This book is a great lab coat reference for troubleshooting common problems after cardiac surgery. It is well organized. Some of the information in this (and many other books) might become somewhat dated with new ACLS protocols being released, so choose with caution. ... Read more

This book is outstanding!
This text is very useful in explaining pathophysiology of cardiac events, at a cellular level. There are overviews of acute and chronic heart failure, acute MI, and arrhythmias. The conditions are explained in depth and the text is easy to understand. These sections then address the drug therapies, interventions, and cellular activities that resolve the pathologies. concise and to the point
This book is a very helpful pocket book for both Cardiovascular medicine fellows, Medical residents, practising cardiologists as well as any physician with a true interest in evidence supported management of cardiovascular disease. The most relevant large scale trials are reviewed in support of standards of care or consensus guidelines set out in the book. It also does a good job of covering the broad spectrum of cardiology. It definitely merits at least 4 stars

Its about time a book like this came out in the field of cardiology...its an absolute necessity for anyone interested in or practicing cardiology. This book succeeds in composing a comprehensive and reliable and up-to-date resource on all facets of cardiovascular medicine that have been defined by clinical trials. It describes the state-of-the-art in each field of cardiology (intervention, acute coronary syndromes, heart failure, etc) and then describes all the relevant studies that have been done to create that standard of care. succinct and very readable
I enjoyed this book because it was very readable with many illustrations covering many topics that discuss how to prevent heart disease. I especially liked the section devoted to nontraditional risk factors.

Concise summary of ways to prevent heart disease
This book is very easy to read and contains a lot of information about heart disease and how to prevent it. There are a great deal of pictures and figures. I found this book to be one of the best on the subject. As a dietitian, I found it helped me understand some of the reasons heart disease is so common in the world.

A great book to get things clear
This is a great book because it sets thing clear for the student, the researcher, and the doctor. Although nowadays it is hard to be up-to-date without a journal on the specific subject we are interested in, this book does the best to explain the basics of hypertension and the ultimate advances that have been made on the subject, at least by the year it was published.
