2-0 out of 5 stars OK book, not worth more than $70-80
An OK book which covers lots of procedures, however one could NEVER get a thorough understanding of any of the procedures by reading this book. Each complex operation is way oversimplified into 4-5 basic drawings. An atlas should be a thorough description of a procedure, complete with pearls, indications, pre-op/post-op guidelines, and a thorough description with comprehensive drawings of the operative steps- this doesn't even come close. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars wells eye manual
As an optometrist in practise for 25 years, I try to update my desk reference collection regularly. A new young associate recommended this manual, and he was right. Its compact, comprehensive, alphabetically-organzied format makes it easy to use and good browsing material for the rare quiet moment at the office. As well it keeps me current. I think this is a great buy.

5-0 out of 5 stars A must for every therapeutic eye care practice.
Organized, thorough and useful. Includes refractive surgery management

5-0 out of 5 stars excellent reference guide
The Wills Eye Manual is a wonderful quick reference tool for the eye care professional. The sections on various conditions are concise and to the point. The only weakness in this book is that it isn't all inclusive, and is light on uveitis. I truly think this is one book on vision/ocular disease that doctors and staff shouldn't be without. ... This book is a real gem for any trainee in ophthalmology. I read it initially as a medical student, and then again for the oral boards. Without a doubt, this is the most concise book for the orals, and many of the questions that I was asked were well reviewed by the authors of this book. It made my orals a snap!

    Book Description

Neoplastic and non-neoplastic diseases of the major and minor salivary glands of the upper aerodigestive tract are, on the whole, relatively uncommon; however, they ignite interest in clinicians from many backgrounds. This book presents a re-evaluation of our understanding of salivary gland disease. There is now an accumulated body of clinical data to add to the longer-standing pathological evidence. This book attempts to integrate the newer clinical findings with the historical pathological record, and to highlight, and where possible, resolve any conflicts between the two. The book is divided into four sections. The first section introduces the topic and covers epidemiology, aetiology and classification. Sections two and three cover the benign and malignant neoplasms, and the final section examines other chronic disorders and calculi. Throughout, the chapters are presented as a series of controversies, with the respective arguments presented, discussion included and some editorial comment added as a summary. The authors are all international authorities in their respective fields. It should be read by general and maxillofacial surgeons, oncologists and otolaryngologists, as well as plastic and paediatric surgeons, clinical immunologists and radiologists. ... Read more
