4-0 out of 5 stars Almost 5 stars but,
I have found some mistakes in the "answer" sections of the book. Nothing substantial, but enough to warrant a double check over your answers. Don't just assume you got it wrong because the book says so. Otherwise, a great help.

5-0 out of 5 stars Worth Every Penny!!
This book is perfect for anyone studying to get their GED. I bought it a few weeks ago and it has helped me sooo much. The pre tests are great! When you get answers wrong it shows you your weak points and where exactly to study. This book is worth every penny. I love it!

5-0 out of 5 stars I love this book!
This book is great! I haven't gotten too far into it yet, but what i did get through, i am very pleased with. I'm very glad i bought it because the GED test has changed quite a bit over the last 12 years, so i'm going to need to study. It has pretests in the beginning from every subject that is recommended to take before you go any further in the book. After you take the pretest, you then check your answers w/ their answer key at the end of that pretest. If you got any wrong then there is another chart where you mark which questions you got wrong. It will then tell you which page you need to go to to study those weak points. There is more, but i haven't gotten that far to tell about.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Study Guide
I can't imagine anyone who really studys this book failing the NEW GED. The book, while overwhelming in size, is easy to follow and does an excellent job in all five subject areas. Of the five 2002 GED books I use in my classroom, this is clearly the best. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great!
This was the only study guide I had. I went through page by page in two weeks and passed the GED no sweat.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Preparation for GED 2002
This book prepares a student to take the new GED test in a focused manner. The pre-test provides an excellent prescription of they student's strengths and weaknesses. Best one volume preparation book on the market.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not Totally New
This book should prepare one for the NEW GED, but the book itself is NOT totally new. The greatest changes are in the areas of math and writing, but even these pages are largely a repeat of Steck-Vaughn's old book aimed at preparing one for the l988 edition of the GED.Most of the publisher's hype about the book are unfounded. It, for example, is clearly not the biggest GED book available, despite that claim on the cover. And it most certainly is NOT the best. If you buy individual study guides for each subject, then you don't need this book. It is just a condensed reprint of the others.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not awful, but not great either
I used primarily the math section in this book and found it to be very frustrating. Many lessons are not in the proper order, and many lessons are not necessary for passing the GED. I often would be completely confused by the lessons until I went further into the book and found the instructions I had needed ten pages back. This book might work OK for somebody who is studying in a class, but for independent study this book gets a fairly poor review from me.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Data
We are using "Complete GED Perparation" in our free GED preparation classes because they are easy to use as a text book. 1. The introductory exams are not too long and give the information on the needs of each student. 2. Answers to the intro exams are given with explanation that will help the student. Normally no more explanations are needed. 3. If more information is needed, the text for each subject is easy to understand. 4. A sample exam is toward the back of the book that will allow the student to practice on an exam that will simulate the real thing. >All in all, I cannot conceive a better arranged or more concise source for GED preparation. ... Generally, this was a great book. Each section was elaborate, and provided several questions of which you can assess your knowledge. Along with a couple of Math B regents exams, this book provides a solid base for someone to build upon. Up until now, the Math B course really is not even in exitence in most areas, but for projects of higher math, such as a math paper, this book gives you everything you need for Seq. 2ac to Seq.3...Of course, you have the applications etcetra, which this book combines with the solid algebra 2. 5-0 out of 5 stars Very Good for Practice
If you buy this book, make sure you get another review book. This bok is good for one thing, review for the actaul test. You should savfe this and take thetests in it about a week before you will take the actual regents. It has real past regents, and it explains the answers, but it will not have too much of an effect on your regents grade. It has more of a use as an indicator of how well you will do on the actual regents.

5-0 out of 5 stars Time to hit the books!
This book is good because it gives you many example problems that really were on the Regents and many of the problems appear again and again just with different numbers. It was very helpful and after doing all the problems and self-correcting myslef and then see why I got the answers wrong (or even right) by the explanation section, it was worth the time and money to get this book. It is a tool that will help you get through your studing in a great way.

5-0 out of 5 stars This book is a great studying tool
Barron's Regents Exams and Answers : Earth Science is one of the most valuable tools in studying for the New York state regents exam in Earth Science. It has many of the past regents to practice from, answers explained, and tips for when you take the regents. In the answers explained section it will tell you why the answer is right and even why other answers are wrong! I got a 95 on the regents with the help of this book. If you are taking Earth Science I would highly recommend that you get this book. ... Read more

It has taken me no time, to do what I had to do. This is the ultimate GED preparation book and CD-ROM. You will love how easy they make it all, and the CD-Rom has practice test. You will not go wrong here. I NOW HAVE MY GED!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Book Serise
While taking courses to earn my graduate degree in history, I am an adult literacy instructor at a local community college.I teach the basic level course for students who wish to earn their GED.Besides the plethora of texts that my institution provides me, I recommended this book highly to all my students.

After reviewing a copy, it was obvious that Barron's GED book is commensurate in quality with the books in the rest of their test prep series.I have already reviewed the Barron's GRE, PPST, SAT, and PRAXIS test books, of which are all superb books for preparing a student for their respective test. Therefore, I expected nothing less than the best from the GED test prep book.Needless to say, it delivered.

This book is the best book in its topic. The diagnosis test at the beginning of the book provides an accurate detail of where each respective student needs the most academic attention, and the examples throughout the book do a great job at developing the students' weaker areas. The practice tests are very helpful, and the CD-ROM is a great resource for students that have the means of a computer.

However, the CD-ROM is the weakest part of this book.It is useful when it works, and it a great supplement to the book itself, but by no means is it a replacement for the book.Furthermore, this book is not a replacement for a good GED class, nor is it something that I recommend students attempt without consulting a teacher, or taking a class.

My students use this book as a homework source, and supplement to my class. It is a great tool for teachers of GED and Adult Literacy classes to consult for possible course lessons and is an excellent source of information for students in a GED program.A great book to say the least!!! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars A MUST BUY!!!
I am a striaght A student, and took earth science in 8th grade. I just didnt understand it. I had an 84 average teh 1st quarter. I bought this book and i had an A every other quarter, and I got a 95 on the regents. It is a great book with many questions that are similar to ones you will see on the real regents. It has many diagrams and even areal past exam. It's a very good, must buy tool.

5-0 out of 5 stars WOW! TEST SCORES ARE UP^^!!!
Wow!! I am in 8th grade and taking the High School Regent Earth Science course, and before I bought this book I was getting 50s and 60s on tests (my quarter average was a 84) and after I did the review questions in each chapter I havn't gotten anything below a 85 (now my average is a 94)!! This made my average go up 10 points, and if it can work for me, it can definitely work for you. My mom said it was the best money she ever spent, and I also bought the Barron's Regents Earth Science Exams and Answers book, but unfortunately it was a "little" overused and I can't read anything in it.. O WELL THIS REALLY HELPS! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! it even has a full exam in the back and a vocab section that shows vocab words to know for the test, it's really good!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent!
If you've been having trouble understanding the in-depth details of Earth Science and even just regular science, this book is for the new expert. It gives you plenty of details of every topic that you've learned in this course, and gives you many regents questions to study from (for the power pack).

You'll be amazed, just like I was. The book contains a lot of pictures/diagrams/etc. describing what you are learning about to help you comprehend better what you've just sighted out in the units. One thing I appreciated is that if by any chance, if you didn't understand the topic you were learning about, just go back in the index and it will show a secondary page number or a page where it shows more analysis of the particular topic you're studying.

Even though the Regents won't give you the exact same questions from an old exam on a new exam, it is still a very crucial part in studying old Regents questions. GUARENTEED: It will create more skills as a whole in terms of understanding the questions and answers; primarily eliminating answers that you cannot recognize or ones that don't make any sence, and keeping the one answer that makes the most logic or sence... This is a BIG help in trying to get a good grade on your exam. If you get the Regents questions book, you will be provided with answers to all questions, and it can really make you realize why that answer is the way it should be. It'll create more facts in your head.

One thing is for sure, is that you can't miss this book. My point of view is that you should review throughly throughout this book, and review as many questions as you can. I did this, and I received an 86 percent for my average on the regents, and you can even do better that I can!

NOTE: Order this book right when school starts or sooner, so you can be prepared.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Book, which is a great subsitute to the old and....
Listen, this book is mad good. I took the Earth Science Regents in 8th Grade in June 2001, and all of the material was covered by this book. The day before I took the test, I was cramming out of this book. Even though I was getting 95s in science, the material did not make sense. But everyday in May, I studied with another version of this book, and it helped refresh my memory of Earth Science. With this book, it helped me comphrend and ace the regents with flying colors. I was able to get a 88 in the regents exam from this book. I highly recommend this book to everyone that is going to take the Earth Science Regents in New York State. For the difficult comprehender, it will help build connections to topics that will help you pass the regents, and for the forgetful type, it will refresh your memory. Take my word for it, and buy it. Its worth the price it is. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for practicing for the regents
This book was a really great addition to my studying for the Math A regents. The book is just past regents, so it's the same exact type of questions you would get on the actual regents. It also helps to explain the answers. The only thing I would say negatively is that we received green books for two dollars in class that had all the regents in them, but not the answers or the answers explained. So if you're going to get the green books in class and your class is going over the answers, it may not be worth it. I still found it helpful to go over things on my own, and I would definitely recommend getting this book. I passed the Math A regents in January 2003 with a 90.

5-0 out of 5 stars math test prep
Just make sure that you get the right (latest ) addition. This one (april 2001) is NOT the latest.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great review source, close to perfection!
I felt this study guide was a great addition to my library of books. It not only helped my nephew study for his Math A test, it helped him with his studies during class. This is an excellent review guide that falls just short of perfection. Some of the explanations were not thorough and tough to understand. This is the only flaw. And mind you this is only on a FEW of the explanations, not all. I would highly reccomend this book to anyone who is planning on taking the Math A exam or if you just need help understanding whats going on in class! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Helps for the SAT II World HIstory
There aren't too many books published to help specifically for the SAT II W. Hist. So before I took that exam I bought this book for some practice problems, and it did help. I scored a 710 although I it had been 2 years since I took W.Hist. If you also plan to buy the Barron's How to...World History, read the review section, which is pretty good, but don't let their exam questions tarnish your perceptions. The questions intensified popular misconceptions and what not. That's why you would want this book for practice questions. Ironic: same publishers, two different recommendations.

4-0 out of 5 stars It was a great help
This book really gave me good practice for the regents ... Read more
