "plugged in" to something beyond yourself, something holy, something divine.

Was it gazing upon the beauty of a sunset? The moment you learned you and your spouse were soon to be parents? Or the feeling you had when you gave something to fulfill the needs of somebody else?

Do you want this feeling again? Do you ever how we can make these "connections" with God each and every day.Where do we go to meet G-d? Where do we find him?

According to history, a wandering tribe of 2,000,000 people believed God spoke to them on a mountain called Sinai.

If today I told you God spoke to me, would take me seriously?

However, imagine if two (2) million men, women and children of the New York suburb of Manhattan stated that G-d spoke to ALL OF THEM. . . I bet you would consider it to be a possibility.

Unlike belief systems founded by specific individuals, Judaism is based on the HISTORICAL REALITY that God revealed himself to an entire nation. The Jews are not new to the world. They have been here for thousands of years. A tiny, isolated group of people who have defied logic and reason as regards their survival.

I will leave you the reader with a challenge.

The prophet Zechariah spoke this prophecy regarding the Messianic Age. The emphasis is mine

Thus says the Lord of hosts:

"On those days ten men out of all the languages of the nations

shall take hold and seize THE ROBE of a JEW , saying:

Let us go with YOU (the Jew), for we have heard that

God is with you (The Jews).'" (Zechariah 8:23)

Dear reader: grab hold of this book and ask seek the answers held by the Jews. Discover if the words of the prophet are Zechariah are true, that God was, is, and always will be found admist the Jews. The proof is in the pudding.

Perhaps your purpose is to fulfill prophecy . . .to be living examples that the God of the Jews created the universe and has revealed to the Jewish people the method to "connect" to him.

My best wishes on your journey. ... Read more
