Opening Minds is about a social scientist's voyage into the world of non-ordinary, multidimensional energy phenomena. The book is both an examination of the limited belief systems intrinsic to existing mechanistic worldviews and an exploration of emerging new paradigms based on subtle-energy sciences.New discoveries in physics, combined with a greater awareness of extraordinary phenomena that surround us, challenge our traditional beliefs in the mechanistic universe of Sir Isaac Newton.Research into remote viewing, crop circles, and extraterrestrials shows our world to be vibrant, multidimensional, and mysterious. The author shows us how we can connect with this infinite universe. 5-0 out of 5 stars A door to the future!
An excellent cross-discipline book that brings the reader into a much bigger phenomenon that crop circles themselves. Dr. Hein explores realities that may help make a better world, by understanding that there are no simplistic answers to any of life's mysteries. A good read and a must for any student of the strange and wonderful.

5-0 out of 5 stars This Book Rocks!
Finally, the most informative book about crop circles. Fascinating reading. The reader will learn about topics such as remote viewing, quantum physics, and other "paranormal" topics. It is obvious that Dr. Hein has thoroughly researched these subjects. Not to be missed!

5-0 out of 5 stars Open your minds with Opening Minds
I have been researching the crop circles in England for a decade, and I know Dr. Hein personally (I hope that doesn't disqualify me!).

What I want to say is that my own findings, that the crop circles are made by spiritually inspired humans, coincide strongly with Dr. Hein's -- and indeed that his ideas have greatly extended my own thinking.

The fact is that what is flattening the crops is NOT where the mystery lies. There are SO many other unanswered questions, from the balls of light that have been seen by hundreds of people in the vicinity of crop circles (and close up by people making crop circles!), to what I call the "telepathic connection," as well as many other bewildering things which are covered in Opening Minds.

I recommend the book as by far the most realistic AND enlightening on the subject of the circles I have ever seen. Dr. Hein's discussion of UFOs and remote viewing, etc., are equally insightful.

3-0 out of 5 stars Material for both Musings and serious "What If's".
This volume contains less conjecture than other books that the author compiled. Probably because a good portion of the book is a republication of a translation of an ancient Indian book on Vinamas(aircraft)(though some were desinged for land and water travel). And that is why I bought it. Unfortunately, The old manuel references materials and methods that leave the reader still confused because many terms are undefined though they are translated. plus it almost seems some of the aircraft were too decoratively constructed to be be actually funtional. I can make a drawing of a giant dumbo elephant plane complete with instructions but that does not mean it will actually fly. It's also hard to determine if the original ancient authors may have only intended these manuals to be part of the legends and fantasy of the mahabah...however-you-spell-it battle. like a indian "lord of the rings" trilogy. But, you may ask, do we go through the trouble of publishing diagrams and manuals for euipment and ships that are just part of a fantasy? Yes we do. Go to a well stocked bookstore and look up the "star trek" technical manuals. However, many legends are based on seeds of fact. And it would be foolish to assume that ancient poeple were not capable of developing tech. advances-even to the point of flight. But, this book does not seperate the Fantasy & Fact. It seems to not allow for possibility of fantasy just fact.

1-0 out of 5 stars India?
India is starting to look more and more as the real cradle of civilization so flying machines might not be too far out there. Childress has a theory without proof then writes a whole chapter on it (anti-gravity). If Childress had a better grasp of science he might be on to something but so far he seems too open to alternative science, Orthodox science isn't perfect but disregard and misunderstanding of it isn't a way to build your case.

4-0 out of 5 stars the concept of aeronautics in ancient age
having read this book thoroughly i appreciate the effort done by the auther.i also translated the same book in technical english, the book is very informative,it simplified many equipments and systems to prevent the viman from natural hezards,to supply enery from natural sources.i whole heartedly appriciate him.since last 32 years ,i was working in an industry manufacturing supersonic fighter aircrafts, having adventage of technical knowledge and command on sanskrit,i can suggest a few addendums if the auther can enter them in his next revised addition, i wish every technical men should read this book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Gives translation and comments on ancient aircraft in India.
The author/editor provides us with a translation of ancient texts from India which purport to describe aircraft construction and operation. He then makes comments about the subject, including excerpts from related works. The point is that, according to Childress and others, the ancient civilization of India had made technological advances equaling and perhaps surpassing our own before it was mysteriously destroyed--perhaps in a nuclear war! I'm dubious, but his evidence is compelling nevertheless. ... Read more

Book Description

Warning: After you read this book you will believe in alien life.

The possible existence of extraterrestrial life is a phenomenon that has sparked more debate, controversy, fascination, and passion than any in recent history. Outpourings of UFO sightings, alien abductions, and covert government activity point to a truth which-as much as some people would like to-simply won't die. Now, in this provocative new book, bestselling author and UFOlogist Whitley Strieber boldly explores the vast territory of alien encounters, uncovering the most conclusive evidence of all: physical evidence that aliens may really be here.

Marvel as Whitley Strieber tells his own compelling story-and those of countless others-while you discover:

-Shocking new close encounters, many involving groups of people
-Thousands of sightings worldwide, many captured on video
-Shocking evidence of five mysterious implants surgically removed from human bodies
-And much, much more!

The most compelling question in the universe has remained unanswered for centuries. Now, finally, there is...Confirmation.

3-0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
As a big fan of Whitley Strieber, I was rather disappointed with this book. As the fifth in his series of books that describes his experiences and opinions on UFOs and aliens, it could have done more. The main feature that it lacked was the literary genious Strieber normally uses in describing his personal experiences. Instead, his just relays what others have done and experienced and has lowered himself to that of the average UFO writer/researcher. The fact that he really wasn't before was one of the reasons I had liked him. If you want the average "I was abducted" stories with author's opinion, this is a book for you. If not, don't get it; it's not worth the time to read.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not bad, but Strieber is out of his element
This is one book that shouldn't be judged by its lurid, tabloidesque cover. Strieber's approach is honest and evenhanded, and, unlike the back cover with its screaming red warning that "AFTER YOU READ THIS BOOK YOU *WILL* BELIEVE IN ALIEN LIFE," he never makes any over-the-top claims of conclusive proof. Critical of both debunkers and believers, Strieber argues simply that the UFO and close encounter phenomena are genuine unknowns that deserve serious scientific attention. Nothing more.

While it's a decent introduction to the field, though, Confirmation is definitely not Strieber at his best. What Strieber really has to offer is his own close encounter experiences, documented in Communion and its sequels, and the thousands of letters he has received from other close encounter witnesses, many of which are published in The Communion Letters. But when it comes to a general overview of UFO sightings, implants, etc., he has no particular credentials. The result is that Confirmation is mostly a rehash of evidence published elsewhere. Strieber is a storyteller, not a scientist, and is probably better off sticking to fiction and autobiography and leaving the "hard evidence" to professional UFO researchers.

4-0 out of 5 stars A great book....
I have to say this is truly a great book. While it might be lacking in the dark sort of prose Whitley has written in prior releases on the same subject, it's still a fascinating read.

I dont always agree with Whitley's belief's on the "visitors" intent, but the man has to be respected for going out to the edge.

I dont think I'd pay too much attention to William Harwood's review, it's little more than his immaturity and ego blown self promotion, that leads him to plug his own book at the end of a review. I dont know whether to laugh or cry at his obvious self importance.

I digress, Confirmation is well worth the read, as Mr. Strieber is truthfully to me, the only one out there that can put words to an indescribable set of events that impact so many. If you want a deep personal look into the subject, past the "are they real?" ... littered throughout ufology literature...this is for you. Congratulations Whitley...yet another fabulous read.

5-0 out of 5 stars No braver writer alive than Whitley
Whitley Strieber, having survived media sniping and the insult of lesser UFO "experts", still remains one of the strong, clear and clear-headed voices in this field. How he has survived the assault from alien and human alike, I'm not sure, but whatever he has gone through, he has done so with amazing poise and, as ever, one of the five the strongest prose styles working in the art of the novel today. This book is yet more evidence of what this brave soul has revealed to us -- that he could easily have hidden this all away, and written it as fiction, is a credit to the writer. That he didn't, is a credit to the man.

5-0 out of 5 stars Are You a Believer
I was very pleased with the book "Confirmation". I have seen! I am not an abductee, but I have seen. It is not my imagination. I felt he made the evidence very real and believible. I think the book was very informative, and though he wasn't discribing his own experiences, dosen't make them unbelievable. There are many who have been in those shoes. I am glad he wrote about other experiences. I am believer, I have seen and know it is all possible, and it could happen to anyone. I thought the book was an excellent accounting of things that could happen to any one of us. I was also unable to put it down once I started reading it. I hope their are more like it! Keep them coming. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars "And we will explore that later..."
This is the most un-readable UFO book I have ever seen. As another reviewer stated, he over-uses many many phrases. The author also seems to not have mastered the use of the, comma. (See previous sentence for an example.) But the most annoying thing is that he is constantly explaining "what we will explore in a later chapter", or "as we will see later". It reminds me of the morning network show where they always tell you what is coming up, but never seem to get to it!

As for the information, it may be in there, but good luck assimilating it; it is in such disorder that about all you can glean are random facts that you've probably heard before.

The author may be an effective and dedicated UFO researcher, but you'd never know it by this book.

5-0 out of 5 stars I Loved It!
I'm not normally a book reviewer, and since my opinion of this book closely aligns with the initial three reviewers, and long-time reviewer, Dennis Hawley, who also wrote the books foreward, I wasn't going to add my 2-cents. But, after reading this lastest review from Tharpa Doyle, I feel I have to speak up. It's becoming somewhat obvious anymore that some reviews you'll find on Amazon, are written purely with the intent to trash a product or person, and I hope this wasn't the case here. This book simply does not deserve a poor review like that!

"Alien Conspiracy" is a Limited Edition, Vols. 1 & 2, and nearly 300 pages. Since it clearly states on the title page, "Limited Researcher's Edition," one shouldn't expect it to be an over-night read. A researcher's edition is normally packed full of details and commentary not usually found in later editions and revisions. The author merges classic ufology, alien abduction, and the correlations of ancient writings, into one book (so it's like getting 3 books in 1), with references and cross references in the index (invaluable for researchers, and those keeping a score card).

I was amazed at the volume of detail, and hard work that had to go into it! I was not the least bit disappointed with the way the author ties it all together, nor with his style of commentary, and neither were my two friends, who read it before I did, and who highly recommended it to me.

I consider myself an avid reader and, like alot of people, I have read several books on UFO's and aliens over the years. I've read Vallee, Hynek, Hopkins, Jacobs, Hall, Karla Turner, Leah Hailey, Von Doniken, etc., etc., and IMO this book by Chris Evans truly deserves its rightful space with the best of them.

I literally found myself rivited from beginning to end, and even after reading all of the other books prior, I learned something new. I was always suspicious of the Maury Island Affair, and now I know why. I had heard of Frank Scully but didn't know where he fit in to it all, and now I do. I was always curious of the brief references to ancient writings, and strange characters mentioned in the Bible, and now I have a better understanding of who they may have been talking about.

I found the account of experiencer Andrea Roberts quite interesting too, as well as a little disturbing. How many other people like Andrea are out there? Those who may have even told their story to an abduction researcher, but it got "filed" because it didn't fit with the standard M.O. we've come to expect thanks to pop culture, and all of those near identical accounts retrieved through regressive hypnosis.

When people think of alien's now, they automatically think Grey or Reptilian. But, Andrea's story is not about either one. Is that why that one reviewer below called her case suspect? Doyle called her story a filler, so he/she must not have gotten it either. Like it or not, alien's, UFO's, and the paranormal, appear to go hand in hand, and if we're ever going to get close to an answer, all of it has to be considered as a whole, which the author does quite well in this book.

No, IMO this book positively does not deserve a bad review! I don't hesitate to recommend Alien Conspiracy, and I'm eagerly awaiting the next book by Chris Evans!

2-0 out of 5 stars I would have given him three stars...
if it wasn't for chapters 8 - 10. They had little to do with any actual conspiracy and were almost entirely based on the alleged personal experiences of, it seemed, one rather suspect individual. Those chapters probably should have been the subject of another book altogether.

Still it was an overall decent read despite the author's abuse of the phrase "double-entendre." He seems to be a capable researcher so I'll likely read his next one.

Interestingly, the book arrived apparently signed by the author. That's a first.

5-0 out of 5 stars A BOOK BETTER THAN ITS COVER...!
This is a fine book ! Chris has orchestrated several components of the alien phenomena and put them into the bigger picture . I must say most books leave me wanting ; this book leaves me wanting his next effort too. It is a genius of letting a novice understand and a pro like me understand more. The best UFO book I've read in recent memory ... ! If you're ' looking ' for answers , then you will like this presentation . It takes a special genius for me to get to the computer and write a review, and , this book by Chris Evans is a special genius I happily recommend .
The other positive reviews I see on it are echoed by me as well ... IF YOU READ ONE BOOK ON THIS SUBJECT : READ THIS ONE !
... A researcher in Canada ...

5-0 out of 5 stars This Book Altered My Pre-Conceived Beliefs
I'm a novice when it comes to the UFO phenomenon and I was pretty sure I knew what my beliefs were concerning UFO's. Then I read Mr. Evans' book. The detailed history of UFO's, the abundance of information in his notes, and the never before published Andrea Roberts case caused me to think and rethink my previous knowledge of the phenomenon for WEEKS after I turned the final page. The final chapters containing Chris Evans' research into the tablets and scrolls of antiquity blew me away! My mind continues to be intrigued by the possibility of WHO some of these visitors are and how long they have been influencing those of us on planet earth. This is a highly informative, intellectually researched resource on the UFO phenomenon, yet is much more than most would expect. I would highly recommend this book to anyone. ... Read more

Book Description

On the night of November 15, 1966, two adventurous young couples drove into the TNT area north of Point Pleasant, West Virginia. What they saw in the countryside that night has evolved into one of the great mysteries of all time: just who or what was the Mothman?

This book will answer many questions regarding just what those couples saw outside the abandoned North Power Plant that night. Culled from a variety of sources, the materials presented inside are not conjecture--the authors are careful not to cross the line between fact and fiction--leaving any decisions regarding the truth behind the Mothman legend solely up to the reader.

The book features eyewitness reports, previously unpublished information, photographs, newspaper clippings, and more. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Guide to the Ohio Valley Incident!
It was my pleasure to meet with both Donnie Sergeant and Jeff Wamsley in Point Pleasant. I am SO thrilled to have received my signed copy from them, for this was my best start in finding out about the incidents of the Mothman and ufo's in the 60's and 70's in my neighborhood of the Ohio Valley.

Sergeant and Wamsley's book was filled with enough information to aid in my visit to Point Pleasant and to see the locations described by the eyewitnesses. It also led me to read John Keel's book as well.

I highly recommend this book for anyone wanting to get the story first hand from eyewitnesses and from newspaper articles. It's a great starting point for anyone wanting to research the strange happenings in the Point Pleasant area.

4-0 out of 5 stars FASCINATING READING!
Whether one does or does not believe in alien forces, readers will likely enjoy this book for the interesting facts it contains on the Mothman. The authors present the book in this light, relying on the reader to come to their own conclusions about what or how much is fact versus fiction. The legend of the Mothman has been intriguing people since the first appearance in the 1960's. Depending on one's source of information, the physical discription of the Mothman varies from one report to another and may not actually match the one shown on the cover of this book. The book is quite short; however, it is worth reading. I understand this legend is soon to be released as a motion picture; however, in many cases, the actual story told throughout the pages of a book often surpasses the movie. In a book, one can conjure up their own speculative images of the characters which, personally, I prefer to do. This is an enlightening, fascinating read, particularly the newspaper articles found in the book; they are remarkably chilling.

5-0 out of 5 stars MOTHMAN: Just The Facts......
Here we have two local authors that not only tell the entire story but present it in a totally unbiased manner. Who better to tell the story of Mothman than investigating locals? John Keels book was and is great in my opinion but so too is Mr. Wamsley's and Mr. Sergent's.
The authors didn't slap the "Mothman" title on this book and take off writing about other things as some have. They didn't throw this book together to ride the Mothman-movie-bandwagon, no, they give you exactly what you expect and more! The tale of Mothman in Point Pleasant, West Virginia starting in 1966. The straight forward, complete story with testimony, media and personally researched accounts! You get what you pay for and sometimes more, this is one of those "more" times. ENJOY!

1-0 out of 5 stars I thought it would have more content....
When I chose this particular book, I surpased the Mothman Prophecies by Keel, thinking this book would be better and with more info. All this is is articles from some people who saw it in 1966. Article after article, again stating the same comments over and over from the same people. I was very disappointed. Think next time I'll check out the book Mothman Prophecies book by Keel. There's GOT to be more info. out there....this book was a waste of money and I buy from Amazon bookstore quite often and for many years.

3-0 out of 5 stars Filtering Reviews
As someone interested in the Mythology of MOTHMAN, as I read down these reviews I keep getting the feeling that the bulk of the 5 star reviews are friends of the authors or residents of the area or both.
Nothing wrong with being an 'insider' as long as you can keep objective about your subject, and not simply write a small town "booster" piece to rope in the thebe tourists... ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars THE GREATEST STORIES EVER TOLD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"True Hallucinations" remains as much of a sentimental, "favorite book" as I have; if I do still in fact have just one. I met Terence, albeit relatively briefly, at a conference in NYC in 1996, and his eloquence and ideas absolutely changed the trajectory of my whole life. This is a work that is an edge of your seat adventure tale that unfolds within the most gorgeous prose style you can possibly imagine. The fact that it is a true life story makes it all the more moving(especially in light of his recent death: April 3, 2000)and mind blowing. I've read, and reread this a few times over the years, and it still moves me as much, as any work I have ever encountered; probably even moreso.
"Archaic Revival" is the best "one-stop" place to find an overview of many of McKenna's major ideas. The book contains interviews, essays etc. on so many different subjects that I doubt that I could recommend a better book; unless it would be "True Hallucinations". While "True Halluciantions" is a story/novel, "Archaic Revival" is a more varied piece; though equally challenging and moving in it's own ways. The fact that these are available as a "twofer" is just great. Don't miss out. Order a couple to give out as gifts ! I did.

5-0 out of 5 stars synapses forming
This is an excellent compilation of two books by Terence McKenna. The price is cheap and the quality and quantity have yet to be challenged. True Hallucinations is about Terence's journey to the amazon. The second book included is The Archaic Revival, which is collection of essays and interviews relating to this great man. Terence was a great mind, who knows what he would be saying now if he were still alive. Perhaps we should take it upon ourselves to utilize this material to help us grow some synapses. This book makes you really think, and it forms moments of enlightenment with each page. Fans of McKenna should definitely check this stuff out if they haven't already. Great read.

5-0 out of 5 stars Brand New Exciting Work On Celestial Visitors !!
This brand new 580 page book (10/00) contains more than 30 photographs, many in full color. It is written by Ernest Moyer who has devoted much of his time to investigating the phenomenon of "celestial visitors".This fascinating reference provides the reader with a real insight into the subject. It's very comprehensive, covering topics from: Kidnapped by UFOs, Abduction, Android Grays, Biological and Nuclear Disasters, Flying Islands, Moons of Mars, Craft Design, Visits with God, American Indian Legends, Cosmic Reserve Corps and much, much more. Sources of information are included and the work is completely indexed.Considering the nature of the material, it is not difficult to read or understand, and is most thought provoking. The author sums it all up with "The author prayerfully hopes this work will help others understand the celestial activities surrounding our planet today, the path of unfolding planetary destiny, and our contribution to God's program of time."Well worth reading.

This book is brillantly written. And the author is a man of great substance. His ability to make deductions, intelligent deductions, is incredible. And in the back of the book are simply incredible photographs of UFO's and other evidence (such as the "crop circles" which no one can explain). But we do have to deal with the man. Before I tell you some of his deductions, we have to ascertain whether he has the experience and education to conduct such a monumental work. In appendix one, you will find out his personal history. It is quite impressive, to say the least. Surfice it for me to simply state that he acquired his Master's Degree in electrical engineering and specialized in the study of "electron device physics". The author remindsme of John Lilly, the scientist who claimed that dolphins were smarter than us. It is just that their fortes are in philosophy, music, and even the understanding of rebirth. Yet dispite Lilly's contentions, Moyer has evidence and is more objective in his findings. There is much comparison in this book with other sources, such as Johnathan Swift and others. But Moyer really concentrates on three areas. First, The Urantia Book. Second, the Bible. And third, alien abductions. Then he trisects these three sources until he reaches "common denominators". Moyer comes to the definite conclusion that aliens are benevolent. Further, that they are "angels" or devas in Hinduism and Buddhism. They are here to help us, not harm us. And to carry out God's plan. Then why do so many abductees state that aliens are malevonent? Moyer states that we "project" onto the aliens our fears and terrors. This makes alien abductions nightmarish for those people who have psychological problems. Moyer sees a universe that is totally benevolent. His mainconcern seems to be our psychological reactions to to our alien visitors. He also claims that if Jesus came down here today, many of us would dismiss all of what He says, or at least a part of it. Despite Moyers deductions, this would explain why aliens come here and simply want no contact. That is, visiting the president and having dinner. They are here to help us. And if we resist them, which is the same as dismissing God's will, than we will become terrified and experience them as violent demons. But this is only the case if we project our hidden fears and terrors onto them. If you watch X-Files or are interested in alien abductions, I would highly recommend this book. Moyer is extremely intelligent and insightful. This book needs to be on your shelf if you are interested in these phenomenas in any capacity. The documentation and beautiful pictures in the book are worth the price alone. I'm putting my copy beside my "heavy duty" philosophy books. Even if Moyer is only 10% right in his assertrions, he will have made a significant contribution to the topic onhand. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars THIS BOOK IS MY BIBLE
Besides "Battlefield Earth" no other book has had such a profound impact on my life. I think it is important to reveal the truth behind the government lies about the Nazi's and UFO's. However, this book leaves out important tidbits of valuable information about the hidden Government messages designed to brainwash us in everyday newspapers and movies. Also, this book completely overlooks the battels in Outer Space between Africa and China as well as the battles for control of the undersea weapons bases during the Spanish American war. However, everything in this book is completely true, just sort of hard to belive at first, just like the delightful newspaper: Weekly World News (quite possibly the only truthful newspaper left). You must forget your old way of thinking and begin to believe the truth and pass it on, otherwise we all might become victems of these horryfying conspircies. Thank you Branton, you will almost certainly go down in history as one of the greatest people who ever lived!

1-0 out of 5 stars This Book Is A Joke
Whoever this "Commander X" is, he's obviously a comedian. This book is a joke. The author's argument wanders all over the place and is not coherent. The quality and resolution of pictures and documents in this book are incredibly poor. The pictures are out of focus and/or grainy, and could easily be fakes or pictures of something else besides what they are claimed to be. Anyone who believes this book will believe anything. I am NOT a UFO skeptic, I do believe they exist, but this particular book is a sham. Save your money!

5-0 out of 5 stars How wild does it get?
It gets VERY wild. Books like this are hard to review actually. From what angle should you come from? I mean, here is a book that talks about reptilian aliens living in underground bases in Antarctica and colloborating with Nazi criminals and the US govt to take over the world. And careful: this is NOT a sci-fi novel.Nope, the author professes to be reporting to us the "truth". And what i am describing above isnt even half as wild as this book is.
I guess that with the aid of some wonderful herbs this can be a great read (you could wind up having a bad trip of course)...
Then again if you are a seasoned paranoiac this is just the right stuff for you.

4-0 out of 5 stars AN INTRIGUING -- AND OFTEN BIZARRE -- POINT OF VIEW
THIS BOOK TOTALLY FREAKED ME OUT. I mean here is a photograph toward the back of the book which shows a man standing on the outer rim of a craft that very much looks like a flying saucer. There is another picture of a similar vehicle with what looks to be some sort of weapon suspended from the hull of the ship. Advanced weapon at that. Unlike other UFO pictures this look amazing real so I dont know what to make of the author's claim that some of the UFOs we see were actually either constructed by the Nazi toward the end of WWII, or have been manufactured in places like Area 5l supposedly based upon the Nazi UFO designs. A zillion books have been written on UFOs being interplanetary in origin . . . that is the most popular belief among so called serious UFOlogists. But there are other schools of thought -- and the author, Branton -- has done a deservingly good job of collecting data which possibly shows that at least some UFOs are"man" made. More than half a century after the close of the war we may still be fighting the evil Hitler! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Yes, there was a cover-up !
By the so called "ufologists," actually. It is really difficult to take one seriously when one doesn't take his job seriously. And that is the problem with "ufologists." Every claim that fits their scheme is valid, and they go unchecked. Hearsay becomes the truth, if it complies with their beliefs. It looks just like another sect.

This book uses the very material provided by the believers to show the incongruences of their stories. It doesn't try to prove if Roswell's UFO crash happened or not. Mostly, it checks the "evidence" provided and when it gets scrutinized, little remains. In order to do this, the author verifies basic documentation (which, of course, believers didn't look for) to prove some "witnesses" can't be trusted.

The author hardly expresses his opinions, he presents information hidden by UFO fanatics and the truth is obvious.

A great book, but not a fun one. If you are up to fantasies, don't read this one. Go see some Hollywood movie or read a book that makes up a Roswell case. (By the way, in my opinion aliens may be visiting our planet, but it's got to be proven by serious people)

4-0 out of 5 stars "You Can't Handle the Truth!"
Yeesh, some of these other reviews make me ill. "Government propagandist"? "Disinformation agent"? Some reviewers have been watching too many old episodes of the X-FILES.

Korff is not an expert at elegant prose. Yes, his writing style can be irritating. Yes, it takes some of the shine off of this book. But were it really counts--the CONTENT--Korff is spot-on in his analysis and investivation of the Roswell events and the legend that has arisen around them. I'd been a Roswell entusiest for years when I discovered Korff's book. Coming on the heels of the debunking of the infamous "Roswell autopsy," Korff's book was a huge discovery for me. Critical thinking abounds, as does actual *evidence* ... something other Roswell books always tend to lack.

There seems to be an organized campaign amongst Roswell believers to discredit Korff. It's a silly, ridiculous attempt to cling to their beliefs. Read this book yourself, then YOU decide which side has more evidence, more arguments, more *meat*.

5-0 out of 5 stars Echoes, with delays recorded by stopwatch,accompanied....
Project
of decoding of 'The Stormer Effect'
The phenomenon is described by Ñ.Stîrmer in his work 'The Problem of Aurora Borealis' in the chapter entitled 'The Echo of Short Waves, Which Comes Back in Many Seconds After The Main Signal'.
In 1928 the radio engineer Jorgen Hals from Bigder near Oslo informed Ñ.Stormer about an odd radio echo received 3 seconds after the cessation of the main signal; besides, an ordinary echo encircling the Earth within 1/7 of a second was received.
In July Prof. Stormer spoke to Dr. Van-der-Paul in Andhoven and they decided to carry out experiments in autumn and send telegraphic signals in the form of undamped waves every 20 seconds three dashes one after the other. On 11 October 1928 between 15.30 and 16.00, Ñ.Stormer heard an echo 'beyond any doubt'; the signals lasted for 1,5- 2 seconds on undamped waves 31,4 meters long.
Stormer and Hals recorded the intervals between the main signal and the mysterious echo:
1) 15, 9, 4, 8, 13, 8, 12, 10, 9, 5, 8, 7, 6
2) 12, 14, 14, 12, 8
3) 12, 5, 8
4) 12, 8, 5, 14, 14, 15, 12, 7, 5.5, 13, 8, 8, 8, 13, 9, 10, 7, 14, 6, 9, 5
5) 9
Atmospheric disturbances were insignificant at that time. The frequency of echoes was equal to that of the main signal. Ñ.Stormer explained the nature of echoes by reflection of radio waves from layers of particles ionised by the Sun. But!
The Professor of the Stenford Electrotechnical University R.Bracewell suggested possibility of informational communication through space probes between more or less developed civilisations in space. From that point of view the information about decoding of Stormer series can be found in following journals:
'Smena' No.2 Moscow 1966 , 'Astronautics and Aeronautics' No.5 USA 1973, 'Technika Molodezi' No.4 1974 and No.5 1977 Moscow, etc.
The author of this work offers the following decoding: let the numbers in the series be replaced for chemical symbols of elements with corresponding nuclear charges:
1) P F Be O Al O Mg Ne F B O N C
2) Mg Si Si Mg O
3) Mg B O
4) Mg O B Si Si P Mg N B B Al O O O Al F Ne N Si C F B
5) F
It is easy to see that the second series is repeated at the beginning of the forth series with the only difference that in the forth series silicon is alloyed with boron and phosphorus, i.e. 'p-n transition' of a diode is created. The third series describes receipt of pure boron through action on boron anhydrite by magnesium:
B2O3 + Mg ® B+...
The author of the above hypothesis wrote his degree paper on silicon carbide light-emitting diode, that is why the ending of the forth series is the most simple- it is a modern light-emitting diode. Silicon carbide is alloyed with nitrogen and boron with 'some participation' of fluorine. Approximately the same way diamond is alloyed with participation of fluorine in laboratories of 'other civilisations', as can be seen at the ending of the first series. In the middle of the forth series corundum, the base of ruby, is also alloyed with boron, nitrogen and fluorine. In the fifth series simply fluorine is educed as a useful but very aggressive gas. Inert neon seems to divide optoelectronic devices.
In conclusion, some repeated applications should be noticed: fluorine favours in a way either diffusion of boron or electronic processes in forbidden zones of diamond, silicon carbamide; for some reason magnesium contacts are used.
In 1928 semi-conductor devices were not in use on Earth.
Sincerely yours,
1978 year, Henadzi Filipenka

1-0 out of 5 stars A public for lies
Kal knows that only 60% of the American public believes that UFOs are real and wrote his book for the other 40%. Read the book by Colonel Corso "The Day After Roswell" to understand why a clique of special interest wants the public to believe that UFOs do not exist and that Roswell never took place.

Kal worked as a senior analyst on the Star Wars program at Livermore California, a center for NASA and the clique. The special interests of the clique represent tens of billions of dollars taxpayers have poured on Star Wars, a cover for preparing politicians to spend huge amount of money to protect earth from these terrible aliens.

With the growing multiplication of crop circles and the inability of the clique to burry such visible evidence, the clique is forced to recognize the reality of extra-terrestrial visitors but need to first discredit Roswell, which many regard as a caused accident.

Kal has been caught many times lying with facts, dates, locations, testimonials and hard evidence. He is a friend of another bona fide liar, Richard Motzer who denies the reality of the Phoenix spaceship, witness by thousands of people over Arizona on March 1997.

To beef-up his lack of credibility with ufologists, he does not hesitate to boast on his website that Amazon.com has found his book the best among twenty others. First, Amazon.com does not endorse books. Second, the people praising his book are most likely friends of Kal, hoping to invent notoriety on a popular site. The man is that low.

Kal is a Johnny come lately to serious UFO analysis and is only interested to stirr emotions from people who desperately hang on to the medieval concept that man is alone in the Universe. If man is not alone, aliens must be more technologically advanced than we are, and what is so special about a crash at Roswell, unless it was a cosmic crime?

Kal Korff, Richard Motzer, Karl Pflock, James Oberg, Philipp Klass, and before them Donald Menzel and Carl Sagan belong to a long list of paid or subsidized UFOs debunkers, in league to brainwash the public into spending billions for useless space programs based on rocketry when the so-called scientists they support have long proved idiotic at reverse-engineering the anti-gravity technologies recovered at Roswell. Check the names of the above individuals on the Internet and see what others have to say.

3-0 out of 5 stars Pretty Fiction
This was an entertaining book, but it bothered me on a few levels. For one, with the exception of Richard Nixon and Abraham Lincoln, the author makes Republicans out to be jerks. If one is going to write a book about political hauntings, I feel it is less distracting to keep oneself completely objective. There were several comments throughout the book, as well as the way certain stories were told, that show that Martin and Birnes are hardcore Democrats. Nothing wrong with being a part of either party, but this is not a book about bipartisanship. It's about the paranormal.

The lack of documentation, or outright misuse of it is another bothersome point. For example, in the retelling of Washington's angelic vision, we learn that there are no primary sources for this story, and it was in fact, published in 1880, well after the Civil War, which is important (read the book if you want the whole story). This robs the story of credibility entirely as it is, but the authors refer to this vision as though it were undeniably real for the rest of the book. The same goes for any story that has no real documentation or real support. The authors try to convince you that the paranormal version of the story has to be true, ignoring other, more plausible factors. It seems that they are trying to turn every last creak in the White House into something it probably isn't.

Historical accuracy is also a problem. While for the most part, the book is right on, there are a few gross inconsistencies. This robs the book of credibility as well.

While I am a believer in the paranormal, and ghost stories fascinate me, as do psychic experiences, even the most die hard believer should know that we have to research and document information for it to have any credibility whatsoever. Just because one believes does not mean that one believes all that they read.

I will from now on stick to the Norman/Scott books, which do not try to cram belief down one's throat, but rather, tell the story and the evidence to support it or discredit it.

2-0 out of 5 stars If Abe Lincoln hasn't haunted these guys, he should!
If there were psychiatrists who treated books then this book would provide a valuable case study for some practitioner. This book has more personalities than the White House has ghosts. Overall the writing is fairly good which is a plus. On the negative side however, there are numerous historical errors that tend to make the reader leery of the book as a whole.

The first quarter of this book is made up of stories that include premonitions in dreams, curses, prophecies and a UFO or two. There is hardly a ghost to be found and after about fifty pages I almost gave up and put the book down. If you are looking for the ghosts that are hinted at in the title you could just skip the first ninety-seven pages.

Then, after trudging through the first unimpressive part of the book, the reader will come to the best part. The second quarter of the book finally deals with ghosts in the White House as well as the ghosts of former Presidents and First Ladies who reside elsewhere. The documentation is a little lacking but there are a few eyewitness accounts and these stories are at the very least interesting. I particularly liked the story of the former Garfield home in Hiram, Ohio as well as the story of Teddy Roosevelt caught on video by tourists at Sagamore Hill.

The next section deals with the spiritual beliefs of the Presidents and details various séances held at the White House. This section of course includes the Lincoln White House, and Lincoln becomes the focus for the next quarter of the book. This is an interesting section but is again not very well documented.

The final quarter of the book leaps off into silliness. It is almost entirely taken up by Nancy Reagan and her psychic and Hillary Clinton's supposed chats with Eleanor Roosevelt. There is one nice little section near the end of the book that deals with hauntings in the DC area but the stories are brief and again lack any documentation. Finally, in an apparent attempt to kill what little credibility this book has, the authors bring in mediums and converse with the dead Presidents. They even manage to ask JFK about Marilyn Monroe's suicide, which fits in perfectly because these authors buy into every conspiracy theory ever conceived.

Basically, I was disappointed with this book. It is a fun read at times but most of the time it is just off the wall and silly. There simply has to be a better book on this subject out there somewhere and I would like to find it. Maybe I should find a medium and ask JFK what he thinks.

4-0 out of 5 stars Well Written Ghost Stories
I disagree with the one and two-star ratings. The book is well written and a page turner. In fact, I have been reading it late at night and sometimes the hair on the back of my neck stands up: not because I believe everything I am reading, but because the book can stand alone as a fine collection of well-written, entertaining ghost stories. If you are willing to suspend the "need to disbelieve" while reading the book, prepare to be spooked. If you are looking for concrete, logical proof of ghosts, you will be disappointed. (Hence my four, and not five-star rating.)

In my opinion, both authors respect the paranormal experience and avoid sensationalism. The authors claim to base the book on documents, both declassified secret service and CIA files and through old letters and transcripts. They also write that the White House is the most haunted house in the US. The book includes an extensive bibliography on the paranormal and a listing of presidential haunts by state because birthplaces can also be haunted.

Abraham Lincoln is the most documented sighting, especially at the time of FDR and World War II, but a total of 22 (or so) US presidents have been sighted, as well as former first ladies, and a few of the "first children."

*Haunting* goes deep into the history of the paranormal experiences of the presidents themselves. For example, George Washington, who never lived in the White House, wrote a friend that he had a "visiting angel" while at Valley Forge telling him he mustn't give up, even under the horrendous conditions. Then the book explores the documented visitation of Washington's spirit to the Union officer Chamberlain during the Battle of Gettysburg, giving the Union officer strategic advice.

According to written accounts, Washington also tried to warn Gen. McClellan that if he (McClellan) didn't take action soon, he would be removed from his post. McClellan did nothing and, of course, Lincoln did indeed oust McClellan, replacing him with US Grant.

But the best part of the book is about the ghostly activity at the White House through the years, and the First Families who were open to the experience, albeit secretly. I have always been fascinated with the *possibility* of a haunted White House, but this is the first book I have found on the subject. I visited the White House in an era long before 9/11 when you could actually tour the place, and I felt then that it was filled with otherworldly energy.

Many of us need concrete documentation of the paranormal experience, and the authors fail to provide us with it in some, but not all, circumstances. A few of us need less concrete proof because what the authors write "rings true" within us somehow. Does that make us more gullible? Perhaps, but all of us believe what we want to believe. I am a "skeptical mystic" and I took what was mine to take from the book and left the rest. I advise other readers to do the same.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best books I ever read
I totally disagree with the other two comments on this great book. Joel Martin has once again outdone himself. I could not put this book down until I was finished and then wanted to read it again!! The stories about the hauntings of the White House were so detailed and fascinating that I felt that I was actually experiencing them in person. I highly recommend this book to everyone. It is a wonderfully different look at our history and the personal lives of our leaders.

1-0 out of 5 stars No Credibility
I agree with the review posted by darkgenius below. The book simply does not provide enough documentation for its claims. Many of the stories seem to rest on the slenderest foundations. For instance, the authors recount a tale of George Washington encountering a ghost - or angel - at Valley Forge in 1778. This lengthy, detailed narrative, written in a pseudo-Biblical style, is attributed to Washington himself. However, we then learn that Washington didn't write it, after all - it was written up by a "young aide, Anthony Sherman, who many years later, in 1859, retold the account" to a reporter. So what we have is a second-hand story circulated 81 years after the alleged event (and bearing obvious references to the Civil War - astoundingly prophetic in 1778, but not so remarkable in 1859, when the war was imminent). Things get worse as the book continues. Nostradamus is dragged into the discussion. We hear of a ghost story reported by "an unnamed source" in "a national tabloid." The Bible Code makes an appearance. All credibility is lost. In the Foreword, Joel Martin says, "We wanted this book to be more than merely a collection of anecdotes." They failed. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Incredible - mind expanding ideas
Even if you think "humans are the ultimate of creation" you need to read this book because it's an education about energy, and so many other possibilities. This is a book you won't want to end.

5-0 out of 5 stars A must read for those curious about the alien presense
First of all, I have personally met Delores Cannon. She is a very sincere, genuinely likable woman who is dedicated to uncovering the mysteries that may ultimately do much good in helping humanity find it's direction.

This book is truly a 'wake up call' - in that it sheds light on underground sinister operations. We have been duped by our own government (no suprise) and once again the wool covers our blind eyes.

Find out the real reasons for the alien presense - READ THIS BOOK!

5-0 out of 5 stars It's a page turner
I couldn't wait to read the next section in this fascinating book. Dolores relays to us the direct testimony of a few contactees. And she herself, while not an experiencer, is delightfully honest and simple. I found the testimony fascinating and very revealing and am anxious to read the sequel, which I've ordered. It seems to me that something really big is happening, and I dare say something wonderful. Books like these are the first signs of a stunning reality that I believe is now gradually unfolding.

4-0 out of 5 stars mind expanding but with limitations
The limitations involve the alien's own reluctance to answer certain questions until a certain amount of time has passed. My guess is that they do not want to influence us during critical junctures coming up involving challenges posed to our souls by the earth changes. They probably are also aware that our own lack of self-understanding will result in misinterpretations about much of what they are doing, and the way they are going about it.
Our lack of self-understanding is also expressed in the author's questions to the aliens. Just as one must know enough about a subject to be able to ask the right questions, we must also have enough self-understanding to be able to ask questions concerning the nature of reality, time, and space--and much of this book deals with the incredible alternate reality that these creatures are so adept at manipulating, which is ultimately what makes this book so mind expanding.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Favorite for Alien Abduction Readers
I like to read books on Alien Abduction. This is at the top of my book list. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Awe inspiring story of reality
This is a story of a hero who was caught in a web of deceit that was reflected in the Montauk project. It's purpose was to control
the minds of people in the use of mind altering drugs, elf, mind control techniques which inventually lead to the effective control of the population. His existence in the project leads credence to his courage, strength of mind and resilience in character that should be an example to all. This is an extremely thought provoking book that will give you a "Reality Check".

5-0 out of 5 stars MIND-EXPANDING, INSPIRATIONAL AND ONE-OF-A KIND!
This is a must-read for a mind-expanding experience into the world of an actual person who is living proof that alien abductions and interfacing with the paranormal on a daily basis can have a positive outcome. Swerdlow mesmerized me with his involvement with the Montauk Project and subsequent other-worldly interactions with both aliens and extra-terrestials.

But most of all, what I liked best about the book is to see how someone who had learned valuable skills through his psychic training at Montauk could, in turn, use what he learned to help people by teaching them knowledge and techniques to help heal themselves and others using color codes and archetypes (symbols).

I am truly inspired by Swerdlow's story from a very non-conventional life-and a particularly difficult one at that-to a life dedicated to using his unusual mental abilities to help others in dealing with recovering from traumatic experiences, mind-control projects, mental illness, physical illnesses or diseases. Swerdlow shows that anyone's life can be turned around to benefit others by using one's past experiences and knowledge, even if they contain an inordinate amount of pain, suffering and struggle.

A look at his website tells me exactly how he's continuing to help people right now-and it's almost as unbelievable as the story may seem! So, I learned the unbelievable IS REAL, but then, what's real? Close-minded people locked into their five-sense prison needs something stronger than this book to wake them up to the truth going on or what DOES go on(how about a VERY BIG volcanic eruption or earthquake?) My only criticism is I want to hear more and more! Can you tell I enjoyed this book? Very much so -I read it five times! I highly recommend you expand your mind by reading Swerdlow's one-of-a-kind book MONTAUK: THE ALIEN CONNECTION.

1-0 out of 5 stars Horrible
If one was to believe anything at all by any of the Montauk books this book will make you once again a non-believer. It is simply the most ridiculous story about someones so-called alien abductions with absolutely no plausibility.Seriously i couldn't read it with a straight face and couldn't even finish it.I enjoyed the original Montauk Files and Montauk Project books 1 and 2. But this story simply is a way for the "author" to make money. These books should have stopped when there was still a slight degree of plausability to them, instead they insist on trying to make ridiculous connections to anything and everything into this so-called conspiracy story.

5-0 out of 5 stars The wildest UFO book I have ever read
"Montauk: The Alien Connection" was probably the most interesting UFO book I have ever read. This book overlaps with the books in the Montauk series, but also goes in detail on the author's personal experiences.

I find it heartening that the author discusses what would seem to be a completely outrageous story to the general public. The author presents what he believes is true, regardless of mainstream acceptance.

Furthermore, regardless of the reality of the story, this was an exceedingly entertaining book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Story, Peculiar Reality
I recommend this book to anyone in search of truth. Don't listen to the poor reviews above. Stewart knows his stuff. What he says is true. I find Blue Blood True Blood to be an even better book but this is a great story and is more of a story than an informative document. Read it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Rediscovering ourselves
I decided to write this review because I believe the previous reviewers don't really do justice to this book. Appreciative as their comments are, they really do not convey the magnificence of this work. I'm not sure I can do it myself, but I'll do my best in the following lines.
First of all, this book is huge, which means that you will be reading it for a long time. Why is this relevant? Because whenever you touch the book, or carry it with you, there is an amazingly positive energy that emanates from it and gradually transforms you into a far more evolved being than you used to be. Therefore, in periods when you don't have time to read, just carry the book with you when you're walking down the streets, or put it under your pillow at night before you go to sleep. I assure you that, unless you have strong psychic blocks against spiritual evolution, it will operate wonders in your sense of well-being.
This transformative energy that I mention emanates, I believe, from its author, Zoosh, the entity that Robert Shapiro channels. Zoosh is an interdimensional entity whose main purpose it is to give us greater understanding about ourselves and the universe. One of the means that he uses to this end is to tell us of our history on this planet since we were seeded here, billions of years ago. Although that story is fascinating, the point is obviously not to entertain the reader, but to help the reader understand the historical roots of countless human problems. The understanding of these root causes does make it easier for us to address those problems.
The reasons why he explains humans were created are truly amazing. Although I read books before that hinted at this specific issue, I had never seen it as well explained as it is in The Explorer Race. In particular, the reason, as explained by Zoosh, why there is so much negativity on Earth, and specifically in our lives, really is mind-blowing. You really will grow as a human being as you read the hundreds of pages in which Zoosh explains this matter in detail.
One peculiarity of Zoosh's tale is that he is never judgmental in his accounts, and also that he explains complicated matters without ever generating fear in the reader. This results in what I believe to be the only shortcoming of the book, which is that he tends to become rather vague when he is talking about shady events. Still, one can get detail elsewhere, and in any case lack of information is one thing this book cannot be accused of, when seen as a whole.
To conclude this review, I believe that it is important to mention that this book will be very useful for people who already have read channeled material, but have gotten scared with some of the discoveries they have made into this new world. It is a book that is designed to explain a lot of stuff, but at the same time decrease the reader's level of fear in these matters. Zoosh truly is a wonderful being, and he will help you make sense of issues that I believe few others can.

5-0 out of 5 stars Satisfaction of Human Questioning
"These books have satisfied a deep need in me to know the answers to the age-old questions we all have asked: Why is there so much suffering in the world? Will there ever be peace on Earth? Who am I? Why am I here? Where did I come from? The answers to these questions are so awe-inspiring and heart-warming that it is impossible for me to see any members of mankind as anything less than a hero - or divine hero - because these books tell us that we are here on this small planet in all the vastness of creation, of which our universe is a small part, to serve and expand the consciousness of all creation in a truly magnificent way."

5-0 out of 5 stars One of The Finest channeled books I've come across
If you are new to this genre of reading or if you as myself are a well seasoned reader/seeker of truth and new age (I hate that term from the neg. conotations it has generated) info. This book is an excellent source. It is well put together very well and the other books in the series are also excellent. I have wide background in this type of info. A lot of which is personal. If you want to learn about the BIG Picture about life on earth and beyond this is a great book for a novice /pro. I especially like the fact that the info. here is not in any way fear based or scary. Every Chapter will leave you with good a warm feeling. the work is pepered with things that you can put into practice. It really ties in all of the other "realites" that you may have come across in other books. Shapiro is a powerfull Channel and asks good questions. The main contact is "Zoosh" who is disembodied entity that has a perspective as High and in-depth as our creator's. Read it and find yourself saying AH-HA. It all makes perfect sense! ---Peace

5-0 out of 5 stars Mind expanding information about our human origins
This is a fascinating and informative description of the origins of humanity. Forget about Darwin, and the pitiful history courses we all took. This stuff is mind-blowing, witty, and a lot of fun. You couldn't make this up -- it's too unique. I've read SF my whole life, and this was a lot better than any SF book! A must-read for seekers of truth.

5-0 out of 5 stars Better than an episode of the X-Files.
While many channelers are nothing more than blathering bores, Robert Shapiro seems to be a never-ending fountain of entertainment. You have to doubt that anyone could ever invent such a multi-faceted story. Is it possible that he could've made all of this stuff up? The amount of clear and easily digestible information is staggering. If you wonder where Hollywood is pulling all of their ideas for films such as Dark City and the Truman Show, you should probably read this book. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Indisputable evidence - well documented
I read and reviewed "Messages From Space" earlier this year for a print publication. I am currently writing for two websites and wished to add some comments to this review area.
When I initially picked up this book, I was as skeptical as most might be. However, Jay Goldner's research was as fascinating as it was convincing. His finding's are presented in a clear and concise format that show there is more to the Crop Circle phenomenon than is being told to the public.
Though it has been proven in the past that some Crop Circles have indeed been hoaxes, the sheer numbers (over 10,000)and intricacies make it impossible for them all to be.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who has even a passing interest in the subject.
