Book Description

This book entails the life of one who has not only become internationally respected as a UFO investigator and author but now as a so-called UFO abductee. It is strikingly different from other works dealing with UFO abductions in that it will provide an overview of the complete life of an abductee from early childhood to sunset years of his life. The exciting descriptions of UFO sightings, investigations and documentation would be worthy of a book themselves. The Chief Scientific Consultant for the USAF UFO Project Bluebook, Astronomer Dr. Hynek is on record as stating: “Raymond Fowler…whose meticulous and detailed investigations …far exceed the investigations of Bluebook.” However, this book is about much more than investigating UFO sightings. Throughout the warp and weft of the author’s UFO and paranormal experiences is the slow but sure realization that he has been investigated since childhood by the very phenomenon he was investigating! ... Book Description

This is the new, revised edition of the far-out book of photographs of the moon, Mars and other planets that made NASA wince and reluctantly offer several public denials. With hundreds of photographs and illustrations, Extraterrestrial Archaeology takes the reader to the strange and fascinating worlds of the moon, Mars, Mercury, Venus, Saturn and other planets for a look at the alien structures that appear there. Using official NASA and Soviet photos, as well as other photos taken via telescope, this book seeks to prove that many of the planets (and moons) of our solar system are in some way inhabited by intelligent life. There are also many blowups of NASA photos and detailed diagrams of structures. Extraterrestrial Archaeology includes: NASA photos of pyramids and domed cities on the moon; Pyramids and giant statues on Mars; Hollow moons of Mars and other planets; Robot mining vehicles that move about the moon processing valuable metals; NASA and Russian photos of space bases on Mars and its moons; A British scientist who discovered a tunnel on the moon, and other "bottomless craters"; Early claims of trips to the moon and Mars; Structural anomalies on Venus, Saturn, Jupiter, Mercury, Uranus and Neptune; NASA, the moon and antigravity; NASA's confirmation of water on the moon; New photos from Russia and the latest face-on-Mars pictures.Extraterrestrial Archaeology is highly illustrated with photos, diagrams and maps! Now in a German language edition, this continues to be the only book widely available on anomalistic structures with UFOs on the moon. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars A little boring
David Hatcher Childress documents some little known facts regarding the planets in our solar system and why there could very well have been life elsewhere besides earth. Largely based on photos taken by NASA and the Russians, Childress attempts to show the reader why he believes there are ruins on the other plants in our solar system. However he gets a little too in-depth which results in the book getting a little boring sometimes. Still a very interesting read.

1-0 out of 5 stars Speculative analysis of planetary images
I could see more artificiality from staring at the surface of a stucco wall. This book presents planetary images taken by the NASA probes over the years. Some speculate that there are some extraterrestrial intelligent activities present, not. I see anomalies of light and shadow and just plain old geological activities.

5-0 out of 5 stars Up-to-date, informative, fascinating reading.
Based on NASA and Russian space photography, as well as other photos and drawings created by telescope viewers, this revised and expanded edition of Extraterrestrial Archaeology provides persuasive evidence and documentation that life exists outside of planet Earth. This up-to-date edition includes all of the latest discoveries on Mars and the Moon, including NASA's recent admission of water on the moon and a Russian analysis of obelisks on the Moon. Also featured are robot mining vehicles that move about the mono; NASA photographs of lunar pyramids and domed cities; the hollow moons of Mars and other planets; NASA and Russian photos of space bases on Mars; a "tunnel" on the Moon and other "bottomless craters"; structural anomalies on Venus and Mercury; plus NASA cover-ups on Moon missions and Mars probes. Challenging, iconoclastic, thought-provoking, and highly recommended reading for students of space exploration and life elsewhere in our Solar System, Extraterrestrial Archaeology is enhanced with large-format photos, maps, and a bibliography for further study and research.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Only Book of Its Kind!
Extraterrestrial Archaeology by Childress is the only book of its kind! It is the only book that I know of that has large format photos of the so-called structures on the Moon. Other books, such as SOMEBODY ELSE IS ON THE MOON by George Leonard or OUR MYSTERIOUS SPACESHIP MOON by Don Wilson are both long out of print. Childress has a run-down, with large illustrations of the various theories and evidence that the Moon is occupied, as well as other planets and moons in our solar system. This book will blow your mind, whether you are a skeptic or a believer!

5-0 out of 5 stars Only large format book on mysteries of the Moon, etc.
As a researcher in the mysteries of our Moon, Mars, Venus, etc., I know of no other book that has the kind of large photos of strange objects on the Moon such as pyramids, obelisks, domes, moving objects, etc. etc. Childress gives us the opertunity to look for ourselves at these "objects" and even get the original photos in some cases! An incredible book! ... Read more

Authors Lawrence Fawcett and Barry J. Greenwood reveal in this fascinating, thought-provoking book, based on the government's own research and internal files, what they have learned about: UFO's as a threat to national security. UFO sightings at military bases in the United States, North Africa, and the Middle East. The cover-up role of the FBI and the CIA. The presidents, legislators, astronauts, military leaders, and international scientific authorities who are on record as in favor of renewed investigation of UFO's. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Hard work and it shows!
Greenwood and Fawcett really put their time into this book. Greenwood began investigating UFOs as a 12 year old boy and has spent thousands of hours and a good deal of money hunting for UFO and allied stories all over the country and the world. In addition, he has been a consultant to numerous journalists and Tv and Film producers. Self-taught, Greenwood is comparable to any scholar in the field. This book should be a part of any serious researcher's library. It is not sensational, but it IS solidly researched! ... Read more

Book Description

One of the major mysteries of our time, it continues to evoke intense public interest but has received scant scientific scrutiny-until now... THE UFO ENIGMA.

For over fifty years, the modern UFO controversy has raged between believers and debunkers, with very little input from the scientific community. The only unclassified, government-sponsored scientific study in the United States was the Colorado Project, which led to the 1967 Condon Report advising the Air Force that further examination of UFOs was useless. Official U.S. investigation came to a grinding halt-while other countries, most notably France, continued with research programs that found dramatic new evidence.

Now, in a major report commissioned by Laurance S. Rockefeller, world-renowned scientists debate the physical evidence in puzzling cases presented by UFO investigators. THE UFO ENIGMA overrides the Condon Report and concludes that there is much we could learn from further study of the phenomenon-if the evidence is carefully collected and scientifically analyzed.

An international panel of scientists grilled UFO researchers and examined dozens of cases including: Paris, 1984: Military radar confirms a commercial airline pilot's report of a gigantic disk, more than a half mile in diameter. Mansfield, Ohio, 1978: Four crew members of an Army Reserve helicopter give vivid accounts of an encounter with an unknown cylindrical object, during which their flight control system malfunctioned. Southern France, 1981: Police and scientific investigators find physical traces in the soil and biochemical changes in vegetation at the location of a reported landing of an ovoid object.Dayton, Texas, 1980: Three witnesses who observe a large, flaming object subsequently suffer debilitating radiation-type injuries.

A report on the conference findings along with supporting case material, THE UFO ENIGMA is not about alleged abductions or government cover-ups, nor about purported hoaxes or "shared illusions." With its focused scope and sober assessment by a distinguished scientific panel, its findings may be even more challenging-and more disturbing-than any of us dared to imagine. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
There is one in every crowd, and I'm it! I started reading this book with an open and positive mind, thinking that it was going to deliver. It doesn't. I didn't finish reading it 'cause I lost interest after a few pages. This book's contents do not deal with ANY physical evidence. The author would have done the scientific and UFO "communities" a greater service if instead of 2 measly photos the WHOLE book would have been about the better photos/films/videos that exist. The information provided throughout the book is outdated (Condon Report!) and of little interest to those who want to see "good" photos put through the process. The book MAY be of value as reference but not for general reading especially since they don't seem to be aware that Kenneth Arnold's chevron-shaped craft resemble the Horten Brothers Nazi craft. In my 43 years as a UFO-enthusiast, field investigator, and UFO magazine editor, I could come up with a hell of lot more interesting material such as Dorothy Izatt's very strange photos and films, NASA footage of something hauling over the Moon and the stuff from the Shuttle, plus they had a good chance to do something with "Billy" Meier's so-far good films (and some of his photos also wouldn't have hurt). The reproduction of most of the photos was pixel-poor. And just how is the scientific community "hurt" by UFO reports? Scientists don't go afield to interview anyone seeing UFOs. And I'm tired of astronomers being brought up as authorities who should be seeing UFOs. Quite the contrary. This got good press 'cause of the author's name and the promise on the cover of more than it delivers. It had some aggravating reading problems such as the author's name on every page top, and the book's title on the other page top instead of just the book title on the left and the chapters on the right. It's frustrating to have to constantly go to the CONTENTS page to see where one is at. Anyone wanting to e-mail me to discuss other things is welcome.

4-0 out of 5 stars Commendable but omits valuable research
Until western scientists include the oral wisdom passed down through the ages of indigenous people, our picture of truth will remain incomplete. An excellent book, well worth reading, it nonetheless continues a grave omission about "the people who came before" or the "star people" well known to indigenous "scholars."

4-0 out of 5 stars Great read
Finally something intensive to read about the scientific evidence of UFO's. I have always wondered why no one seemed to explain the whos, whats, hows and whys of an investigation, just reports of what events took place. It was refreshing to see the extent of the case reviews. The only problem was the terrible low resolution black and white pictures. Surely some color for these type of reproductions would have left me more impressed.

5-0 out of 5 stars Dard Data on UFOs
Professor Peter Sturrock has done an excellent job in detailing hard scientific evidence that supports the existence of UFOs. Most of the material is derived from a meeting of scientists, both UFO supporters and skeptics, in which the evidence was presented in an even-handed manner. Sturrock's approach is equally even-handed and thoughtful, something sorely missing from most UFO diatribes.

This book is a welcome addition to the field and should be read by anyone interested in facts instead of hyperbolie so common to the field. The case studies in the last segment will make any open-minded person take note. The book is highly recommended for anyone interested in the serious study of aerial phenomena. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money
This is the only book I've read on this subject and it HAS to be the worst. It's laughable .... probably even worse than Casebook on the Men in Black (according to those reviews).
If you can actually believe stories about rays shooting out of men's eyes and there eyes turning different colors etc. then go ahead and buy it.
It is a piece of junk, from the ridiculous cover art to the absurd stories inside it.
Too bad such a piece of garbage was written on a truly fascinating subject ... I'd recommend John Keel over this idiot.

5-0 out of 5 stars The MIBs are no mystery...

5-0 out of 5 stars Good overview
Covers most of the popular cases between 1947 and the present. Has lots of corroborating quotations from government and scientific personnel of various governments. This book belongs on everyone's bookshelf.

5-0 out of 5 stars A must for all UFO researchers
Concise collection of some of the most important UFO events of the last 50 years. You won't need to dig through tons of other books to find this material. Also, I highly recommend UFO Report and Alien Update by Timothy Good; all of these books contain the best reported cases of unexplained phenomena.

4-0 out of 5 stars A good start for the uninitiated...
If you are just starting into UFOlogy, this is a great book to pick up, covering the most basic of these paranormal events. Well laid out, and easy to understand. Not much for advanced UFO students except as a pocket reference guide.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice introduction to some of the more intriguing encounters
While there are no earth-shattering revelations presented in this work, it does cover some of the most interesting and unexplainable encounters in the modern history of ufo phenomena. Fortunately, the author minimizes personal conjecture and relays facts surrounding the incidents. The book's title led me to believe that it was connected to the recent document compiled and presented to major governments and world leaders. However, while that document is mentioned in passing, there is apparently no connection. I don't believe there is anything here for the avid UFO enthusiast or researcher, but it is a well-presented work for the uninitiated without the "way out there" conjecture common to so many books on this subject.

3-0 out of 5 stars Old News to Ufologists...
There's nothing within this book that will surprise you if you are an avid Ufologist. However, as I am always appreciative of a valid treatment of the subject, I would recommend this to those looking for a credible overview of government dealings with UFOs. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Eerie!!!
I love to read Timothy Green Beckley's books late at night, and that goes especially for this one. Each story gets better than the last one! He is one of the most underrated authors of our time.Mr. Beckley ranks right up there with John Keel, and Brad Steiger. His stories about UFO's and their occupants always run chills up my spine! He is one of the few investigators that visits the scene(s) and knows how to report it in a way that that is truly classic. I would love to see him write movie scripts for Science Fiction!

5-0 out of 5 stars A TRIP THROUGH THE COSMOS
ARE FLYING SAUCERS ON THE ATTACK? I have been interested in the UFO mystery for about twenty years after I had a sighting of my own of three disc shaped objects manovering in the sky above me. Outside of Brad Steiger -- who hasnt written a lot on the subject lately -- my favorite UFO authority has to be Tim Beckley (who edited the popular publication UFO UNIVERSE for l2 years and now edits the Conspiracy Journal on the www).Beckley's works are often thought of being sensationalistic by some of the more conservative members of the UFO community who think its scientific to try and track down lights in the sky...while Beckley is more interested in the weird things UFOs do and who might be on board. Here are some of the strangest stories ever written on UFOs; but TGB does offer some fairly good documentation that these are not hot air balloons. In particular, I liked the story of the giant UFOnauts seen in Brazil; and for those who are familiar with the fact that UFOs have a strange effect on our sources of power, there is able evidence that they might have even caused the massive power blackout along in the East Coast back in the 60s. He even prints several photos taken at the time the lights went out. This is a good read for anyone into the subject.

5-0 out of 5 stars STRANGER THAN FICTION -- AND A LOT MORE EXCITING
IF YOUR INTERESTED IN TALES OF ALIEN BEINGS SEEN ON EARTH then this is definitely the book for you!I have been collecing and reading up on UFOs since the days of Keyhoe and Adamski. I've even had a few off beat experiences of my own, but nothing can compare to the accounts Beckley has collected over this more than three decades of interview UFO witnesses. Here are stories the average reader will find hard to believeif you have a bit of skepticism about yourself. The first account in the book -- dubbed the Stranges UFO Case of All Time -- is really fascinating. Its like the two girls who experiences these weird phenomena were traveling THROUGH TIME.UFOs and strange beings seemingly followed them as they drove down a darkened highway through several states...thinking they were loosing their minds. Then there is the vegitable man who attacked a good old boy from West Virginia and left him utterly senseless...and the three women from Kentucky who found the automobile they were driving in actually levitating into the air into a giant circular mothership. This is a book you wont put down until you have read every last account..Oh yeah, there are the shadow beings to contend with and the crawling lights in Oregon that chased an entire family out of their home into the dead of night.Nothing like most other UFO books -- there isnt a boring encounter in here...that I can guarantee! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars The Long, Strange Journey to "Magonia"
Forgive me if I gush, but Jacques Vallee is my all time favorite "ufologist." His book REVELATIONS helped to see that there was a real mystery to the phenomenon and that there were those like himself who deplored the abuse of hypnosis in the service of "abduction research" and the fascination with "crashed saucer" tales and government conspiracies.

This book takes us to his beginnings. Starting in the late 1950s, just before the ascendancy of De Gaulle and the establishment of the Fifth Republic, when he is an astronomy student and aspiring Science Fiction writer and ends in the immediate aftermath of the publication of PASSPORT TO MAGONIA. Along the way we have a first hand account of the "ufo controversy in america" and elsewhere. Additionally, there are reflections on a convention-bound France, where Vallee has to struggle against senior astronomers serene indifference to computers. Reflection on the US: like de Tocqueville, young Vallee looks upon this country with a mixture of admiration and horror. Here and there, there are insights into the looming computer revolution that would explode in the 1970's and 1980's. Vallee is in France in 1968 and records his take on the student uprising of May and June.

And then of course, there are the accounts of love. Like the entry where Vallee writes that he and his lover have just torn the bed and now he lies in the full flush of "jouissance" thinking "why do i need a vow, when I can still taste in on my lips" (DAMN! Those french know how to live!)

Yes there's a lot to get out of this book than just UFO's. But that is the main topic. We see the defining moment for Vallee when he tracks an anomalous object only to have the senior astronomer summarily tear up the print out. We see Vallee's burgeoning fascination with the subject and his passion that science find an explanation, first corresponding with Aime Michel, then making contact with J.Allen Hynek, Project Blue Book's consultant and at the time still a "skeptic."

The insight into Hynek is probably the most important part of the book. We see the role that Vallee plays in encouraging Hynek to admit that there are unexplained cases. Vallee is there when Hynek gets new of the "Soccoro landing" and sees Hynek in the aftermath of the "marsh gas" fiasco. Vallee's admiration for Hynek is obviousk, but there are also other detail. Hynek's love of the limelight and his pride at having little fringe benefits from the air force like his own jeep and driver. We find out that Hynek was an Anthroposophist (a disciple of Rudolf Steiner) and we see him at his most gullible when he brings back "film proof" of psychic surgery (Vallee & Co. are less than impressed).

Besides Hynek, there is correspondence with John Keel in the full grip of paranoia while dealing with strange happenings in the Ohio River Valley, a brief in encounter with Al Bielek (he of future "montauk project" fame) trying to pass himself off as a government spook, an account of origin, trouble history, and anticlimatic ending of the Condon Committee. But most importantly is the "paradigm shift" that Vallee undergoes as a result of studying the phenomenon from a cautious advocate of the Extraterrestrial Hypothesis (EHT) to a proponent of thinking in terms of Extra-Dimensional Entities and paying close attention to Psycho-Social factors and parallels with folklore and mythology and the backlash he suffers (and continues to suffer) from the "believers" who make up the rank and file of the UFO subculture.

As an added bonus the paperback edition includes the text of the "Pentacle Memorandum" written at the time of the Robertson Committee.

In sum, a first hand history of the UFO phenomenon in the 1960's. When read in conjunction with Jim Moseley's SHOCKINGLY CLOSE TO THE TRUTH and Patrick Huyghe's SWAMP GAS TIMES one can get a very full picture of "UFO history" of the last 50 years.

4-0 out of 5 stars Serious stuff
Jacques Vallee is a respected scientist and an entertaining writer who just happens to be interested in UFO's. His concepts of the 'why' are illuminating, as is his frustration at the handling of the issue by those on all sides.

If you are interested in whats "out there" read and learn. If you on the other hand scoff at all mentions of aliens and such, and consider man to be the center and grandest part of the universe, read this man's books with an open mind and you might begin to doubt some long held beliefs. Vallee is quick to dismiss frauds and charlatians, and focus on the real issues. Arresting stuff.

5-0 out of 5 stars Really Interesting
This is my favorite journal since reading "Walden" by Henry David Thoreau.

Jacques Vallee is a legend in Ufology (study of unidentified flying objects). More than that, he's a true scientist, which is a rarity in "the field". This book takes you through some pivotal moments in UFO history.

You'll learn a lot in this book, not just UFOs, but the meaning of science itself.

Certainly an essential book for anyone studying UFOs... or the possibility of alien life. (Are we alone in the universe?)

On a side note, this books is pricless for all the little tidbits and reflections on Allen Hynek, "The Galileo of Ufology".

5-0 out of 5 stars The Gift
This is a very original crop circle book! Written in a time that the crop pictograms mainly consisted of circles, rings and bars, Ruby interpreted the symbols as templates for threedimensional models, which he constructed from plywood and which are extensively shown in this book. Instinctively, I feel like the author made a good guess, and may very well have discovered something 'real'. Unfortunately, some of his interpretations of the models he created are highly speculative, too fantastic, and way over the edge of our concept of natural laws (for example, the way he describes a sort of anti-gravity engine, the design of which is allegedly hidden in a number of pictograms). It is all right to jump over the edge of traditional science, but you should do it with care and with good reason. The author's explanations simply don't make sense at all at some places.
What I liked about this book is the author's dedication and enthusiasm, which is clearly felt on every single page (perhaps this is also the reason that the book is very well and nicely made). All in all I recommend this book to anyone interested in the crop circle phenomenon - perhaps not as the first book to read, but definitely not to miss. (Eltjo Haselhoff is the author of "The Deepening Complexity of Crop Circles, Scientific Research & Urban Legends", Frog Ltd., 2001-2002.)

4-0 out of 5 stars Intriguing and original.
The Gift is a thought-provoking examination of the phenomenon of "crop circles" (glyphs or pictograms). By employing a novel and creative approach to understanding these images (derived from "common sense and intuition"), Ruby extrapolates from the two-dimensional glyphs three-dimensional models, with eye-popping results. Ruby concludes from his research that the pictograms originate from extraterrestrial entities. He believes the sequence of the appearance of these images are building blocks to man's understanding of messages. These messages have begun with a description of UFO's physical structure and propulsion systems. These glyphs provide ever-more information as they progress in complexity.
Whether Ruby's "decoding" is correct or not, it is facile to dismiss the reality of a true mystery. It is certainly correct that many of these "circles" are hoaxes. There was even a "crop circle making" competition in England. However, research by scientists like Charles Levengood and Nancy Talbott have shown empirically that "real" crop circles show changes at the cellular level (which can be replicated by short, intense bursts of microwave energy). There is also no breakage of the stalks of the plants, only bending. This cannot be done by hoaxers. Aside from that, the notion that two English geezers and copycats are creating thousands of such glyphs worldwide, showing complex fractal geometry patterns, and leaving no trace of their presence, is ridiculous. The recent (Aug.01) Chilbolton, England glyphs will sorely test the hoax hypothesis. Carl Sagan offered his biased, mechanistic view, conveniently ignoring that which did not fit; Jim Schnabel ('Dark White')seems to be more of a debunker than an open-minded skeptic. Both provide a convenient out for those who prefer their ordered and safe world view. If you aren't afraid to consider other possibilities, however, this work will deliver.

4-0 out of 5 stars Alternative Viewpoints
I heartily recommend this interesting book, which presents a refreshingly different perspective. As for the reviewer promoting Jim Schnabel's 'Round in Circles' as a solution to the mystery, it would be foolish indeed to jump to the conclusion that a known CIA agent is going to present the public with unadorned facts, given that government disinformation on this subject, media manipulation, and the 'Firm's role in it, is already well documented.

1-0 out of 5 stars Our Allegiance to What? A Hoax?
The previous reviewer says (in rather poor grammar) that anyone who questions the "reality" of this nonsense should have their "allegiance" questioned. Well, I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and recommend you check out Jim Schnabel's "Round in Circles" before you waste any more of your hard-earned dough on this or any other book extolling the "reality" of crop circles!

5-0 out of 5 stars Debunk the debunkers
Whoever assault this book and the whole subject of extra-terrestrial life ought to be investigated for their allegiance. This is an excellent documentary on crop circles and only Time Magazine has enough clout to falsify the truth and make it stick. In the mind of the simple minded that is. ... Read more

In 1966, a writer asked FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover for some information about UFOs. Hoover replied that "the investigation of unidentified flying objects is not, and never has been, a matter within the investigative jurisdiction of the FBI."

Hoover lied.

The information revealed in this book (for the first time anywhere) is nothing less than shocking.

In this amazing work of scholarship and research, Dr. Maccabee reveals the lies and deceit, the foolishness and the egos that have prevented you from having this simple truth. It shows that throughout the contradictions, lies and misrepresentations put forth by the government, they have known the truth: something or someone is out there. 4-0 out of 5 stars Bruce Maccabee is a legitimate UFOlogist
When trying to choose a book about UFOs, you may not know how to avoid the flaky ones. This is a thoroughly researched and well written book, and a must-read for anyone beyond the initial stages of reading on UFOs. Bruce Maccabee is a solid, methodical investigator with years of background in UFO studies.

This book is not about abductions; it does not engage in any far out speculation. It is about evidence of government agencies' involvement of UFO matters over several decades--evidence gathered straight out of government files, mostly from FBI and Air Force Intelligence files, but also from the files of other agencies.

3-0 out of 5 stars They know more than they are telling us
The facts are all there - the point made - the authorities have known for a long time. Yet more compounding evidence that we should all be aware of - UFO's are real, they are here and Bruce takes us through the evidence rather convincingly. Read it

2-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed Again
I suppose that I expected more interesting data in this book by Mr. MacCabee and although we read about good sightings by credible people and letters by F.B.I. and the Air Force, they are not that "one" we are looking for. In a nutshell, Bruce relates many of the events that happened during the 50's and 60's, tells of the "Blue Book" organization , the "Sign" and "Grudge" groups set up to investigate the UFO reports but after reading the book one thing stands out: The men in charge knew that the UFOs were not from any place on Earth and could only be from Outer Space but the Air Force whose job it was and is to protect us from all aerial forces...would NOT accept this solution.

It seems that a "think tank" advised the United States Government several years ago to never admit that the UFOs were from another world, so that seems to be the way it will be... untill an Alien spacecraft lands on the White House.

5-0 out of 5 stars Well written, provocative, gripping
Provides plenty of much-needed background material (especially helpful for us rookies), plus lots of smoking-gun stuff.

A riveting read. Highly recommend.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very Informative
I found this book to be informatively thorough, yet tedious and repetitive in quite a few areas. This point-reinforcement method was useful, but could have been delivered in a more interesting way than simply repeating text. The incidents described are fascinating, and keep the reader absorbed. The documentation (or lack of due to ensuing chains of events) will astound the reader. The author's bibliographical references are somewhat impressive, but I felt a few key resources (such as The Day after Roswell were omitted. UFO-FBI Connection is not an "easy-read"; there are many names to keep track of, as they recur in later chapters, and Mr. Maccabee gets rather technical in some discussions. (He does, however, provide a nice little appendix of acronyms used in the book, which is nice, except some are merely abbreviations --- NOT acronyms). The author's obsession with the television program The X-Files is unnecessarily displayed throughout the book. (Personally, I have never seen the show, as I strive to deal with reality.) Still, UFO-FBI Connection has its place in this ever-investigative phenomenon, but perhaps a primer such as UFOs Are Real: Here's the Proof (the author's first book) would serve well. ... Read more

Book Description

Mothman and Other Curious Encounters is an intriguing look at the legend behind The Mothman Prophecies, the new motion picture featuring Richard Gere, Debra Messing, Will Patton and Laura Linney.

A new Hollywood blockbuster, an amazing companion documentary, and thousands of web pages in its honor--what's all the fuss about? In a word--Mothman!

On November 15, 1966, this huge, red-eyed creature with wings appeared over Point Pleasant, West Virginia. Thus began thirteen months of otherworldly mystery, madness, and mayhem for the people of Point Pleasant, culminating in the collapse of the Silver Bridge, which left 46 dead.

But contrary to popular belief, Mothman is not unique. Here for the first time, investigator Loren Coleman looks at the precursors of Mothman, like the Flatwoods Monster of 1952, then brings the story up to date, detailing the sightings of the spawn of Mothman, some as recent as November 2001. Coleman also examines the impact on investigations into the unknown by John Keel, the newsman who spend a year in Point Pleasant looking into the Mothman story and lived to write about it.

MOTHMAN AND OTHER CURIOUS ENCOUNTERS is certain to jolt your placid preconceived notion of the nature of the physical universe. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Hot stuff if you like Fortean mysteries and spookiness
This is a great book, because it brings Fortean themes and general spooky fireside tales together with serious investigations and cryptozoology. Indeed, Coleman has given us a peek at what can happen when cryptozoology gets stranger than usual. He first provides a good introduction to Mothman, the red-eyed flying entity reportedly seen in rural America and now the subject of a major motion picture. Coleman also pays fiting tribute to infamous Mothman investigator John Keel and his explainations for unexpalined phenomena. Finally, Coleman takes time to offer some of his own ideas and the ideas of his fellow researches. He neatly ties up loose ends by offer the reader folk tales and myths relating to many of the creatures documented in the book's pages.

Besides Mothman, Coleman yields an impressive amount of information concerning Thunderbirds and other winged creatures that people claim to encounter in the modern world. And if that wasn't enough for you hard-core monster buff: Coleman also discusses various other alleged unknowns. These inlcude sightings of reptoids, goat suckers, black dogs, the Flatwoods Monster, and even a three-toed beast lurking in New Orleans.

Coleman's cryptozoological hypothesis about what may be behind some creature sightings are most interesting. If you liked Coleman's, Mysterious America, you will love this book.

4-0 out of 5 stars Mothman, Thunderbirds, et al
Being a fan of Loren Coleman's style of writing, I awaited his newest book with a sense of wonder and expectations. The wonder was how he was going to document the phenomenon of Mothman beyond what John Keel had already dealt with in his book The Mothman Prophecies. The expectations were simply that more than just Mothman would be dealt with, but that other unusual creatures that defy easy classification, such as Momo, Thunderbirds and Lizardmen would be evaluation. With the arrival of Coleman's book the wonder and expectations were answered, and more than fulfilled.

Coleman deals naturally with Mothman, its history and legacy. But, beyond the limiting scope of Mothman, the reader is shown the other phenomenons that run the border between Cryptozoology, Fortean Studies and the moniker of UFOology and the Paranormal. One is taken to the winged mysteries of the Thunderbird in North America, the odd and culturally rich history of the Chupacabra and the legacy of phantom trains, to name but a few of the topics covered.
Perhaps the real gem in the book though is the dealing with the Mothman and its legacy over the years, which in 2002 will be brought forth even more with the release of the movie The Mothman Prophecies. The reader is shown what John Keel did in the 1960's in Point Pleasant, West Virginia by looking at the phenomenon of Mothman culturally and anthropologically. The circumstances and related occurrences of the time put the entire situation into a cultural and evidentiary guide.
That is the hidden subtext to the book, that although these creatures do not necessarily fit into any one neat category, they all have basis in the history of the areas. They fall into mixed arenas and hence are often waylaid and overlooked by mystery historians or classified according to a particular theory. Even within the text of the book the creatures, entities, beings, or whatever you choose to call them, are not necessarily categorized, rather they are looked at for what they are and chronicled in true Fortean style.
One can choose to nit-pick certain areas of the book, and some are easier than others to do this too. But, remembering the above commentary about chronicling versus categorizing, these criticisms are really without merit. This reviewer has in the past been critical of the placement of Merbeings in the context of unknown primates, for example. Yet, even though they are dealt with in the book, they are dealt with as a manner of chronicling. Even the mention of UFO's and stereotypical paranormal events may toss a cold hand to some readers that are looking for a true Cryptozoological evaluation of the subject, yet that is not what this tome is about, and one should not progress in reading the work believing it is strictly a Cryptozoological book, or any other type of book. The one criticism that this reviewer will make though is that the book bogs down a little when concepts of date coincidences are looked at, these areas are dry and may cause the reader to loose interest even though they are a fascinating piece of Fortean information.

The best example of classification of Coleman's book is that it is an extension of the style and content produced in his 2001 book Mysterious America: the Revised Edition (also by Paraview Press). Reader's familiar with Jerome Clark's Unexplained! (2nd Edition, Visible Ink Press, Farmington Hills, 1999) will find Coleman's book of interest as it goes beyond strictly and encyclopedic look at the subject, but contains similar content as Clark's work. Perhaps the best analogy to another work though would be the more obscure work by D. Scott Rogo and Jerome Clark, Earth's Secret Inhabitants (Tempo Books, New York, 1979). The style's are different between Rogo/Clark's and Coleman's book, and the content is different, but both look at the unusual accounts of many creatures that defy classification.

The reader of Mothman and Other Curious Encounters is bound to be left with a feeling that more is out there then they may be aware of. More exists in a Fortean world than we would think, and perhaps the reader will take a look for themselves and play some "name games" and date comparisons of events. The reader is taken to the world of the unusual, and brought safely back to the comfort of home, but the essence of the unusual will linger, the wonder will not be abated.

Coleman, himself, sums up the work as:

"Indeed, I find myself still considering possible cryptozoological answers for Mothman, while at the same time appreciating what Keel did. Some of my friends who read this book will think I have gone to the "dark side" by merely allowing myself to think about Mothman, let alone researching Keel and his radical ideas. You see, I am a Fortean, and in a very strange way, Point Pleasant all makes sense to me. Mothman's time has come. Mothman lives. The events wrapped in the riddle called Mothman has focused so many mysteries in one place. We are not able to ignore it, any longer, even if we don't have all the answers yet."

So come along and experience Mothman, Bigfoot, Batsquatch, Owlman, Lizardmen, Momo, the Honey Island Swamp Monster, Thunderbirds, Hell Hounds, Banshees and the other kin of Mothman, essential "Loren's Paradigm." The journey is worth the cost, you won't soon forget it.

4-0 out of 5 stars A good read, but little new to offer.
This book, a follow-up to Mysterious America by cryptozoologist Loren Coleman, is basically a compendium of reports, anecdotes and myths dealing with strange creatures.
Apparently published to capitalize on the film 'The Mothman Prophecies' (the back of the book displays a prominent ad for the film), this book is a fun read, great for a rainy evening. And, for those unfamiliar with such Fortean phenomena as Mothman, The Flatwoods Monster, thunderbirds and other such critters, this is a good overview. However, for those who have read John Keel's Mothman Prophecies, Our Haunted Planet or Strange Creatures from Time and Space, or who are familiar with the books of the late Charles Fort (namesake of the word Fortean), there is little new to be found here.

Within the book's 200 pages are nine chapters, two appendices and a section on 'Mothman bibliography and other resources' (did you know you could order an "action Mothman figure"?). The chapters aggregate 'types' of creatures, such as 'Winged Weirdies', 'Mothman' and 'Lizardmen'. And, given the influence of John Keel's work on Coleman, one chapter is even called 'Keel's Children'. In fact, this book arguably should have been sub-subtitled 'An Homage to John Keel'. One whole appendix is a direct re-print of reported Mothman sightings lifted from Keel's Strange Creatures from Time and Space. Without Keel's contributions, this would likely have been a pretty slim volume indeed.

As mentioned, this is an entertaining way to spend a few hours, not requiring much in the way of deep thinking. The style of the book is breezy and engaging, although it could have benefited from better proofreading (the late ufologist Gray Barker was sometimes referred to as Gray, other times as 'Gary'). For those who are interested in a solid introduction to the arcane field of 'cryptozoology', this is a great place to start, and for those who are generally familiar with the material, this is a good refresher. It's certainly worth the modest price.

5-0 out of 5 stars Don't believe reviewers or
This book owes nothing to other books and it was written before the movie came out. Read it yourself to see.
It has been updated in a third edition after new events happened in Point Pleasant. This all really does make this book unique among those few available on Mothman.
This book is full of new material that the eyewitnesses shared with only this author. But buy them all.

1-0 out of 5 stars Well Published, but Mistake-filled
The publisher of this book is to be commended, but the resercher is to be laughed at. The Jersey Devil had some interesting reading, but the Mothman section was nothing but rehash from books that preceded this one, such as The Mothman Prophecies by John Keel and MOTHMAN: The Facts Behind The Legend by Donnie Sergent Jr and Jeff Wamsley. I found several mistakes in the factual information concerning the Mothman research. Please do not buy this book with the expectations of getting the facts. It is a decent read for pure entertainment, but the factual mistakes are inexcusable. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Good Science Fiction, or Truth?
How does one write a review without sounding too judgemental? I found the book a fascinating read, but I noticed right away that Dr. Brown violated remote viewing protocol by not using a monitor, (an unbiased, unknowing observer). You do not go remote viewing by yourself. What's the difference between that and me dreaming? Maybe I should write a book! Courtney Brown presents plausible information which might not be available by any other other source, but the reader is left wondering how much, if any of this might be true? Where is the proof? In the book, Dr. Brown stated that aliens would announce themselves to the world in a public way in Santa Fe, NM in late 1998. It's 1999 and there's been no announcement so far. We hear so many different versions of the alien invasion story that we can no longer discern what information is valid and which is not. It would be nice if Courtney's information were validated by other remote viewers using scientific protocol, but so far as I'm aware, only a small portion of it has been.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fact or fiction? The fact is this is entertaining fiction...
In 1996 a book called "Psychic Warrior", by David Morehouse, was published. This book exposed an alleged program within the CIA called "Stargate". The purpose of this program was to use psychics as spies via remote viewing, an ability where an individual travels across the barriers of time and space with their mind and gathers information. The story was startling, memorable, and quite believable as well.

In "Cosmic Voyage" Courtney Brown attempts to use his own remote viewing abilities to expose startling secrets and solve age-old mysteries, ranging from the origins of man on Earth, to speaking with Jesus Christ himself, to revealing the Secret of Life! Of course, there are plenty of alien tidbits in between.

These alien tidbits are what made me read this book in the first place, and they are probably the most believable part of this book. I have studied the alien abduction phenomenon for many years and read almost every book on the subject. The amazing thing about this phenomenon is that many of the books on the subject draw striking similarities with each other, almost like a puzzle; Cosmic Voyage seems to fill in some of the missing pieces. While it is certainly entertaining to think that Brown might be using actual psychic abilities and that the revelations in this book are true, there is no proof whatsoever to show that the author didn't just use the less-than-mystical abilities of plagiarism and imagination to fill the pages of this book. It is the aforementioned "Psychic Warrior" novel that gives me a glimmer of hope that this book might actually be true, at least in some parts.

Whether this book is actually true or not doesn't keep it from being an enjoyable read. It is a welcome relief from the all-too-standard alien abduction cases that reveal no information at all about the aliens themselves aside from vague physical descriptions. If this book is indeed fiction, Brown certainly thought up some very creative vignettes that make the reader think a little (I especially like his take on Mars - very smart, which makes it very believable).

Much like a doctor or police officer will enjoy a respective medical or crime drama, a ufologist will find "Cosmic Voyage" a breath of fresh air. It is a refreshing break from the same-old same-old, and it may even provide a new sense of inspiration. I look forward to reading Brown's sequel to this book. Highly recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars Long, but compelling
How can a writer write so compellingly, I hesitate to ask? Well, Brown has indeed. This book, a mystical insight in to the world of remote viewing and the two parrallel worlds relating to Earth gave me deep admiration for a writer who, undoubtedly, may worry about whether people may not always take him seriously. If you just want to know more about parrallel worlds, or you feel strongly on these subjects, boy, you'd love this book. 5 stars, and Dr. Brown, you deserve it.

5-0 out of 5 stars VERY Interesting ...
__Having investigated the concept of Remote Viewing for some time now, I have come to the conclusion that there is a 95% probability that it is a legitimate method of procuring accurate information. As the book states, it is repeatable. I myself have bought the Mindazzle kit and have confirmed (to a lesser degree) the fact that accurate information is obtainable about something which cannot be seen otherwise.
__The information presented in this book is fairly consistent with info from other sources (I do not consider channeling to be a source - it is not trustworthy at all). But, it goes far beyond other info in its scope. Perhaps the only drawback to the book is that it covers huge topics and doesn't spend enough effort to cover them in-depth (the book is 396 pages, so this should tell you something). He takes on subjects that other R.V.'s won't talk about.
__Let us assume for the sake of argument that R.V. is legitimate and that Mr. Brown is providing accurate info in this book. Humanity is about to experience more things to 'wake us up', on top of the wtc tragedy. Further, there is a huge need for individuals to obtain the abilities displayed here so that we, as earth humans, can make a much needed transition to galactic citizenship in a structured and controlled manner.
__This book is the most interesting and enthralling book I've read this year (and that includes many, many books). I recommend it wholeheartedly to all who are not stuck in the unconcious universe paradigm. If you are stuck, your awakening is probably right around the corner, and the shock will be great.

3-0 out of 5 stars Mute evidence
Linda Moulton Howe was SW America-area reporter when the cattle-mutilation craze hit. Occurring over the period of 10 years beginning with the end of the war in Vietnam and petering out by Reagan's 2nd term, the cattle-mutilation epidemic filled the news media with reports of mysteriously killed and mutilated cattle. Not only was the prairies dotted with dead cows, but certain parts had been removed with allegedly artificial preceision, while the blood was either gone or mysteriously diluted. Who (or what) was behind the killing/mutilations, and just why they were dotting the SW with cut-up carcasses (and whether these deaths and the mutilations themselves weren't really the work of normal predators whose handiwork was distorted by mass media and mass hysteria) are just a the basic mysteries underlying the craze. The three prime suspects for the epidemic (again, assuming that there was an epidemic to be caused) were the government (your friendly military-industrial complex, working day and night on cutting-edge bio-warfare technology; today we'd say it was corporate-level conspiracy), satanists (they're devious and dark, but can't afford their own cattle) and aliens (they've come 10 billion light years to experiment on us, but always forget to clean up their trash!). Linda Moulton Howe falls into that group that's chosen the latter. Now I'm not going to try and debunk the idea of intelligent extra-terrestrial life visiting Earth, or even joke about how oxymoronic it is for intelligent life to visit Earth, but I can never get past the cheat that underlies any ties between UFO theory and just about anything else here on Earth - it's a cheat because it's too easy! Since aliens are, by definition, unknown to us, they're vague, amorphous, and can suit any theory. (They're experimenting on cows to prepare bio-waepons against us; they're preparing new technology to help us; they're conspiring with the government; they work in secret to avoid the government.) UFO's are easy culprits once the process of elimination has removed any plausible motive or opportunity that links the offense to humans. UFO's may sell more papers, but most of those are tabloids; if somebody could tie the phenomenon to a big corporate perp like Dow, and especially in these post-ENRon days, that would totally beat anything the UFO-conspiracy theorists could think up. The usual explanations seem a tad to convenient: cows are being experimented on because their physiologies are so close to our own - but the same could be said for rodents and other small animals used in testing everything from pharmaceuticals and cosmetics to bio-warfare. Also, there's no explanation for why the animals are left out in the open by these advanced aliens. That's not only sloppy but - should the aliens decide to remove other animals form the same herd - a guarantee that the newer harvested cows could be contaminated by exposure to cows already experimented on.

There's nothing particularly wrong "Alien Harvest" that isn't wrong with similar work - it's compelling, but again relies on that same willingness to summarily accept theories that aren't solidly established and then jump to aliens as the only reasonable cause. The story conspicuously lacks objectivity, with the authors having little question of their beliefs. Instead of "Harvest", I'd recommend "Mute Evidence" by Kagan & Summer, a comprehensive survey and investigation of both the mutilation craze and the sub-culture it spawned. "Evidence" actually details Moulton Howe's ascension to the UFO community, and manages to avoid the expected condescension when detailing why it remains on the fringe.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Disturbing Look At A Grim and Baffing Topic
Linda Moulton Howe has courageously persisted in a topic that has been ignored by the mainstream press. Her personal interviews, documentation, photographs, and personal experiences all qualify her as one of the premier UFO investigators in the world. Like her co-author, Jaques Vallee, she is a visonary in a field dominated by crackpots and willfully ignorant skeptics.

Read this book and you'll never feel quite the same driving in the American West by night. If even one percent of her allegations are true (and her witnesses in the main seem pretty reliable) we have something very troubling happening right beneath our noses.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Thought Provoking
After ordering and reading ALL of Linda's books, I have to say that anyone who reads, and really READS, and discounts all of the accounts of other realities happening all around us, has their head in the sand.

I find her books informative, very scientifically researched, and well written.

Like Linda, I had my 'grounding' in physical sciences, UNTIL my eyes were opened. It seems that now, I tend to read all I can get my hands on, about things NOT neven mentioned on the 'news'. I have tossed out newspaper and television news, because of their narrow point of view, and perhaps, control by God only knows who.

I recommend any or ALL of her work , as being at the very least VERY thought provoking !

5-0 out of 5 stars Essential reading for Human Beings...
I am done with volume 1 and volume 2; now about 1/3 through volume 3 of Linda Moulton Howe's encyclopedic alien tomes. I have to say at this point, not only does a HUGE amount of it parallel in "anecdotal" and documentary evidence (as well as SOME "hard" evidence) what the Cassiopaean's have been saying, but what the C's have been telling about "inside info" and "motives" and so forth provides a HUGE key to understanding the confusing elements that Linda MH has collected and made no real attempts to sort and explain, admitting that it is almost impossible considering the proven abilities of the beings to completely screen and manipulate our thinking processes.

But, we can't just take the words of ANY of these beings at face value, not even the C's. Somehow, there has to be a way to the center of the maze and back out again.

Yes, what the Cassiopaean's say DOES tend to be confirmed by this amazing and thorough research... yes, it does SEEM to make sense of it ... BUT, could it be more of the "mind manipulation" ? And, if so, is it due to just simple "overlay" of mental controls, or actual "time travel" to "set things up" so that the information SEEMS to be confirmed????

And, on the other hand, if it is due to time travel manipulations of history and so forth, then the picture is still somewhat bleak - only we have a couple of things that may be in our favor... the STS tendency to take the path of least resistance and "laziness," and the "wishful thinking."

Now, if any of you decide to get these books, let me warn you that they are FULL of photographs that are pretty grim and disturbing. They are also full of photos of actual military documents released through the FOIA and others that were obtained by other less standard means. There are complete transcripts of interviews and a few "hypnosis sessions," and so forth.

Colin Wilson wrote the forward, in which he says: "I have never read a book that excited such a powerful series of reactions in me. Again and again, I found myself thinking: 'If this is true, then we are all asleep. Something tremendous is going on, something that is going to affect every human being on this planet sooner or later, and we still go on living as if we were in the comfortable security of the Victorian age.'

"The question that keeps returning to me is: Why, if all of this is true - or only half true - can so many people ignore it? Why have skeptics such as writere Philip Klass and the late astronomer Carl Sagan asserted that UFO's are some kind of hysterical delusion?

"The answer to that question, I have concluded, is that we all need a sense of security, the feeling that we can get on with our lives without too much anxiety. So, we tend to ignore things that do not immediately affect us.

"If you take these cases individually, each one can be subjected to skeptical analysis and, if not dismissed, at least reduced to a minus on the credibility scale. [...] But once the total picture is grasped, it is overwhelming. Nitpicking criticism leaves it unaffected. And that total picture tells us that something very strange is going on, and very important. [...] "There are certain things that I find very hard to accept. For example, the notion that the aliens can travel backwards in time. It has always seemed to me that time travel is an impossibility. It would involve obvious paradoxes... "Like Linda Moulton Howe, Jacques Vallee and John Keel and everyone else who has studied the UFO phenomenon, I find myself trying to formulate a general theory that encompasses a mass of utterly confusing and contradictory information. [...]

"When I try to look at the whole phenomenon, I come back to my most basic intuition which has been at the heart of all my work since 'The Outsider' in 1956: that there is something oddly wrong with human consciousness. Although we have evolved further than any other animal on the face of the earth, it is at the cost of an absurd narrowness which means that we look at reality throught the long end of a telescope, failing to see the wood or even leaves because we can only focus on individual trees. Our evolution in the past twenty-five thousand years has been incredible, yet it has been largely wasted in the sense that we take it for granted and go plodding on dully. We see the world from a worm's eye view, when we urgently need a bird's eye view.

"Studying the UFO phenomenon, particularly as it is expressed in Linda's books, has made me clearly aware of one thing that I had formerly grasped only vaguely: that, far from being the most intelligent species in the universe, human beings are not really so far ahead of the cows who graze in our meadows. [...] Our greatest need at this point in our evolution is to change our intellectual viewpoint - to recognize that we are not alone in the universe and that we ought to be making far more vigorous use of the intelligence we DO possess. Our narrowness hypnotizes us into passivity. [...] "The UFO phenomenon is gradually forcing us to accept that there ARE other realities and dimensions, and that we cannot continue living like cows ruminating in a field. ... what is now happening is demanding out attention with a persistence that cannot be ignored and will become more persistent until it gets our full attention.

"For anyone who has so far managed to sleep through the increasing furor about UFOs, I cannot recommend a better alarm clock that Linda Moulton Howe's book."

And, I have to say "amen!" to that!

It's easy to fluff off the Cassioipaean's because, after all, it IS channeled and highly suspect. But, you can't go through page after page of photographs that have not been published in other media, to SEE the evidence, to see the documents, to hear the stories directly (in print)... and NOT realize that something is going on here that we really need to get a handle on.

But it takes work and committment... not a job for crybabies, either. There is NO FREE LUNCH in the universe... no "salvation" without WORK! And, in the case of what is ahead for us, or even all around us and ever present, either one wakes up and works, or they ARE LUNCH!

No kidding!

4-0 out of 5 stars A Call for Rationalism
Robert Scheaffer is not a proponent of UFOlogy.Instead, he is a skeptic who is trying to point out some of the irrationalities in the beliefs in UFOs and other related phenomenon.

Using different scientific laws and principles, like Occam's Razor, Schaeffer debunks the "proof" of UFOs in our world today. In each chapter, he walks through many of the classic UFO sightings and shows you how all the "facts" don't fit together or are changing as the story gets older.

At first, I read this as a believer who was calling for more rigid investigation so that we can focus our attention on what we believe to be actual unidentified flying objects. As you read, you will see that he feels that the believers, of whom he is not one, should adopt a more rigid standard in their investigations just as science does.In science, open forum is welcomed to search for truth whereas many UFO studies refuse to scrutinized and result to ad hominem attacks to protect their copyrighted property.

Scheaffer does bring in a strong argument. He does have a chapter on witchcraft in the Middle Ages to help support his argument. After reflection, it does help, but it is not immediately apparent in the writing.

If you are a believer or UFOlogist, you will not want to read this book.If you want to take a more balanced view of UFO phenomenon, this should be among the books you read.

3-0 out of 5 stars A Debunker's Guidebook, Not a Skeptic's...
Robert Sheaffer's "UFO Sightings: The Evidence" has one major flaw: it only tends to look at the "evidence" which supports Sheaffer's anti-UFO conclusions. Sheaffer is a leading member of CSICOP, a hard-line debunking group. CSICOP was created in the 19
