A Nursing Student's Opinion
After reviewing many Drug Guides and Reference Books I purchased the Lippincott. I have found it to be an invaluable support tool and source of information. The format is very organized, straight-forward and thorough. It is the one drug guide that contains all information needed for pharmacology, everyone else in class that purchased "other" drug guides have borrowed my Lippincott to find information that their books did not provide. Most of these fellow students have since purchased a Lippincott and tossed the "other" drug guides aside. It is the only drug guide that I will use now and in the future. ... Read more

The best Nurses Drug Reference I have found
This book is the first reasonably priced nurses drug reference I have purchased. The print is easy on the eyes, the book stays open when you need it, and the information is detailed and includes beneficial alerts in red.

The single reason I did not give it a 5 star is because it does not have the main drug interection complication in bold (I am used to seeing this in other reference books)... Still.. this is, by far, the best drug reference I have found in over three years of nursing.

Finally, a drug handbook you can read
The publisher's comments are, for once, right on the money on this new book, but they seem to gloss over the big news--the page layout is fantastic and you can actually read the type! I also found it full of very practical information and geared to the nurse rather than the MD. There are a lot of drug handbooks out there (maybe too many, in fact) but this one is the one I'm probably going to use the most often. ... Read more

This Drug Reference is a quick, handy and always useful guide for any nursing area. The Nursing Considerations are appropriate and have easy access for review. Up to date with Patient Teaching Guides Windows (disk included)! Is a timely addition for computer literate nurses.

Leaves out too many drugs
I am a budding medical transcriptionist, learning the trade. One of the ways I learn is to have good references on hand to look up medical terms and drugs. This book has helped me out perhaps 50% of the time. It simply does not have all the drugs I need. If you are looking for a quick consumer reference, this may be just the thing, but on the other hand, it does not have everything. Look elsewhere for complete information.

Fast reference for drug information
This is a good book for a fast reference to drug information. It's a compact little book that gives you the generic and trade name of the drug, drug action, contraindications, drug interactions and other helpful information about the drug you may want to search for. It also has a handy medical abbreviations list for a quick reference of medical abbreviations. For the price, it is a good deal. Don't regreat getting this little drug guide. If you can't afford PDR or Drug Facts and Comparisons this one can help a lot. ... Read more
