is this useful for AP chem?
this text book was provided by my school to use throughout the year in ap chem. although the step-by-step worked problems in each chapter's text were sometimes helpful, they tended to make things too complicated. when i missed a lecture and tried to complete my homework solely from the book,i found myself working problems in a completely different manner from my instructor- whose methods tended to be much faster and easier to use. in addition, i didn't see any information on solutions with mulitple solutes in the book, and unfortunately that was a major topic on the free response questions this year.

An excellent, straightforward approach to chemistry
Ignore the 2 star review above. The book is perfect for anyone preparing for the AP chemistry exam, and even for those who just want an in depth understanding of it. As far as there being a "corrected version of the book": LMAO. Give me a break, books are updated but rarely corrected. They are put together by reliable scholars who major in the field, I don't see any errors in the book. A student trying to compete with several scientists is just dumb, they obviously don't have the common intellect to understand the book. I'm sorry, but that review just shocked me because of it's inaccuracy. The book is wonderful and I reccommend it to all. :)

Errors are bad and this book is full of them...
As an AP level high school student, my class is using this book to prepare for our AP exam. As we go through the book it has its pros and cons, with most of the cons being the errors in the text!! Our class has a mixture of editions, some "printed with corrections" others not, and we find errors even in the editions that are supposedly corrected, many of them ones that my classmates and I notice even before we have gone through the chapter with our teacher. While it does cover the necessary topics for success in chemistry, the errors within the text are a major discredit to the rest of the information. The public doesn't listen to politicians who are wrong, why should textbooks be treated diffrently?

the best introductory chem book out there. i used it for my ap chem test, and the book was so easy to understand. i didn't pay attention in class and was able to get a 98 average, although the class average was much lower (80s).

I checked several chemestry text books at university and found this one to be the most thorough and clear of all.

Picky Book buyer loves it!!
I felt that this was the most complete and EASY to use Lab book for nursing students, such as I. It even suggests what abnormals can mean clinically.

Simply the best
Honestly, I don't give many books 5 stars, nor do I give many glowing reviews, but Mosby really did an outstanding job putting this book together. The format is friendly, the data is accurate, and the tests are all relevant in hospital or clinical settings. Great book and an invaluable reference for nurses and laboratorians alike!

This is a reference we use on our psych unit because it provides information in a quick and easy-to-use format for nurses who do not deal with medical issues on a regular basis. It has logical cross references and recommendations for further investigation.

A MUST own!
I'm a 6th year medical student and I was looking for a book that could give me a quick, easy, yet complete method of evaluating laboratory exams right on the spot. With this book I got that and much, much more. Right from the book's size and weight to the complete and easy to read information, this book is done just right (it even comes with a waterproof cover to prevent the book from being easily damaged). It includes basic stuff like blood test and urinalysis to more advanced stuff including arthroscopy and mediastinoscopy. The book has it all. For each entry you get: type of test, normal findings (includes values), test explanation and related physiology, interfering factors, procedure and patient care, abnormal findings (lists the diseases that must be suspected); and in the cases that apply gives contraindications, and home care considerations. It has your basic index, plus a list of tests by type (eg. urine tests) and another list of tests by body system (eg. nervous system). great book
I have found this book very valuable. I am a medical student and my Spanish is intermediate. I can communicate well on a conversational level, but medical terms are a whole different story. This book is excellent. Not only do I use it to look up the proper medical terms, but it also provides examples of more common terms used to describe conditions that are easier for patients to understand. What has been very helpful is a systems-based guide to interview questions. For example it provides you with a list of common questions you would ask a patient who complains of abdominal pain. It also provides a concise review of verb tenses and noun declension. My copy of this book is very well loved. It has seen me through four years of employment in the ER and four years of medical school. Perhaps the mentally challenged reviewers who gave this book poor reviews should learn to read before attempting to learn a different language :)

Best Medical Spanish Dictionary I've Used
In the past 10 years, as a medical interpreter and health care professional, I've tried at least half a dozen medical Spanish dictionaries and this is by far the best, most accurate, and most comprehensive. It has much more of the technical vocabulary one would use in conversation with other health care providers than any other, yet still has the words that patients understand. I highly recommend it, though it may be a bit overwhelming for beginners -- it's not as useful as a "quick reference" for someone who doesn't speak a lot of Spanish.

Say what?!
I have to wonder which book the negative reviewers are reviewing.

As to the complaint that there is no pronunciation guide to English or Spanish, for example, the first page of the Spanish side starts with a description of the Spanish alphabet followed by a pronunciation guide to Spanish; corresponding features appear on the very first page of the English side, too.

I am a professional Spanish translator, and I refer to this book for specialized medical terms when I translate. I also make use of the abbreviation conversion table (which, unfortunately, is alphabetized only in English alphabetical order, making it hard to go from a Spanish abbreviation to an English one), and the helpful conversion tables for roots, prefixes, and suffixes.

The main fault with this book is that there could be more. If you are looking for diseases, conditions, or symptoms, or even sample examination interview questions (organized by topic in an appendix), it's great! But if you are looking for the translations for medicines, you can pretty much forget about finding them (acetaminophen? amoxicillin? pseudoephedrine? hardly uncommon medicines, but not in here), but perhaps that is a subject worthy of its own separate volume. Still, if you are wanting help talking to your Spanish-speaking patients about their illnesses, conditions, and treatments--and assuming that you have no reason to use the Spanish words for the medicines anyway--this is an excellent resource to buy, to get familiar with, and to have on hand. I always recommend it to any doctor, nurse, or paramedic who asks me for a good Spanish medical reference.

Not for Translators
The contents of the dictionary are very inadequate for translators who need to know the English term for the Spanish one and only serves as a mediocre tool for Health Care Professionals who want to learn a few Spanish words here and there. It is not at all comprehensive. I give it one star because the design of the book cover is attractive.

A must have for anybody in the science or engineering field
It's well worth every penny!

Textbook that is actually interesting
I give about a dozen technical presentations a year at trade shows, and I learned a lot from this book. I am changing my Powerpoint slides using many of the tips in this book, including complete sentence in the headline. I had designed my slides to help me remember my points. I should have been designing them so the audience could understand them. Besides giving me a better understanding of what I am trying to accomplish, the book was a fun read with numerous stories from the famous and not so famous. There were times it was actually hard to put the book down.

a great book that kept my interest
This is the first of Michael Alley's books that I have read and I'm ordering his other two "The Craft Of..." books tonight. He is terrific at getting technical information across in an engaging and entertaining way. The book is full of short stories about scientists (some famous, like Einstein, Feynman and McClintock) and incidents, which he uses as examples to get his points across. Great atlas for histology
I found this book to be a great resource for my medical histology class. The pictures helped me to remember key concepts for on my histology lab. The difference between squamous and transitional epithelium can really only be appreciated with the help of this atlas since it is harder to describe it in words. The Bible
This book is the bible of basic medical science. It incorporates everything you need to know into a concise, systems-based format. It is easy to read, and is great to use as you go through the systems in your first two years. Don't wait until board prep to buy this book! Use it all along to see what information is truly "high-yield".

A better review than First Aid
The great advantage of this book is the system-based approach. First Aid is merely a list of facts to memorize out of context, which will not help you on the vignettes in the actual test. Step up reviews the anatomy, embryology, physio, and path of each major system -- which will help you to see the big picture and be able to take a unified approach to each boards question instead of trying to remember individual pearls. It does, however, lack a great review in terms of Biochem, Behavioral Science, and Pharm, so I would supplement with the High Yield series.

Nice diagrams & layout but....Be careful!
Since i'm a relatively old IMG I was delighted when I discovered this book, so I bought it and I personally used it for my step 1 preparation, FORTUNATELY I discovered it late.....since if I'd have trusted just in this book (I mean without First Aid)..I'd have failed....so b VERY careful....if u use this book for specific clinical situations (their tables in anemia, different cancer types etc) its great...but eventhough u will need first aid as a guide for the remainder. In my exam physiology and pharmacology were heavily tested and these guys almost forgot these subjects, on the other hand their pathology is excellent. Their pharmacology is quite poor, they ignored mechanisms of action of the different drugs (quite HY in USMLE). So if u use this book being aware of these problems and especially as a quick review only before the exam it should be OK.

High Yield
I used this book in addition to the Kaplan series. I felt this was ideal in the week prior to the exam, and was superior to first aid. There are several mistakes in the text, but between this text and kaplan I crushed the exam. I would not recommend this text to anyone who is weak in pharmacology!

Too many mistakes
While this book actually does represent a major step up
in terms of detail compared to the "Gold Standard" First Aid for Usmle, the current print seems little premature to me (even though it states to be a "Revised Reprint", since I could find a substantial number of significant mistakes while just going through it ONCE. Since I am not really an expert, I would bet
that someone with a more thorough background knowledge in Pathology, Biochemistry and Behavioral Sciences for example

would find countless more mistakes than I did.

Generally I would recommend this book only to people, who are VERY advanced in their studies for the Step 1, so that they can be sure to filter out these substantial mistakes and do not attempt to memorize wrong stuff. But then again : why would you buy a review book, if you knew already everything so perfectly that you could immediately recognize these mistakes ?

Good book on the basics
This book comes in between Wilmott and the more technical books.
And its by no means complete, if you want a more comprehensive treatment you may want to buy wilmott.
And if you need something more technical you should
get the book by Oskendal and/or Nielsen.

If you want to get an inexpensive book then go for this.

An outstanding book in a crowded field
In recent years bookshelves (and readers) have groaned under the weight of new First Courses in Mathematical Finance. There is, of course, a huge overlap in content and it is no easy task to write a book which is both better than its predecessors and genuinely novel. In both tasks Mark Joshi has succeeded admirably: this book deserves to become the leader in its field.

Finding the right level of mathematical sophistication is a difficult balancing act in which it is impossible to please all readers. Here, the author has had a clear vision that the principal audience is the practising or potential quantitative analyst (or quant) and writes accordingly; it is impossible to do better than taking an approach of this sort. Such a quant must have a certain minimum level of mathematical background (a good degree in a numerate discipline). By definition, this has to be assumed for a decent understanding of the material, but the author always has an eye on what a quant really needs to know. Integrated into this mathematical work is a good deal of information about how markets, banks and other corporations operate in practice, not found in more academically-oriented books.

The first half of the book includes the core material found in any decent first course on the subject including basic stochastic calculus, pricing of European options through discounted expectation under a risk-neutral measure, the Black-Scholes differential equation and so forth. Where this book really stands out, however, is the exceptional clarity with which the key concepts are separated. Not only are three different ways for deriving the Black-Scholes formula presented (through PDEs, expectation, and the limit of discrete tree-models) ; much more significantly, the different roles played by hedging, replication and equivalent martingale measures in enforcing a price are made crystal clear. In whatever way you already think about this material, you will almost certainly come away with something new from reading this treatment. In my case, for example, I gained a much greater understanding of why "risk-neutral" pricing is so called.

The second half of the book, roughly speaking, covers a selection of more sophisticated material. The major areas covered include interest-rate derivatives and models; and more complicated models for stock price evolution (such as stochastic-volatility, jump-diffusion and variance-gamma) that have been proposed to correct inadequacies in the Black-Scholes model such as its failure to explain market smiles. Once the core ideas have been so thoroughly explained in the first half, a great deal of interesting and diverse material can be covered rapidly yet with a great deal of clarity and coherence, relating the new models to core ideas such as uniqueness of prices and hedging issues.

Those with quantitative finance experience are still likely to find a good deal that is new and worthwhile in this book. And if you a thinking about becoming a quant, I cannot think of a better book to read first.

Most comprehensive
This is the most comprehensive and up to date textbook on quantitative finance that I have seen so far. Joshi is an excellent mathematician and an excellent quant. He knows finance like the back of his hand, and explains it very well.

A must read for anyone interested in mathematical finance
The modern paradigm within mathematical finance is the use of martingale
methods for the pricing of options; an understanding of it is
critcal not only to quants who use these mathematical tools on a day
to day basis, but also to risk professionals in general when understanding the
risks inherent in a new product. At present, however,
there are very few accessible texts that discuss this at a level that
is suitable for the (sizeable) interested audience; texts either do not
have adequate coverage of the martingale methodology, concentrating on the
older less insightful pde methods, or concentrate (too much in the
reviewers opinion) on mathematical rigour and
require a substantial understanding
of probability theory before one is able to understand and appreciate
the finance.

Mark Joshi's book fills this niche admirably: it is mathematically rigorous
where it needs to be, but more importantly "physically" insightful --- the
author takes considerable pain in assisting the reader in developing
an intuition both for the models used and the products that are
priced. However, the mathematics is all there; more importantly
for the finance professional there are details on how to implement the
various models described. Again in marked contrast to other texts available
the book includes a number of relevant exercises (with solutions) and
computer projects --- features which this reviewer welcomes.
The book is also to be applauded on the fact that
it does not end after a discussion of the Black Scholes stock case ! Instead
the second half of the book discusses, admittedly assuming a slightly higher
level of mathematical sophistication (but never beyond, what one would
expect of a good physical sciences/mathematics graduate), multiasset options,
the LIBOR market model, stochastic volatility and jump diffusion models.
This again is a key strength of the text, rendering these subjects far
more accessible to a wider audience.

In short this is a book which anyone who is interested in mathematical
finance should have on their book shelf. ... Read more

Pathophysiology Made EASIER!
The title is a lie. I don't think pathophysiology could ever be incredibly easy, and if it could be this book falls short of the mark. But for the sake of this review, I'm going to lower the mark. Pathophysiology will always require hard work to master, but oftentimes mastery is hindered by the presentation of information. It is in the presentation of pertinent information that Pathophysiology Made Incredibly Easy! excels.
The book contains 13 chapters. Each one focuses on a body system and the disorders affecting that system with additional chapters affecting systemic problems and issues like genetics, immunological disorders, infections, and cancer. The book cannot be and is not exhaustive, but that is not its purpose. The book covers the most often seen and most often discussed diseases. Each, for the most part, is presented in an easy-to-digest manner. Rather than use paragraphs, bullet points, summary graphics, and short sentences highlight the pertinent information. Finally the disease sections end with summaries of the test results that would indicate a particluar malady along with the current common treatments of that disease. There are also many case studies provided to reinforce learning in a practical way.
On the downside, I felt that the some of the cartoons were distracting and irreverent, especially in the context of some of the diseases being discussed. I understand the desire to make learning the diseases fun, but personally I think that irreverence to disease and the diseased may tend to make for unsympathetic care givers. Nevertheless, the book is useful for students of pathophysiology, especially those being exposed to the field for the first time. ... Read more

Excellent for Physicist
We recently purchased this book and I find it extremely well written and useful. I would call it super for a physicist doing medical imaging research. The book reads like a reference text for a researcher. There are no cartoons or homework problems. The second edition is very up to date. The book could use some references to advanced information sources as it is a bit short on physics/mathematics details.

suitable for teaching medical physicist wannabes now
I currently own the first edition of this book, and after flipping throug this new expanded 2nd edition, I'll be upgrading soon. The first book is an excellent text to use for teaching radiology residents the principles of medical imaging. Now, this second edition with greatly expanded content and pictures looks like it would be suitable for teaching a course to medical physics students. All sections appear to be significantly expanded with the additional detail needed for medical physicists. Still excellent for residents, but might go into a little more detail than they need.

Kudos for an excellent textbook.
Opening the pages to this textbook is like stepping into a classroom. These authors obviously are not only experts in their respective subspecialties of medical physics, but they are also seasoned teachers of the art and science of this field of medicine. This is easily evidenced by the clarity of thought and completeness with which they treat each topic in this comprehensive, easily readable textbook. I highly recommend this textbook to all who have a need for such a clear, concise teaching of the many aspects of medical physics covered in this work.

Essential Physics Review
This text book is the most up to date and comprehensive text book available for radiology residents preparing for the ABR exam as of this date 3/12/2002. I have recommended this text for my most serious students and they have done quite well on the ABR exam. ( Most have scored in the > 90th percentile in the U.S.) For residents who want to just pass the exam, I recommend Sprawls text.

Great Book!
This book has a bit of everything I was looking for. techniques, lots of color renderings to review, shadowing techniques, etc. I am currently an interior design student and am using the book to help me with my color rendering and presentation techniques. In fact, my instructor reviewed the book and has requested the book be the textbook for the presentations class in our department next semester. This is the best book I've located so far.

Great resource for ID students
I just received this book and I wished I had had it for my first in-class presentation. I gives the reader "fresh" ideas and helpful information on organizing your boards. I would recommend this book to any Interior Design student.

just the book for beginning intr design students to use thru out their schooling. it covers everything they need to do all the presentations for thier courses. from drawing to models and most useful those sample boards. it tells you what tools to buy (with photos to help) and as basic as how to cut foam core. it has color step by step examples for color rendering. all in the same book is such a good value to the students

The standard for teaching EBM
As a physician-teacher of EBM to internal medicine residents, this is the best book I've run across for this purpose. We utilize the reader's guides, first published in the Canadian Medical Association Journal and later in JAMA, written by Guyatt, Sackett, and others, which are perfectly complemented by this volume. I recommend it to all of the residents and have purchased multiple copies for house staff use (although I can't seem to keep them on the shelf...) It makes learning EBM fun and highlights its usefulness and, most importantly for busy physicians, speed. Worth reading for every physician interested in practicing medicine based on only the best evidence.

Concise and precise
Concise and precise- just what the busy clinician wants to see. And for whoever needs more info, there is an extra CD Rom that preovides just that. Few medical books had more impact on my professional behavior than this one. Buy it, read it, and follow its advise!

Not bad, not bad at all.
Dr. Sackett's book is a well thought out review of evidence-based medicine (EBM), and is the source of what seems to be the most often noted definition of EBM. This is a must-have reference for those interested in evidence-based action (which applies to much more than just medicine). However, according to Sackett's own definition, this edition is getting a little long in the tooth. He also follows a pretty classical approach to the logic of rational decision making, which may or may not suit the reader.

Smashing!
Short and concise, this book really excels at demystifying EBM and making it easier (and more importantly, fun!). The use of flash cards for summarising points is great, and it's clear that the authors are enjoying themselves teaching EBM. This honestly is the first medical book that I'd classify as 'un-putdownable'!

Fine Primer
This well done book is partly an introduction to teaching/practicing Evidence Based Medicine (EBM)and partly an act of evangelism. The authors are concerned not only with describing the basic methods of EBM but also with convincing readers that this is the appropriate way to practice and teach clinical medicine. EBM and its precursor movements are based on the correct realization that physicians tend not to be very critical about clinical practice, much of which is learned by emulation. This book builds on an existing movement and the presence of widely available online resources to tap into appropriate critical evaluations of clinical practice. In doing so, the authors attempt to educate physicians about how to use these resources, relatively simple statistical tools that can be incorporated into application of good clinical literature to practice, and how to teach these methods. Because the authors are academics who wish to influence medical education, there is a good deal of emphasis on educational methods. While this may be an apparent short coming for readers who are not academics, it is actually worthwhile for all physicians because self-education is a constant part of our job. This book is very well done with some nice features. It is small and has a durable plastic cover, designed to carried in pockets or in a medical bag, there is a small CD with good examples, and a set of plasticized flash cards on major key points. Drawbacks are relatively minor. More information on how to analyze clinical trials and studies would be useful but in a concise book, something has to give way. Essential reading from a wise author for do-it-yourself'ers
Don't sell yourself or family short, get this or another comparable book if you are going to tackle electrical work in your home.

This book is somewhat technical and that may put some folks off. However, it is only as technical as is needed to provide for safe installation of electrical wiring in the home. I appreciate the code references, as a do-it-yourself'er it is important to understand why it is done as it is, because no home project is ever an exact copy of problem in a book. This book is an essential part of a do-it-yourself'ers library, especially if you are going to take on any substantial projects.

Used 1993, 1996, and 1999 versions of this book.
I have wired four new homes and remodeled one using the concepts in this book. The homes ranged from 3200 to 5000 square feet in size. The 5000 sq/ft house used 400 amp service for the main panels. I am a do it yourself homeowner. I am a firmware engineer by trade so I don't wire for a living. This book was magnificent in helping me understand how to put the entire picture together for a large complicated home. These homes included security systems, phone systems, home audio systems, internet wiring, and of course power and lighting everywhere that I needed it. I learned so much from this book and the way that it walks through each room in the house. I recommend following it all of the way through on your own house plans. What it lacks I was able to find by looking at homes being constructed in the area. Things like how high up do I put the outlets and switches comes to mind. The code changes every three years and so does this book. I got most of my knowledge from the 1993 book. I used the 1996 and 1999 books on the later homes but the basics were already there. All code changes are very well covered in the latest edition and nothing is dropped from edition to edition that I know of. I am very impressed with Mullin's style and thought that I could show some of my gratitude back for the help that he gave me to do this over and over again. I have recommended this book to many friends who have also wired their own homes. If I needed to I would buy it again but I have decided to live in one of my houses for a while. What I believe this book has that others do not is a grasp of the whole picture. I was able to do the entire project each time with this book. I installed the service conductors from the transformer to the house. I built up the main breaker panels and subpanels. I performed the load calculations to make sure that all circuits were properly balanced. I don't think that many of the other wiring books cover all of these things. You can perform the entire wiring of your residential home by yourself with the knowledge that you can glean from this book and a few questions asked of your local inspectors and examining the work of electricians wiring in your area. Make sure that you follow the code and not the local electricians though because I do not know how some of them pass inspections with some of the work that they do. Good luck on your project.

The best I have tried.
This book is my electrical bible. I tried several books before I found this one. I bought it when I was trying to rewire an old house. The first 2 books I bought left me dazed and confused. I finally spent an afternoon in the bookstore browsing through every electrical book I could find until I ran across this. What a find. It not only explains clearly what has to be done, but why. The book makes good use of tables to summarize information and excellent use of diagrams. It not only teaches you to wire correctly, but teaches you the code as well. Highly recommended.

If you don't know what a wirenut is, this may not be the book for you as it assumes some level of knowhow on the part of the reader. Otherwise, this is likely to be the last residential wiring book you will ever buy.

Dunwoody uses it -- you should too
I went to Dunwoody Institute, and their electrical department uses this as a textbook for future electricians. The biggest downside is it doesn't cover some of the low voltage/HVAC in the depth that it does everything else. It has constant code references, but it also explains things plainly enough that most people can understand them. It is a little expensive, but I would definately recomend it.

comprehensive, yet easy to understand
This is a highly detailed book that clearly describes how to wire a home that meets 2002 National Electrical code requirements. The book is nicely organized and contains a wealth of information on how to select proper wire and box sizes, locations for recepticles, lighting requirements, etc. However, it is not a "how to" book-it won't tell you how to fish a wire or change a circuit breaker. I used this book to completely rewire my 1950's kitchen and it took all the guesswork out of the project. Now every time I start an electrical project, I consult this book to make sure I do it correctly. Still the best Civil Handbook
The fifth edition update mainly reflects changes in code requirements for structural engineering. Other sections seem barely changed from the fourth edition. The water resources chapter has several misprinted tables. Use the corresponding tables out of the fourth edition.

Generalle well-written and easy to follow. Useful as a supplemental study reference for the Civil PE Exam.

Could use a good bibliography.

Great Review/Reference Book
I'm a senior in CE this year and I have been using the 2nd edition of this book (1976) more or less daily as I work on my senior design projects. Not really in depth on any one subject, but its great if you just need to look up a formula or technique that you forgot from some class. I plan to ask for the new edition as a graduation present.

A civil engineer's review - this book is a good buy
The Standard Handbook for Civil Engineers is a comprehensive single volume book. This book is divided into 23 sections covering entire gamut of civil engineering. In first few chapters it deals with design management, specifications etc. These chapters are quite informative. It also describes various construction materials in a lucid form. But the chapter on structural theory should have more elaborately presented. Many aspects of advanced structures such as plate, shell etc. are not discussed. Finite element method is almost untouched. This book does not contain too many numerical examples. Rather it tells you how to take decision. For example, it tells you how to choose structural system for multistory building, but does not tell how to analyze the same. Geo-technical engineering section is also little bit concise. Concrete design section is good but a number of worked out problems would have made it better. Same goes for steel design section. Surveying was featured in very lackadaisically. Building engineering section is well written with very good general descriptions. Transportation, water resource and environment parts are also well covered. Coastal engineering is just touched. In overall this book is a good buy. But this book won't be much useful to all because it is written only in American code. A good place to find descriptions of genuinely obscure drugs
This book contains references to some drugs that I couldn't find anywhere else.Drugs that are no longer in common use, that are used exclusively outside the US, or that have toxicity levels that are normally unacceptable may still find a listing in Martindale.The index is very thorough.I had only two complaints: 1) I don't understand why some drugs information is dropped when new editions come out --I would rather see the book simply grow, rather than sometimes requiring access to older editions, and 2) it doesn't present molecular structures (sigh).Still, the opportunity to find information that is otherwise simply unavailable (try to find dosing schedules for potassium bromide elsewhere, to pick an example) outweighs any complaints.
