This book explains how a woman with a good doctor can get a pharmacy to mix a custom-blended natural hormone replacement with few, if any, side effects, because it's what's in your body already. I took this book to my doctor who said of course he'd be happy to prescribe natural hormones as suggested in the book. Had I not brought it up, I, too would have been prescribed that horrible Premarin or Prempro, made from the urine of pregnant [and abused] mares. I've spoken with other women over 45-50 who take the horse estrogen, Premarin [the name comes from PREgnant MARe's urINe], and they were shocked that there was an alternative their doctors had never bothered mentioning. Anyone interested in natural health should buy this must-read, and then discuss with your doctor.

Book Description About this book... Both new and experienced practitioners of Auriculotherapy have found this comprehensive manual to be one of the most clinically useful texts on ear acupuncture. This handbook combines the best work of Chinese and French systems of Auriculotherapy.Medical doctors, chiropractors, acupuncturists, physical therapists, reflexologists, dentists, naturopaths, massage therapists and nurses have applied the principles in this manual to successfully relieve chronic pain, suppress appetite and treat addictions. The ear reflex points presented in this handbook are based upon extensive research conducted at the UCLA Pain Management Center. This text provides a standardized auricular nomenclature system for designating differentanatomical zones of the ear. Each ear reflex point is represented by both a number and an auricularzone location. Treatment plans are listed for over 250 medical conditions. Our best seller!!! Reviews (3)
Though of course this book is derived from a great deal of Chinese Medical history, it is a very Western-oriented book. Auriculotherapy developed in France as a complete system thanks to Dr. Paul Nogier, so this is to be expected. For a practitioner to master Auriculotherapy, one must incorporate both viewpoints--no small challenge! I personally would like to see someone who knows Traditional Chinese Medicine to co-write the next edition. The book would double in size! I think the Chinese Medical Theory that the Auriculotherapy System derived from deserves to be re-incorporated and included, for the medicine to be whole and complete. This is what's lacking from this text. This book is clearly directed at the student and practitioner of the medicine, and not directed at dabblers or patients. Auriculotherapy is a very serious undertaking, and this is a serious book. Auriculotherapy is very difficult to learn from a book alone. This is the text I require in the Auriculotherapy class I teach at the Northwest Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

Book Description Reviews (12)
Energy therapy such as polarity, Reiki, and acupuncture have been shown to work at the same frequency range of the electromagnetic spectrum as pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) therapy. PEMF has been used by Western medicine for some time to aid in the healing of bone which is not healing on its own. (See Bassett C A L 1995 Bioelectromagnetics in the service of medicine. In: Blank M (ed) Electromagnetic fields: biological interactions and mechanisms. Advances in Chemistry Series 250. American Chemical Society, Washington DC, pp 261-275) All in all, a fascinating and thorough exploration of an important, emerging field. A must for anyone involved in or curious about bodywork, energy work, or any form of medicine.
The topics covered are surprisingly far-ranging. I was even skeptical of some of the chapter headings, but the author is so reasonable, and his claims so well-documented that even the most open-minded might find themselves taking a new look at topics they never considered. The chapters on crystal healing and the emotional impact of posture, respectively, were for me particularly fascinating. Some of the most fascinating scientific reading I've done in years. His description of the physical body as a liquid crystalline system, the mechanics of how movement strengthens this system, and how the physical liquid crystal interacts with and is the basis for the energetic system is remarkably beautiful. There are many moments where the scientific meets the spiritual in this book and it's so beautiful. What this book is not: This book is not an instruction manual. I noticed at least one other review seemed to say it was an instruction manual. There are no instructions as to how to practice any of the many techniques covered. The book is for people who already know how to do these things or people who don't want to know HOW but rather WHY IT WORKS. A fabulous reference for those who would like to give clients a more lucid explanation for why various forms of energy healing might work, or at least more current theories on the topic. Worth the price of the book for the bibliography alone.
A previous reviewer mentioned the placebo effect. Most scientists don't know that every patient in Stanford Medical Center when I was there studying biostatistics was in a clinical trial in order to take advantage of the placebo effect on all patients, not just the ones getting a new treatment. The National Institute of Medicine, notes in a recent publication, that the brain changes induced by opiates are the same as that induced by a placebo effect. It is far safer and often more affective to induce a placebo effect, than give a drug with negative side effects, particularly when the response is the same or better. Enough said. These comments suggest that ignorance of the scientific literature in this field is widespread, even among leading scientists, and the first prescription for the brain disfunction resulting from this lack of knowledge is Oschman's book. I recommend it to all my colleagues. ... Read more

Alright, I know this is serious stuff to some people. The truth is she now looks great, and the attention she gets from guys has increased dramatically-usually it decreases after having a baby, so that's saying something. I think women everywhere should give this a try, but my sister should trade her copy for a box of chocolate bars so I don't have to worry about her so much! If you know a fat woman, get her this. Sorry, I'm just having a hard time taking this seriously.

Book Description This example-rich reference fosters a smooth transition from elementary ordinary differential equations to more advanced concepts. Asmar's relaxed style and emphasis on applications make the material accessible even to readers with limited exposure to topics beyond calculus. Encourages computer for illustrating results and applications, but is also suitable for use without computer access. Contains more engineering and physics applications, and more mathematical proofs and theory of partial differential equations, than the first edition. Offers a large number of exercises per section. Provides marginal comments and remarks throughout with insightful remarks, keys to following the material, and formulas recalled for the reader's convenience. Offers Mathematica files available for download from the author's website. A useful reference for engineers or anyone who needs to brush up on partial differential equations. Reviews (3)
The subjects include a small bit on characteristics for first-order equations, a chapter on trigonometric series, PDEs in rectangular, polar, and spherical systems and associated eigenfunction expansions, Sturm-Liouville theory, the fourier transform, Laplace/Hankel transforms for PDEs, grid-type numerical methods, sampling & discrete Fourier analysis, and quantum mechanics (the Schrödinger equation). This book is definitely great for applied mathematicians, physicists, or engineers who really need a solid introduction to the topic, written by someone who knows all the details. Any treatment in "mathematical physics" courses on PDEs will fall short of this book's content. Of particular importance are the inclusion of special sections for Bessel functions, Legendre polynomials, associated Legendre functions, spherical harmonics, etc. All the details of solution and many exercises are included. The most interesting parts of the book are towards the end, with the Sampling Theorem and discrete Fourier transform; and the proof of Heisenberg's uncertainty principle. This book is also useful for more theoretical mathematicians or mathematical physicists who need an introduction to PDEs before taking a more difficult course on general theory. In short, I think that even though this book is of great utility to non-mathematicians, it is proper to learn these concepts and techniques in a proper math setting where care is taken. This text is a solid foundation for confident application and a springboard towards more advanced subjects. ... Read more

Book Description The book views psoriasis, as well as eczema, as originating in the intestinal tract. Looked at from the inside out, rather than from the outside in, a whole new approach to the disease evolves. This concept identifies the problem as a build up of toxins (poisons) in the system which make their way out through the skin, but does not originate in the skin. Dr. Pagano defines psoriasis as the external manifestation of the body's attempt to throw off internal toxins. Because of thin, porous, intestinal walls these toxic elements "seep" through the walls of the intestine (now referred to as "The Leaky Gut Syndrome"), causing a pollution of the lymphatic and blood circulatory system. The body then attempts to rid itself of these toxins by expelling them through the sweat glands. Dr. Pagano further emphasizes that a proper DIET and adequate ELIMINATIONS are a major part of the solution. This book proves the efficacy of this theory by documented case histories, patient affidavits and striking before and after photographs. Reviews (47)
When I came to this book I was doubtful but like every other suffer desperate for relief, I forwarded the link to my wife and she bought the book. I have been doing this for almost a week now and I am starting to see the results, even though I haven't followed it to a "T". Yeah the teas are horrible, but other than that it is not bad - better than the disease. So if you are also plagued with Psoriasis, I HIGHLY recommend this book and the lifestyle change it promotes. Yes I miss my steak and potatoes, but that's life - time to move on. As for the one review that states it all stress related, this individual surely doesn't have psoriasis. I am a Network Administrator and my day is nothing but stress filled, like almost every other American out there, but yet I am healing. I eat more fruits and veggies than ever before, drink my water, eat my fish and chicken, salads, drink my teas (YUCK) and almost all other things recommended - sorry I'm not perfect - but it is working. So in summary when your momma said you are what you eat - believe her - GOD gave her wisdom - just follow it and eat right. I'll do a follow up review in 3 months, prayerfully I will continue to heal and be done with this once and for all.
For moral support, I have been on the diet with him, even though I don't suffer from psoriasis. The wonderful offshoot of this is that my skin has cleared up beautifully. I often used to have red splotches and marks on my face. It is now smoother, more even colored, and my skin is much softer. Many people have noticed. I intend to stay on a version of this diet permanently because I'm sure it must be what my body needs.

Book Description Well, you might have to reconsider everything you've read up until now about conventional healing. The Anew@ frequencies of healing described by Dr. Pearl transcend Atechnique@ entirely and bring you to levels beyond those previously accessible to anyone, anywhere. This book takes you on Eric Pearl=s journey from the discovery of his ability to heal, to his well-deserved reputation as the instrument through which this process is being introduced to the world. But most important, The Reconnection reveals methods you can use to personally master these new healing energies. Reviews (28)
Pearl has been a huge disappointment. But the good news: There is a lot of promising research in this field now coming up, much of it presented in James Oschman's excellent book "Energy medicine". And there is also a book that. maybe for the first time, satisfactorily translates the energy experience into writing: Donna Edens book, also titled "Energy medicine".
If you feel you're on a path that involves healing lives in any aspect, this book is at least worth the time it takes to read the 220 or so pages it comprises.
Despite Dr. Pearl's many statements to the contrary, The Reconnection is a technique, just like every other form of externally activated healing process. Only when the entire process comes from within the "dis-eased" individual, and only when performed without fore-thought, any form of focus, attention, or intention on the illness or healing it, would such a "method" be free of technique. Stated otherwise, healing would have to be fully spontaneous. I read a review in which the writer mentions studying Levels One and Two - that alone tells me there is a technique. If you progress through stages, if you hold your hands a certain way, if you hold a specific focus, be it love, openness, to be unfocused, or whatever, it is a technique. If you are playing with a slinky or pulling taffy, it is a technique (you'll relate to this when you read the book). In Elmer Green's "Copper Wall Project" the single common denominator was that the involved "sensitives" (healers) all used their hands. Again, this implies technique. As Pearl states, there are other ways of working with energies, but the hands are unique (they are also where energy is most unstable, changing polarity from yin to yang - and when something is unstable it is more easily affected). I have now read this book twice and have referred to highlighted sections numerous times, and I have to say, it strongly resembles qigong. A serious, long-time student of qigong, I still manage to avoid holding it in such awe as to be closed to other possibilities, and that is why I was able to read and put to use Dr. Pearl's many insights. Just as he says that the word "energy" is insufficient, so do most qigong practitioners. Many qigong adepts have long said that the process is one of information. Like homeopathy and most other healing modalities, this information is exchanged on a vibrational entrainment level. This explains why, as another reviewer points out, simply holding the book will set off energetic frequencies in the hands of some readers. For more detail on this, I strongly recommend James Oschman's "Energy Medicine, The Scientific Basis." I won't go into all the other reasons Reconnective healing and qigong are kissing cousins, but know that they are. Finally, over time I have come to realize there is nothing inherently wrong with "technique". Technique is simply a teaching protocol, a way of introducing the learner to a universe of possibilities. As with every teacher-student relationship, some instructors (especially "bow down and worship me, guru types") will abuse it, making learning more ridgid than it needs to be, a disservice to the student and future generations of learners. But once the foundation is properly in place, each individual will find their unique way of advancing. Then we can draw outside the lines. The strength of The Reconnection is in the introductory foundation it lays, but there are numerous other techniques just as effective. And this in no way takes away from what Pearl has brought to the table. ... Read more

The book highlights the inadequacy of modern traditional medicine. From the lower success rates for treating a vast number of ailments, to the ineffectiveness of drug treatments, to the ever climbing costs of health care, it reveals what many medical professionals won't tell you or, even worse, don't know about themselves. If you'd like to regain control of your health and keep it that way at the lowest reasonable cost, this book gives you the "fishing pole" for how to do that.

Book Description Reviews (20)
The authors research is based on nothing. It's based on his opinion, which is foolish. He throws in a whole bunch of scientific jargon, as if its going to win us all over. The fact is, drinking water with a high pH can be detrimental to your health, not positive. Putting those drops in your water "clusters" the water, making the molecules smaller, thereby hydrating the body more than regular water. This is bad because it tricks the body into overhydrating, and can wreak havoc in your stomach. Dr. David Wheeler points this out on his site thoroughly. Again, don't want to disappoint the fans of this theory, but there's a lot more to it than drinking alkaline water to become healthy. Half the people who drink this water will become too alkaline, and could do some serious damage, like not producing stomach acid anymore. It's happened to thousands. I urge you all to do natural things. Not use medication, like Alkaline water. It IS indeed medicine. The body WILL try to reject it.
Dr Whang safely assumes that most of us will not easily change our behavior. His recommendation is to use ionized water which is indeed very effective at impacting acid conditions. He has several other interesting theories as well. I have been using ionized water for two months and see many internal improvements that reach beyond an increasingly better acid balance. Some of the true believers in ionized water consider the alkalinity to be only one potential benefit of the water. Do some web searching for further information. If you read all of the reviews of this book you will find some that are cautionary. The reasoning and backup for these opinions is somewhat thin, but this is true of information in general on ionized water. I have read much of what I can on this matter and suggest that you do the same. For myself I believe the material in the book to be very valuable. For the immediate future I will use ionized water as a health supplement. Based on what I have seen and read I hope that it will be an ongoing aid in the effort to find balanced health... A recommendation for an inexpensive batch ionizer to get started (no affiliation whatsoever)...hiddencures.com
But good heavens with the introduction of modern, refined and processed foods as well as the various prevalent pollutants that we spill into our environment, the aging process has sped up while degenerative diseases have increased. Now I wouldn't recommend this water as a plethora. Rather it is good to use while making some other corrections to one's diet as well, beginnning with cutting back on the carbonated drinks and other various highly sugar-laced and/or overly processed food stuffs! I think he has a very original idea with the ionizer and the drops! In France there is the Dr. Kousmine who has also thought and taught along those lines, advising patients to take alkalizing salts when urine pH is too acidic. I especially appreciated his middle-of-the-road-no-excess philosophy, so important in matters of health, MODERATION being the key word. Let's face it, we wouldn't even be needing this water if we hadn't already broken a few of the rules along the way... But even too much of a good thing can be bad. With that in mind, don't over do it with the basic water... BALANCE being the main goal! Thanks Mr. Whang for this great and very simple-to-use idea! ... Read more
