5-0 out of 5 stars great all around review of fetal and pediatric ultrasound
I thouroghly enjoyed this review series, especially as I was preparing for oral boards. Full range of fetal and pediatric U/S topics are covered in concise yet thought provoking manner. Cases are presented as unknown just as on would expect in actual clinical practice, followed by description of the findings, most likely diagnosis, discussion of the entity and companion cases. Image quality is very good. I highly recommend this review series by Drs. Cohen and Sivit.

5-0 out of 5 stars Loved It!
Very informative textbook. Skips through unnecessary gobbledygook i.e. CONCISE and TO THE POINT.
Ideal format for residents as well as practicing radiologists. Up-to-date information.
Quality of pictures is SUPERB.
Highly RECOMMEND this book as a Board Review text, as well.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great book for board review!
Excellent for self testing for Radiology Boards with the added benefit of the answers and review pages acting as a textbook of pediatric and fetal ultrasound but in a interestingly refreshing format. I enjoyed reading it tremendously. A definite 5 star.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great All-round Book
One must congratulate Harris Cohen and Carlos Civit for the first edition of their book. Both Authors have written several texts before and their experience in writing and teaching shows. Their book covers a great deal of detail and has high quality images yet still reads easily. Another strength of this text is that Drs. Cohen and Civit assembled a large cast of contributors from different institutions thereby ensuring that there is no institutional bias which sometimes plagues similar books. Furthermore, they go to great length to provide several points of view on each topic. Having said that, the editors did an excellent job of maintaining consistency across the board. In summary, this is a well illustrated, detailed reference book for specialist yet, as it reads easily, can be used by the trainee. ... Read more

Book Description

This landmark work in women's health identifies and offers solutions to the hormonal dysfunctions afflicting millions of young women, teens, and even children, that rob women of future fertility and contribute to devastating problems -- from early onset puberty and obesity to depression and increased cancer risk.

Women's health is more than breast cancer, pregnancy, and menopause. In this groundbreaking new work, Dr. Elizabeth Lee Vliet identifies and explains rarely acknowledged, pervasive threats to young women's health and fertility -- PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome), POD (Premature Ovarian Decline), and Premature Ovarian Failure (menopause in the young) -- and the overlooked causes of endometriosis, cystitis, early puberty, allergies, heart disease, mood disorders, depression, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, bone loss, anxiety, obesity, and diabetes.

A kind of Silent Spring of women's health, It's My Ovaries, Stupid! presents compelling evidence from worldwide research that common environmental toxins and endocrine disruptors in pesticides, plastic food wrappers, food additives, preservatives, soy supplements, aspartame in diet sodas and junk food, and more -- as well as lifestyle factors such as stress -- can all profoundly disrupt hormone function, even in childhood.

Insidious robbers of quality of life, fertility, and health, hormone dysfunctions are on the rise today, afflicting younger and younger women.

Why? What can you do about it? How can you get tested? What treatments are available? Dr. Vliet interprets the latest scientific research and draws on more than twenty years of clinical experience to answer these and many other crucial questions about common health problems in young women.

Whose job is it to take care of the ovaries...beyond their function in reproduction? Why do you have trouble getting help for "hormone problems" that are clearly linked to your monthly cycle? It's My Ovaries, Stupid! bridges this gap in women's health care and shows you how to understand your symptoms and get reliable tests, how to receive treatment and improve your health, how to wade through the controversies surrounding hormone replacement therapy, and how to explore cutting-edge options for thyroid problems.

You can't afford not to read this book. Your life, your fertility, and your long-term health may depend on it. It's not all in your head, and it's not just stress. It's your ovaries! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended for all women
I'd always suspected birth control pills were triggering my vulvodynia episodes, but numerous gynecologists wouldn't even consider a connection. When I took birth control pills for a third time and had another vulvodynia flare-up -- along with urinary urgency and other symptoms of estrogen deficiency, such as pre-ovulatory and pre-menstrual mood swings -- I knew I that something to do with my hormones. Thank god for Elizabeth Vliet. I read "Screaming To Be Heard" first, which is excellent -- but this book contains most of the same information in a style that is much easier to read. Sure enough, when my hormones were tested, they confirmed everything that Vliet's book said they would base don my symptoms. This book can't take the place of your doctor, but it can help you take control of your medical problems by learning how your body works and what tests to ask for. I'd recommend it for any woman who has unexplained medical problems or is nearing menopause -- actually, any woman, period.

5-0 out of 5 stars I learned more from this book than from any of my doctors
This book is a godsend. As a woman with polycystic ovarian syndrome, I have encountered many doctors and family members who felt that all of my symptoms could not possibly have been caused by a hormonal disturbance. You would not believe some of the stupid, unhelpful things doctors have said to me, such as suggesting that maybe the cause of my symptoms was depression (I'm not depressed!). However, since reading this book I have been able to take much more control over my own treatment. I wish every doctor would read this book. The hormone connections Dr. Vliet talks about are amazing, and the wisdom she shares indispensable. People still don't have enough of an understanding of how women's bodies work, and this book is the best one i've seen on the subject. (Because of my condition, I've read MANY books on women's health and PCOS, and this book is the only one that's truly been able to help me). I urge you to read this book and begin to take control over your own body.

2-0 out of 5 stars THIS DR. ROCKS
This book is written for a woman by a woman. You will benefit from Dr. Vliet's knowledge of the subject of PCOS. She sheds light on all areas of the subject. PLEASE get a copy of this book if you are suffering of PCOS. You will not regret it!

5-0 out of 5 stars Read this book! Answers no one else will give you.
Vliet does a wonderful job of explaining how hormones work and why you are dragging through life when they are out of balance. If you think you have a hormone problem, suffer from unexplained fatigue, have PCOS, endemetriosis, or any other female disorder, you need to read this book, Then, if your doctor is not listening, fire them and find someone who will help you get well.

She offers real information about the dangers of environmental chemicals and food additives that you won't find elsewhere. Learn what you need to know to regain your life and protect your body from the chemicals that are contributing to the epidemic of fertility problems, obesity, depression and fatigue.

My only problem with this book is that Vliet completely dismisses all natural treatments as dangerous. There are dangerous herbs, some of the most potent poisons come from plants. But the majority of herbs have a safety record that goes back centuries. I do hope she takes the time to learn about the herbs and natural treatments that are proven to work safely.

5-0 out of 5 stars This woman just gets it!!!
This book just makes sense! Every thing I have been feeling, fatigue, headache, anger out of proportion to events, moody, everything now has a possable answer. This book may not be the answer to everyones problems but it at leat gives you hope and a place to start. I didn't have that before. I'm actualy going to see this woman, she just gets it! EVERY woman needs to read this book even if she is not having problems, if not for herself then for her daughter, neice, or mother. We need to quit blindly trusting our Dr. They are only human. Information, and a good strong backbone to demand what's best for you as an individual is the key to good health care. This will greatly help with the information part of it. It's amazing how little we know about our bodies when the information is out there. Dr. Vliet not only tells you the what but explains the why as well. Then she backs everything up with documented lab studies. It's very interesting what has been found that is ignored. People go from Dr. to Dr. to Dr. on other issues untill they find a Dr. that tells them something that makes sense and that they can work with. Why not on hormones. If you have been to your Dr. for problems they can't explain or give an explnation that doesn't make sense to you, this book is your 2nd opnion. If you have or have had or love someone who has or have had overies you need to read this book. This woman just gets it!!!! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Easy reading textbook...
This is a great text for 3rd year med student rotations. It covers all the basics and is the easiest reading textbook I've come across during my rotations thus far. The end of book questions are good for basic facts and are extensive, but are not at all board style. This plus Blueprints Clinical Cases, however, provides more than sufficient preparation for the Shelf exam. At times you might need a more extensive reference such as Williams for more detailed info, but I found this to be rare. Even if you're not remotely interested in OB/Gyn, still an excellent option to provide a foundation of information for exams and boards.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent book
As a medical student I really liked this book , simple yet it includes all the important details you need as a student. Moreover, you can test your knowledge with the MCQs included.I always get asked from where do I study. It is a must have for all medical students. I highly recommend it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Must have for OB/Gyn rotation
This book is absolutely an A+. Of all of the required texts I have purchased this year, this one is by far the best. It is very well written. The information is detailed enough without overwhelming a third year student. The book provided short and manageable chapters that could be read and digested quickly. The questions at the end were a life-saver come test time. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars An important reference for Chinese women's medicine
While it necessarily falls short of its encyclopedic vision, Maciocia's latest will become an important reference, not only for those emphasizing women's medicine, but for anyone studying Chinese medicine theory. Since one cannot expect to present more than an overview of the breadth and depth of this speciality, the book's few shortcomings can easily be forgiven.

On the upside, this book contains the most lucid and thorough discussion of eight extraordinary vessels theory in English, as it pertains to women's medicine, although the information on eight extraordinary vessels is not limited thereto.

The chapter on Chinese medicine and midwifery may clear much confusion around obstetrics and Chinese medicine and is, again, perhaps the clearest presentation of the subject in English.

Some common syndromes are not discussed with the same degree of thoroughness that theory receives, but it is better to expound theory at the expense of a few pattern differentiations than vice versa, since pattern differentiation ultimately stems from theory.

This book can definitely enhance the practice of Chinese women's medicine, and the eight extraordinary vessels discussion is sufficient to be useful outside of the specialty as well. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Very mainstream but worthwhile
While I am not a "mainstream " childbirth educator, there are many aspects of this book that I have found myself referring back to during my teaching career. It was very helpful in learning about the adult learner and thier particular physical, emotional , sociocultural and cognitive needs. The chapter on the "the basis of relaxation" was very interesting as it helped me understand the history of using relaxation in childbirth and the different philosphies behind each technique. Biofeedback, therapeutic touch and acupressure were presented in an extremely informative manner. The basics of the childbirth education business arepresented( something that can be overlooked in most teachers passion for their "Cause"). A very mainstreamm textbook that can be of great value to both hospital and independent educators alike. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars short and helpful, good section on symptoms
I found myself referring back to this one a lot, it has a very easy to find and read section on symptoms and bodily changes--what to expect when and what to do about it. I liked the drawings of how big the baby is for my older kids, too. Not very in depth, though.

5-0 out of 5 stars If you want to know about Pregnancy this book is for you!
"While Waiting", published in 1981, was written by George E. Verrilli, M.D. and Anne Marie Mueser, ED.D. Together they composed a well-written, highly informing book about pregnancy. Both of the authors are highly educated on the subject of pregnancy, therefore in this book they are able to answer any questions an anticipating mother may have during the 9 months of her pregnancy and after the child is born. I advise anyone who wants to educate him/herself on what a woman's body is going through during pregnancy to buy this book. ... Read more

Book Description

The complete and essential guide to birth with a doula by the "undisputed experts in the field."-- Los Angeles Times

More and more parents-to-be all over the world are choosing the comfort and reassuring support of birth with a trained labor companion called a "doula." This warm, authoritative, and irreplaceable guide completely updates the authors' earlier book, Mothering the Mother, and adds much new and important research. In addition to basic advice on finding and working with a doula, the authors show how a doula reduces the need for cesarean section, shortens the length of labor, decreases the pain medication required, and enhances bonding and breast feeding. The authors, world-renowned authorities on childbirth with combined experience of over 100 years working with laboring women, have made their book indispensable to every woman who wants the healthiest, safest, and most joyful possible birth experience.

1-0 out of 5 stars Out of date info
Read other books and find that this is for people in the maybe 70's! It is not interesting for my 2004 life. Don't be fooled by the horror stories and read other books that depict the good points and bad points but not just the bad.

5-0 out of 5 stars very comprehensive book about doulas
I had Mothering the Mother from the same authors, and was not sure if it was going to be worth it to buy The Doula Book, the 2nd edition. As soon as I picked a copy up in the store, I realized that is was going to be worth it. It has a lot of updated information in it, additional birth stories and examples, and much more information, without loosing any of the info about the very first research.
I am glad that it still provides the perspective of 'how it all started' which I find sadly missing in other books about doulas and the aspect of labor support. Well, and who better to write about it then the pioneering researchers themselves, who are also Founders of Doulas of North America (DONA), the largest doula organization.

While the continuous emotional, physical and informational support of a doula just makes common sense, this books provides the data and the research results for those who need them to understand the value of a doula. I recommend this book all the time to those who wnat to understand the role of a doula better, and those who want to become a doula themselves.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fabulous Resource for info on Doulas!
I'm not sure why some of the other reviewers were so negative about this book. It provides a great review of the research regarding doulas positive impact on labor and birth, addresses doulas and dads, and generally gives you an idea of what to expect from your doula. Definitely something to check out if you're interested in maintaining as natural of a childbirth as possible -- even if you know you'll be induced or have a cesarean birth!

1-0 out of 5 stars One of the few books I have ever returned
I bought this book because I am interested in having someone with me during my labor who can provide some of the "warm fuzzies" and constant attention that perhaps my OB and nursing staff cannot. What I found in this grossly outdated book was a clear statement against pain medication during labor, likening it to a "non-birth." It was when I saw that statement, coupled with other, unfounded, horror stories about epidurals that I realized I had come across an extreme political perspective (much like the abortion debate) as opposed to a well-rounded, informative and soothing description of what a doula can offer. If I were a doula, I would be horrified by what I hope is a very narrow minded opinion of their work.

1-0 out of 5 stars Outdated, despite the revisions, and damaging to the field
I had originally intended to buy "The Doula Book" (formerly Mothering the Mother), but found it to be outdated in both it's writing style and the audience it addressed (the 70's mother), despite the fact that it was recently updated. It begins with a description of a happy couple immagining a birth where they are the only two people present in which the baby is born easily and effortlessly at home. Though I was born at home and I actually know a couple that delivered their own baby, this kind of imagry is not what most couples in North America today have around birth. Most of the book tends to exclude mainstream North America--the people who need doulas most. Instead, I highly recommend "The Doula Advantage" by Rachel Gurevich. I found her book by accident while shopping for "The Doula Book." I couldn't put it down so I bought it, and then stayed up all night reading it cover to cover. It is concise, engaging, and written for a wide audience, which gets the message out: doulas are good for ALL types of labors from cesarean sections to nonmedicated homebirths and everything inbetween. (Not just "hippy" types--don't get me wrong, I'm one of them--wanting a natural birth, as seems to be suggested by The Doula Book). It discusses how a doula has been proven to dramatically decreese rates of c-sections, episiotomies, medications and other overly-used medical interventions, but also admits that sometimes these interventions are necessary, and explains how the Doula can provide support for this as well. She gives accounts of mothers, fathers, doulas and health providers to present a clear picture of what a doula can do for everyone involved in the prenatal, labor and postnatal experience. It is empowering to women and their partners without being overly philosophical or "corney" (to quote the author herself). It is an honest look at birth in the North American setting of today, that takes into account the history of birth in the US and Canada and is frank about the situation today in hospitals and out. I highly recommend this book instead of "The Doula Book" for expecting mothers and fathers, people considering becoming doulas (I am seriously considering it after reading this book), and anyone who wants a clear picture of what a doula is. ... Book Description

In this revolutionary work -- a landmark that signals the true beginning of feminist medicine -- a doctor, a philosopher, and a scientist prove that by postponing marriage and motherhood, women have accelerated the aging process, resulting in earlier menopause and, ultimately for thousands, earlier death. In Sex, Lies, and Menopause, T.S. Wiley, Julie Taguchi, M.D., and Bent Formby, Ph.D., turn thirty years of medical and cultural wisdom on its head, challenging both

the medical establishment and modern feminists who believe women can delay childbearing that menopause, a natural state of female maturity, does not have to lead to potentially deadly medical conditions.

Sex, Lies, and Menopause offers strong evidence that the use of synthetic hormones leads to cancer and advises women to turn to natural hormone replacement therapy -- derived from plants, not drugs -- to help them elevate their estrogen level for greater energy, libido, and intellectual capacity. A groundbreaking effort of creative insight and astute research, this book fearlessly tackles one of the greatest health crises facing American women today.

Provocative, empowering, and scientifically sound, Sex, Lies, and Menopause addresses the inherent benefits of natural progesterone, reveals the lies advanced by the medical and drug establishments, and challenges women to demand a medical future where their health comes first. The research presented here will at last allow women to create their own plan of action by safely putting themselves on the path to better health and hormonal balance at any stage of life.

5-0 out of 5 stars THE ONLY BOOK ON HRT TO READ
Diana Schwarzbein is highly touted by Suzanne Somers, in her book THE SEXY YEARS as the master of bioidentical hormone replacement. Somers' radical weight gain is typical of Schwarzbein's patients. So are hair loss, insomnia, hot flashes, low sex drive, depression, mood swings, uterine hyperplasia and cancer. Schwarzbein has been sued multiple times by patients who developed cancer under her care. I'm grateful that women finally have bioidentical HRT, but it's not a perfect science and thoughtfulness and care needs to be taken when prescribing it. Suzanne Somers did a great service to many women by writing a book against synthetic HRT, but Diana Schwarzbein is definitely not the doctor to see for bioidentical HRT. And SEX, LIES AND MENOPAUSE by T.S. Wiley, Julie Taguchi, M.D. and Bent Formby, Ph.D. is the only book on HRT to read. After eight years on HRT, I have often wondered why I was doing it to myself as the ups and downs and all the problems didn't seem worth the purported benefits. But I've been on the Wiley protocol for eight months and now I'm finally enjoying the benefits of HRT. The Wiley protocol is the only bioidentical regimen that comes close to mimicking the hormones produced by a woman's body. I intend to continue the Wiley protocol for life. I hope Suzanne Somers wakes up and realizes what Schwarzbein has done to her and seeks out another doctor to prescribe the Wiley protocol. It's the only cancer preventative HRT protocol.

5-0 out of 5 stars AWESOME BOOK!! In response to: Reader Beware!!!!
A few questions for "Reader Beware":

What pharmaceutical$$$$$$$$ company do you represent? Wyeth Ayerst..... aka:A reader from SingSing?????? Shame on you!!!

Why do you state that the authors are simply against Wyeth Ayerst's PATENTABLE AND THEREFORE HUGELY PROFITABLE, PREMPRO, A POOR EXCUSE FOR HORMONE REPLACEMENT when in fact, this book is all about bio identical hormone replacement therapy instead of Wyeth Ayerst's DEADLY HRT DRUGS!!! You are chosing to miss the WHOLE POINT OF THIS BOOK!

Not only have Prempro and Premerin FAILED to provide sustained health ...........It has caused the RAPID DECLINE IN WOMENS HEALTH!! WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO "FIRST DO NO HARM"? Shame on you again!! How do you sleep at night?

The "stance" taken by the authors is that PROPERLY BALANCED AND RHYTHMIC, BIO-IDENTICAL HORMONES are not even the slightest bit similar to WIDLEY PRESCRIBED (CHEMICALLY ALTERED FOR PROFIT AND PATENTABILITY) SYNTHETIC, FAKE, and DANGEROUS PREMERIN AND PREMPRO!!

WHO SAYS THE AUTHORS HAVE "NO PROOF" THAT ANYTHING AFFLICTING WOMEN IN OLD AGE IS ACTUALLY DUE TO ESTROGEN DECLINE AT MENOPAUSE? Quite the contrary as is revealed in this GREAT BOOK and numerous other studies....... Period. End of story.

Why would Wyeth Ayerst hide and not make publically available , the evidence provided for licensing of Prempro? Pehaps because results showed a higher risk for cardiovascular events in women taking HRT?

Please READ: Pharmaceutical Companies Concealed, Distored Data that Detailed HRT Risks: British Medical Journal, February 28, 2004

As far as single randomized double-blind-placebo-controlled clinical trials are concerned, I suggest Wyeth Ayerst front the money (OUR MONEY!) for such a independent test WHICH WILL NEVER HAPPEN BECAUSE IT WOULD DISTROY THEIR MONEY MAKING ABILITIES and expose the truth. This is ALL about MONEY AND PATENTABILITY IN THE GUISE OF "WOMENS HEALTH"$$$

In closing, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that women everywhere read this book and share it with all of their friends and loved ones. WE NEED TO GATHER TOGETHER TO MAKE THIS BOOK AND INFORMATION MAIN STREAM KNOWLEDGE FOR THE HEALTH/SAKE OF WOMEN EVERYWHERE........ NO MORE LIES!!

Wake up Sing Sing! Read about the class action lawsuit being brought against Prempro!! Look online for "Prempro Class Action Information Center".

5-0 out of 5 stars Don't start or reject HRT until you read this book!
After trying a natural approach to Menopause symptoms (didn't work) then trying traditional physician recommended HRT(worked a short while) then going back to heavier doses of natural substances(black cohosh, wild yam, bla bla bla) which alleviated symptoms greatly, I was still confused and scared of cancer possibilities. This book exposes the manipulation of studies funded by Drug companies to get results they want to profit from HRT that harms more than it helps. It will inform you, educate you, and rid you of the fears that estrogen and progesterone promote cancer ( they do in conventional HRT, hormones not identical to your physiology) This book gave me hope that aging is not a possible early death sentence, my waist is not destined to hopelessly expand no matter how much I diet and excersise, and that my cognitive abilities are not a thing of the past, I really can remember that I put my car keys in the Fridge. It's all about natural beta-17 estrogen(like you use to produce) and natural(USP) progesterone . The reason they're not perscribed to you is because they are natural, and therefore can't be patented, ergo, no money for the Big Drug Co.s. This book ties in your body as an entire organism, and explains how hormones have to be in sync to keep you healthy. When your hormones are in sync, heart disease, brain disease(Alzheimers) and other ills of "old Age" can be greatly reduced. If you want to take charge of your own health, read this book!

2-0 out of 5 stars Not worth the money....
Potential buyers should be aware that, of the 398 pages in the hardcover edition, 144 pages are reference notes, glossary and index. The price should be half of what the publisher is asking.

1-0 out of 5 stars Early motherhood to prevent disease?
I can't judge the authors' promotion of natural (ie plant-derived) HRT, although the overheated hyped-up tone of the book does not inspire confidence. However, their promotion of early childbearing -- preferably before 20! -- and MULTIPLE childbearing is preposterous. The costs to women of having babies too early --lost education and work opportunities, hasty marriage, immature parenthood, lifelong lowered earnings -- far outweigh the modest hormonal benefits. Basically, this is another book that tells women emancipation is bad for them -- nature wants them barefoot and pregnant and breastfeeding for 15 months per child.
To read this book you'd think no woman lived past 50 unless she followed this taxing reproductive schedule. And yet, women's life expectancy in the US and other modern industrialized low-birthrate countries is the highest it's ever been, and getting higher. ... Read more

Book Description

The rate of c-section births has risen dramatically in the United States, accounting for more than twenty-four percent of deliveries in 2001. Yet there is no up-to-date book on the market dedicated to undergoing and recovering from the most commonly performed surgery in the U.S. Now two veteran journalists in health, parenting, and fitness have teamed up to create a candid and carefully researched guide for the nearly one million mothers facing or recovering from a cesarean.

Covering both the physical and emotional aspects of this surgery, The Essential C-Section Guideoffers frank discussions of the special circumstances a C-section delivery presents. Readers will discover a host of important facts, ranging from the effects of a C-section on future deliveries to the risks of anesthesia. The authors also share comforting wisdom about the feelings of inadequacy a C-section can cause and tips on caring for an infant while healing from this major procedure. The latest recommendations regarding exercise, pain, and nursing are addressed in-depth as well.

Written by authors who have firsthand knowledge of C-section delivery, The Essential C-Section Guide provides thorough answers to the many overwhelming questions associated with cesareans. Informative and supportive, this is reassuring reading for every expectant mother.

5-0 out of 5 stars The must read book for all c-section moms
I am so happy that this book was published! The amazing fact is that 1 in 4 births are c-sections; however, this is rarely shared in birthing classes. Doctors and nurses also have difficulty understanding the emotional strain, let alone the physical pain. This book is the first I've seen that covers pain control, healing, what happens during the surgery, and getting your body back. Like most women, my first c-section was an emergency. I felt uneducated and ill equipped to find any helpful resources. I wish someone had passed this book onto me then! I feel that this book needs to be on every doctor's book shelf and then given to women to read before or after their c-section.

5-0 out of 5 stars I wish I had this book after my first c-section!
My first baby was born after an emergency c-section -- I had "planned" on a natural childbirth! I was so unprepared for the experience that it took me months to get over it. With my second one, the c-section was planned so I wanted to know what to expect. I couldn't find a book out there and my pregnancy books barely covered the topic.

Now I'm pregnant with my third and know I'll be having another c-section so I am thrilled that there is finally a book to help me. This book is amazing -- it's so easy to read and the authors really explain everything you need to know about c-sections. I especially appreciated the information on breastfeeding and the exercise chapters are awesome. Reading a full description of the surgery also helped me make some sense of what had happened to me -- and now I know exactly what to expect.

5-0 out of 5 stars A sneak peek
I co-authored this book and we're actually working with the publisher on getting an excerpt posted on Amazon. In the meantime, you may want to check out our website. www.csectionguide.com, to read some online excerpts. If you like what you see, you can order the book direct from amazon. Thanks! 3-0 out of 5 stars I can't buy it
I'm not buying this book because I cannot see the inside.

And as for the three stars, why isn't there an option for n/a for the stars? I can't send this review without it. ... Read more
