4-0 out of 5 stars IT HAS A REFINED ANALYTICAL APPROACH
"Designing Clinical Research: An Epidermiologic Approach" did a thorough analysis of various methodologies, which medical scientists could use in everyday research. It, first of all, outlined all the essential steps (used in epidemiological research), before delving into the analysis of each step. Its information is current and versatile. But, certain important issues like research-funding and statistics received less than expected attention. Despite this flaw, I would still recommend this book to scientists. Its pros did exceed its cons by a mile.

5-0 out of 5 stars Invaluable book
I bought this book for a course I am taking as part of my fellowship. This book focuses on the concepts of study design and critical aspects of clinical research. To my surprise, what I found was that I have a greater understanding of how to intrepret literature. This is mostly because I'm able to view it from an investigator's point of view. I'm now able to thoroughly dissect a study and identify the weaknesses, etc (without even reading the discussion section). For those who plan on doing clinical research or just practicing evidenced based medicine, this book is a must.

4-0 out of 5 stars excessively convenience-oriented book
On the whole this book is an excellent work.

But there is some possibility of fostering illusions in many readers' mind that they actually have great power of research in spite of not having good understanding on basic principles such as statistics.

It is not sufficiently equipped for graduate student or researcher above the level.

5-0 out of 5 stars THIS IS A MUST HAVE
This is an amazing textbook that is a must have for all healthcare workers or anyone involved or wanting to be involved in clinical research. The test is organized and extremely well written. I use it to teach clinical research design to my students, residents, and fellows. Hats off to Hulley et al on a job well done. It was worth the 13 year wait for the 2nd edition.

5-0 out of 5 stars Research design: A superb guide
This is one of the best books I have read on how to design a research project. It starts with key, but often neglected, issues such as how to choose a well-focussed research question and steps through all the elements of study design, data collection, quality assurance, and basic grant-writing.

A "must-have" that needs a second edition! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars NMS USMLE step 2 practice tests
Overall a pretty useful book for studying for the boards. Covers a multitude of subjects. Detailed explanations of answers are a plus as very often most books just give you the right answer, leaving most asking, "why did I get that wrong?" Drawback to the book are that the questions are not always test-quality in that they can be ambiguous or at worst, wrong.

4-0 out of 5 stars NMS Review for the USMLE Step 2
Very good book. Many questions on the exam were very similar if not the same, there are only so many ways you can rewrite a question. This book covered pretty much everything and brought certain things to your attention that you might have skimmed over. If you are able to pass the exams in this book you will do fine on step 2. Good buy, especially for the price. Good Luck.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not very up to date
This has many review questions for step 2 but there are many that are not representative of the type of questions on the actual exam. Some questions are way too specific and not clinically based. If one is looking for a book with a lot of practice questions it does have that to offer but many of them are not helpful in preparation for the exam.

4-0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended
I used this book in the last two weeks before the exam...the questions were pretty difficult, maybe a little more picky than the real exam. But the topics tested were high-yield - a lot of the topics came up in the actual exam. This is a good book to fill in any gaps in your knowledge before the exam. Together with this book, the "Pretest Clinical vignettes" and the Kaplan Q-book, I did enough questions to get me a 97 on the exam.

2-0 out of 5 stars obscure detail
Most of the questions in this book are a waste of time. The Usmle is not going to test you on the relative ratios if LDH1 to LDH2 to LDH3 to LDH4 ... or the most common infection in people named joe with 11 toes and 3 elbows... but this book will. I'm always surprised at the reputation this book has. It is a waste to learn the detail in this book. The best question book is Mock step2 by brochert - You will learn the high yield stuff. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars A true classic.
I think of this book as the "bible" of muscle testing. I bought this book when I was in PT school and have not stopped using it since- in fact it sits on my desk as a reference when I have to test that "odd" muscle now and then. I give it five stars easy. Also liked "Treat Your Own Knees" for knee pain patients.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Must Have For All Body Therapies!
This is an excellent book.
It is a important reference book which I use and read cover to cover. The biggest plus about this book is the concept of alignment, and the various grouping of restrictions and weaknesses within the body. It shows this and explains these (rectrictions vs weakeness) very clearly and specifically which makes it easy to pick up theses patterns in people's bodies.
Although there are better books which are set out better, the commentary and insights contained within the book are invaluable.
It is a bit of a bible in many physical therapy circles.
Don't get too caught up, and remember that this book should only be a start point as things are more complicated than this.

5-0 out of 5 stars Worthwhile purchase
If you ever needed to know what all the muscles in the body were, where exactly they attached to the skeleton, what movement they created, and ways to test how strong they are this is the bible. As a physical therapist, this has been an invaluable book to have both as a student and as a clinician.

5-0 out of 5 stars Book to work with
This is a refined and refinded text of an excellent book. It has a place in so many therapists bookcase eg.Osteopaths chiropractors physiotherapists etc etc. Go and buy! ... Read more

Book Description

"You and your friends are all dieting and sticking to it. But while they lose weight, you don't shed a pound. You take vitamins and minerals. But your skin is dry and your hair is lifeless. You get plenty of sleep--but you're still tired and even depressed much of the time. At last, the solution to these problems and more can be found in... IS YOUR THYROID MAKING YOU FAT? Here is the breakthrough book that delivers crucial news to millions: You may have hypothyroidism, a thyroid gland disorder that slows the metabolism, making it virtually impossible to lose weight and often causing a host of other disturbing conditions. Now Dr. Sanford Siegal, a weight-loss trailblazer whose clinics have served over 500,000 patients, reveals why hypothyroidism is frequently undiagnosed or ignored, and offers his fast, easy, and proven program to find out if your thyroid is doing its job. By following his four-week diet plan, you will not only lose weight but get the critical information you need to receive the proper treatment from your own doctor.

In IS YOUR THYROID MAKING YOU FAT? Dr. Siegal explains why the widely accepted TSH test for thyroid problems has serious limitations. He draws on his experience with thousands of patients whose hypothyroidism was previously not diagnosed and whose sluggish metabolism had been ignored. He walks you through every phase and aspect of his diet program so that when you're done, you can pursue the right course of action--a weight-reduction program to get your weight off and, if necessary, effective treatment for your hypothyroidism. Dr. Siegal even provides you with a fill-in-the-blank form letter to bring to your primary care physician.

A win-win book written by a doctor who is not afraid to take on the narrow, old-school attitude toward hypothyroidism and weight loss, IS YOUR THYROID MAKING YOU FAT? is a lifesaving, life-changing book for each of us who has ever wondered: Is it the diet--or is it me?" ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Finally! A doctor who understands!
Dr. Siegal has written a diet book that finally makes sense. For years I've been told by doctors that there is nothing wrong with my glands and that I just have to cut back on my eating. Well, I have cut back plenty, and I just don't lose weight. It's about time that some doctor has written a book that explains what is going on.

Siegal says that one out of four overweight people can't lose weight on any diet because they have something wrong with their thyroid glands and the tests that doctors do are wrong. I'm doing the test that he has in his book and in about two weeks I should know whether my thyroid gland is keeping me fat. This is the first time I've read anything that can explain my problem.

Siegal says he has had thousands of patients like me. If I didn't know better, I would swear that he has written this book with me in mind. This book is going to make a lot of people happy. It not only makes it clear why so many people can't lose weight, it tells you what to do about it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Is Your Thyroid Making You Fat? Could Be!
As a doctor of pharmacy candidate and published reviewer ofmedical literature, I am in constant contact with patients whocomplain that their doctor dismisses a metabolic problem as the cause of their obesity. While hypothyroidism certainly is not the cause of all obsesity, Dr. Siegal makes a very convincing argument that, for many, it may be. Since his concern about the reliability of the TFT laboratory tests stems from his experience with many patients, his opinions are worthy of consideration.

My only complaint about the book is that Dr. Siegal does get carried away in his explanation of hypothyroidism. For doctors (and perhaps that is the audience he had in mind), the detail is appropriate, but the average reader might choose to skip some of the technical explanations.

As a medical professional, I am not inclined to dismiss the observations of a practicing physician who has treated thousands of patients for obesity. This book offers hope to those who don't overeat but can't seem to lose weight on any diet. END

5-0 out of 5 stars Insightful Infomation
I learned middle 2003 that I have hypothyroidism. My Doctor put me on Synthyroid but I just haven't felt like it was doing any good so I decided to investigate the illness myself. That is when I ordered this book and was I pleased with the information you get from this book. I had no idea there was medication that was natural that supplies both T4 & T3 and how your body needs both to be balanced. I now have more hope that I will be able to control this condition after reading this book. It is written in plain language that a layman can understand. I recommend this book very highly to those who need help with Hypothyroidism.

1-0 out of 5 stars If you have a thyroid problem this book won't help!
I read this book & was very disappointed. It has some basic things that anyone with a thyroid problem already knows. As far as the diagnosis method it is to eat a 1000 calorie diet for 28 days to see if you loose weight normally. And the diet to lose weight is to eat 1000 calories a day. Very unhealthy & unrealistic.

1-0 out of 5 stars If you know you have Hypothyroidism - This will not help!
I am looking for a nutritional guide to help me determine how to eat now that I have been diagnosed with Hypothyroidism. This is not it. I am an extremely active female and am gaining weight. I was hoping this might give me some insight but it seems to be geared more for finding the problem, not living with it. The basic information given was not something that I had not already read. ... As many as one in eight women have a thyroid condition. In Living Well with Hypothyroidism, Mary Shomon outlines the most common of these--too little thyroid hormones in the body. Weight gain, depression, fatigue, and what patients call "brain fog, Brillo hair, and prune skin" result. Because the symptoms of hypothyroidism mimic so many other conditions--chronic fatigue, PMS, clinical depression--it can be very tricky to diagnose, especially since patients with HMOs may not get the thorough testing they need.

Shomon knows of what she speaks: she's a health writer and thyroid patient herself. She also manages a thyroid Web site and writes a newsletter on hypothyroidism. In Living Well, she offers an extensively researched guide to this complex condition. She covers conventional, alternative, and late-breaking approaches to treatment--such as challenging the gold standard of Synthroid as the thyroid replacement therapy of choice.(Synthroid replaces T4, the less active of the two thyroid hormones, and Shomon features new research on adding T3--the more potent thyroid hormone--to treatment.)

With her down-to-earth, patient-centered approach, Shomon explains everything from how to choose a thyroid specialist to how calcium, antidepressants, and a high-fiber diet affect thyroid hormone absorption. The book includes a chapter on depression, which is a typical misdiagnosis of hypothyroidism--as well as a symptom that often persists even after treatment. She also covers infertility (women who are hypothyroid don't ovulate as regularly and miscarry more frequently) and thyroid cancer, one of the less common causes of hypothyroidism. She explains how to spot hypothyroidism in kids, and ends with a glossary, international resources, and journal references.

Shomon creates a sense of community by excerpting e-mails from her vast network of patients--voices that bring a sense of humor so often missing from health books. One quibble: she could have avoided the antidoctor stance in the beginning of her book, where she blames physicians, rather than incomplete science, for the misdiagnosis and treatment of hypothyroidism. --Rebecca Taylor ... 5-0 out of 5 stars This book saved my life
I first heard of Mary Shomon through her excellent web site on hypothyroidism. Once I discovered that she had written this book, I promptly ordered it and read it from cover to cover. This book literally saved my life. Throughout my life, I have been ultrasensitive to hormonal changes and have suffered from a pituitary tumor. After my daughter was born, I was not the same person. My post-partum depression lasted a year and was coupled with other physical symptoms I could not explain. My primary care doctor was sympathetic and ran bunches of tests but they yielded nothing. Meanwhile, I got sicker and sicker with no hope in sight. Then I found and read this book. All of my symptoms were listed as hypothyroid symptoms. I had numerous risk factors for thyroid disease. I even found my specialist through this book and Mary's web site.

This book is a total eye-opener. Mary is a passionate advocate for patients everywhere who have lost hope. Her writing is clear and concise and explains complex information in a simple way. Not many writers can do that. In fact, this book is so good that I have recommended it to numerous friends of mine who also have thyroid problems. Even hyperthyroid patients should read it because they could end up hypothyroid.

Read it and then read it again. All medical books should have Mary Shomon at the helm. The world would be a much better place for it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hope for People Who are Told Their Thyroid is Normal
This is the most comprehensive, well researched, and best written book on this subject. The author is not a doctor but is so thoroughly informed on this subject through her own exhaustive research as well as through her collaboration and consultaton with recognized experts in many health disciplines including the medical field. She is someone who has suffered with hypothyroidism and has made it her mission to help others. I am an RN and I have read many other books on this subject and she is more thorough and professional in her approach than I've seen in most other books on the topic.

The author is refreshingly unbiased for the most part and readily admits where she may be biased due to her own personal experience. Even then, she writes with an open mind for the reader's sake to provide sound information so they can make intelligent choices. Her intention is clearly to help people understand the many ways this disease presents itself as well as to help people find appropriate treatment. She provides about 30 pages of resource material at the end of the book including web sites etc. literally leaving no stone unturned. If you have symptoms including fatigue, depression, digestive problems, weight gain, high cholesterol, fertility problems, low blood pressure, low body temperature, and brain fog to name a few, this may be important information to look at. Or if you have been tested for low thyroid and have been dismissed by medical professionals who say your thyroid is "in the normal range" but you know there is something wrong, buy this book! You may discover real help for the first time.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best reference guide for Hypothyroid patients
I have owned this book for several years. I keep it close to my bedside for reference. It is one of the best sources of information on hypothyroidism I have discovered and I own many books on this annoying disease! Mary J. Shomon also has a great website which I am constantly visiting for updates. I found a great endochronoligist in my area via her website. I recommend you buy this book you won't be sorry because you just won't read it once - you will continue to reference this information as long as you need it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Some fluff , but on the whole good,
As a long term thyroid sufferer I've read alot of information so it's hard to tell me something new but this book did and it helped. Mary gives us her story and others, she understands the scope of the problem and tries to address as many issues as she can. Most importantly, she understands how the problem can invade every area of your life and your whole body and really tries to help you find ways to feel better mentally, physically and emotionally.

5-0 out of 5 stars A GODSEND!!!
This book has been a godsend to me. It gave me details in real words that I could understand. The list of symptoms was very detailed and all the information is put together in such an easy to read format. I took it along to my doctor's visit and actually got thru to him for once!!

I HIGHLY recommend this book! ... Read more

Book Description

Here is Gerald May's brilliant and now classic exploration of the psychology and physiology of addiction. It offers an inspiring and hope-filled vision for those who desire to explore the mystery of who and what they really are. May examines the "processes of attachment" that lead to addiction and describes the relationship between addiction and spiritual awareness. He also details the various addictions from which we can suffer, not only to substances like alcohol and drugs, but to work, sex, performance, responsibility, and intimacy.

Drawing on his experience as a psychiatrist working with the chemically dependent, May emphasizes that addiction represents an attempt to assert complete control over our lives. Addiction and Grace is a compassionate and wise treatment of a topic of major concern in these most addictive of times, one that can provide a critical yet hopeful guide to a place of freedom based on contemplative spirituality.

5-0 out of 5 stars must-read, non-cliched religious view of addiction
A classic in its field, May's book draws on everything from neurological data to the Gospels to examine the pervasiveness of addiction in human experience. May is on staff at the Shalem Center in Washington DC and has written widely on the interface between psychology and spirituality. This is far from a popular-lever paean to the recovery movements; it will leave you wondering about the amount of freedom in your life.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wondering Why People Are Addicted?
A relative of mine is addicted to crack. His wife is addicted to him. My father was addicted to cigarettes. My father-in-law is addicted to food. And many, many other people in my life are addicted to a wide variety of things. I was watching all this addiction go on around me, not understanding.

I don't even remember how I found this book. I've now given away about five copies to people who also were struggling to understand the addicted people in their lives.

Gerald May takes you through the process from the beginning to the end. The why's and the wherefores. Every word that is written in the beginning of the book is absolutely necessary to understand the conclusions reached at the end.

Now, I understand.

This book has brought great relief to me personally in that I am not so perplexed and lost in trying to understand why addicted people do the things they do. If you've ever asked yourself questions like 'Why don't they just stop?' and 'Why doesn't she/he just leave them?' then you need to read this book.

It's short and sweet and incredibly well written.

5-0 out of 5 stars Breakthrough insights and a real help to recovery
I read this book (skipping the chapter on the biology of addiction and the brain) and was blown away. What simple, profound, essential insights May offers here. With the help of God's grace, using what May teaches, I was gifted with six straight days free of my food addiction for the first time in years - just eating like a normal person, eating what I wanted most when I felt physically hungry and stopping when I was full. It was a beautiful time of freedom and I want more. I know with the help of His grace many more such days are ahead of me. Thanks again and again, Dr. May - and thank you Lord for such a gift.

5-0 out of 5 stars Explore it all...
This book deal with all addictions, even things most people don't think are addictions. It also brings God into the picture, something even modern day A.A fails to do. It covers every area of our lives and our bodies and minds. Read it and then ask God for the grace you need.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best ever on addiction!
This book explains addiction from a scientific and religous perspective. As a sex addict and 12 step member I found it fascinating.

The AA Big Book states that "self-knowledge availed us nothing". That may be true and the author certainly implores the reader to turn to God for recovery from addiction; but the knowledge contained within this book is extrremely enlightening and introduces a novel and unique perspective to the concept of addiction and attachment. I think he is right on track. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I love, love, love this book and CD!!!
Before this book I always had a hard time with Neuro. I just got by when I took the class and I did below average on the subject on step one. Before I took a rotation in Neuro I read this book and it changed everything for me. Now I love to get neuro questions and I'm much more secure about patients with neuro presentations. Although it does not provide the detail as you would get from a comprehensive book, it makes the basics and the most common problems very clear. The CD is helpful and fun! It should be used along with the book; not just at the end. The CD has many pictures (gross and drawings) that help to visualize the neuro layout of the CNS. The great thing about this book is that you can read and understand it in a couple days if you're motivated.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great book
Goldberg just hit a home run with this book and anatomy made ridic simple. Neuro combined with the high yield fix book complement each other so well. Together they should be your primary board review. They are also great to read for you med school course also. Beautiful books

3-0 out of 5 stars Superficial explanations, too small in size, disorganized.
Well the thing about this book is that it really is not organized very well. So if you think that you're going to feel like your reading microbiology MRS book and getting that feeling like your really learning easily from it forget it. That is what I thought.
They book can get you frustrated at many pages and areas as you're reading it because it only explains crucial stuff superficially. I really liked the CD that came with it tho.
Although over simplistic; but builds up your confidence; so I really use the CD, I liked the CD even more then the book itself; you should read the book first to get the most out of the CD that comes with it. You need a nice atlas of neuroanatomy when reading this book....
Once you get to the end of this book and use the CD you feel better about it, you're feeling a little better by then but it's so weird the side of the book its so small does not give you enough room to add notes to it. The drawings are too small and not really enough to be considered good for the reader; you really get a little lost easily here and there when trying to follow the stuff that it tells you to look at in the text.
The pictures that it tells you to follow are misplaced in the pages...
They could be better positioned.
And also it does not explain stuff very well I mean if he just stretched out more when he's already explaining something it would be great, like when he talked about the brown sequad syndrome I had to read it elsewhere because I did not get the picture from reading his book alone of what that was.
Although the author tries to convey the message in an easy way, that makes it undemanding for you to understand it, the disorganization and the lack of explanations on some areas don't make this book thorough...
That's why the FA book rates it as a B book and not as an A book like it does for HY neuroanatomy.
I prefer this book's format tho then HY neuroanatomy but the quality of this book in several aspects could be so much improved.
The author should for his 4th edition pay a little more attention to the overall shape of the book and break down all the stuff that he's trying to explain; like really talk to the students; don't mind it's size that it might get to be, the important thing should be that then you can easily follow a very hard subject, such as neuroanatomy. In order to make its ratings go up, the size of the book should increase in size.
It will make it easier for us to follow and add notes, y?know graphs and all?
Meaning that this book has some flaws right that could be fixed very easily, overall you need a really nice neuroanatomy atlas to get the most out of this book.
It really stresses you out trying to read through those small letterings and the small drawings and so forth and so on.
It's already got its way cutout for to being an A+ rated book...
Just needs a little more shaping in place especially with the length of its explanations too and the size of the book which I think should be about the size of the same book from the series microbiology made ridiculously simple for in that way it would be easier to look at the hand made drawings plus the fact that we could add notes to it.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is the FIRST and ONLY place to start studying neuro!
As a medical student, I suggest that this is the first place you go to learn about neuroanatomy. It gives you the basics and builds a foundation that you can build on. After a few hours with this book, I was weeks ahead of my classmates!

5-0 out of 5 stars It's a kind of magic
I'm a emergency physician. In my junior residency,i had a hard time approaching the neurology patients, so needed neuroscience knowledge urgently. However most books i had met were tomes and time-consuming for me, also i had to get more back of neuroanatomy for understanding big books. Accidentally i started this book. it's took only three days even in busy resident period. OH!!! It's a magical experience. This book prevented me from being burned out and saved my day and also gave me self-confidence on the neurology. At last,I could understand - the notorious - "one and a half syndrome" which even Adam's neurology failed to teach me. So fantastic. I couldn't forget that feeling. I highly recommend this book for all beginner stuck by neurology. ... Read more

Book Description

In the decade since the first edition ofThe Neurobiology of Autism was published, tremendous advances have been made in our understanding of autism, including more precise investigations into the role played by genetics and abnormalities in such neurotransmitters as acetylcholine and serotonin. For this long-anticipated new edition, neurologists Margaret Bauman and Thomas Kemper bring together leading researchers and clinicians to present the most current scientific knowledge and theories about autism. The contributors cover genetics, imaging studies, physiology, neuroanatomy and neurochemistry, immunology, brain function, the epidemiology of the disease, and related disorders. Thoroughly updated,The Neurobiology of Autism remains the best single-volume work on the wide array of research being conducted into the causes, characteristics, and treatment of autism.

4-0 out of 5 stars Medical Photography ? techniques and equipment
Sections on patient photo-techniques, type of camera and flash equipment are very well detailed, are excellent and very well illustrated. However, chapter on digital photography was poor and not consistent with the quality of the information found in the rest of the book. In summary, this is a very good resource for interns/residents/fellows, medical photo technicians and physicians in practice. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Not a definitive resource
This book has had praise heaped upon it by previous reviewers. I'd like to put that in perspective. As an undergraduate text or a general encyclopedic reference for the unitiated, this book is reasonably comprehensive and contains substantial high-quality illustrations. However as a reference for more advanced students, there is insufficient detail to motivate serious discussion. I find "Principles of Neural Science" by Kandel, Schwartz, and Jessell far more useful despite being a year older than Bear, et al. If the goal is to lift artwork for a pleasingly graphical PowerPoint presentation, this book is a fantastic resource, but if you want more than jargon and an introduction to the topic (albeit comprehensive), I'd look elsewhere.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best for beginners in Neuroscience
This title is the best I have come across and is most suitable for beginners in neuroscince who have no background in biology. Once you start reading the book it is almost difficult to put it away unless you finish the book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Neuroscience Book
I just finished using this book for an undergraduate course in neuroscience. It was one of the best biology books I have ever obtained. I have since read the sections the course did not have the time to cover and enjoyed them all. The figures are excellent and greatly aid in your learning. The authors are even somewhat comical at some points. In all, I would highly recommend this book for the introductory neuroscientist!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great overview of neuroscience!
This book is a great introduction to neuroscience, and a good review of the field for those who need to brush up on basic knowledge. I majored in neuroscience at Brown University, and am now a graduate student in the field, and I still occasionally use this book as a quick reference. The figures are one of the best features of this book. ... Read more

Book Description

Cancer can now be cured, not only the early stages, but also advanced cancer, stages four and five, including imminent death. We are not accustomed to thinking about a cure. We think of remission as the only possiblity. But this book is not about remission. It is about a cure. this is possible because the true cause of cancer has been found. The Cause of the malignancy is explained in the earlier book, The Cure For All Cancers. But removing the malignancy left behind the tumors as they were, prior to the malignant development. So, eliminating tumors became the focus of additional research, and is the subject of this book. The 21 Day Program described in this book does both. Once you win this battle, even advanced cancer can be cured.

The success rate for advanced cancer is about 95%. So you can count on this method, not merely hope it will work for you. It is a total approach that not only shrinks tumors, but also normalizes your blood chemistry, lowers your cancer markers, and returns your health. The small failure rate (5%) is due to clinical emergencies that beset the advanced cancer sufferer. However, if you combine the advice in this book with access to hospital care, even "hopeless" patients can gain the time necessary to become well again. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A Cure For Ignorance In The Treatment Of Cancer
A groundbreaking book which should currently set standard for treatment of cancer. Recommend evaluating suggestions given in this book with muscle testing and/or dowsing to custom fit program to individual.

An advancement over previously written book - A Cure For All Cancers.

5-0 out of 5 stars Ethics or economy? That is the question.
Give up your oncologist if you want to cure yourself of cancer. Make the choice! Either you undergo a treatment of drugs, radiation and surgery which is worse than the disease itself,(success rates are worse than doing NOTHING) or you undergo a comprehensive treatment that is 95% successful.

In 100 years we have gone from 1 person in 8000 getting cancer to almost 1 in 2! Obviously the cause of this disease is the multiple change factors of our food supply, environment and lifestyle. This book will show you ALL of these! This is a top notch protocol from a brilliant scientist. This treatment is so effective it is catching on like wildfire in Germany, Switzerland, Norway, Rome, Mexico etc. (Pope John Paul II physician Dr.Adolpho Panfilli follows it!) Why the popularity there and not in the western world? Perhaps cancer is a very lucrative buisness like cars or electronics? There is undoubtedly more money to be made off of "many" office appointments, drugs, operations, computer equipment scans(and the equipment itself.) Lets not forget the buisness of university which keeps young budding scholars adding to the "latest technology" in equipment and research to cure this menace. Do you not see how all this is connected?

Simple answer to a simple question, "What are we relying on to find the cure to cancer?" Answer: Our ECONOMY! Unfortunately the words "cure" and "economy" don't fit very well! The word "economy" is a little more synonamous with "suffering."

The choice is yours. Someone has finally flipped the coin. Thank you Dr. Clark!

1-0 out of 5 stars 1:8000 v. 1:2
In response to the eloquent review written by the esteemed, Corey F.Dyok. Sir, in your review you have proposed that the cancer rate has skyrocketed from 1:8000 to 1:2... brilliant! In a brief review of the history of cancer for the lesser informed. Cancer has been documented in the literature for over 5,000 years. Over the past 10,000 years, life expectancy remained at 30-years until the past 150 years when life expectancy dramatically rose to 70-years. "During the past 150 years, there has been a progressive elimination of infectous diseases as a major cause of death, and because most children now survive to reproductive age a sudden population explosion has ensued"[Cairns, John]. So, plain and simply, diseases of old age occur frequently because we now have an aged society. And the diseases of old age are cardiovascular disease and cancer.

FYI: the Federal Trade Commision is currently in court to try to shut down Dr. Clark's website for making unsubstantiated claims...in their own words: The FTC argues that Dr. Clark's work must be scientifically proven according to their standards, otherwise we may not publish it, and therefore you can't read it.

1-0 out of 5 stars Is this lady for real?
People will believe anything. This book is full of proposperous claims, and scientifically impossible devices. The idea of a 9V battery "zapping" parasited deep in body tissues is most ridiculase. Last time I checked, the skin was quite an insulator. The book has no hard facts to back up all the claims. Where are the many people that are cured from these cancers and even HIV/AIDS. There are none, because the only diaganosis cured were tested by some hocus pocus in the quacks private practice. No medically diagonosed cases have ever been cured by this money grubbing con aritist. The book tries to generate fear about being contaminated by everyday living. The cure, send money for off the wall products and supplements with no quality control packing. If you would by the brooklin bridge, this book is for you. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Medical Micro Text Ever-Reads Like a Good Novel!
I teach microbiology to nursing students, so I only use this book as a reference. It's a wonderful book; I take it to bed with me and don't fall asleep (really). The information is comprehensive without being unnecesarily difficult, and the organization and presentation are so intuitive, it seems to answer your next question before you even formulate it. My only gripe is WHERE IS THE NEW EDITION??? Even though this book is old, 1998, it's still worth the money, but it doesn't have the new emergent diseases like TSE and SARS.

5-0 out of 5 stars great for therapeutics class and for pharmacy practice
This is a great book, easy to read and follow. Concise enough where you can read it fast but with enough background information so the drug therapy makes sense. You will get a thorough understanding on what drugs are used and why. Picks up on the key points a pharmacist needs to know in practice and a student or someone who is studying for the boards needs to know for exams. Flowcharts are great, has JNC-VI guidelines which are the standard when it comes to drug therapy and pharmaceutical care. Overall, a great book that will enhance your understanding by leaps and bounds.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent presentation of an effective therapy
As a psychologist who has utilized Schema Therapy for several years I found that this work far surpassed my expectations.

Schema Therapy, which originally evolved from cognitive therapy, integrates theory and technques from various fields, including behavior therapy, cognitive therapy, gestalt therapy and object relations. This theoretical synthesis is presented in a remarkably straightforward manner that even the beginning therapist will find easy to follow and utilize.

The book is highly readable and loaded with specific clinical interventions. The last two chapters, on treating borderlines and narcissists, are worth the price of the book alone.

I'd recommend this book to any therapist from any orientation. Cognitive and behavior therapists will find the focus on early childhood experience and deeper emotions to be be a useful extension of knowledge presented in a logical down to earth manner. Therapists from more traditional backgrounds will benefit from this exposure to an effective treatment which has systematic recommendations for treating long term problems. ... Read more
