What I want to say is that my own findings, that the crop circles are made by spiritually inspired humans, coincide strongly with Dr. Hein's -- and indeed that his ideas have greatly extended my own thinking. The fact is that what is flattening the crops is NOT where the mystery lies. There are SO many other unanswered questions, from the balls of light that have been seen by hundreds of people in the vicinity of crop circles (and close up by people making crop circles!), to what I call the "telepathic connection," as well as many other bewildering things which are covered in Opening Minds. I recommend the book as by far the most realistic AND enlightening on the subject of the circles I have ever seen. Dr. Hein's discussion of UFOs and remote viewing, etc., are equally insightful. --Peter Sorensen ... Read more

While it's a decent introduction to the field, though, Confirmation is definitely not Strieber at his best. What Strieber really has to offer is his own close encounter experiences, documented in Communion and its sequels, and the thousands of letters he has received from other close encounter witnesses, many of which are published in The Communion Letters. But when it comes to a general overview of UFO sightings, implants, etc., he has no particular credentials. The result is that Confirmation is mostly a rehash of evidence published elsewhere. Strieber is a storyteller, not a scientist, and is probably better off sticking to fiction and autobiography and leaving the "hard evidence" to professional UFO researchers.
I dont always agree with Whitley's belief's on the "visitors" intent, but the man has to be respected for going out to the edge. I dont think I'd pay too much attention to William Harwood's review, it's little more than his immaturity and ego blown self promotion, that leads him to plug his own book at the end of a review. I dont know whether to laugh or cry at his obvious self importance. I digress, Confirmation is well worth the read, as Mr. Strieber is truthfully to me, the only one out there that can put words to an indescribable set of events that impact so many. If you want a deep personal look into the subject, past the "are they real?" ... littered throughout ufology literature...this is for you. Congratulations Whitley...yet another fabulous read.

As for the information, it may be in there, but good luck assimilating it; it is in such disorder that about all you can glean are random facts that you've probably heard before. The author may be an effective and dedicated UFO researcher, but you'd never know it by this book.
"Alien Conspiracy" is a Limited Edition, Vols. 1 & 2, and nearly 300 pages. Since it clearly states on the title page, "Limited Researcher's Edition," one shouldn't expect it to be an over-night read. A researcher's edition is normally packed full of details and commentary not usually found in later editions and revisions. The author merges classic ufology, alien abduction, and the correlations of ancient writings, into one book (so it's like getting 3 books in 1), with references and cross references in the index (invaluable for researchers, and those keeping a score card). I was amazed at the volume of detail, and hard work that had to go into it! I was not the least bit disappointed with the way the author ties it all together, nor with his style of commentary, and neither were my two friends, who read it before I did, and who highly recommended it to me. I consider myself an avid reader and, like alot of people, I have read several books on UFO's and aliens over the years. I've read Vallee, Hynek, Hopkins, Jacobs, Hall, Karla Turner, Leah Hailey, Von Doniken, etc., etc., and IMO this book by Chris Evans truly deserves its rightful space with the best of them. I literally found myself rivited from beginning to end, and even after reading all of the other books prior, I learned something new. I was always suspicious of the Maury Island Affair, and now I know why. I had heard of Frank Scully but didn't know where he fit in to it all, and now I do. I was always curious of the brief references to ancient writings, and strange characters mentioned in the Bible, and now I have a better understanding of who they may have been talking about. I found the account of experiencer Andrea Roberts quite interesting too, as well as a little disturbing. How many other people like Andrea are out there? Those who may have even told their story to an abduction researcher, but it got "filed" because it didn't fit with the standard M.O. we've come to expect thanks to pop culture, and all of those near identical accounts retrieved through regressive hypnosis. When people think of alien's now, they automatically think Grey or Reptilian. But, Andrea's story is not about either one. Is that why that one reviewer below called her case suspect? Doyle called her story a filler, so he/she must not have gotten it either. Like it or not, alien's, UFO's, and the paranormal, appear to go hand in hand, and if we're ever going to get close to an answer, all of it has to be considered as a whole, which the author does quite well in this book. No, IMO this book positively does not deserve a bad review! I don't hesitate to recommend Alien Conspiracy, and I'm eagerly awaiting the next book by Chris Evans!
Still it was an overall decent read despite the author's abuse of the phrase "double-entendre." He seems to be a capable researcher so I'll likely read his next one. Interestingly, the book arrived apparently signed by the author. That's a first.

Book Description This book will answer many questions regarding just what those couples saw outside the abandoned North Power Plant that night. Culled from a variety of sources, the materials presented inside are not conjecture--the authors are careful not to cross the line between fact and fiction--leaving any decisions regarding the truth behind the Mothman legend solely up to the reader. The book features eyewitness reports, previously unpublished information, photographs, newspaper clippings, and more. Reviews (26)
Sergeant and Wamsley's book was filled with enough information to aid in my visit to Point Pleasant and to see the locations described by the eyewitnesses. It also led me to read John Keel's book as well. I highly recommend this book for anyone wanting to get the story first hand from eyewitnesses and from newspaper articles. It's a great starting point for anyone wanting to research the strange happenings in the Point Pleasant area.

This book uses the very material provided by the believers to show the incongruences of their stories. It doesn't try to prove if Roswell's UFO crash happened or not. Mostly, it checks the "evidence" provided and when it gets scrutinized, little remains. In order to do this, the author verifies basic documentation (which, of course, believers didn't look for) to prove some "witnesses" can't be trusted. The author hardly expresses his opinions, he presents information hidden by UFO fanatics and the truth is obvious. A great book, but not a fun one. If you are up to fantasies, don't read this one. Go see some Hollywood movie or read a book that makes up a Roswell case. (By the way, in my opinion aliens may be visiting our planet, but it's got to be proven by serious people)
Korff is not an expert at elegant prose. Yes, his writing style can be irritating. Yes, it takes some of the shine off of this book. But were it really counts--the CONTENT--Korff is spot-on in his analysis and investivation of the Roswell events and the legend that has arisen around them. I'd been a Roswell entusiest for years when I discovered Korff's book. Coming on the heels of the debunking of the infamous "Roswell autopsy," Korff's book was a huge discovery for me. Critical thinking abounds, as does actual *evidence* ... something other Roswell books always tend to lack. There seems to be an organized campaign amongst Roswell believers to discredit Korff. It's a silly, ridiculous attempt to cling to their beliefs. Read this book yourself, then YOU decide which side has more evidence, more arguments, more *meat*.
Kal worked as a senior analyst on the Star Wars program at Livermore California, a center for NASA and the clique. The special interests of the clique represent tens of billions of dollars taxpayers have poured on Star Wars, a cover for preparing politicians to spend huge amount of money to protect earth from these terrible aliens. With the growing multiplication of crop circles and the inability of the clique to burry such visible evidence, the clique is forced to recognize the reality of extra-terrestrial visitors but need to first discredit Roswell, which many regard as a caused accident. Kal has been caught many times lying with facts, dates, locations, testimonials and hard evidence. He is a friend of another bona fide liar, Richard Motzer who denies the reality of the Phoenix spaceship, witness by thousands of people over Arizona on March 1997. Kal is a Johnny come lately to serious UFO analysis and is only interested to stirr emotions from people who desperately hang on to the medieval concept that man is alone in the Universe. If man is not alone, aliens must be more technologically advanced than we are, and what is so special about a crash at Roswell, unless it was a cosmic crime?

The lack of documentation, or outright misuse of it is another bothersome point. For example, in the retelling of Washington's angelic vision, we learn that there are no primary sources for this story, and it was in fact, published in 1880, well after the Civil War, which is important (read the book if you want the whole story). This robs the story of credibility entirely as it is, but the authors refer to this vision as though it were undeniably real for the rest of the book. The same goes for any story that has no real documentation or real support. The authors try to convince you that the paranormal version of the story has to be true, ignoring other, more plausible factors. It seems that they are trying to turn every last creak in the White House into something it probably isn't. Historical accuracy is also a problem. While for the most part, the book is right on, there are a few gross inconsistencies. This robs the book of credibility as well. While I am a believer in the paranormal, and ghost stories fascinate me, as do psychic experiences, even the most die hard believer should know that we have to research and document information for it to have any credibility whatsoever. Just because one believes does not mean that one believes all that they read. I will from now on stick to the Norman/Scott books, which do not try to cram belief down one's throat, but rather, tell the story and the evidence to support it or discredit it.
The first quarter of this book is made up of stories that include premonitions in dreams, curses, prophecies and a UFO or two. There is hardly a ghost to be found and after about fifty pages I almost gave up and put the book down. If you are looking for the ghosts that are hinted at in the title you could just skip the first ninety-seven pages. Then, after trudging through the first unimpressive part of the book, the reader will come to the best part. The second quarter of the book finally deals with ghosts in the White House as well as the ghosts of former Presidents and First Ladies who reside elsewhere. The documentation is a little lacking but there are a few eyewitness accounts and these stories are at the very least interesting. I particularly liked the story of the former Garfield home in Hiram, Ohio as well as the story of Teddy Roosevelt caught on video by tourists at Sagamore Hill. The next section deals with the spiritual beliefs of the Presidents and details various séances held at the White House. This section of course includes the Lincoln White House, and Lincoln becomes the focus for the next quarter of the book. This is an interesting section but is again not very well documented. The final quarter of the book leaps off into silliness. It is almost entirely taken up by Nancy Reagan and her psychic and Hillary Clinton's supposed chats with Eleanor Roosevelt. There is one nice little section near the end of the book that deals with hauntings in the DC area but the stories are brief and again lack any documentation. Finally, in an apparent attempt to kill what little credibility this book has, the authors bring in mediums and converse with the dead Presidents. They even manage to ask JFK about Marilyn Monroe's suicide, which fits in perfectly because these authors buy into every conspiracy theory ever conceived. Basically, I was disappointed with this book. It is a fun read at times but most of the time it is just off the wall and silly. There simply has to be a better book on this subject out there somewhere and I would like to find it. Maybe I should find a medium and ask JFK what he thinks.
In my opinion, both authors respect the paranormal experience and avoid sensationalism. The authors claim to base the book on documents, both declassified secret service and CIA files and through old letters and transcripts. They also write that the White House is the most haunted house in the US. The book includes an extensive bibliography on the paranormal and a listing of presidential haunts by state because birthplaces can also be haunted. Abraham Lincoln is the most documented sighting, especially at the time of FDR and World War II, but a total of 22 (or so) US presidents have been sighted, as well as former first ladies, and a few of the "first children." *Haunting* goes deep into the history of the paranormal experiences of the presidents themselves. For example, George Washington, who never lived in the White House, wrote a friend that he had a "visiting angel" while at Valley Forge telling him he mustn't give up, even under the horrendous conditions. Then the book explores the documented visitation of Washington's spirit to the Union officer Chamberlain during the Battle of Gettysburg, giving the Union officer strategic advice. According to written accounts, Washington also tried to warn Gen. McClellan that if he (McClellan) didn't take action soon, he would be removed from his post. McClellan did nothing and, of course, Lincoln did indeed oust McClellan, replacing him with US Grant. But the best part of the book is about the ghostly activity at the White House through the years, and the First Families who were open to the experience, albeit secretly. I have always been fascinated with the *possibility* of a haunted White House, but this is the first book I have found on the subject. I visited the White House in an era long before 9/11 when you could actually tour the place, and I felt then that it was filled with otherworldly energy. Many of us need concrete documentation of the paranormal experience, and the authors fail to provide us with it in some, but not all, circumstances. A few of us need less concrete proof because what the authors write "rings true" within us somehow. Does that make us more gullible? Perhaps, but all of us believe what we want to believe. I am a "skeptical mystic" and I took what was mine to take from the book and left the rest. I advise other readers to do the same.

But most of all, what I liked best about the book is to see how someone who had learned valuable skills through his psychic training at Montauk could, in turn, use what he learned to help people by teaching them knowledge and techniques to help heal themselves and others using color codes and archetypes (symbols). I am truly inspired by Swerdlow's story from a very non-conventional life-and a particularly difficult one at that-to a life dedicated to using his unusual mental abilities to help others in dealing with recovering from traumatic experiences, mind-control projects, mental illness, physical illnesses or diseases. Swerdlow shows that anyone's life can be turned around to benefit others by using one's past experiences and knowledge, even if they contain an inordinate amount of pain, suffering and struggle. A look at his website tells me exactly how he's continuing to help people right now-and it's almost as unbelievable as the story may seem! So, I learned the unbelievable IS REAL, but then, what's real? Close-minded people locked into their five-sense prison needs something stronger than this book to wake them up to the truth going on or what DOES go on(how about a VERY BIG volcanic eruption or earthquake?) My only criticism is I want to hear more and more! Can you tell I enjoyed this book? Very much so -I read it five times! I highly recommend you expand your mind by reading Swerdlow's one-of-a-kind book MONTAUK: THE ALIEN CONNECTION.
I find it heartening that the author discusses what would seem to be a completely outrageous story to the general public. The author presents what he believes is true, regardless of mainstream acceptance. Furthermore, regardless of the reality of the story, this was an exceedingly entertaining book.
